Your homeworld has to be somewhere in the North, East, South, or West, not in the actual Core. Arcturus is the East, so if you want to be in that constellation you have to be there. Should I just give you one of the planets there?

I was trying to write my first ship profile. But then I tried to put crew and infantry. The costs are through the roof.
A ship at $3000. Evan's example infantry at $70. It takes only 42 to equal a $3000 ship.
So let's cut the cost in half. And sell in platoons of 10. 10 is an easy number to deal with. So Evan's infantry is only $35 for 10. It would take about 850 of these to equal $3000.
Similarily. We should just make a set rate for crew. Basic crew with no weapons or armor. $15 for 10 I think sounds good. Though for James and I. He has nanites and I have organic enhancements to offset Zero G affects. We should be at $20 for 10.
I need these to help factor cost for my ship. So let me know if it's a no.

I'll take whatever planet in Arcturus. I have no preferences.

I have no real "crew" on my ships so I'm leaving that more to you to figure out.
As for the platoons, hmm. Could be good, we'll see how it works, and it does make more sense. Everyone can cut their infantry in half for price then. If you've already bought things adjust the costs and keep in mind these are now platoons.
My main concern now is the price of vehicles such as tanks. Should that drop as well?

Hmm. I hadn't considered that. Since as pirates. I might not have them.
Well the infantry was more damning because of how many you might actually need. If someone wanted to create an entire armored column. I suppose the cost would be pretty high. Jame's tank is 150. For him to field 20 tanks, it'll cost him the same as one of his ships. It's up to whether we think that makes enough sense.

Well ships are supposed to be pretty powerful. 150 is pretty cheap already for a tank I'd think though.

I think a price drop would work, as the high prices of the ships limits the amount you can send to attack, and you'll need to leave some units to defend areas, so it won't be too much of a problem to make other units cheaper.
But for Mobile Units like my MS and G-Walkers should stay at their price now, as they're pretty powerful and at least for me, a new technology, so even if we decide to get a drop it would be better to get it later in the game.
So my suggestion is... drop the price for Vehicles and Fighters, leave the Mobile Units.

Everyone can cut their infantry in half for price then. If you've already bought things adjust the costs and keep in mind these are now platoons. My main concern now is the price of vehicles such as tanks. Should that drop as well? If I may interject? I believe that starting price for all units should be halved as the starting purchase. This will allow for the nations in question to expand early in their own systems, giving them a bit of an edge and actually accelerating the chance for RP instances. For example, most of my units are rather pricey compared to a lot of other nations in this RP. My baseline cruisers are going to cost upwards of 5-6K due to tech, size, and crew compliments by comparison to my tinier destroyers that are going to be worth 1.5K due to lesser tech and armor. If I wanted to put fighters on these cruisers, it's gonna cost me a couple of paychecks to do this, and, as it is, I'm going to be starting rather handicapped in comparison to the rest of these nations except for maybe the Bloodbones and the Alanticans. I'm just saying, maybe it should be considered?

I am thinking maybe a 25% drop for vehicles and fighters (rounded up to the nearest multiple of 5).

Or I could just increase the starting pay a little more. Or you could set up some smaller vessels to be used alongside that are more affordable. I dunno.
Regardless, part of what I wanted is for the sizes of fleets NOT to get out of hand.

Actually, a paycheck increase sounds like a good idea. 10-15K maybe?

OKAY, here is the deal. Listen up.
1. Everyone starts with a paycheck of $10,000. Next week, you'll get a normal paycheck.
2. Everyone's infantry is now half price and is to be considered a platoon of ten units.
If you see anywhere that says "x many infantry" in the neutral defenses, assume those are that many platoons. Precursor Drones should also be considered platoons.
3. Everyone's vehicles (such as tanks and similar) and fighters/bombers have a 25% price decrease, rounded up to the nearest multiple of 5. This helps avoid prices ending in anything but 0 or 5. There are some exceptions to this, such as larger, more powerful vehicles. These are still sold as single units.
I am sorry for all the sudden changes, but such is life.
Some things that still need to get done: 1. Defenses for some locations. 2. Planet descriptions for some locations.
Both of those I should be able to do on my own by tomorrow or soon afterward. As long as everyone has defenses at neutral areas within their starting region right now, I think we'd be safe to start.
3. Finish over-viewing peoples' units. Carlos is mostly in charge of this.
By the way, even if I haven't said so, you're all approved as factions.
In the future we'll start to introduce new other things, such as research.

Evan, just a note, the primary world's name is actually Skaugra. The people are known as the Triumvirate or by their respective racial identification.
