[El Nino] El Nino, a medium size city surrounding a long tower that stood strong even after the Great Destruction that threatened the existence of civilization itself. The place was lightly armed, lacking the need for heavy equipment due to the comparatively weaker level of mutant and robots in the area, it has the importance of being one of the only cities to the Southern region and became an important trade point. However the Grappler Army, a large group containing both humans and mutants that appeared after the Great Destruction, soon brought their eyes on the value of the location. They launched an assault on the city, but was surprised that these so called scavengers managed to hold their own against the seemingly unlimited numbers of the Grappler Army. However before the situation elevated further, someone broke the stalemate, and led the Grapplers into the city. A local mobster known as Mendoza had decided to secure his position by allowing the Grapplers to gain an easy victory, he led these troops in and allowed them to take over. However in fear of reactions of the Hunter's Organization that had also setup their locations in the city, the Grapplers did not claim the area as their own, and simply allow Mendoza to rule the city as long as he pays tribute to them. You can argue Mendoza had saved the city from destruction, but many did not share this view and had even went underground, plotting to over throw Mendoza's rules. While knowing about this, there was little Mendoza could do without provoking the entire city against him, so he pretend they don't exist and make his life as great as possible while he could still do it. There's no open combat in the city, with each party understanding that if the city is destroyed then there is nothing to assist people in dealing with the wild beasts and deadly robots, so everyone's daily lives continues despite the tough tension and Mendoza's tyrannical rule. James and his two teammate, Sarah and Lilia, had arrived in this city without their personal choices. Lilia was attempting to fix an ancient teleportation machine, and resulted in the three warping to the city without means of returning. Normally this shouldn't be a problem, being a fairly experienced Hunter himself, and with Sarah being a talented Soldier... but they came without any of their equipment and vehicles. Now we got a Hunter without a car, a Soldier with only a pistol, and a somewhat mad scientist like Artist. "......" Sarah stares at her friend who is responsible for their arrival at the city, while Lilia, pretends to look cute and for her friends to forgive her. James, who is the leader of the group, seems quite frustrated that he had to leave his ride back in their old area, and looks like he's either half awake or half dead. The blonde soldier only have her sidearm with her, a pistol that is not very useful if they had to deal with tougher enemies but at least it's something, while Lilia has something that she just made in a few minutes. The Wide Shot is a crossbow type weapon, larger in size, weaker, but fires a larger number of bolts at a time to hit more targets, but again it's pretty weak so not a lot of people would want to use it. James himself has a Harpoon Gun, which is more of a tool than a weapon, he normally uses along with his vehicles for braking or attacking. Either way there's nothing they could do with what they have, and sitting there all day won't help, they need to earn some livings. Standing in the Hunter's Office that had set up at the bottom of the Mendoza Tower, the three tries to look for some jobs they could do, and perhaps looking for others that might have a similar idea as they do. At this rate they're going to starve, having little to no money and can't even afford finding a hotel to stay at. - [Guild WANTED/Quest List] WANTED Monster: Sand Shark 2000G Desperoid 4500G Quests: Bike of Revenge: A former Hunter has asked for some help in defeating the monster Antares who is responsible for his injuries, please seek and talk to the Hunter in the camp to the East of the East Mado Desert. Memories in the Sand: A trader has lost a ring in the desert while traveling, please talk to him and help him find the ring. - "....I'm definitely not searching for a ring in the desert on foot." James quickly commented when he spotted the second quest, he also not too sure about fighting the Antares either. That said, the only other choices are the Wanted Monsters, while he had no experience with this Desperoid thing, he had fight Sand Sharks before, and being on foot will certainly be a dangerous disadvantage. He'll need to find more allies if he wants to deal with that... Mean while, he noticed that Sarah seems to look forward to fighting the Sand Shark, being the target that she first seek out when she became a Soldier. She was saved by James in that battle, but now she looks forward to having a revenge map... that said, it'll be hard with just a pistol with her. She looks back at James, with a glance that shows her eagerness to fight the Sand Shark. Not feeling too confident about dealing with the Sand Shark with what they got, he turns to look at Lilia to hope for some support fire in their decision making, but finds that Lilia is messing with an old mounted machine gun near the entrance, and was being shooed off by the guards. Looks like that's what he gets for hoping someone like her would be normal enough to support his decision of staying safe.

The day itself begun quite normally for Zeccika, since arriving into El Nino for the last week gave good work for the the father and daughter duo. Though today Mecks was in the middle of a job in the other part of the city leaving her to her own devices as it was a deal they were ironing out.
'Still Grapplers ruling this city with a puppet is not shocking. The quicker we leave this place the better it is for us.' She thought mindfully as she finished getting ready to head out of the inn.
Soon leaving the hotel she waved at the clerk as she exited out into the brawling city before her. It was what to expect in this sort of world which gave a normal feeling then anything. Being here for a bit its better then traveling all the time like they were. Never the less it was only way to work to put on the table, though her father did the bulk of it with repair work.
"Where to head to today..", Zeccika commented as she began to wander the city.
If she were someone else they would say do not go out on your own but she is not normal. Not to mention she could defend herself if need be, though she wished she could use their pistol right about now. With no weapons to openly be carried around left her with one less option. As she continued to walk she wondered if she could get something to eat, as she continued down the street she soon looked up at the tower in the middle of the city.
"Such a big tower... I wonder how the old people made it in the past.",Zeccika soon commented as suddenly her stomach growled.
"Alright let's go eat something!!", she then added as she headed off to eat.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Mecks walked down a hallway as he finally concluded his work for today. Knowing full well to fix anything most do not even cheat him being known as The Fixer. If it was broken and no one else can fix it The Fixer Can. Is the word around wherever he went, which itself was true. After all the man has been doing it since his parents and grandparents did after what occurred a long time ago. Checking his watch it was time to go back to the hotel. With the deal done he had to work for the next 3 days on his newest project, which meant he had to tell Zeccika she would be alone for a few days. Some men would be overprotective of their daughters he was a little but has he saw her grow he understood she was strong enough to take care of herself. He soon walked into the streets and begun to walk towards a bus to take him back to where the hotel was.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Not long after James and his group arrive then one girl named Zeccika Harnon entered the office. She walked toward the bulletin that James and the others would be looking at and saw what was up for today. Putting a hand up to her chin as she over looked all the paper on the board she pondered on it for a while as she ignored anyone else around. After a brief moment she soon picked the paper Memories of the Sand up.

Another set of travelers happened to be in El Nino. They blew into town on foot, but didn't seem too worse for wear despite it. The trio of rugged folks got some odd looks from the guards until they explained that they were bounty hunters and not there to cause trouble, that softened their attitude a little, and they were let into the city proper after that. They hung around for a day or two before trying to look for work outside of town. Rodriquez played his guitar at a few local watering holes to earn some spare scratch while his companions chatted up the locals about what had been going on. El Nino sounded like a pretty quiet town, or did until the Grapplers showed up.
Mazhe didn't like the look or sound of those guys. It wasn't the first time he'd heard about them, several other traders they passed in the countryside mentioned the group in passing. Where they were based out of was something no one was sure of, but they were immensely powerful and had large reserves of manpower. Possibly one of the most powerful forces in the modern world. It made the rider a little wary to be in a city under their auspices, but it was unavoidable. They needed to resupply and this was the best place to do it while earning some fare. Besides, there was no reason they should stick out any more than the other merchants and assorted vagabonds who show up here, right?
Dyson: "Not the shabbiest town we've came across."
Mazhe: "I get the feeling it was nicer before this 'Mendoza' character took charge."
D: "Bound to happen sooner or later. Come to think of it, I'm surprised at how few locales we've found that are run by local strongmen..."
M: "Different country, different culture, different rules."
Rodriguez: "Astute."
The singer's quip got him a punch in the arm from Mazhe. "Spoiled sport. So. What's on the agenda today?"
M: "Work. Let's see what the hunter's office has for us."
R: "Anyone else find it funny that Big Boss over there put the office right at the bottom of his tower? Ya know, like, so he can keep an eye on 'em and such?"
Another punch from the posse leader. "If it's that obvious to you, of course we'd notice it. Don't say shit like that openly. Now come on, we have a living to earn."
-
Usually you didn't get too many hunters gathered all in one place unless some kind of big hunt was called, or a similar occasion. So, seeing five other people in there beyond the staff had Gralon raising an eyebrow. He had hoped that they'd arrived in time for one of the aforementioned special events, but that was not the case; mere coincidence. Nothing on the Wanted boards looked too out of the ordinary, and the man behind the counter only had business as usual to discuss.
Mazhe nudged the cybernetic artist beside him and gestured toward the poster for the 'Desperoid. "Hey look, I guess they want your head out here, too."
Rodriguez squinted at the poster, and burst into laughter. "Like hell! That mug's way too ugly to be yours truly. Besides, I wouldn't go for less than $50,000!"
M: "It was $100,000 last time."
R: "Who's counting?"
The group did, however, take the info sheet regarding that Antares character. That sounded pretty dangerous for now, short on gear as they were, but with some wheels and new equipment they could probably handle it. This all provided that they could get some wheels and equipment. The ring job was right out until they could get their hands on a metal detector or some kind of magnet, so that meant bounties. The desperado robot was an unknown element, but like James, they had tangled with sand sharks before. They were rough customers, but could be handled if approached properly. They were fairly common back home, but they tended to live in deeper deserts where people didn't usually go. Then again, maybe it was the same here and this one just wandered close to town looking to get fat?
James and his company would no doubt notice the other trio that was standing next to the wanted poster for the bounty head. Mazhe glanced over his shoulder to take stock of them. A man and two girls. Two of them looked like they could handle themselves...the other seemed to be heckling the guards about a heavy gun. Maybe some kind of merchant looking to acquire it for a vehicle.
"Hey buddy, you after the shark too?" Mazhe asked whichever of the hunters were closest, "Interested in teaming up? Thing of that size, might be rough with three sets of hands. Six might not be so bad."
Seems they had a similar idea. More people, less risk. The money's no good if they all wind up dead. More importantly, that shark could feed his crew for ages. Most people would just shoot the thing and be done with it, but the group here were experts at living off the land, they could make it go a lot further than acting as a simple paycheck.

While deciding on what to do, James noticed the girl that just arrived and studying the same message board as they were. She seems a bit older than Sarah and Lilia, but judging from her movements and attitude she's not as experience as his partner, that said we're talking about a warmonger here so there's barely anyone that had fought more than her. He then noticed her reaching for the paper that mentioned about searching for the ring in the desert, so he decided to give her some advice as a precedent in this profession and lightly grab her by her shoulder.
"Hey, I'd recommend you not try that without having a vehicle. Haven't you looked at the map? The East Mado desert is huge, and contains many powerful monsters, walking around in that huge area to look for a tiny ring is definitely not a fun choice."
He lets go of her after he's done talking, and instead turns towards the trio that seems to be interested in the Sand Shark. With an extra team it might be a lot easier to bag that Wanted monster even without a vehicle, at least if it's just one of them they might be able to take on it. However before he answers, Sarah already quickly replies for him.
"Lets kill it."
"Wait hold on, S-"
"We kill it."
"Bu-"
"We kill it."
Looks like she's awfully determined to kill that Sand Shark, and won't back down until he accepts it, so he sighs and nods to her then to the trio.
"Alright, we're in. But I'll have to tell you guys that we got no cars, not even a bike due to some... accidents. And if more than one Sand Shark comes out then I'm running, you guys alright with that?"
He agrees with the joint operation, but also gave his own concerns. If there's more than one shark then it'll definitely tear them apart, so if he seems more than one then it'll be better to keep their lives than to risk fighting them. He decides a time and place to meet up with the other team, so to give everyone sometime to prepare... that said, he's got nothing and there's nothing he could do with that empty wallet anyways.
Lilia finally gave up on trying to take that mounted gun, and comes back looking a bit disappointed. She then noticed the cyborg like being that's talking with James, and goes up to it with eyes sparkling.
"Wow! A cyborg! I haven't seen these ones in a while. Can I open you up for studying? I promise to put you back together and paint you better!"
"....Get over here you."
"Noooo... just a bit more!"
She then gets pulled aside by James, who nods at the trio apologetically at his teammate's lack of manners. He then push her towards Sarah who can deal with her friend while he's busy doing business.

Zeccika's own arm was stopped by the other man before her who looked like a Hunter from his own attire and the way he moved. Her eyes only narrowed for a moment when he stated that, of course she understood how the desert work.
"Its filled with great beasts and can be quite deadly. I am familiar about it.", Zeccika soon replied as she soon puts the paper back.
"I was only look up at it nothing more.", As she replied then turned to see the new company that entered.
In truth she was bored and wanted something to do, waiting on her father for work could be boring. After having her own fill of food she went off in other parts of the city. Though it eventually lead to the Hunter Office she always heard about them from stories from bars that her father frequented when traveling. Overhearing stories could be considered childish but she didn't want other to know. She understood this world is far harsher then what it once was according to her father. Now that the group began to talk of working on a specific hunt that intrigued her greatly. Though she traveled to many cities and many places her father always knew how to avoid trouble as well always went with caravans as he worked to keep them in top shape as they moved. Hearing they were all going she soon walks up to the group.
"You all going to hunt Sand Shark? Can I come along?", Zeccika soon asked, though in truth not telling her father about this will be troublesome.
When getting home she would get an ear full but she was bored and wanted to see how they were in person. Of course only if they allowed her to tag along, never the less she waited for their reply.

Mazhe was quick to say, "I like her spirit," in regards to the soldier's courage. In the same breath he averred that the lack of vehicles and desire to not bite off more than they could chew was not an issue. "Funny coincidence, we're in a tight spot too. We'll be going on foot, but my boys and I know how to survive out there. Now. Way I see it, poster calls for one shark, not more. So if we find a pack, I'm just fine with bailing."
But there was a point that he put forward as well, beginning to do so by jabbing a finger at the creature's photograph. "I want to butcher it when we're done. Most people don't bother, but we do. If you want to help afterward, we can split that as well. More there than we can probably eat. We're both traveling light, this will help us save cash on rations."
After that the issue of the augmented people came up. "Two cyborgs, my dear," Dyson spoke up to correct the other girl in James's team while holding up his gunmetal-gold left arm. Most of the time the fact that he had metal under there at all went unknown due to his long-sleeved coat, but his counterpart wasn't so fortunate. Not that the vagabond was particularly shy about having them or anything.
Said vagabond, meanwhile, was not so enthused. "Whoa, hold on there! Paint better?! What's wrong with how I look now?!"
Gralon pulled his own artist back and shooed him off before he could say anything else. "Musicians. Who needs them, eh?"
It looked like they were about ready to hammer out the kinks and get rolling when the final person in there moved to chat them up as well. He had no reason to turn them down, even though this was the largest group he'd have traveled with in some time. But then again, it was also the first time in a long time he'd moved so under equipped. He shrugged first and then answered, "It's fine by me. By the way. I'm Mazhe. The guy with the guitar is Rodriguez, and the old man is Dyson. So we're all squared up."
"'Doc' is fine as well, if you'd prefer. A pleasure to meet you all," said older gentleman said.

"Hm, well an extra hand never hurt."
He wasn't sure how good the girl is, but at least the trio looks like they've seen their shares of battles. He wasn't too sure about eating something that also eats humans, but decides it's better than starving.
"Your clothes are bor- ahhhh~"
"Indeed, they could get quite a handful sometimes."
Lilia who was about to yell back got caught in a sleeper choke by Sarah, who don't want to waste anymore time when they could be out killing things and making money. James just looks at them with slight frustration and amusement before turning back to the three and the girl to introduce themselves.
"I'm James, the blonde killing machine over there's Sarah, and the slightly crazy one is Lilia. Hope we all have a great time in that desert."
"Greetings."
"Hi! Gwa... let go..."
"....Sigh."
At least he could be confident about their ability in battle, much more than their ability to act like a regular person.
-
And so after some preparation, the group begins to depart from El Nino, heading towards the South to the Mado region where the Sand Shark is rumored to have appeared. Even though they're only in the wasteland area around the city, the kind of weather they receive after the Great Destruction was nothing close to pleasant. Strong wind picks up rough sand that at times are strong enough to leave scratches, the grounds are bumpy and tough to walk on and risks crumbling when people walk on them.
Now that they're off on a mission, the usually overly cheerful Artist are more serious and alert of the surroundings, being the one most skilled at the art of sound. The quiet Soldier watches the terrain carefully, checking if there are any dominant enemies around, and ready to pull out her pistol if necessary. The Hunter of the group, tries to use his trained eye sight to look ahead, his vision are just as well on foot even though he's more used to doing so in a vehicle.
It takes some distance and time to get to their destination of East Mado Desert, which of course means it would be unlikely to simply arrive there without any trouble. James suddenly holds out his hand up towards the rest of the group, and with that, both Sarah and Lilia stops to look at him. He then points towards a direct ahead, then make a gesture that some enemies have been spotted.
Ahead are a small group of mutated animals, less than a dozen, but more than just a few. Three large pinkish Ants the size of a large dog are seen digging at some remains of a cactus, seemingly gathering for food. Circling around them them are three orange bat of around the same size, the strange part about them is that some sort of video camera replaces most of their faces. A short distance away resting by the shadows of a boulder are three yellowish color rats slightly smaller than the Sand Ants, and has a pair of Parabolic antennas in place of their ears, the antennas seems to move ever so often and helps them pick up sounds which is why James stopped the group with signals instead of voice. There is also a hole of decent size by the rats, and would be a bit difficult to notice as it was partly covered by the shadow, but he managed to spot it.
The groups of beasts haven't spot them yet, and they're just ready in range for attack. James was thinking of striking first, but if they take too long and make too much noises it may attract more enemies over, so he looked at the other two parties to see if they'll agree to his plan to attack. Sarah pulls out her pistol and waits for further orders, while Lilia begins to set up her Wide Shot and opening up a bipod for it. James himself pulls out his Harpoon Gun that was stored on his back, and ready to attack if the others agree.

As being accepted with the group it would seem today's boring day will be noteworthy. Introductions were done by all sides as Zeccika noted all them as they were introduced. Finally as it was her turn she soon says, "My Name is Zeccika Harnon a pleasure you meet you all."
If people knew of the last name it was the very same as the one man known as The Fixer. Though it could be coincidence in itself, after all many names have either been adopted or even changed as time progressed. Never the less the time to leave El Nino came as she followed the group toward the outside.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
One could say the desert had its own beauty, a beauty of life and death. Moving on foot this was both an adventure and possibly suicidal? Zeccika was not much for talk through this as the strangers themselves were actually being serious and moving out. When her own father was busy working he would make the same exact face, which has taught her well. When the face turns serious the time for jokes is over and time for work. This harsh world would make anyone else harder then nails or that it should. Never the less Zeccika kept on edge without visibly showing it, she continued to observe the group in silence as they were making to their destination. When arriving to a point she soon saw James raise his hand in a stop which usually meant something was ahead. What she saw she finally understood what was before her. Many different enemies who were in great number which could be troublesome to deal with. When James and others picked up their weapons expectedly he soon was waiting on everyone's idea how to deal with the situation which Zeccika soon mouths, 'If there is too many might be a bad idea.'
Which meant she was against attacking needlessly, her father have told her many times before do not pick a fight with too many unknown variables. If you are too risky you will end up dead quicker then he could sat out after he ate. Which made her cringe in that thought process actually on the sole purpose of not wanting to visualize her father on a toilet. She waited what the last team would think after all majority wins in this sort of group so she waited for the Musician's idea on this situation. In fact how the hell a musician even do this line of work? Scratch that why is a Mechanic's daughter out here to begin with.

The rider's posse headed out with the rest of them on short order once they had assembled their gear and rested for the trip. There was no lie in Mazhe's earlier statement that they were traveling light, it was clear as day now. They had only one gun between them, along with a crossbow and a sword. A little bit more shoe-string than even James's crew, but the biker definitely held his blade with the calm confidence of a master. As for the doctor with the bow, no doubt he knew exactly where to shoot to cause the most harm so that shouldn't be a concern either. The bunch handled the wastes with an equal amount of expertise, knowing what areas made for easiest travel and which did not. All lessons hard learned, many hunters had to make do on foot sooner or later. They were also clearly very familiar as evidenced by them chatting between themselves in hushed voices along the way, but only when things seemed calm. With the first team taking the lead they hung back and in more loose formation to watch their flanks, with the melee user in the center to act as a reserve since many monsters out here like to get in close. This was where he advised Zeccika to remain as well unless she had her own idea.
When the sign came to stop they were quick to do so, and they hunkered low while looking over the horizon in the direction to which the hunter had pointed. Mazhe took stock of their numbers through a set of binoculars and weighed the odds on what to do. Normally he'd be for evading them, but those rats changed the game. It was very likely that the rodents would pick up their footfalls and start shrieking, and then they'd be facing all of the foes without the advantage of surprise. The fact that the muties hadn't noticed them yet was already a surprise, one they shouldn't squander. He chose to fight and indicated that it was due to the parabolic rats by pointing at them, following this with a neck-cutting motion to signal the intent.
The trio readied their own weapons and gave a third sign, thumbs up, when they were ready to act.

James gave a thumbs up in return as well, then began to give some simple orders to his two teammates, after that he grabs a rock off the ground for his plan. Lilia tries to take aim with her Wide Shot, which is a very difficult task considering its design and lack of sights, while Sarah lowers her stance and prepares to move. Once everyone is ready, James throws the rock towards another direction, which could divert the attention of some of the beasts for a split second. Within that time, Lilia fires her weapon towards the Bats, beings the ones with the best sight. Sarah springs forward with the speed that is impressive even for a Soldier, pulling her pistol out but not firing until she gets closer to her targets. Following right behind her is James, moving slower than his teammate but still closing in on the enemies at high speed.
The bolts, mostly hit air, but one managed to hit one of the bats. It only did a small amount of damage due to the lack of strength of the weapon, but it managed to hit the bat in one of its wings, causing it to stagger a bit. The staggering bat is then hit by a large harpoon thanks to James, which smashed right through its body, enough to kill it and bring it out of the sky. This is followed by Sarah who dives behind cover, and begins shooting at the bats as well, trying to clear them before they could put their cameras to use and assist its allies with targeting. She also grabs some sand off the ground and throws them at the rats, hoping to use the impact and the sound they create to disrupt the senses of the Rats.

Zeccika followed on their decision to move against the enemy before them. Though personally she didn't like it majority rules on this case. Taking out her Pistol she moved with the others and fired at the enemy bats right after the others to give more support. Taking them it seems to her was the best option from these experienced hunters. She kept herself calm remembering what her father taught her and she soon took aim and fired steadily. The Recoil of the pistol was something she has at least grown used to due to practicing her shooting. Both hands were on the pistol as the recoil hit she remembered to keep the gun in an upright position. She fired again and again at these video bats i9n their mechanical looking. She paid attention as their position was as they moved keeping up with the others the best she could, it would seem they had upper hand but how long?

The trio moved forward as James did to provide support, closing into range of pistol and crossbow and then opening fire. Their targets were the video bats as well, which were a threat not only because of their optics, but also their mobility and flight. With one of them melee-bound they posed a risk of negating part of their unit's strength, so they had to go first. The pair of cyborgs crawled onto a dune and laid prone on the top to stabilize their aim, and then made their attacks with the enhanced accuracy that would provide. With one bat already dead, and Zeccika attacking them as well, that would hopefully be enough to wipe out the risk they posed early on.
Mazhe stayed out of sight with his blade drawn and remained there, ready to move and intercept anything that closed in. Which would likely be everything there if he saw them right. It'd be suicide to move forward alone into that mob, so instead he'd let them close in under fire from the team and then engage them once they'd been bloodied and forced to split up their numbers.

Thanks to their focused fire, the three bats were shot out of the air, with one of their corpses still hanging on James' Harpoon. Most wild beasts are big, but the lightly armed ones are usually pretty easy to handle, even with weak small arms. With the Bats out of the way, it might be a bit easier to avoid attacks than if they just let them fly around. Seeing the decent result, James nods and moves to search for another target, the Ants or the Rats.
The Ants, seeing enemies have appeared, quickly digs into the dirt ground for cover, and slowly approaches the team of adventurers that had appeared. They don't move too fast, and they lack the tough skin or shells that might otherwise protect them, but they have no choice but to attack if they want to live. On the other hand are the Parabolic Rats, which quickly detected the attacking party, and charges towards them from the sides. These Rats are a bit smarter than the Ants, and decided to not go right on against these humans, but towards the ones that seems weaker in comparison.
Zeccika, who seems to be less used to team battles, became one of the target along with Lilia. Two of the Rats went for the marshal artist, jumping from side to side to avoid gunshots, and tries to pounce at her with their fangs ready. Another one went for Lilia, but was hit by a Harpoon from James who waited until the beast went straight before firing. The Rat was hit but managed to live, until Lilia fires another wave of bolts at the rat in front of her. As weak or inaccurate as the Wide Shot could get, at this range it was enough to kill the mutated beast.
Sarah, moves to support Zeccika, and fires at one of the two Rats in order to stall, injury, or kill it. Even the regular pistol is enough to kill the beast if it gets hit by several shots or if a vital point is struck, however being a distance away from the Martial Artist, Sarah was not sure if she could completely cover for her with just the handgun. The other rat continues right towards Zeccika, ignoring the death of its ally.
Mean while, there was actually one more being that was not spotted, and that being comes in the form of a semi-humanoid mole that quietly digs apart the ground near the attacking team. The Prairie Guerilla quickly pops out from the tunnel it made and throws a round object towards Mazhe's team, a Firework Cracker, which might cause some injuries if it hits right on. The mole tries to zip right back down after the throw, hoping to stay out of the sight.

As the Video Bats went down it seemed they were now more safe then before. With them out of the way it would lead to crowd controlling much easier as well unable to help the other beasts. As Zeccika noted the Ants and Rats were coming towards them Zeccika noted how slow the ants were but then noticed the rats were coming for her. It was typical, they would always go for what they perceive as the weakest one. Though they would have a shock as they moved closer Zeccika quickly used a kick at one rat directly into its face well she soon used her hand gun as a weapon to big the other. If they survived she would be ready to go again if not that would not broad well for the other rats.
"Oh Typical, always going after the girl huh.", Zeccika commented.

"Bomb, scatter!" Mazhe was quick to shout upon catching sight of the incoming ordnance. Being that he wasn't yet fighting, he was the one most apt to see that and call it out. Good thing, too. The group dove out of the way of the explosive, letting themselves roll down the sand dune to make better time away from it. The fact it was only a firecracker wasn't apparent in the heat of battle, and even if they did know, getting hit by one wouldn't be fun. The first grenades were basically souped up fireworks, and a smart man might bet that these were a lot closer to those originals that the stuff people shoot off on holidays.
Rodriguez and Dyson both skirted the ridge and peaked around opposite sides with their ranged weapons while the boss went up top to where they had just been.
R: "It's dug underground!"
D: "As have the ants."
M: "Hold fire until the ants show themselves, leave the mole to me."
R: "Aye aye, captain!"
Earth was one of the best defenses against projectiles right after water, so that mole and those ants would be a problem. They'd only have small windows in which to strike them, if Mazhe wasn't here. At the moment his two friends kept their heads on a swivel with weapons raised. The moment the ants showed themselves, they'd each take a shot at them.
The biker would show a bit of his use here as was hinted at earlier, because those burrowers were not safe from him. The man lunged off the dune with his blade angled downwards, the jump aimed to put him to where the mole disappeared. This sword in particular was more made with thrusting in mind, a cavalryman's straight sword in other words, so it would be very capable of punching through the soil and nailing that bastard of a bomber. He landed and slammed his blade hard into the soft earth, driving it down to the hilt into the sand where he could best estimate the mole to be with all of his weight going behind it; using disturbances in the soil to try and line up where it moved to, if at all, so he could strike there with an Earth Breaker attack.
