Repair cost should only be there if the defender fights inside the city, or if the attackers got inside the city, it won't make sense to take damage if you're fighting in the middle of no where.
And yeah, I'm starting MS development, right now they won't be too useful in killing ships, but they'll get better.

Well what I'm asking. Is, do we all have to start at the beginning of MS development?
And the thing I was saying about suits not able to pwn ships. Is that in UC. We see Amuro take out a musai with just a bazooka. Several shots, but still. And later we see suits with just beam rifles doing the same.
Course ships in UC are around 450 meters to 650 meters. There armor is accordingly thick. But you get shows like Babylon 5 which are 1,300 meter ships with armor 8 meters thick.
At that thickness. MS don't have the huge advantage they're shown to have in UC. Even in B5 the fighters are shown not to be ship killers, but excellent damage, and worth having.
It'd be nice to see this be a more well rounded scifi rp. Where it isn't just about an MS arms race. But at the same time isn't all about ships.

I'm saying 'feth it' to MS and sticking to semi-conventional units with the occasional super unit thrown into the mix, kinda like how the Imperium of Man has the whole 'Armored Battalion with Leman Russ tanks and a Baneblade Battalion Leader' deal.
I personally find MS to be rather overplayed in some instances, and I think that, while they make for good space helicopters, high-speed space fighters would probably do just as good as them.

@james, no shit. Carlos, yeah, same. I'd rather see something like B5 than Gundam, but honestly I've never seen B5. I really don't like Gundams outside of Gundam. The occasional "mech" is cool to me, like one of these things, but more than that it starts to get iffy for me. But no, your level of technology can be wherever you want. But if this makes you more powerful, it'd make you more expensive. @the Artist Formerly Known As Dagbag, 'feth' yeah.

have ta agree with the whole start at the beginning for MS...and more of a balance would be nice...I was thinking of maybe starting off with a unit or two like the suits in Heavy Gear. and then from there different ships, and land vehicles.
the idea for paying a one time fee to start up operations on another planet seems fair to me.
and Mikhail...are you someone else I might know but with a different name?

Epic fail, Kellen. Epic fail. I see you have accepted my title. Also, as far as I can tell for now the RPG will begin where everyone (except Carlos and Pitman) start with 1 planet (your homeworld) and a $7500 Paycheck ($5000 starting bonus + $2500 normal weekly check). Starting conditions with those two may be different since they're more space-bound.

Actually, I was going to discuss with you about my home worlds...
My three 'races' come from three separate planets. One near the Core, one at the edge, and one that sits half-way between...
Now, I can change this up, but, at the minimum, I'd like a single planet that's Core-bound and has two artificial orbitals with practically no worth to them.

"Practically no worth"? How little worth are you talking here?
And when you say Corebound, you mean within the Core itself or just near it?
You could maybe have these other planets exist but you're only going to be able to start in control of one, so figure it out. I may give you these satellites but it'd influence the TW.

As in, they'd take up $500 each of the TW or the world itself, so just factor how much the world would normally be, and then subtract 500 for each satellite and apply to each accordingly.
As for the other worlds, I could dig with it. Perhaps a 'falling out' occurred during the history of my nation and these worlds need to be 'included' back into the fold? I could probably work that into the history somewhere...
You have to think, these three evolutions come from three different worlds and evolved differently due to their environment. I dunno. Whichever you think would work out. I'm still working technicalities out on my history.

If we did that, it would end up that your homeworld is worth $1500, then both satellites $500 for a total of $2500 as usual.
If that's what you want, I guess I could do it. It may hinder you though since you have more ground to cover and have the potential of losing the satellites individually.
Regardless, where do you want this to be located?

Preferably in an 'Arcturus' sub board in the core, as that's the only star I can think of that has a name anywhere near the Core.
Barring that, somewhere in the West.
