The night air could be felt, darkness continue as the night sky over the region of Paemir. A boy was walking within the town proper as various people have left the fields or in the town relaxing. In one tavern it would be heard with music and people laughing. In other place people were walking some shopping some others just talking. The boy would continue down the alley way passing a couple who were making soft moaning noises and were close to each other. Regardless he ignored them and was going up the path towards the nearby gate, his father of course was just a simple guard who's shift was about to end. to see him was one of the few things he would do at the end of the day. As the guards were switching at the nearby wall and tower the boy soon saw his father and he waved. The older man soon smiled waving back throughout this a noise that has been nagging the older man continued to be heard which he ignored. As the guards were about to finish switching suddenly the boy's face turned to horror. Looking down the guard look as his face which blood was coming down with the suddenly realization dawned him. Soon he fell to the ground as a few unknown assailants jumped over the wall, taking out their blades they slashed and killed another guard when another soon manages to shout, "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK, ALL TO ARMS!!"
A bell soon rang through the town as the the quickly moved to a nearby crate to hide. The Gates soon opened and horses rushed into the town. The boy would stay here the entire time hearing screams and gun shouts rang out. The bell continued to ring all night as he continued to hide himself into the box as he heard footsteps. Looking up he saw of of the unknown men he simply looked at him then put his finger up in a hush. Leaving the boy the men continued to fight within the town it was unknown what to has happened.

[Inside the City]
The bandits that arrive today, seems a bit different from the usual bands that gets fought off. These ones charge into town, and picks out those that tries to resist, and answer their efforts with a well aimed shot from their bow or rifle. They did not pause to grab any prisoners, nor did they stop to rob any houses, they just continue charging. As they pass the streets, some of them throws a few things towards the ground, and a few moments later they explode into bursts of tear gas. It's not fatal, but it sure will stop most resistances from the guards or peasants.
Heading right for the wheat fields they behind to do what their commander told them to do, throwing molotovs into the growing crop, before turning towards their other side for another round of flames. The heavier Cavalry riders seems to lack the same weapon, but uses their heavy glaives to hack apart pretty much anything they could destroy. Not only the crops but the animals are targeted too, as domestic animals are slaughtered, even dogs were hack in half by the heavy polearm.

[Nearby plain]
Outside the city, and hidden in the shades, a small squad of people are watching on a Agnaktor tank. The leader among them seems to be a young woman, who is watching the attack through a pair of binoculars. They don't seem to want to help either side, and just staying there to watch the city gets set ablaze. The tank is facing the city gates while being on standby, but it's not clear on their intention yet.

"Quick the enemy has entered the town!!", one of the guards said as a few of the guards grabbed the rifles that were normally only issued during war. Out of the Hundred Guards left to guard the town the timing couldn't of been worse. Their liege lord Viscount Phil Wyvern was away for Council meeting in Valhedge Citadel City and his heir Jorge Wyvern was on a hunt for outlaws with most of the manpower of the town. WHo would've thought that those outlaws managed to attack well he was away. Regardless out of the twenty men here they would try their best to muster the defense of the city. The rest of the guard were already at their posts and moving into position. After all this was their city so a few more guards set up defenses to move people to safety as they prepared to meet the enemy. Some have already engaged the enemy bandits still using their Paemir Arms made Revolver called the Pewter Action were aimed and ready firing when an enemy appeared. Of course being outnumbered doesn't help they would try their best. Already a dozen guards have been Killed in Action with the initial assault. The moment gas began to be fired in the town some of the guards were affected to. The other guards with their rifles quickly moved during this setting themselves on top of the roofs and nearby windows when a few of the bandits arrived they attempt to ambush them with their 972 Bolt Action Rifles.

When the horsemen saw the guards approaching with their weapons, they did not attempt to engage the enemies, instead they simply turn and move away with their superior speed. Keeping a much further range than the accurate and effective range of the enemy weapons, and do not risk entering the enemy's range by counterattacking. After they're done with the crops and animals, they now turn to the city houses. It's not hard to guess that enemies might have gotten ready and are hiding in the area, after all none of them are charging towards them to fight. But they are a bit surprised that no one is actually trying to stop the flames that are spreading on the field.
This time, they kept some range, and took out some arrows with oil soaked cloth wrapped near the arrowhead. They light up the arrows on the burning farms and send a volley of fire arrows towards the city at an impressive range of a little over 300 yards, more than enough to be safe from pistol fires. The heavy cavalry are carrying rifles, so they don't have the ability to use fire arrows. Instead the heavier troops simply help cover for the light cavalry, and prepare to shoot at any enemy troops that they could see holding firearms, especially rifles that can punch through even their heavy armor and have more range than the bow. The guards that are moving to the roof of course became the main target of the heavy cavalry teams, firing at the guards with more effectiveness than regular troops, or even veteran soldiers. Obviously when the two party are both in visible range, their attempts on setting an ambush won't be too effectively.
The flames and smoke serves to force the enemies to move out from their position to engage the attacking bandits, so that their knowledge of the buildings would be useless. Not to mention it would fulfill their main goal of causing damage to the buildings and panicking to the peasants, which might disrupt the defender's formation and attacks, and possibly force them to put more effort into helping the peasants rather than fighting. What's interesting is that the bandits are actually just letting the flames do the damage, instead of actively killing anyone, even the guards are mostly ignored as long as they're not trying to attack the bandits.

"Damn they lit a fire! Quick lets move to the next, wait don't go that way!!", One of the guards shouted as a few went out in the open only to be shoot as they fired back at the bandits.
Moving quickly the fire began to go to building to building, The Guards both trying to engage the enemy well some of the locals tried to stop it as a fire could potentially burn the entire town down. Some fired back well others duck for cover. Though not as trained as the highlanders of this land they were trained enough to move in an organized manner engaging the enemy by firing then pulling back behind cover giving an endless stream of fire at the enemy bandits attempting to at least slow them down. But they knew there was no way to win not with the real Wyvern Clan Highlander Regiment not here. A few more would fall and some guards caught in a fire would also burn. Throughout this the fire began to move towards the mansion of the Viscount, being modest in size it was not as impressive looking at the capital area or other areas in the southern or central lands. Inside one could hear screams as the fire began to engulf half of the building, some of the guards pulling back to try to get inside since the Lady of Clan Wyvern was inside. Some of the locals as well began to get buckets to attempt to stop the fire from spreading as it was starting to becoming extremely threatening to the town and crops.
Off in the distance one could hear a horn, which of course it could only mean one thing... the Heir to the Viscounty the young lording Jorge Wyvern and the Wyvern Highlander Regiment had returned.

[Inside the city]
The return fire from the Paemir guards are pretty much as ineffective as the bandits' own attacks, being fired at the maximum range, it is difficult for even the cavalry with the greater level of training to hit their target. So it's not hard to expect that most of the shots fired either missed or simply hit some of the horsemen on non-fatal areas such as their arms or legs.
By now the flames started in the farms would have spread out to almost the entire area, burning any possible food ingredients to ashes, and continuing to spread as none of the defenders worked to stop it. But they hear the horn, and know the real defenders are returning, so it's time for them to leave. They charge to the opposite end of where they hear the horn had came from, and fire off a whistle arrow as they approach the door. As they move they drop off the remaining loads of Tear Gas Grenades and Flashbangs to stun any nearby enemies, and force the newly arrived army to move to save their people instead of giving chase. After all if they ignore the peasants and guards laying by the flames, it would surely be death for the stunned people.
-
[Outside the city]
"Dame... I mean boss, we got the signal, and the Wyvern Clan are returning."
"We'll do as we planned, aim for the base of the gates, blow it apart with our cannon!"
The Agnaktor adjusts it's aim for a bit, then fires it's 50mm Cannon right towards the main gate that they're face, firing several shots so that they could blast the gates down and allow the men inside to escape without engaging in combat. The attack also serves to stun any defenders near that gate that are planning to set up ambush or other further resistance, the appearance of an actual tank would also force the poorly armed defenders to think twice before staying to fight these enemies, rather than retreating to wait for the main forces. The possibly of the original few guards possibly being less willing to risk their lives after the actual army returns might also be a factor, more so when flames are continuing to spread in the city.
After the Agnaktor finishes it's job of opening up an exit, it would turn and zoom off towards the distance, heading towards the regroup point that was set for this operation. Leaving trails of smokes from it's smoke dischargers to cover it's appearance as it zooms off in the distance.

The fires continued as the attack stun many people the flag of the Wyvern Clan could be seen as the Wyvern Highlander Regiment arrived too late to give chase. On Horse back the young lording Jorge Wyvern saw his town on fire quickly turning to his lieutenant he soon shouts, "Ernest quickly have the men stop the fires! We must protect the housing and what crops we can salvage, if we don't it could endanger the entire town!!"
Ernest nodded then replies, "On it my Lord alright quickly move to put out the fires!!"
Jorge quickly moved on his horse to move to a nearby place to take out his binoculars to look at the retreating forms of the enemy what surprised him was not the amount of men but the tank that was with them. Normally a tank would be hard to come by if their were normal bandits which made him wonder who could of attacked. Regardless he had no time as the fires were becoming dangerous the regiment formed bucket lines and various forms of fire fighting began. Looking up he soon notice something that shouldn't be on fire but was, quickly moving his horse towards his home he soon saw half of the mansion was already engulfed in flames, screams could be heard from inside as he quickly dismounted to try to get over to help those inside. But as soon as he got near one of the guards of the city stopped him from going futhurer.
"My Lord do not go in the heat... its too strong we tried to save as many as we can but.. but the Lady.", the guard was saying which Jorge soon shouts, "Where is my mother?"
"My Lord...", the guard continued.
"Where the fucking path's name is my mother?!", Jorge soon shouted which the guard replies, "She managed to get her servants out in time but the door collapsed before she could go through. My lord the Lady is...", the Guard was saying to say which got Jorge in anger.
"No... no... no no no no! MOTHER!!!", Jorge could scream as the flames within Wyvernmill could be seen throughout the night sky.

After regrouping without losing even a single man during the operation, the team of horsemen cheers at their amazing victory. They were able to cause so much damage while having zero causalities against the enemies, it is as if they were blessed by the gods. They got off their mounts and proceeds to get some rest, tired after the battle and their escape after the operations. It might be strange to know that they are not bandits, or hired arms from other nations or region, but are from Paemir itself. Most if not all of the men here are those that have worries about the certain situation of Paemir, and on the path that three major clans in Paemir are taking their region towards. Some of these men were deserted soldiers, some were bandits, and some were just farmers that could not live anymore under the poor government of the three clans. If they could not back up anymore, the only thing they could do is fight back.
At first they sought help from other nobles that share a dislike towards the three Paemir clans, who directed them towards one of the best source of military training, the Gransela Clan of Exion. With quite a bit of payment, they received the highest level of training that they could get, becoming great horsemen and having more understanding of the high speed, hard striking tactics of the Granselian Cavalrymen.
Next they needed weapons, which came from the Trade King himself. To the nobles in the South, it is a great opportunity to have a new band of mercenaries that are friendly towards them, and could be asked to join battles on their side. With that in mind, supports were given in the form of discount equipments. Firearms, horses, rationing and ammunition, all were sold to them a very low price, allowing them to become an armed force of full strength. Then an opportunity came for them, the Empire hires them to help disrupt Paemir by attacking it's trade routes. Made out of people of Paemir, it was not difficult to disguise themselves for the operation, and get ready for their attack. To make it more easy they even hired a tank from Gransela, and had a well formed plan.
They were very lucky, or perhaps it's just that the Wyvern clan were unlucky, the attack happens to begin when the Wyvern Highlander Regiments left the city, leaving the city open for attack. The attack was carried out fast and hard, just like the training they have received, allowing them to do much more than enough damage than anyone could have expected it to be. Their major success will surely bring fame and infamy to them, as a powerful, rebellious force deep within the Paemir region, and one that calls for others to revolt against the three clans of Paemir.
-
The tank that were hired to go with them, decides to return to Gransela to report about the incident. After a few words were exchanged with the leader of the cavalrymen, the Agnaktor quickly heads back towards Gransela.

Hours later Morning
Hooded figures continued on the dirt road as the first place of farmland could be seen when arriving. As they moved they soon noticed something very wrong and odd as Igor was the first to figure it out.
"Hey Professor why is there black smoke in all this fa-", Igor soon said which after making a turn over a small hill saw what the smoke was coming from. Before them entire farmland had been scorched but at the mills if you looked futhurer you could see the town not too far where most of the black smoke was coming from.
"Ah it seems there has been trouble my dear Igor.", Professor Merlin soon inputted.
"What is going on?", Keiana soon said as her hood kept her face hidden as they finally arrived into Paemir. Hoping the nearest place of civilization would ease her burdern from the hard ride she never thought she would take.
Asher looked around he felt unease as he readied one hand on the revolver on his side. "Scorched earth... standard tactic used by raiders and Imperials, it might be better to skip-"
"We should check if there are survivors.", Keiana soon ordered which annoyed Asher to no ends.
"Princess with all due respect usually when something this major happens it never happens. Normally only to villages but this is a town and it could-," Asher was saying til he was cut off.
"That is why we must check on them, if there is survivors we must know what happened.", Keiana soon said as her horse soon began to move forward.
"Why I got the feeling this is going to be trouble.", Asher soon commented as his own horse followed.
Wyvernmill
As the horses arrived they soon saw many tents all over which made Asher even more wondering what the hell is going on. Their horses were meet with various men which he look at a nearby symbol which one would recognize as the Jade Company.
"Well this is surprising.", Asher soon commented as they continued down the camp that was tended along the side of the road.
Keiana turned to Asher like what he meant then like this was common to see this company soon asks, "What you mean? Doesn't the Jade Company always in every place?"
Asher's eye brow soon perks then replies, "Not really no... in the East, here and parts of the North Jade Company hardly ever shows up. In fact last time I seen them was years ago and even then it was small we talking only a couple of wagons here for a usual trade for furs. I believe I was with one of my friends at the time, though it was interesting to see their wares."
This of course meant the Jade Company arriving in such numbers that could only mean something major was afoot. Passing by he noticed a various dealers and even some regular populace likely from the town. The Common item on the market? Food, food and Jade Company made weapons. Of course Asher would never buy any weaponry since Paemir made weapons are actually better built just in fewer numbers since their handcrafted the old fashion way not mass produced... well not yet anyways. As their horses arrive he soon noticed a crowd not too far he wonder what it was they soon got off their horses and walked towards the crowd wondering what was going on.

"It's the middle of the night... whatever it is that you have to tell me about better be important, even Yumi and Oliver aren't awake yet and I usually wake up hours after they are... Weren't you hired by that band of mercenary to escort them to the Republic? You sure got back quickly... But no need to keep standing there, start by having a seat over there and tell me all about it."
The hour hand of the clock is still pointing at the upper right corner, a time that James would likely to be asleep like most of the world. So it took quite a bit of effort to summon up the strength for James to wake up, getting off his warm, comfy bed. But knowing the woman in front of him, he knows that it's likely to be something important, or else he wouldn't have to be waken up at this strange hour. So he forces himself to stay awake, while keeping warm in a bathrobe.
The woman, Artisa, is the one that commanded the Agnaktor that was with the 'bandits' in Paemir. In short she explained how the mercenaries received a request from their client to cause a bit of damage to the Wyvern Clan of Paemir, and they had decide to do a quick raid with Artisa only responsible for the final escape part. It turns out the raid was much more successful than they had expected, and much of the city was burnt to ashes.
"Much of the city was burnt down from the unexpected attack, little effort was attempted to stop the spread of the fire, and it quickly torched up the rest of the city."
"....Wait wait, hopefully you covered up your track, right?"
"Yes my lord, the Agnaktor is a fairly common tank in the South, most powerful mercenary groups would have one or two in their ranks, so I planned several decoys that would prevent anyone from knowing our involvement."
"Good, good... now, you seem to have came here with some recommendations, so lets hear them."
That is the reason why Artisa rushed back as quickly as possible, she needed to clearly explain the situation to her lord it is further spread out to other clans or nations, so that her lord could make use of the ideas she had in mind.
"If we come into the scene with help, we should be able to improve our image with the Paemir peasants and some of the nobles. Food and building materials would likely be helpful."
"....Hm, wait here for a moment."
James thought about the plan, then got up from his seat. A few minutes later he's back with a young woman in a similar apparel, who seems to be just as tired as James was.
"Artisa, this is Ruby, daughter of the owner of the Jade Company. She's someone that have a... close relationship with me, so she could be trusted. Tell her about your plans, she'll be the one that can make full use of the situation."
"Good evening, Dame Artisa, I'm Ruby of the Jade Company. I heard a few things from James while we were walking over, but perhaps you could explain it to me in more details."
"Yes my lady."
Artisa repeats herself, and tell Ruby as much as they know of the situation. By the time Artisa's done, Ruby has waken up completely, and you could see money symbols in her eyes at the opportunity.
"That sounds great! I'll have all the available resources on hand sent to Paemir right away, at a situation like that they'll beg us to sell them the stuffs even if it's 20% more expensive than the market price! I could see it now, carts after carts of wheat, lumber and stone, for carts after carts of gold and silver!"
While Ruby is fantasizing about the profit that she'll be able to make from the trade, James stops her for a moment to ask about the question he had in his mind.
"Wait wait, where would you get that much resources? Don't you have to talk to your father about this?"
"Haha! He won't mind as long as we make money, I'll have all the free resources prepared right away!"
"W-wait! Put on something first! Ruby~!"
Ruby ran out for a second before coming back just as fast, grabbing a jacket(that belongs to James) on the side and running back out again, leaving the two to stare for a moment.
"....Anyways, you get some rest, I need to report to the Lord about this. Ruby should have everything prepared sometime tomorrow, so you coordinate with her and see how much escorts we have to sent."
"Is it ok to wait until tomorrow instead of doing it now?"
"The men won't like it, besides you need some rest too. Your information is valuable, but I'll take you over that any day."
"T-thank you my lord."
-
[Paemir]
It's a few days later after the incident at Wyvernmill. It wasn't sure what James had said to Charles, and what Charles had told him in return, but the amount of escorts that was sent to Paemir were more than double the usual amount. A large caravan of trade carts and armed guards are heading towards the city ruins, heading towards the front gate. The Jade Company flag that's on some of the carts shows that they're from an ally region and not one of the enemies. The Caravan seems to closely guarded by well trained soldiers, those that attempted to fight the bandits from several days ago would be able to tell you, that the bandits are nothing compared to these fierce warriors. After they get close the caravan comes to a halt, with Ruby stepping out of one of them, who slowly walks over to the guards.
Ruby was too busy thinking about the profit she'll make, so she did not notice the other party that was trying to enter the city. She unrolls and holds up a piece of permit that was signed by both James and Charles, making it a solid proof of her identity.
"I am Ruby of the Jade Company, with permission from Duke Charles III of Exion and Dragoon James Wong of Gransela to pass through the area. These carts contain food, materials, and clothing that we plan to sell to the Republic."
She did not just say they have come to sell it to Paemir, as not only would that make it seem suspicious of their arrival, but also make them seem less valuable. What she wants to do here is to gain the maximum profit, and that could be done if she 'fish' out those that are willing, or is forced to pay to settle some of the problems they have in the area.
"If it's not possible to enter the city then we'll just leave, as long as the lord knows of our arrival then it'll be fine with us, wouldn't want to get thrown to the prison because someone are misinformed. Oh... you two are..."
Ruby seem to have finally noticed Asher and the Princess, so she take a light bow to the two.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Dragoon Rorke, and... my lady. I have heard from my close friend that you two would be passing the area, and he have left me something to give to you if I meet you."
Ruby had one of the guards head back to the Caravan and bring her a book, which she gives Asher. It seems to be a history book, containing a timeline with some events circled in red ink.
"Here you go, and he left me with a message... 'This is the repayment, it's up to you to understand it.', I don't know what he meant by that, but I'm sure it's of good will."
While they do that, the Caravan looks like it's prepared to leave, and they won't have too much time left if anyone wants to ask them for something. Perhaps it would be a good opportunity to ask for some help, in exchange for cold, solid gold that could not be digested?

Earlier when the Jade Company arrived the entire company was on full alert aiming their rifles at the Jade Company. After all they could trust anyone passing by especially ones you tended to dislike, it would seem like bad week for the town.
"State who you are and State your business!! By the order of Lord Jorge Wyvern the acting Viscount of Wyvernmill no one is allowed in the town!! At this moment Marshal Law has been Proclainmed in the lands of the Wyvern and your trade rights to pass through cannot be allowed to leave!! If anyone comes one step closer you will be shot, you have this single warning!!", the lead Highlander said.
Though it was the Jade Company was fully recognized caravan and even that permit, they couldn't take any chances. Even with the possibilities of supplies which are running low, they couldn't know if they were enemy or ally. Best not to trust anyone to protect the town after all marshal law was declared within the Wyvern Lands, which also meant all permits were voided in Paemir law and by that no one is allowed to move to villages or towns unless on military business only. Also meant that by right the Paemir Army can confiscate all the wagons if they wished by Paemir Law only of course.
During this Asher soon walked into the crowd, passing by hearing what is going on which perked his head. He soon pondered then thinks, 'Jorge would only do this if there was a war or something major happened... what just occurred well I was away?
As he walked he soon saw a beautiful woman walk up to him to introduce herself, the moment he heard who she was he went full skeptical. 'Great one of Exion Lackeys... what is with me always running into them?'
"Oh... 'him'.", Asher soon stated as she introduced herself which got a kick to Asher's shin from Keiana.
"Oh thank you Lady Ruby, I do hope he didn't have much trouble in finding it.", Keiana soon said which Asher was handed the book but when the next part was replied. Keiana's face almost lost it when she heard for you to figure it out, which meant he ran out of doing his job. 'That man, he always does this even when I met him as a child!! God Damn Lazy!!' Keiana mentally thought.
"Well that is expected.", Asher soon said as he heard what just happened with an almost disrespectful attitude which a second kick to Asher's Shin was added.
"Do not mind him I am uhh 'training him to be more polite... ha ha ha.", Keiana soon stated.
With that done Keiana soon noticed about the Highlander troops defending the town, their rifles were still ready to fire at the crowd. With that she soon was noticing the damage all over even when coming, it would be a bad idea of those 'items' were going else where, when they are required here.
"Say Lady Ruby... you said your going to the Republic, but doesn't this town need the supplies more?", 'Anna' soon asked which was she was suggesting something.

It is one thing to seize the vehicles of a regular company, but it's a completely different story for the Jade Company. Not only do they have their own trained guards, but they are usually accompanied by Exion troops. Touching their goods would pretty much be the same as a slap the the face of the powerful Exion clan, and could lead to war. The troops would likely to fight against those that would attempt to disarm them, making it even more difficult to lay a finger on the Caravan.
Ruby did not seem to care about Asher's attitude, and continues with a smile.
"Oh I don't mind, though Jade Company is closely connected with the Exion clan, we're not one of their servant or follower, just trade partners. As for the book, I'm sure what little he did would be enough to explain what is necessary to be said from him."
She turns to leave with the Cavaran, but looks back at the two when Keiana asked her question.
"Perhaps, but I am a merchant, and merchants care about two things. One is to make money, two is to keep their credibility. You cannot simply ask us to give away our goods, just because it'll be helpful to some people. Those that are willing to do so are not merchants, but charity organizations. Merchants, are not willing to simply give things away, don't forget that there is nothing more expensive than being free... perhaps if the people need some of our goods, they could purchase some from us? But at the moment we would not be able to set up shops, if we don't have the permission to enter the city."
Ruby waves her hands, to show that there are little she can do. If the Wyvern guards won't let them in to start with, then she won't be staying here any longer, and it'll be best if she continue towards the Republic.

When Ruby began to leave Keiana soon quickly says, "Please one moment Lady Ruby I didn't mean to simply give it away."
Which brought Asher's head a turn a second which only mean one thing. Keiana soon turned one moment to Asher which got him to look at her and he shook his head which she continue to give more eye lashes towards him which made me sigh.
"Fine...", Asher finally admitted defeat after all no point in arguing with a Lamont they usually are known for being stubborn to a fault.
"Just give us an hours time we will convince these guards for you to allow to bargain with them.", Keiana soon proclaimed which meant convince them to actually 'pay for their services.'
With that Keiana soon turned to Asher who merely turned back to his horse taking out something and putting the book away with him turning his head. He soon says to Merlin and Igor,"Watch the things for me I won't take too long."
With that Asher moved towards the Gate with a scroll in hand as he walked up the guards rifles were all aiming at him.
"We said no one allowed in by the Order of Lord Wyvern!! Stay back or we will shoot.
"Stand down Highlander, I am Dragoon Asher Rorke of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet clan. I am here on official military business with Lord Wyvern of Wyvernmill.", Asher soon said with backbone, anyone looking either would look at him with disgust or try to hide, after all in Paemir Dragoons were considered 'dangerous'.
"How can we tell you tell us the truth!! Do you have proof!!", the Highlander soon shouted which Asher threw the scroll towards a nearby Highlander to hand over to the guard.
"That should be proof enough, official seal of the High King for those who have passed the Trial of the Dragon.", Asher soon said which the highlander gave it to his superior.
Looking over it he soon says, "This looks real enough... fine then you may enter."
"I have one request I have to escort this young Lady... Lady Anna inside she is also required for the meeting.", Asher then added.
"Grrr... fine but you best leave your weapons here.", the highlander said as he disarmed and Keiana soon followed right next to him. Soon both were allowed in to see Lord Wyvern which to convince him to allow the Jade Company to barter its wares in Wyvernmill.

Ruby goes back to the Caravan and had the carts wait, the bait has been dropped into the lake, now all it takes is to reel it in. She have plenty of time, unlike the hungry, cold people of Wyvernmill. Though there some that looks like they want to just push aside the merchants and dig into the food, the fully armed soldiers standing around the caravan would force them to think otherwise. You can be hungry for a few days and be fine, but several rounds of lead shot into your body would surely get you killed on the spot.

As Asher and Keiana entered the town they soon noticed how tense the situation was, the town was being patrolled by the Highlanders instead of the normal guard, the people were busy working throughout the town as well. As they continued Keiana continued to look at the damage and how 'small' this was this place compared to towns in the central or southern lands. In fact never once visited much anywhere else it felt it was a totally different world to her. One could see the road itself was not paved like the cities of the central is instead dirt roads with some form of walk way for carriages for the main roads. Looking around one could see entire families looking at them with suspicion as one mother moved her children inside their house. One thing was common amount these people though their face looked prideful one could tell something was off.
"That is because of the famine.", Asher whispered as they moved about which perked Keiana's head up when she heard him say those words.
"What do you mean, what famine?", Keiana soon truthfully asked.
Asher's head perked which soon he realized of course she wouldn't know she was sheltered to a degree after all. With that he soon continued as they followed the guards towards the command post with beginning what he meant, "What you haven't heard already its been quite common in Paemir in the last 3 years especially. Right now hundreds of people are dying every week and could be more before its done with. Bad harvest can lead to this as well forcing ourselves to rely more on hunting is making the animal populations grow lower and lower. Of course the lords are well fed and some rich but the poor have suffered the most."
"Wait why could their be a famine in Zalboria couldn't your clan leaders make deals with others, especially the Jade Company I mean after all most do..", Keiana soon said which Asher cut her off, "Why would we when this all started because of those very same people. All thanks to your father and those in the south Paemir has suffered ban of trade in Paemir officially by the crown, anyone seen trading with us is taxed heavily to punish this region for support Mountain King Neville. Not to mention there always been bad blood between us and those in the most prosperous lands. They abandoned us to our fate in the last Imperial War and made us do most of the fighting in the Fafian Rebellion. Of course the people of Paemir resents those who live in the central and south."
"Wait abandon you in the Imperial War wasn't it because the Might of the empire was too-", Keiana said which Asher corrected her, "No that is the official history recognized under the crown. The real story is three days before the Imperial invasion word was received that the impending doom began its march towards the Kingdom two months after the fall of the People's Kingdom of Lalmir. Under at the very front who lead it was the Emperor himself it was more so urgent that our allies who managed to hide in Lalmir gave up their very lives to give this information. It is because of that Paemir lasted a week against the Imperial Legions. Under back then Margrave Cuillin he saw the opportunity to stop the invasion here in Paemir, he sent letters without fastest riders 3 days in advance of the first official day of war to get the other clans to unite and come to Paemir to meet the enemy on the field of battle.
It was then within a day before the invasion began that word was received by the High King himself he even ordered Margrave to fall back to Paemilium and to withstand a siege from the enemy. That that Royal Army and the Clan Combined Army will come in five days time. Some of the Rorke branch and Bachelet brnach saw this plan as suicidal and took half of their forces into the forest of the south and mountains in the east, due to easier to defend with mountains then to engage in open combat or a siege.
When the Emperor and his three Legions arrived our first skirmishes were easily repelled. It seemed nothing would shake their legions they soon ravaged Paemir burning entire villages to the ground and put some to the sword and others enslaved. When Paemilium was besieged the walls withstood the cannon fire and the rifled muskets were good enough to kill Imperials at the time. Hours turned to days and brave Margrave Cuillinn waited for relief, knowing full well reinforcements were coming to stop the Empire and end the scourge of the Central. When the fifth day came nothing... no trumpets or horns nor drums, Margrave Cuillinn thought maybe they might of been delayed.
Regardless the brave Highlanders of Paemir withstood the siege for two more days. Even when outnumbered, out classed the Highlanders never once gave up open even as the walls fell and the gates shattered. Fighting in the street by street the Highlanders continued to defend their home at any costs. In the end Margeave Cuillinn would make one final defiance and die at the hands of a Legatus and right hand of the Emperor. His daughters gang raped to death and him crucified in top of the higher tower for all to see. Never once giving up help would come that never came, not once no one came in fact the Duke of Exion convinced the High King to not move forward to allow Paemir to fall and instead train an army to fight the Empire in open battle. The Empire soon moved to Magnesport after the fall and sack of Paemilium which allowed him access to the Imperial Navy, though even that was delayed due to the Royal Navy under back then the Sea King with alliance with Margrave Caden Kasoymor mounted an naval assault on the Imperial Navy.
It would take the Emperor four weeks to finally begin invading in ernest as we continued to harass their supply lines with the motto 'Remember Paemillium and Margrave Cuillinn!'. Til the 'Defiance of Hallow Haven', Paemir continued to fight til the bitter end. Eventually the east too would fall and most who were not apart of the central or south. Not once the Royal Army moved instead prompted to stay back, the only ones who even fought were Clan Gransela and that is because they were mercenaries to begin with. That and the Prince's of Raoceria came to our plight seeing the Empire a threat to even them. That is the truth history not some fairy tale about the small kingdom defeating the empire no it was simply using their own people as shields well they sat safe in their home preparing to fight."
With that Asher and Keiana continued to move to seemed to be a camp that was near the now ruined mansion of Clan Wyvern. There troops were standing guard at the nearby large tent that was put up with the symbol of Clan Wyvern could be seen on its flaps. The guards had their 899 Bolt Action Rifles to their side as well the Saber Bayonets were already on the rifles. The Highlander would give a standard Zalborian Salute with their hand and soon both would enter Lord Wyvern's tent.
"I told you I wanted that done three hours ago!! By the Path's name the enemy can show up any day and the defenses must be increased!! No No No! I also repeat myself no one is allowed inside the town!!", Jorge soon ordered at another of his lieutenants.
"My Lord May I have a word with you.", the highlander soon asked.
"What is it now if its that Jade Company they can go suck by balls and the answer is the same!! I am quite busy right now especially what has occurred!", Jorge soon shouted which gave a moment for Asher to intervene, "You quite a bad mouth especially in front of a lady."
Jorge recognized that voice as he turned to see no longer then his old friend Asher Rorke.
"Rorke?!! What in the Red Demon's Blazes are you doing here?!", Jorge soon asked and half shouted.
"Well my good old friend I am here because I am an official Dragoon now but more importantly other matters that needs discussion. The kind that is more in the private realm.", Asher then suggested which got Jorge to soon orders, "Everyone else out now."
"By our leave, My Lord.", the lieutenants soon said with a salute and left the tent. With Asher him and Keiana who was looking at the style of how a tent was after all it was first time in a war tent for her. This of course was at first ignored which Jorge then says, "What is it now Rorke, who would've thought you become a full Dragoon. I still remember you didn't want that part of your heritage years ago."
"Yes well sometimes life and fate has a twisted sense of humor. Regardless about that the reason I am here.", Asher soon said which Jorge soon replies, "Of course... wait who are you? I thought I told everyone to get out."
Jorge's action was of course towards Keiana not like he knew who she was and the disrespect which would cause anyone to go on their knees in forgiveness. Keiana soon chuckles then replies, "My Lord Wyvern it is a pleasure to meet you, I always heard that the heir to Wyvernmill was a hot head and bad mouth, it seems it was not a exaggeration. Please forgive me but it is I who wishes to discuss with you the matter that is on hand. I am Lady Anna of the central lands of Clan Greenmere, I have come on the behalf of my Lady Princess Keiana Lamont of Zaltium, I am sister to her handmaid Kelaine Greenmere."
"Oh a central lady? Great just more trouble which continues to pile up on my list of things to do. I do not know where you come from my Lady but in Paemir we just don't show up unannounced especially in times like these.", Jorge replied which Keiana soon counters, "But in the times of these it is best safer to come unannounced, after all a little bit a risk is not so bad if it gets the job done yes?"
"Well, Asher you just found yourself a fine woman that brings brightness to my heart in the realm of another stubborn woman. Reminds me of your mother when IS the wedding?", Jorge soon said in a sarcastic joke.
"Never Jorge, got the wrong idea again.", Asher soon answered.
"Aww for a second I thought I might become a god father like Lord Falcon did with he elegant thinking.", Jorge then said with a sad dead pan.
"Don't bring that man up... his elegance is annoying.", Asher replied which gave Keiana a thought of pause of who they were talking about.
"Well regardless let's get into the matter of hand. So what brings the two of you to my good nice little town of Wyvernmill? Mind you the charred remains of it.", Jorge soon asked.
"Well I am not so good at asking but listen to Lady Anna, pretty good at convincing.", Asher replied which prompted for Keiana to walk up taking off her hood to reveal her face and hair. Jorge soon almost taken aback the beauty of Keiana and even noticed now how well endowed she was as well.
"Good Lord Wyvern I am here on business to meet the Mountain King with great urgency it involves the fate of your entire land. This raid you may call it could be the tip of the iceberg, I am here to help the lands of Paemir in my Lady's name to make amends between our people. You wonder well why bother, my Lady doesn't wish the realm of Zalboria divided into obscurity and the looming threat of the Empire. After all we must stand united against their aggression.", Lady Anna soon informed Lord Jorge though Asher knew most of this was a big fat lie.
"Oh she does now? Why would the Weak King's little daughter want to do this. Wouldn't this make her look like she is choosing sides it may not end out as pretty as she hoped. Also how will you go about this we after all in a bit of a situation here.", Jorge replied in a dead panned way.
"That maybe my Lord, but as her will is mine own, I will make the amends of this land at the cost of my life for her. The way I will start with of course what I can see before me. Outside these walls is the Jade Company.", Keiana soon said which internally wanted to make Jorge pay with this disrespect.
"Oh those green money loving spoiled brats? I do say they don't belong in my land especially how they over charge for all things they do.", Jorge resorted.
"That maybe their merchants and to them the only thing that matter is the almighty Zalor, the shiny part is what makes them a bit on the crazy side mind you. But that is exactly what I am saying now, right now this land is going through a famine I hear and this specific town is low on supplies in general. How long do you think your people will survive? Come winter there will be nothing left for now your lucky for its still spring and you still have time. But for how long can that last? The raiders burned half of your fields, they ransacked your storage, damaged large portion of your windmills. In my opinion not very long, right now outside in a large caravan going to El Merserra for trade in the Southern Republic of Edustros to make more of those shiny Zalors. Instead of giving away things to another nation why not keep it here in Zalboria? Even if its only temporary you do need all the relief you can muster, your men need to be in top shape as well and wasting time trying to keep everything secure will get you no where. Instead why not fix this place and begin working with others to end these bandits? All you need to do is allow the Jade Company in and my Lady will repay you for what you used to purchase from them. After all couldn't good will be best for our people?", Keiana said with much logic.
Jorge was silent to listen on what she said thinking all his options then soon says, "Give me some time to think it over alone."
With that Asher and Keiana exited out of the tent, and soon were escorted back outside the town to meet with Lady Ruby once more.
