As the group itself arrived and greeted the others it would seem now they would have weaponry for protection. The Floor earlier seen was apparent it had to started below earlier before making its way to the stop. It is unknown how many guests or crew members alive but it would seem that the ship itself was getting far more quiet as they go below. Of course the magical seals actually worked against the ghouls, which itself by Gedeon as a 'standard Ward Spell' that is widely used in almost all buildings within every city of the Imaginary Macrosm. As the guess of the engine room is one of very high possibility. But as noted earlier the floors below possibly is far more dangerous then the floors below. If they would notice if they go further down they would notice more then just scratches but blood on the walls if splattered, as well bodies in pieces from various parts of the floors. To make it to the engine room required to go through the same floor as the Security Room was, then by the special VR Experience to finally make it to the section of the ship that lead to the engine room.
Once the group arriving on the same floor as the security room they would notice quite interesting things on the floor. For one, it felt off, like a distortion could be felt. The chilling presence as well could be felt on the floor and of course the smell of blood. As they would continue further they have three routes to go to get to the VR Experience but they could tell all three would be just as dangerous. The Floor itself would continue to distorted like something was occurring. It would give a feeling that as they get closer to the engine room the closer the distorting area of the floor continued to change.

Gedeon followed Dieter down the hall way, the darkness itself illuminated the hall as he noticed struggles all over. Of course the Ghoul's would come here as it was expected on how the Shade Necromancer worked. When arriving into the room he looked around and noticed the four men he didn't recognize.
"What, wards?", Tamara soon commented as she saw how they drew on things.
Gedeon noticed their unusual weapons and pondered why things needed just disguises. Of course this world was different from his own but it did make everything feel ridiculous from his own point of view. Turning to the various things written Gedeon soon comments, "Oh standardized wards, this are as common as using utensils back in my world. They are practically in every city buildings for defense against anything that was not friendly. Though if something did occur either summon Golem Knights or even guards would teleport in quickly."
This of course meant that a different form of security was done in the other world which would make police very envious. Though for different reasons, Gedeon did notice the world here was quite efficient though. As he turned to greet the other four men he soon says, "I am Private Detective Gedeon Salvator well this is my assistant Tamara Ashborne. You done a good job in holding out on the super natural, though it could of been a lot worse."
He soon turned as he was given a weapon finally which was a combat knife, he noticed its shaped and soon comments, "Huh, looks useful for now anyways."
He soon began to swing it around and used it like a professional of this world which itself showed his real skill. He soon was thrown the shotgun he caught which he then added it to Tamara promptly.
"Tamara you get the shot gun, now I got this I don't need it anymore.", Gedeon commented as played with the knife.
"What, Why?!", Tamara soon complained which Gedeon replies, "Last I checked your a Mage Knight Cavalier which itself is not practically with other type of weaponry. Unlike you I have been trained in all melee weaponry. My knife would do far more damage then that shot gun anyways, until I use it up since its not the right material to use spells with."
He turned and noticed the good Doctor practically giving off a shocked face as he looked at what else Dieter had brought out.
"Spear of Destiny?", Gedeon commented as he saw the weapon closely.
Tamara also was interested on this 'Spear of Destiny' and made it sound like it was a special mythological weapon.
"Hrmm, why does this sound so eerily familiar?", Tamara commented unable to remember where it came from.
Gedeon visually inspected the spear from a distance until he finally figured out what was before him.
"Oh! The standard Holy Lance used by the church! Actually that is a good thing to have, it should be able to even kill shades permanently, after all a Holy Lance can kill mythical beings with ease. Which reminds me my mentor used a spear similar though much bigger closer to a Halberd like that. In fact Paladins and Crusaders of the Church give them out in honor though they tend to make them custom.", Gedeon commented which would make James and Dieter look at him angrily on how he practically dissed the Spear of Destiny like nothing.
Then again in his own world such a thing was quite possible, though it required high end magic smithing to do so. When the time to leave was happening even he was at a lost on where the portal could be but when Dieter suggested engine room it sounded logical.
"Hrmm maybe that is correct, out of entire place a good starting point.", Gedeon soon muttered on hearing that.
Now moving in formation toward the next floor, Gedeon soon stopped along with Tamara as they both felt it at once.
"Gah! This this feeling...", Gedeon soon commented as he held his head.
"Wait... this is... we entered a boundary field!!", tamara soon stated as she finally began to compose herself.
"Well this is great... this Necromancer is not just any normal Shade Necromancer. Dieter I believe your theory might be correct, even if you don't feel it you can see it. Everything looking distorted and not normal, like a haze all over the floor.", Gedeon commented as he looked before them.
"With this it would likely mean we will be unable to leave unless the source of this is destroyed.", Tamara soon added if she remembered what her own teachers told her at her home.
"A plus Tamara, your correct now we entered this field only way out is either die or take out the Shade Necromancer. To answer your question James, this alone tells us Ghouls will be the least of our worries.", Gedeon first stated to James then to Tamara, "Let me think Tamara what would be a good example for this situation?"
Tamara pondered a second then replies, "I think to this world would be like entering those dungeons in a video game and unable to escape unless they finished the event."
"Yes that is a good one! Even though sometimes they remind me of our world sometimes... anyways, the deeper we go in the more likely we will run into something.", Gedeon soon commented as he look around.
"So what should we do proceed? It seems we got three routes to go through.", Tamara also noted.
"Thing is no matter what we choose I suspect we will have something waiting, this darkness hides things easier even with light the shadows will be an issue. No Matter let us proceed.", Gedeon soon would comment.

Dieter smiled to the Doctor as he recognized the spear. In fact it had slipped his mind that he might know it by sight, it was a pretty popular relic as far as tourism went. Of course that also meant that there were dozens of fakes all around the world, many museums claimed to own one. There were even more in private collections.
"Is it real? Well professor, many people would claim that they own the real one. Some of them have even claimed that miracles were carried out with them. All that I have to say is, I don't typically deal in fakes. We can discuss the business of looking at it later. For now, we need to get it out of here first. It would be a tragedy to lose such a treasure to the sea or another world, don't you think?" The man replied. The answer was nebulous but not negative, either. His continuation was somewhat darker. "You are correct about risks. Items of power like this are...strange, to say the least."
For now he didn't move to use it and instead kept it in its holster. Mooks didn't warrant the use of such a weapon. Instead, a gun would do fine. Probably be more efficient as well.
As for Gedeon, he scoffed. "Don't be so quick to presume that things work the same on your world as on ours. For an item to possess magic here, consider how much more power must be invested within it. More so to hold that 'charge' throughout the years. Such artifacts are rare and few, and their powers feared and respected. One such case would be the 'Hope Diamond', I would look into it when we are through here to give you an idea as to what I mean. For now, don't be so quick to dismiss me."
Since all the opinions seemed to be in line with his, to check the engine room, that is where Gerhardt started to lead them. He didn't have the best idea of where to find it, but there were maps all over the ship that he could find and consult. Since the tourists wouldn't be using them anymore, he took one with him to help them stay on track. It was all going fairly well, up until they reached the security level. Then it all went to hell. Dieter stumbled almost immediately upon stepping into the field of baleful energy, catching himself seconds before banging his head into the steel walls. He cursed, and pushed himself away to regain his footing.
"This. I do not like this at all." The man commented, looking around with increased apprehension. "I think that my guess was correct, and that what we seek is nearby."
Fortunately, amongst other things, they had acquired flashlights in the Knight's quarters. Dieter flicked one on and stuffed it into a breast pocket in his coat, and matching beams glared from lights held by his men. A decent augmentation to the wisps, and it also meant James would be freed up to use them all for offense if it came down to it.
"Tell me about this distortion, Gedeon. What is happening? Is it going to drain our numen or life? Explain it to me, I want to know exactly what we are to face." He asked, keeping his eyes forward. As far as paths went, the commander would pick whichever route was fastest.

"Indeed, I have something of the sort. It may or may not be real, but it had helped me from time to time. Even if it did not have any power, something that represents so much history and culture should not be left at a place like this.
James then looks at Gedeon with the kind of face like he's dealing with a complete imbecile here. The man clearly does not understand the history and value behind this spear, nor does he understood the difference between just a regular blessed weapon and one that is connected to a divine being. It is one thing to bless a weapon with prayers, magic, or holy water, but it's a completely different story when this weapon here killed the symbol of an entire religion. If the spear is the real deal, he's confident that it can easily kill that necromancer, magic or not it can't possibly be nearly as powerful as what this spear had killed.
"Perhaps you should spend more time studying on this topic rather than flexing your muscles, Mr. Salvator. It would do you good to be filled with knowledge, rather than with muscles."
When they reach their targeted floor, he too could feel the change in atmosphere as they entered this 'field', but did not show nearly as much reaction towards it as the two from the other world. Perhaps it was something that only affected them? Either way it seems to have limited their way out before they could take care of the necromancer, not something he would like to hear, but hey they had little choices in the first place. Gedeon also didn't showed any worries as he advanced, so James guessed that it won't have any other harmful effect towards them, at least not right away.
"And you still didn't mention what might we face in combat? You have some knowledge about dealing with similar beings, so you should be able to inform us what else might we have to deal with in combat. If you are able to share your information, then we would be able have more ability in preparing how to deal with this necromancer."
He also seems to be looking around to see what else is on the ground, if there are corpses that could become possible enemies, or traps that may have been laid by their foe.

Alejandro spotted a few ghouls out in the hallway. Only now he saw an orange tinge to their silhouettes. Instinctively he knew what he had to do. Stepping out into the hall with purpose, he walked straight up to the first ghoul, placing his hand over it's eyes. There was a surge of pressure and the ghoul began to squirm before suddenly falling to the ground. Rivulets of orange-red light ran up his arm and into the black bone necklace around his neck.
One of the other ghouls charged him with hands out stretched. Whipping his tomahawk back and flung it forward with enough force that upon impact it toppled backward. Quickly he retrieved the weapon and did as he had done before. Cautiously he continued down the hallway. It adjoined with the same hall as the others. He walked up behind the group, slipping in like he was always part of the group. Quietly he watched the others. The tinge of light on them was different. In the back of his mind, he wondered if he could collect on one of them.

As the group arrived at the floor and the distortion of space has taken the rest of the way toward the Engine Room. Unlike a normal space a Distorted Space is in fact changed with Mana. Mana itself powers a Boundry Field, the stronger the mana the stronger the Field. It is due to this fields changes the very space one's enter. In terms for those of Archetypal Macrosm it literally a space that can be changed to the wishes of the Boundry Field Owner. This is how in Imaginary Macrosm there is literally many realms within the world. The Mortal Realm of humans is pretty much just like Archetypal Macrosm. Confide within a Boundry Field the owner can create as much as they desire as long they have the mana to create it. For the group the three routes were all equally as dangerous due to anything could be used within a Boundry Field. Difference of the fields are classified as, Boundry Field Distorted Field, Boundry Field Dungeon Field, and Boundry Field Realm Field. Though there is many types this would be classified as high class magic. Due to this no matter what route the group takes the owner of the field will respond in kind. Though in the three routes before them mana would be strong in all three well quickest route having the most. After that would stand the VR Experience Zone which was required to get to the last stairs toward engine Room. Due to the current field's energy as not strong as it does gives them the chance to move quickly through this. The Field is incomplete as only thing truly working is unable to defeat the field, thus they have a chance to defeat the Field Owner, the Shade Nercromancer before its too late.
Shade Necromancer: As the name implies it is a Shade but also a Necromancer, a former soul of a Necromancer they tend to be very strong beings. Classified by the Knightly Order of Conjurer's as a AAA Rank Enemy due to the high level of magic they employ and the second strongest Necromancer type. Due to they no longer have a physical form normal weapons cannot harm them and requires magic to even touch them. They are extremely dangerous as they use mana and part of their soul to control a group of lesser Shades which control perfectly working dead bodies as puppets. Thus the Ghouls are controlled by the Shade Necromancer though never in large quantities. As well they command the Shadow Shades, using the power of Shadow they strike at enemies with no problem and seen as a best assassins. As well there is one type of beast that hardly anyone ever fights but they require many dead bodies to create. An Undead creature called a Metum Chimera, a beast that that is created using the fear to power it on the dying victims.
Before them what would the group do, beyond three paths leads to the same result in the VR Experience Zone. Though depending which way the routes would be unknown to them as the Necromancer can create what it requires in all three routes.
The Middle Path: Before the group the shortest route was in the middle path, it looked normal but if anyone notice really strange was how it seemed darker then normal. As well even the Wisps' flames didn't carry as strongly in that route then the other two.
The Right Path: A Path that is much longer then the other three, the haze looks not as strong but one could hear tapping coming from that route. Whatever it was it would sound similar to the Ghouls from earlier except far more.
The Left Path: The Path is the middle length towards the VR Experience, one could see stairs leading to a lower deck that was used as a game room for guests. One could not hear anything like normal but would notice a green haze was far thicker then the other three paths.
For their surroundings they can visually see the ground looking normal in their point but will notice looking in any of the three paths everything looked hazey and wavey to their eyes. Thus unable to truly tell which path is easier except the clues they could see, hear, or lack of hearing. What will they even do in this situation?

"Well I guess I should explain in what we are in now. The good thing this Boundry Field differs by owner to owner, yes and some would drain your mana out slowly but this one doesn't seem the case. Instead this type of Boundry Field Dungeon Field. It will allow the owner to put to bare whatever he wishes though there IS rules it must follow. The First being each zone you create but be pre set with something. The good news with this the other zones won't affect the one we do end up entering. The main issue is whatever they placed in each path before us will not be known as easily. The 2nd Rule though it feels like the scenery will change it in fact all in our mind. Our sense of direction will feel off but once we get through the path it will lead us into whatever is the end. In this case either the engine Room or even the VR Experience room. The one time I did this is well, let's say it was a bitch to get through but not impossible. Though I had my mentor and others with me as Mage Knights do not fight alone, always in at least a group of Nine. Good thing is if we beat the Owner the Field will disappear. More then likely the Shade Necromancer is doing this to prevent us from getting to the portal. It explains why the ship suddenly stopped, not because the portal appearance but the creation of this Boundry Field.", Gedeon soon stated as he saw all three which didn't look easy to enter.
"Hrmm", Tamara soon stated as he walked in front of the group.
"Tamara?", Gedeon soon asked then suddenly saw her putting her right hand out which suddenly a symbol on her right hand activated.
'By the Flames of Vulcan hear my cry, Burn away the darkness that eats into one's heart, by the metal, by the forge, Give Unto Yours Power!! Flaming Hammer Strike!', Tamara soon chanted as suddenly from her hand a Hammer of pure flames appears as she soon grabbed as her seal on her hand prevented her hand from burning as she threw the hammer into the middle path.
Suddenly a barrier appeared as the hammer and barrier crashed causing a ripple which then entered into the middle path and an explosion and screetches could be heard but the light itself showed what looked like a black Shadow with hands made out knives as it and a few others destroyed the flame.
"Seriously? You figured out your magic that quick for this world?!!", Gedeon soon exclaimed at the teenage girl before him.
"Figures, Shade Assassins... it seems that path is not recommended unless you want to be stabbed to death by shadows.", Tamara commented as she turned to Gedeon with a I figured this world out and you ddin't face.
"Seriously... why did you have to be literally once in a generation Mage Knights. No wonder my mentor stated for me to personally protect you, here I thought you were just a spoiled brat.", Gedeon commented at her handy work.
"Alright you Lazy Ass Pervert, its not hard I just had to think about it during this entire time and not to mention Mister Gransela was far more help then you ever were.", Tamara commented as she semi fan girled if only a moment.
"Anyways, which way should we go...", Gedeon stated as he turned to the others then noticed Alejandro suddenly being behind them all.
"WHERE THE HELL YOU BEEN!", Gedeon soon pointed at the man who disappeared earlier.

Dieter stopped just short of the three paths ahead of them, glancing between them. He was not sure how to describe what he was seeing or feeling, but luckily, Gedeon's explanation cleared some of that up. It was magic and at least partially illusory. Before this entire debacle he'd ask how they could be harmed if it was all false, but Gransela's suppositions about imagination and its newfound effects on the world underlined why dying in there was a very real possibility. Considering that, a realm made entirely to suit a twisted being's mind didn't enthuse him. With no other ways to go, though, it would have to do.
"I see. Thank you for the explanation. I suppose we'll just have to try our luck and mettle. I've no doubt that we'll come out ahead." Dieter said, hoping to boost the group's spirits. "So far, we have bested everything this creature has thrown at us. It's pulling out the stops now because it is afraid, and it should be. Its immortality is coming to an end, and God willing, we shall be the ones who bring to it the judgement it deserves."
He watched as Tamara cast a spell into the middle path, the dark one, and it was briefly illuminated by the fiery blast. Not nearly as much as it should have been, and the living shadows didn't escape his notice when they were pointed out. Looking to the other path, the green mist seemed extremely unpleasant. The only choice that left, was the one filled with ghouls.
"Gentlemen it is my recommendation that we take the right path. Although it appears longer, at a glance, I'd say it is filled with corporeal entities. I can only imagine that green mist is toxic, we have no way to protect ourselves from that. Nor do I fancy our chances at fighting the very night itself. Thus, I recommend we face the enemy we know." He explained, pointing down the path that seemed to be filled with ghouls.
Salvator being startled caused him to wheel around, being rewarded in doing so with the visage of their rather mercenary 'friend'. Somehow, he had slipped back into their group. There was something different about him, and Dieter wasn't sure what. Save for that odd jewelry he seemed to have found...
"Nice of you to join us again." The German said in greeting, voice quiet. "I was worried you had gone your own path and got lost. We're nearing the end of the journey, I think, if you want to come along still. I won't turn down any support."
With that said he begins to lead the way to the right path, the long one filled with undead. He loosened the straps around his spear for a quick draw if needed, but for now, he kept his hands on the gun. In these cramped quarters they could hem in and mow down the undead. They just had to hope the necromancer's lackeys didn't suddenly get tricky. For now he kept them in the same formation, with the most vulnerable people in the middle and lights shining all around them to cut down on ambushes. Dieter took point to face whatever happened directly, it being his idea to go this way. They'd go at a cautious pace and remain together, with at least two men watching their backs at any time. Any doors they passed, would be examined, swept, and then closed tight behind them to cut down ambushes. Similar with vents, access hatches, and anything else that could be used to gain a flank.
Once again, taking this systematically. The shade looked to use fear and uncertainty to weaken them, but the man wouldn't allow it to happen. Not if it didn't really play its hand hard.

Hearing the explanations about the field, it makes him wonder about the reasoning of setting up something like this. It feels like that such field takes some efforts to create, but yet it doesn't seem to make up for the effort spent, at least it's not beneficial enough for him to try something like that. He also wondered about the powers of the necromancer, and the different types of beings that it seems to be able to create.
The shades might seem to be something powerful, but if you think about their weaknesses towards light, they are actually not impossible to deal with. The problem here is that people without any special powers would be unable to fight against them, and would eventually be killed unless they were able to escape. The Metum Chimera thing sounds like a combination of other corpses, which means it would take damages just like regular ghouls, something that could be dealt with even with regular firearms. They're also inside a confine space, not exactly a good place to have large creatures, so either the field helps with that or it's not going to be moving around all that much.
He also wonders about the fuel by fear part, as they seem to have killed most of the passenger, so in other words it is actually not as powerful as it should be. If he were the necromancer he would have just kept everyone locked up, generating more fear towards their actions rather than just mindlessly slaughtering them.
"Well Mr. Salvator, your apprentice seems to have shown more talent than you. You might want to give it more efforts, or else you might become the student instead. After all, one must continue to learn in their life, no one can claim they know enough."
He made a light jab towards Gedeon, who seems to be having trouble grasping on the concept that James has described earlier. But then was surprised when he suddenly yelled towards him, it took him a split second to notice that he was telling pass him rather than at him, so he turns around only to find the missing person from earlier has reappeared.
"Oh, hello there Alejandro. Glad to see you're alive, and not have been pulled into the darkness by our foe. If you're here now I'm guessing you're also stuck here, like Mr. Salvator over there had mentioned about this field. Perhaps you would like to give us a well needed hand on our quest to defeat the source of these problems? The sooner we can deal with this enemy, the sooner we can get out of here and back to our daily lives."
He suggested to the stranger that he could give them a hand, if just for his own good. As he tries to continue the conversation, he noticed that Dieter had taken his pick, and went towards the one that seems to be the most 'normal'. By normal he meant the path that they had the most confidence in, at least they knew about the ghouls and had no trouble dealing with them. Staying with the group he followed Dieter's decisions and head down the same path, just hoping that it won't randomly send everyone to different locations. He also wondered a bit about the possibilities of being surrounded by creatures in the other paths, but did not voiced his concerns as it might give the enemies more power than he would have liked.
He suppose that the constant bickering from the two would help lighten up the mood and reduce the level of fear that might be in the group, but still it doesn't mean he liked it. If this was one of his class he would have ordered them to leave, to avoid further disruption to the rest of the class. But really now, they're acting like kids, annoying kids. Kids with power perhaps, but nevertheless still kids. He then give their team a bit of thought, besides himself, there's two adult kids, the boss of an armed organization, a quite shady figure that seems to be already armed before they met up, and himself who is slightly off the scale when it comes to a normal person. Interesting team aren't it?

Alejandro acknowledged Dieter with a nod. And gave Gedeon a measuring look. Then pointed his tomahawk at him with a look that said he'd better watch how he speaks to Alejandro.
"Lead on, I'll follow this time," he said gesturing to Dieter and James with his gun hand. Following behind Dieter off to his left. His gun pointed half way to the ground, so as not to accidentally shoot the wrong person. n

With the decision to go to the right path, the group once entering would notice the area around would suddenly change. The wooden floors were now like stone, and the side walls no longer showed chairs or paintings, but now lanterns made of flames. Above them the scenery would change into something from the post Medieval era. What would disorient them further is how the hallway now looked like it was twisting. If they continue further they would notice the tapping but nothing could be seen. Then suddenly the way back would close off showing a wall behind meaning no way back was even possible. One could note now the only way before them was the darken hall with flames. To make it more complicated there was no end to the hall way and many doors would begin to come up as they move further. The tapping would continue to get louder as they would move forward. As it continued suddenly the doors behind the group and in front would suddenly open and six Ghouls would suddenly appear from both directions. They looked like knights of a bygone era which made no sense on where the bodies came from. They would suddenly pick up weapons and charged toward the group screeching and their eyes glowing green.

Hearing James talk about his own talents not being as good as Tamara was quite annoyance. Of course he had to deal with it, though he wondered it was her fault that he acted this way. Well regardless Gedeon soon says, "Well now we decided on the path I think it will be a good idea to get moving. Time is the essence and the longer we take the more likely more trouble will come."
He soon turned toward the right path before him as he double checked his shot gun, which he noticed was ready. He soon put it up and entered the right path with the others. Once he went through he suddenly almost lost his balance but suddenly noticed everything changed around him, looking eerily familiar he couldn't point on where he remember seeing this place.
"Well now, this looks familiar.", Gedeon comments as he look around noticing the change of scenery and making the hall way look not the same.
Tamara soon regained her composure after entering it and begins to scan around soon saying, "Well at least we know this things tastes."
Gedeon nodded then turns to see the others but notices one thing he didn't expect.
"Well there looks to be no way back now, there is no door or anything.", Gedeon soon states as he walks up to where they came from but the wall was clearly a wall now.
Tamara nods, which she soon states, "Exactly as we guessed. Well no other way but forward it seems."
Gedeon turned right back as now he looked to the others and soon says, "Stay alert whatever is here they can come from anywhere."
Soon the group would continue walking forward, Gedeon took point with his shot gun with Tamara staying in the middle to support anyone from either side. As they continued forward Gedeon began to notice how the room was slowly felt like it was moving. Though they were going forward it felt, it was constantly changing, was there a riddle in all this? Well as they moved forward he began to notice doors to the side as the burning fires which look normal were on torches all over. What is strange is light in this area shouldn't be around which made him wonder now. As they move forward Gedeon began to be suspicious as the scenery was the same yet it wasn't. He soon suddenly stops then comments, "Hey you hear that?"
Hearing the tapping, which he recognized and they were getting louder. That meant Ghouls were close but they were not before or behind, turning to the doors he noticed he soon moved quickly between two seats so no doors were to the groups sides.
"They are coming.", Gedeon soon stated as he aimed his shot gun to the nearby doors behind.
The tapping continued louder and loud suddenly six doors opened and suddenly ghouls dressed in armor could be seen. What make it odd to Gedeon in the armor looked familiar yet it was impossible due to being in this world.
"What hell, Catholic Crusader Armor!! But they look like... SHIT!", Gedeon yells as he fired his shot gun as they picked their weapons and rushed toward them.

While not especially willing to trust the guy, Alejandro looked competent and, more importantly, alive. That was more than could be said for most of the crew. So they'd just have to work together, it was the pragmatic thing to do even if one pushed morals and ethics entirely out of the equation. Surely, none of them wanted to deal with the undead and supernatural alone. Even a man like the spearbearer didn't particularly enjoy the prospects. So with the alliance secured, for now as it were, he lead the column onward.
Once again he stumbled as they seemed to hit some kind of portal, or at least the barrier into the mutable realm. This time he was prepared for it and caught himself, though the sensation of suddenly being shifted somewhere else unsettled him. A kind of subconscious panic that causes a brief but intense cold sweat. His composure didn't crack even though a lesser man's would, he kept a bold face for those following. Gerhardt immediately recognized that the area they were in appeared to be some kind of medieval structure. Probably a castle. Heavily barred doors and torches laid into the walls, cold stone, the works. He had seen many in his time. It was unusual considering in reality they were on a ship, and this was rather far from a vessel in aesthetics.
"It appears our necromancer is classically minded. Perhaps very old. Harkening from the medieval era, if I might guess? If this is all part of his imagination, I suspect he drew upon what he knows best. A noble, maybe." Dieter said in speculation, glancing between his comrades to make sure they were there and also gauge their morale. While doing so he saw that the way they came was blocked. He clicked his tongue disdainfully. "It also appears we shall have to keep moving forward. You men at the back, keep watching our six. I do not trust that for a moment to be a real barricade, I won't have us surprised because we chose to trust an enemy on his own turf."
As was stated they tried the doors as they passed by. None opened, which made the German wonder if they were even real at all. They did their best to barricade them on the way by, smacking the hinges to bend them and trying to break the locks. It might buy them some time. Dieter noticed that the hallway seemed to go on forever, and it was extremely similar looking. Telling one stretch apart from another was a veritable needle-in-haystack conundrum. To counter it, he started to scrap long, horizontal slashes into the walls as they went by, each one numbered. It was an idea, at least.
It was impossible to miss the tapping noises as they got closer, with the only other racket to challenge being their footsteps. While loud, it wasn't nearly enough to drown out, what he assumed to be, a squadron of undead about to assault them. Rather than mince words he raised a clenched fist upwards to bring the group to a stop, and then he lowered it with a chopping motion to order them to prepare for battle. His soldiers would understand that, the others would probably get the idea when the bunch of them hefted their guns to ready them for fire.
The rattling of the doors was all the warning they needed. Dieter began to fire tightly controlled bursts of 5 rounds into the door nearest to him, on the left. He expected Gedeon or Tamara to cover his right. As a man trained in battle he didn't hesistate to shoot for a second just because the enemy was wearing armor. Not a single thing on this ship outside of their group had been friendly, guys in wrong-era dress in an enemy mindscape were certainly no different. Everyone with him covered another set of doorways, breaking into fire teams of two.
This still left the doors in the middle of their formation undealt with. Alejandro, James, and possibly Tamara would have to pull their weight on those ones.

"We're on a ship and the necromancer decides to makes us feel like we're in a castle, not sure how I should feel about his or her hobbies, but I suppose we'll be able to use fire without worries of burning the ship to ashes."
As they continue forward, it feels like they didn't make any progress at all. With their surroundings looking the same, there's little to show that they have actually advanced towards their destinations. This makes him wonder about the possibilities of being trapped in an endless loop, which would surely be a more useful trap than just a random hallway.
Then he heard it, the footsteps, and followed by the sudden appearance of the ghouls. He noticed that they seem to be wearing armor, but yet moving at the same speed as the other ghouls. Perhaps they are stronger than their regular counterpart? Or perhaps those armor are light as feather? Either way with his allies busy, he'll have to defend himself with his own means. Which, is not that hard as he could simply send one of his wisp over and blows up in their face. Armored or not, regular metal plating won't protect them much from an explosion, at least not one that focuses on the explosion itself rather than sending projectiles out.
"Catholic armor hm? Looks a bit too new to be real stuffs. I suppose in a world without firearms it won't be too unreasonable to keep using heavy armor for protection."
That said, he wasn't sure if these are regular armor or some magical equipment, so to be sure he sent out both of his wisp to attack. Creating two explosions to hit one of the coming ghoul, and leaving the other for another. As he give out his commands, he summons a new one to maintain the group's vision. He still got his gun, but doesn't feel the need to use it yet. As long as he keep the number of summons under watch, he pretty much have an unlimited arsenal of grenades that moves freely. Though he might choose to have it join in with the attack when he need a bit extra firepower.
After seeing these ghouls so many times, they gave him a thought. The necromancer seems to control dead corpses, rather than summoning new creatures. Perhaps he can think of something to deal with that kind of trait, or use it for his own magic? Or perhaps the necromancer does have that ability, but chooses to use existing corpses instead?

Alejandro didn't spare a glance to the shifting of the scenery. Instead seeing threats, he quickly aimed for the knee of the nearest ghoul, firing two rapid shots into it. Modern bullets would easily pierce medieval steel. Combined with the weight of the armor itself, the ghoul would likely lose his balance. Then proceed to do the same to other ghouls. In hopes of relieving pressure on the others by leaving them slowed.
