When the two returns from their meeting with the Jorge, Ruby knows that everything has been settled, and she won't even need to put her own effort in having the Wyvern clan change their decisions. She stayed on her seat and looks at the two, she don't seem too concern about what they have for her, and looks like she already knew what the answers would be.
"How did the meeting go? We'll be leaving if they're not going to change their mind, after all we can't just leave this much goods here. If they're not going to buy then we'll be heading to the Republic, don't forget, time is money."
She picks up a book that contains some of the numbers and details related to this caravan, the data inside clearly shows that there's more than enough goods in the carts to keep these people fed and warm. It won't be enough to do it forever, but enough to keep everyone alive so there's enough time for Paemir to solve their own problems... unless more problems arises.

Jorge soon sighed once Asher and Lady Anna left, which left him with what to do. Personally he wanted to spite the Jade Company as a much of greedy merchants out to steal from the people of the Paemir. But also saw Wyvernmill suffered too much damage, as well it could affect the entire Paemir Region in the worse way possible. With the food supply now on the verge of no more Paemir was caught in a perilous decision, his father would likely of just call for aide from the other clans in Paemir and ignore the Jade Company. Which is normal procedure, he wonder what that Lady Anna said was true as well he noticed how Asher and her seemed closer then they both appear. Strange as it is, he wished his mother was still be alive, after all she was the voice of reason within Clan Wyvern. He stay like this for fifteen minutes wondering as he looked at an old photograph of when he was young. It was an image taken when they were visiting repairs on one of the windmills within their lands. After more thought he soon remember the information that he heard rumors of, that there was a new Governor of Lalmir and begun systemically reforming its local laws and even heard of rumors of mass arrests of those speaking against the Empire. It seemed the real threat was looming and Paemir was at its weakest, with so much concentration on building factories within the region and modernizing the army the nobles have forgotten about the food supply issues. With what logic can they win if their people starve? So in his own heart he knew... he knew Lady Anna Greenmere is right and maybe the Princess did care enough to help the people of Paemir. To take such a risk that could cost her own fate against her father? He didn't pay attention to Royal political affairs but this bad blood between the Lamont brothers have begun to spill over all over. Everyone knows the infamy of the Mountain King on his great military campaign against Clan Fafia, and the kind of soldier he was. Regardless right now the issue is to his people, these bandits are a threat whoever they are they are well equipped, well trained, and if he fears are true the most possibly the first wave of a potential Imperial Invasion into the region.
"Mother... what would you do.", Jorge soon said as he looked at his map.
With Asher
"He needs time to think it over.", Asher soon mentioned to Lady Ruby.
"I think I may have convinced him, we will see soon.", Keiana also added as she took a seat near lady Ruby.
As time passed a few minutes turned into an half an hour, and within that time everyone in the area soon saw the gate open. Within it a few soldiers came down marching towards where Lady Ruby would be armed with their rifles as they moved forward the Captain of the Guard soon came up, one could easily tell this man was no push over a veteran of many battles he was middle aged. Likely one of the most experience men within the Wyvern Highlander Regiment and his beard also began to show grey. As he walked up he took off his helmet which was more pronounced then the others as to his rank then to Lady Ruby.
"Lady Ruby of the Jade Company I am Captain Bors the Captain of the Guard of the Wyvern Highlander Regiment, and second in command under Lord Jorge Wyvern General of the Wyvern Highlander Regiment, current acting Viscount of Wyvernmill and Lord of the Western Paemir Clan Forces. Under his orders I am to rely his forgiveness of rudeness earlier with your arrival and have recognized Jade Company's will to help the people of Wyvernmill. You are hereby permitted within the city and with the negotiable terms of purchasing of much needed supplies for the Wyvernmill populace. As well you are asked to help in the blustering the defenses of Wyvernmill with the Granselan Clan Forces til such time you leave Wyvernmill. Those are his terms my Lady, what will be your answer?", the Captain soon asked.

Ruby waited until the captain was finished before she reply, after all it's the Wyvern clan that's in the rush here, she have plenty of time to deal with them and enough for them to waste with a series of introduction.
"If the Lord of Wyvernmill wishes to make purchase from the Jade Company, then by all means he is welcome to do so. As long as the customers are satisfied with our prices, then we'll sell to anyone that do not harm our business or personnel. As for the Granselian guards, we have only hired them to keep us safe on the roads, if you wishes for their help then you would have to talk to them yourself."
She waves for someone in the caravan group to come over, and the person does so with an escort of a squad of elite soldiers. To the surprise of some people, the leader of the Granselian troops is a young woman in full military apparel.
"How can I help you, my lady?"
"Artisa, this is Captain Bors, the Captain of the Guard of the Wyvern Highlander Regiment. Captain, this is Dame Artisa Burswell, the Captain of the 4th Armored Regiment of Gransela."
"It is an honor meet you Captain."
Artisa was the one that let the bandits out of Wyvernmill a few days ago, but only a very selected few knew about this. She herself knows that it wouldn't nearly be as easy if the Wyvern Highlander Regiment was around, but nevertheless she is confident that even in such case she would be able to win in the end. After the introduction, Ruby explain to Artisa about Bors' request, Artisa gave it some thoughts before giving a nod and an answer.
"Very well, normally we would have charged a fee for the extra tasks, but I see what Wyvernmill is not in such a good state. As a fellow noble of Zalboria, we too would hope that no such disaster would fall to our allies and people of our kingdom. So this time we would do it for free, as a sign of friendship from Gransela and Exion."
As long as none of the bandits return then it would be a fairly simple task, but their taking a risk by helping the Wyvernmill, and asking for no payments in return to show that they're not just known for their strength but also for their honor and being noble hearted. Perhaps the Paemir nobles should just get over their own problems and accept a friendly gesture from their fellow nobles.
Now with the permission from the Wyvern Clan, the rest of the caravan slowly heads into the city with some of the troops guarding them. In case that there are anyone in the city that would rob their goods, or if the bandits had stayed in parts of the city. But they did not unload anything yet, there's still something very important... the price.
"Perhaps you two would like to come with me for the negotiations? You two seems to have... connections, and that might help in the case that they make any unreasonable demands just because of the bad blood between Paemir and the Southern noble clans. I really see no point in that, money is money, it won't look any different no matter where you're from."

When Captain Bors met with Artisa he soon wondered if she was true military material, regardless she sounded and acted the part. He soon replies, "Nice to meet you Dame Burswell and thank you for your help. As for the free of charge I can give you my thanks on that, normally Granselans usually prefer to be hired then working for free. But then again we aren't on normal circumstances. Once negotiations are over since your the commanding Granselan officer here you will be invited in the next military meeting. Now please excuse me I have other urgent business to attend to."
With that done Asher, Keiana, Merlin, and Igor followed the rest of the Jade Company into the town which lead to the main square where most of the caravan was settling in. When Asher heard that he was about to protest but Keiana had other plans.
"That would be a good idea, after all I am here to solve many problems.", Keiana soon half truth and half lied.
Asher just shrugged and looked about noticing that Dame Burswell minding her own business. What was strange Asher noticed many of Granselan knights are women. He heard many rumors but never thought it much now he was wondering what it could mean. That and Gransela doing something for free he wondered if James' own men had other plans or ideas.
"Let's head to the negotiations likely be back to the same tent as I went earlier.", Keiana then said which she would lead the party towards Lord Jorge's Tent.
When they entered the flaps the rest of Jorge's military aides were already there with chairs and Lord Jorge in the middle.
"Welcome to Wyvernmill Lady Ruby and Dame Burswell.", Jorge soon greeted.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Lord Jorge, I am Ruby of the Jade Company."
"Artisa Burswell, my regiment will help with the defense until the caravan leaves."
Artisa didn't say much, but she does wonder what the man in front of him would think if he knows that she was the one that carried out parts of the attack on this city. But she's only here as an escort, the main player here is Ruby, and the bargaining chip she have with her are the carts after carts of supplies that Wyvernmill needed the most.
"Let us go straight to the deal shall we? I won't hide it from you, we're not too willing to unload our goods here. As we did have several agreements with some merchant guilds in the Republic, which means if we don't get the goods to them, we would have to suffer some loss. But we were requested by Lord Gransela to bring in the goods, so we won't charge you any profit, just enough for the goods and 20% extra so that we could pay the penalty to the Republic."
If what Ruby said was true, then it would mean she's not ripping them off. After all it's normal for a penalty fee to exist in the case of failing to carry out a contract, and there's little or even no way of telling if there is really an agreement or not. Even if someone would go ask the Republic merchants about this, they would not be able to get any actual information, after all they would not want to show others of the details that might result in a drop in profit.
"Before you think that our price is expensive, I can ensure you that no merchant would accept even this price, anyone of them would try to make more money off the situation. In fact a good number of them would more likely to wait a few more days until you are more desperate, and are forced to pay whatever it is that they ask for. This price is already a discounted price, and only because we're here to help Paemir."
Of course, even if Jorge refuses then Ruby could just leave, Wyvernmill would simply starve or freeze while Ruby could just sell their goods to the Republic like they have said. But they have to remember that it is James himself that asked the caravan to come, so refusing this already low price(or so Ruby says) would surely not be good for the relationship between the other nobles and Paemir, and make Paemir's image even worse as a region that takes personal feuds over the lives of their people.
"If you agree, I can write up a contact, once that is done my men would unload their goods. If not then the caravan would leave as soon as possible..."
"And we shall continue our original job of protecting the caravan, it is quite dangerous to simply let them go undefended when there are bandits running around in Paemir."
Artisa follows with a slight reminder, which is understandable. Their original job comes first, their assistance here is just extra work out of good will, if Wyvernmill won't accept it then she won't be able to do anything more for them either.

Jorge looked at the statistics and he wondered if was truly the market value. It was still quite expensive then he last remembered and wonder if their just playing the normal upping their price game, Regardless with not much choice in the matter and luckily the treasury was untouched by the Bandits which continued to plague his mind on what was their plan. Jorge soon brought out a quill and ink then replies, "Before you continue how sure are you this is discounted price of the market value? As well all this good will, what benefits would it be for your Company. After all penalties sometimes are very drastic especially for a nation currently at war. I do hope you did hear the news correct? The Central Empire of Baladorax and the Southern Republic of Edustros just reignited the war sparking the 9th Imperial-Republic War in the last 40 years. What say you those penalties won't simply increase with the conflict?
During this Keiana was hearing it all she suspected this negotiations would hit this little snag but being on the road she didn't hear of the conflict reigniting which was news to her. Of course Paemir receives word along with Kollelkost before anyone else in terms of breaking out of war being so close to the borders. Keiana wondered if Jorge was making sure there wouldn't be a price hike if the Southern Republic demanded more penalties. Asher meanwhile just sat in silence wondering how this will all end.

"Of course, if you don't believe in me then you can go check yourself."
That said, 'market price' often gets affect by the situation and stability of a region. The market price Ruby is referring to right now is the price in Paemir, which even during peace time is much higher than that of the stable and rich Exion. With a large band of bandits running around, and with Wyvernmill mostly in ashes, the 'market price' in Paemir would be even greater than before. So in a way, she was not lying at all, just not informing them all that she knows. After all it's not the Jade Company that affects the market price, it's the combination of all the trading in the world.
"As for benefits and the penalty, of course we have heard about the conflicts. But so, even as a company based in Zalboria, we would not like to see one of our regions suffer... even though it's already not doing so well in the first place."
It's a light jab to the side, but she's telling the truth. No matter what the reason is, Paemir is still a quite poor region compared to the others on the Southern parts of Zalboria, and their lack of willingness to work with others are not helping them at all.
"In case Lord Jorge don't understand how trading works, the penalty does not increase according to situations, it is just a part that is set in the contract to be paid when a party fails to meet the agreement. Even if they request more, it would not be a part of the original contract, and would not have the needs to be followed through. In this case the 20% extra price would be able to cover the amount, after all I don't believe you're just going to buy a single bag of grain, Wyvernmill needs most if not the entire caravan. That amount should be enough to cover any fee that are necessary to be paid off."
She then takes out the permit that she have shown the guards earlier.
"As for the reason for the good will, I was asked by Lord Exion and Lord Gransela to deliver assistance. The price I'm showing right now is only because Lord Exion is willing to cover parts of the payment himself and..."
"Lord Gransela have given the orders to assist with the defense in the case that Wyvernmill asks for it."
Artisa finishes up for her, giving the reason why the Granselian troops are assisting without asking James himself to make the decision.
"You'll have to ask the two Lords if you want to know why they have lend Paemir a hand, perhaps it would be a good choice to accept the hands of others, instead of allowing pointless grudges force your backs towards the ledge."
Of course, being a high positioned member of the Jade Company, which is a Exion based company, her words could pretty much be seen as a message passed to Jorge from either Charles or James. But it would be up to Jorge, Asher, and Keiana to decide who was the one that said it, and what could it mean.

Jorge listen to it all soon nodding, though the helping hand maybe right Jorge still had some pride even as he was about to do something unpopular.
"True helping others is good and all... but tell me 40 years ago where WAS that helping hand? When the Empire came did those in the central or south lifted a finger? Well exception of Gransela everyone else abandoned us to be conquered like used as a human shield. Not that you will know even now we talk of the stories of the war, especially the one of Margrave Cuillinn's last stand. Under orders he waited for relief which never came, why? Because he trusted those in the south and central regions. But what that got him? It only got him and his men death and a war with countless losses that piled Paemir neck team in dead bodies. Well the likes of Exion sat on their asses for months on end not even remotely sending help in any front lines. Well that is til the enemy went through all your so called allies and friends which forced them to fight. Though I still find it funny the first time southern and central fought on the field they were literally massacred who thought arrogantly the Empire's Legions were exhausted. I will never trust those in the south or central no one in Paemir ever will again, that is unless you can prove to me you can.", Jorge soon said which the last part was thrown at Keiana which meant she had her own work cut out for her.
"She will Lord Jorge, though you may distrust those merchants of the central and south the Jade Company have never once broken their word. Lords may have but Jade Company has built its reputation on fulfilling contracts to the bitter end.", Keiana soon added in before he can continue.
After a brief moment Jorge continues, "Still even though I do not trust you sometimes you must make deals with the devil or people you particularity dislike. So far I only trust Asher here, and he has given his own trust to Lady Anna. Survival after all is far more important then damnation, and I will give this one single chance for you all to prove to me your so called word. I looked at your prices and not with much choice, I agree to your terms of the cost of the supplies. Though I will say we will not need your weapons, after all Paemir's own are standardized as the same but different from your own Company made and are uncompilable with our ammunition."
With this Jorge waited on Lady Ruby's response, an expected one if anyone with a good understanding of Paemir culture. A culture built on defense of their very homes, extremely prideful, and trust that is only given to they believe are truly trustworthy. During this Asher continued to watch how this would end, which surprisingly he wasn't shocked, Jorge after all like him sometimes is pragmatic. Well that sometimes is still there which could end out badly.

"40 years is quite a bit of time Lord Jorge, so I won't say I'm clear on what happened back then. But if Paemir were really abandoned as you said, then shouldn't the region be empty of population, and piled with the dead?"
"According to records, Exion and the other Southern clans expected Paemir to be able to hold off the Empire, if they had followed the original plan. At least Gransela had several tactics that would have been able to produce a better result than Margrave Cuillinn, and we would not take any responsibility for any defeat due to the failure to follow the plans that had been set up in advance. Don't forget it was Exion that defeated the Empire in the end, and the Southern clans that helped rebuilt Paemir after the damages were done, you can't shift the blame of the defeat onto anyone else."
The war that happened 40 years ago was of course one of the main topic for officers to study, and though it would have been a difficult battle, a good number of experienced commander have determined that it was not an impossible battle. James himself even claim that he would have been able to completely keep the Empire within the Paemir region, and defeat them without the high number of casualty that Cuillinn's command have resulted in. Not only do you need strength, but you would need a clear mind to defeat a powerful enemy such as the Empire, and what Cuillinn did at the time are seen as a foolish move by the South. Hiding in the woods to the South of Paemir might provide more cover and defense, but it also means the Empire could easily cut off your supply line by surrounding the area with their large forces. It also prevent your own units from retreating to preserve your own military strength, and force you to fight a siege battle which would reduce your mobility to zero. This is a common knowledge in parts of Exion, the military based clans to be precise, after studying the terrains and having numerous simulation battles.
While Exion focuses more on economy and internal developments, Gransela have are more focused on understanding military arts. Much of the past battles are recorded first hand from multiple sources that had participated in the battles, so that more accurate knowledge of the battle would be recorded, and they have great pride on their work and abilities. Mercenary work allows them to make use of the tactics that they have learned from the records, and develop new ones that are more suitable for their usage. It is because of such knowledge and experience that refined their military strength, and allow them to become one of the most skilled military in the South.
But it looks like Artisa and Jorge might get heated up by their arguments, so Ruby cuts in to break the conversation, and focus more on their deal. She quickly writes up a contract with the mentioned details, including the amount of goods that the Jade Company are providing, and the amount of money that Wyvernmill would have to pay in return for the goods.
"That would be fine, the food, lumber, stone, and clothing that we have brought with us should be able to cover Wyvernmill's damages for a few months. I'll have the merchants unload the goods, and Wyvernmill can take them to the storehouses after the payment has been met."
After the contract has been signed, Ruby waves for one of the guards to pass down her orders, so the caravan would begin to unload boxes after boxes of goods for the Wyvernmill guards to deal with.
"A day should be enough for everything to be done, our caravan would leave at noon tomorrow. If possible I would like to ask Lord Jorge to provide us with shelter for the night."
Though it is not uncommon for Granselian to sleep in tents due to their nature of being the frontline of Exion, it doesn't mean they love to live in them, having a decent house would always be a better living condition than the tent.

With the argument was about to start thanks to the quick thinking of Lady Ruby, Jorge soon stopped to hear what happened next. With all said and done Jorge soon says, "I can provide you with the space not burned down the INN itself still stands so you can have much better sleep there with fresh bed sheets. Though some places might be crowded for the rest of your men, after all a lot of buildings were burned."
With that Jorge soon gets up and then says, "It was nice doing business with you, if there is anything else I believe it would be a good time to get to work."
With that many of his lieutenants got up to leave, with Asher and Keiana getting up Asher was about to turn but Jorge soon says, "Not you Asher I need to talk to you alone privately."
Asher soon nodded leaving Keiana with Artisa and Lady Ruby.

((James is skipping his turn.))
With that Jorge and Asher were left alone, Asher soon walked up to his friend soon asking, "So what you think?"
Jorge soon chuckled then replies, "That we been haggled. Regardless Asher right now Wyvernmill is in trouble and I had no choice to make do with this. Though it would go through our treasury in Wyvernmill quite much, we need the supplies in this time of need."
"True though, you were about to get in a argument with that Dame Burswell, she does realize those plans they suggested never made it to Paemir right? I mean the last order recieved by Margrave Cuillinn was to fall back to the Paemillium and last til relief came.", Asher soon pointed out.
"Of course those in the central and south would change things in their own propaganda but isn't that always the case? Regardless Asher I require your expertise once more.", Jorge then said with a reply as he got a bottle of wine serving himself.
"Oh what is it now Jorge? I hope its not troublesome.", Asher then replied.
Taking a sip of wine he soon chuckles then replies, "It would, I want you to inform my father and others on the Paemir Military Council what has occurred. I cannot do it myself being in command of the Wyvern Clan Regiment I have to see protection of my clan's lands and engage the bandits who attack at a moment's notice. I want you to inform him and the others, we may need support from the other regiments or at least be at guard. Though I do suggest go to the Magnes Clan's home town of Magnes Port, they need to be informed first and it is on the way to Valhedge so it would be best for you to make haste. I mean doesn't your Lady Anna wish to meet with the Mountain King soon as possible?"
Asher soon sighed on what Jorge soon says then grumbles, "Fine... it is on the way. But you also know the Lord Magnes' nephew hates my guts right?"
"Yes, but so does your own cousin Validar. Regardless even if he will not see you directly I will give you a letter to give to them to demand their audience. After all we of Paemir's own defense comes before personal vendettas.", Jorge replied as he began to write the letter which he finished it in an envelope with fixed seal of the Wyvern.
He soon got up gave the letter to Asher with he soon says, "I do hope your have a good night's rest my friend you do need it."
"Eh, its nothing Jorge, I will get the letter to Lord Magnes for you when I get to it.", Asher replied pocketing the letter.
"Good, now don't keep women waiting yes? Have a good night.", Jorge replied which Asher nodded then turned around.
The next morning
"So Asher where are we heading now that we are done here?", Keiana soon asked as the horses were being resupplied and fixed up.
"Well we have to inform Lord Magnes of what occurred here before we head to the regional capital. It is to the south of here near the sea, so it would be hopefully not an eventful trip.", Asher soon replied which brought a sight of glee from Keiana's face.
"Sea? You mean there could be a beach there right?!", Keiana soon said excitingly which made Asher raise his brow.
"Yes there is... wait don't tell me. You never seen the sea before?!", Asher soon exclaimed.
"Of course I haven't!! My father has never allowed me to see the sea even though many of my family members have!! Come on lets get going!!", Keiana said which made Asher pause.
Jorge was not too far giving his farewells to both the Jade Company and Asher's little group.
"Nice doing business with you, as a southerner you are not so bad as I thought you would. Regardless I don't trust you guys just because you helped us this one time. It would require more proving to me before I trust a southerner.", Jorge soon said to Lady Ruby which he soon bowed and left to say bye to Asher.
With Asher Jorge soon shook Asher's hand then says, "I do hope you have a safe journey."
Asher shook back then replies, "Like wise Jorge, please tell me if you need help again."
With that Jorge smiled but then pulled Asher closer then whispers, "I heard everything about the sea and beach. Your so lucky, just imagine that Lady Anna in a swimming suit eh?"
Asher for a second was thinking he didn't know who was Keiana which made him feel the urge to face palm but then when the image of Keiana in a swimming suit. He soon thought up the image but then says, "Its.. its not like that!!"
With that Asher pulled away and rushed to his horse, with Jorge soon laughing, "Oh I know you Asher!! Just take the plunge Asher you will not regret it!!"
"Ya, ya, ya, you go back to being General now. I repeat you misunderstanding the situation!", Asher yelled back as he, Keiana, Merlin, and Igor began their trek towards the south.
With that the next part of their journey was about to begin.

After moving the sold goods, and having a good night of rest, the caravan begins to leave Wyvernmill. Ruby and Artisa waited until the Princess and her group leaves before heading over to Jorge to say their good bye.
"You can give your thanks to Lord Exion and Lord Gransela, it is the two of them that asked us to help. But the caravan would be departing now, thank you for your payment, and I hope that would be enough for you to calm the waves."
Ruby kept it short and went back to the caravan to get everyone to finish packing up, while Artisa leaves her own comment.
"I have already said what is need to be said, so I'll just give you one last advice. If you can't even defeat a handful of bandits, no matter what numbers they might be, you wouldn't have a chance against the dread Empire. If you really want to talk, then first prove your ability, and not just let your pride get in the way. At least, not much of the Kingdom really treat Paemir as high as you all treat yourselves."
Artisa then turns and head back to the caravan as it begins to leave, along with the groups of guards under her command.
-
{A long distance later}
After making sure they're not followed, or observed by anyone, the caravan stops to get some rest. But strangely, some of the men lifts out some cargo, and places them by a large boulder. These are the goods that Wyvernmill did not purchase from the Jade Company, weapons and ammunition. They were then ordered to dig on a place nearby, and were able to dug up some chest filled with some riches and money. If someone would make a calculation, then they would notice that the treasures that they dug up, are worth roughly the same as the weapons and ammo that were unloaded.
Being one of the most loyal team inside the Jade Company, they know not to ask any questions, or mention this to anyone. After the treasure are loaded, the caravan continues and leaves.
A few moments later, after the caravan is out of sight, another band of cavalrymen comes to the area. They seem to know the location, and come straight for the cargo. After quickly checking the goods, they take the boxes and retreats from the area.
-
[With Asher and Keiana]
At a long distance away, further than the range of the human eye, a team of mounted men are watching the group using binoculars. At this distance, even Newtype ability won't be able to help, unless you focus on the targets, after all Newtypes are only people with a bit more ability and not superheroes. They slowly move and adjust their position as their target travels, waiting until they're at the perfect location for the cavalry to attack.
"Asher Rorke, I'm quite sure his old man would care if we have his son, even if he doesn't seem to stand out among the clan..."
"Captain, I heard that boy became a dragoon."
"Hmph, without a dragon he'll be the same as a regular foot soldier, we have fifty men, what could he possibly do?"
The group did not hurry to attack, they allowed their target to travel for a few days, so that they would not be as prepared for a sudden attack. After all it's a distance away from the sacked Wyvernmill, it should have less chance of encountering the bandits... or so a normal person should have thought. They waited until night time, and had a clear look towards the direct of the target so that they wouldn't have to light up their own torches.
"Capture the boy, I want him alive... if he resist then we're fine with having him on a wheelchair."
"What about the girl? And the two guys with them?"
"The girl looks noble, we'll take her too, should be a good bargaining chip. As for the two, we don't need burdens."
"Understood."
The bumpy terrain of Paemir might make a direct charge less effective, but horses are still horses, they would still be able to provide a charging force that are unmatched by the feet of men. In fact the terrain would allow light cavalry to move even more effectively, allowing them to use the terrain as cover and defense. It'll be another story if these are mountains, but the powerful beasts won't be stopped or slowed down by much by the hills.
Charging through the night, the band of light cavalry charges towards their target. Though they're stomping the plains and making a lot of noise, unless the target group is skilled and experienced at military detection, they would not be able to completely know where the enemies are coming from without the help of light. But light itself is a double-edged sword, as it would also direct enemy attacks towards your own position.
But the fortunate part for Asher and Keiana is that they wanted to capture the two alive, so they did not use their short bows, and simply throw weighted nets at the two. Merlin and Igor is another story, Cavalrymen that targeted the two had no restrictions, so they're not going to hold back in trying to kill the two with their sharp blades.

As the ride continue Asher, Keiana, Merlin, and of course Igor made their way toward Magnes Port. Though Riding itself was making good time Keiana was enjoying herself well Merlin and Igor were observing the various things on the road. But during all this Asher himself was on edge, with the bandit attack occurring in a major town meant these bandits were more then they seem. This alone made him very wary of things, but when he began to ride he began to wonder something odd about this.
'Odd... Jade Company arrives so quickly when word of the attack didn't get so far. Supposedly they were off to trade with the Southern Republic, what is quite odd is... they normally don't come into Paemir to do so. If bandits are so bold to attack a town, it made him wonder... is the Empire involved if so, then even the roads would be unsafe.'. Asher still thought this through the ride still cautious in everything around. When they passed the last village it was quite a long ride away, and they were entering Magnes' Clan lands which are more highland then the farm lands.
"Asher something wrong?", Keiana soon asked as they continued their ride in the day.
Asher was quiet for a bit even Merlin and Igor soon noticed his different demeanor. Asher soon sighed then replies, "I got a bad feeling about all this, Jorge is concentrated about these bandits but I been thinking... bandit attacking a town itself is a rare event so rare, I am thinking what are they planning? They didn't go in to kill but instead burned buildings and raided the food storage. You see normally one wouldn't think of it but they blandly ignored the jewels and riches. A normal bandit gets everything but here feels like..."
"Ah... I see what you mean there young Asher Rorke.", Merlin soon chimed.
"What.. what you mean?", Keiana soon said though learning politics the actual military mind set was not her strong suit.
"Igor explain it to the girl.", Merlin soon said which Igor simply sighed.
"Look Princess, it means the bandits are not your normal bandits. In military terms they are likely mercenaries or other people disguised as bandits who has a goal set in mind. Here in Paemir as the young Asher Rorke have said have been going through a food shortage and famine. Though Bandits are bold in raiding in specifically just targeting the food, one would think this was a military operation to weaken the region even further.", Igor soon informed her.
"Oh, and this means?", Keiana soon asked.
"It means it was to draw the military away from the roads and away from patrolling the region with normal troops within the Wyvern Clan region. It draws the troops to defend their home base leaving the villages only defended by their local militia. As well it would make it easier for bandits to strike innocent travelers who are on he roads.", Asher then informed her which now she put two and two together.
"Wait you mean.", Keiana was saying til Asher soon nodded.
"Its not safe right now, in fact being out here I suspect or wouldn't be surprised if there is bandits lying in way well he head to Magnes Port.", Asher informed her which she soon nodded.
"So what then young Asher Rorke?", Merlin then asked.
"For a bit we will act as normal and for a so many miles we will walk to allow the horses some rest. I want us to get to Magnes Port as soon as possible, even if we must make the horse go beyond what they can do. Igor how much supplies you think we need if we go this many miles?", Asher soon asked as he threw the map at Igor to look at it.
"If we leave half of our supplies we can easily do with light travel why?", Igor soon asked.
"Its a hunch, for all we know I would be completely wrong but you will see at night fall.", Asher informed.
Night Fall
The Camp was created and a fire was put up as well the pack mule was tied so easily be visible. If one looked it would seem the camp was quiet due to the late hour and no one would be awake. One could also smell food in a pot to allow the smell could be in the air. All was quiet and when the calvary men charged towards the camp would be greeted... with no one within the camp. It would be empty and one would only see the mule and a few items with supplies left in the camp.
Elsewhere
The four horses were riding harshly, through the darkness, though Keiana protested Asher would have none of it. He didn't feel it was safe in the middle of nowhere the best plan of course of action was to ride throughout the night without stop or sleep. They made camp and waited til it became dark which they moved in the darkness, with luck will have it no moon light was out as it was cloudy this night. They made their move in the dense fog, riding hard towards Magnes Port. Normally it was three days ride with three stops at night, but with them riding hard they would cut it down if they ride all night and day towards their destination. They also avoided the roads all together, using Asher's knowledge of his home land they took very hilly routes which allowed Asher when once they got to the top to look with his binoculars. With bandits being anywhere he didn't care if Keiana complained earlier, he wanted her to get to Magnes Port safely and there she can have a nice sleep in bed for all he cared after the fact. At least Asher kept all his weapons and valuables on him leaving everything else was a pain. Again Asher has lost most of its luggage, but he wouldn't take chances. Out there bandits roamed the land and even if the town wasn't as safe as it should be with the recent assault, its better then being surrounded by potential attack from anywhere.
"Asher... we need to stop I am getting tired.", Keiana soon said as the horses continued to ride.
"We can't... we need to keep moving if there was bandits out there our camp by now would be overrun.", Asher then stated as if was fact.
"And if its not? I left all my clothing behind that cost a lot more then most things! Not to mention we lose a night's sleep!!", Keiana complained.
"A night's sleep lost is better then bandits preying on us if they are out there. If it was a mistake then I will make it up for you in town. If not... well let us hope our few hours advance is enough to get to Magnes Port.
"Grr... fine!!", Keiana soon replied with distaste.
As they continued to ride Igor soon says, "Hey I got an idea wouldn't they know we are heading to Magnes Port? I mean if I was a bandit I would prey anything heading towards the major towns... I mean easier right?"
"Hrmm maybe your right... alright lets slow down for a second to give horses some water.", Asher soon said as they slowed down and dismounted well giving water to the horses.
Asher quickly lite a match but used his jacket over himself to see the map to not let the light go through. Looking down he saw where he was two villages were south then Magnes Port, in fact wasn't too far from where they are heading, as long they keep riding through the night they would arrive at the nearest village. Looking there was the forest of Valhedge which was under direct control of his own family's clan then saw how far their distance calculating their riding time. Blowing his match up he soon turns to his companions then says, "Alright we are six hours away from the nearest village.and a day and a half away from Magnes Port. Here is what I suggest, we head to the village which it would be morning when we arrive. Once there we will sell our horses or trade them for new ones to allow them to rest. Then we will ride hard towards Magnes Port with all due haste. When we get there only thing we can hope the message gets to Magnes Port in time, if we can the Magnes Clan Regiment would then bluster the defenses of their villages and send out more patrols then normal. Luckily if we can get there we can then take the eastern mountain path into the Southern Paemir Mountains which would be hard anyone to navigate. Even if bandits prey on people only those of my clan know the path best, not even those in Clan Magnes knows it."
"Sounds like a plan, do let us continue my young boy?", Merlin soon said mounting the horse well Keiana was helped by Asher on to her horse.
"This is silly Asher how cautious can you be?", Keiana soon said with disdain.
"Princess, please be quiet I in no circumstances allow you to get hurt or captured by bandits. The moment that happens is the moment your father the High King has an excuse to declare Clan Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet enemies of the state and the Paemir Region to be invaded by the Royal Army. I will not allow this to happen nor screw ourselves to oblivion when the Empire comes after the Paemir is done in. That and your my responsibility I promised to take care of at the cost of my life.", Asher said as Keiana was set on her horse.
"Don't make your life feel so worthless.", Keiana soon replied.
"Its not... its to protect you and that alone is enough.", Asher soon said going back to his horse leaving Keiana to bite her lip on the exact meaning of those words.
With Asher remounted once again the four horses then began to ride towards to the nearest village with all do haste, after all they had til dawn to get there. They can only hope no one was following just as harshly they were riding.

Finding the camp empty, the first thing they did was being alert at an sort of ambushes that might be carried out by such situation. But after a short moment of watching, they determined that the camp is empty, which means their target has ran away.
"Tsk, chase after them! Tracker!"
"Already working on it! They seem to heading South!"
"Messenger, tell the main group of this, have them send some reinforcements out to cut off their routes. It won't matter where they're heading for, if we could reach it in advance then they won't be able to do anything about it!"
It didn't take long before they found out about the direction of their targets, before chasing after them at top speed. Though they too have been traveling without much rest, they're well trained soldiers, so they'll be able to travel faster and for longer periods of time than most of their targets. Another factor that affects their movement speed would be the amount of supplies that they carry, and the horses that the two parties mounts. While horses for traveling tends to be more suitable at moving long distance without much tend, warhorses bred for light cavalry uses tends to have great maximum speed and acceleration, allowing the light cavalry to have quick and sudden movements. In exchange, both types of horses lack the charging power that a heavy warhorse would have, and the ability to carry heavy weight on their back.
Being trained horsemen also means they'll be better at their riding, allowing them to travel faster and with less fatigue to their mounts. The only problem is that to follow their target, and to see their tracks better, they have taken out torches to light their way. By doing so they abandon their stealth ability when they travel, but it'll allow them to move faster than one that's moving in the dark. It would also force their target to slow down by being more careful and alert, which would give their allies more time to move on ahead, just to surround their target.

Asher and company were making good time as their horses kept on riding hard, being with an head start also help much. As the time passed they went up on a hill Asher for a second turned with his binoculars into the distance and due to how dark it was made it more apparent they were being followed.
"Asher what is wrong?", Keiana soon asked.
"Looks like my hunch was correct, we are being shadowed. If their good they are tracking us in some form even in this darkness, this is bad though their quite a distance away their making good distance with light. Luckily for us I know these places without light and know which way to take to maximize our horse riding. Alright they must've figure we are to head south, Keiana when we go to this hill which is a few over there we are to take a hard left... it is the only way to lose them would be to get to the Valhedge forest then keep heading south. As well Valhedge itself is defend by my Clan's own regiment and there is a outpost not too far away from the forest. If I am correct they also would see those fires in this dark as an oddity, we need to get as close over there as possible.", Asher soon suggested which got the rest of the group to nod back
With that the four horses continued to ride hard to where Asher said to go, their advantage was the sheer darkness, thus were able to continue moving quickly. Most would slow and be cautious but Asher knew that the moment they slowed is the moment the shadows catch them.
