Being one of the few nobles of his age that actually led armies into battles, James was able to answer his set of questions without much problem. He does notice that some of the questions seems much too difficult for someone that has just obtained their knowledge from reading, but guess that the tests wants to see how much experience does the would be Dragoons had.
But he did not finish first, not that he has problems with his test, but rather he's answering his questions with more details than he is required. Putting not just the correct answer, but some more of his own thoughts on existing tactics and organizations. But he does have a bit of problems too, having little knowledge on situations related to the sea, he could only roughly relate to those situations. Another point brought up from his answers is that he tend to refuse tactics that might cause harm to civilians, believing that the peasants are ones to be defended instead of milked down to their last coin. He also seems to prefer battles on the field instead of urban defense, due to the damage that would have been done to valuable areas.

Well Asher continued his own tests his own answers would be quite different from James, in his own view he didn't see much of a big picture when fighting in battles. In fact he only saw the battles before him he would prefer using tactics that only lead to victory or survival for that battle. When choice to choose between a peasant family or a family in the city he in fact choose the third answer. Have the peasents abandon their homes towards the city and defend that instead. As well he didn't like open battles seeing as Paemir Region itself is always outnumbered in such a situation. As such he would choose to fight in a city, willing to blow sections of it to weaken the morale of the enemy. As well he would choose ambushes or force the enemy from the open field into either a hill region or forested, then do hit and runs. As well prefer to lay traps though his own answers would have more damage done to a region he saw it would lead to a victory in his own mind.
As the test finally came to a close so far so good no one had even attempted to do anything with the written test. A Dragoon gathered all the tests where they were brought to Sir Rafulton, he soon gets up then says, "We will have a small recess in the breakroom. There you will wait til the final results of the first part of this Trial. You will be allowed food and drink, please remember the results of the test will show up exactly at 7PM. Which then we will begin the next part of the trial, in another part of this building. You are Dismissed."
With that everyone began filing out, Asher had a bit of a worried face thinking he may have failed. Sir Rafulton noticed this but said anything, regardless there was no true right answer. No in fact it was how you gave your answer told you what kind of leader you will be. Some will give a bad answer well others would give too good of an answers, of course some of the answers themselves namely logical and normal tactical ones had to be answered correctly, an Dragoon must understand tactics and that of following orders. As everyone left towards the break room Sir Rafulton soon began to work on overlooking all the tests.
In the Break room
Asher was thirsty more so then he ever had been, drinking a glass of water helped him a bit as his nervousness were finally calming down. There was a reason why he disliked doing school work, there was no point he rather learn in the field then learn in some closed door room. That and the grass and woods of his home was enough reason to forget the world and peacefulness. He would drink around four glasses when he finally calm down. Looking around he noticed 'some' of the apprentices were a bit too chummy, as well everyone saw him in disgust. Of course word got around about what happened at James speech and his so called ties to the Mountain King. If only they knew he just barely meet the man yesterday, in fact those cruel stares were the same at home. Only a few actually and actively cared. What he saw was too much resentment and hate among the elite against a certain class which continue to boil him to the core.
'Just because their from some fancy Clan they can look down to other clans. So what the east is poor!! Have they seen the border at least once in their life? Have they seen the raiding, the raping, the destruction people do in such a region? Why can't the east ever be strong on its own? Why must we always listen to the rich of the central and fight against hubris of the Empire?', Asher thought as he was giving off hostility a certain someone would be able to sense in the room.
Truth be told Asher needed to control his emotions, his own father scolded him a lot for that. That it was his weakness, never once he saw his father give his own feelings to others. No in fact he only saw his true face with his family but to others, he was different. Like a mask that is cold, and ruthless enough he would draw his sword or gun. When he did it, he didn't do it to threaten you, no in fact he only does that when he intends to kill you. That is what he had to learn to become more like his father. For now Asher to some food on the table only for others not wanting to move in fact they would grab almost of it before he arrived. Leaving him only scraps, of course when the next part of the Trial began he would give them all a thrashing.
With Arvel
"So how was your test?", Arvel soon asked James as he got a fruit on his plate then began to eat.
For Arvel this was alright to eat, though there was a chance at poison it would be unlikely to happen. Still he was on guard when he grabbed a fruit. As he looked around he noticed most in the room were giving off a bad vibe towards Asher Rorke, almost like they simply wanted to kill him now.
"Why do I got a bad feeling, people are going to be killing each other very soon in this room? At this rate their all going to attempt to kill that Asher Rorke kid without even thought.", Arvel commented as he ate.
He didn't truly didn't care for the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet boy, he was just another obstacle in the way of the Trial for him and James. But he at least was honorable enough to not do it here in fact he would never think to kill someone here.
With Sir Rafulton
As he continued down the test he soon heard a knock into the room he was over looking the written tests.
"Come in.", Rafulton soon replied which he didn't look.
"So what you think of them?", a voice soon asked.
"Well what you think? So far most are on average at best except a few exceptions.", Rafulton soon replied.
"Ah, that is so nice, I do hope you changed the food at least?", the voice then replied.
"Of course I did especially after that breach into the kitchen. Whoever had a boneheaded idea to poison the food seriously grits my teeth. Anyways why you are here anyways? Aren't you suppose to protect a royal?", Rafulton asked the woman before him no other then Kennocha Rorke.
"He sent me to make sure things went as planned, never the less the danger still lurks. If you don't know the threat to 'them', it will happen again just like it almost did ten years ago.", Kennocha then replied.
"Yes if it does I would regret it... to think their moving in now of all times and we do not know who or when they attack. Last time it cost us a High King and a couple of Lords. But now? I am not sure of course back then you were only what twelve?", Rafulton then asked.
"Thirteen but close enough to remember what happened. They want the three of them and now of all times is the best time they will go after them. Sir Rafulton, at least allow me to guard the Princess Keiana from then even if from the shadows.", Kennocha soon begged.
"High King Kylan will not approve especially with Neville as your liege lord. Then again half of the time this King has been a fool, fine I will tell you where she will be during when they likely strike. I partake it will be during survival test?", Rafulton soon replied.
"Most likely because its the only time all three will be at their weakest, as well even the guard would too busy keeping crowds in order. Whoever this the leader this time I think their good, except that misstep earlier this hooded man has so far managed to get his mission done. My liege did say to keep an eye on their kind, especially what happened last time.", Kennocha then replied.
"Well I am almost done with over looking these if you want you can see both your brother's and James Gransela's tests.", Rafulton soon said as he slid over the two papers.
As he saw her over look it her face soon looks a bit surprised then looks up with a face that showed you didn't.
"Yes I gave them tests that normally is not given.", Rafulton then replied with a knowingly smile.
"Well I am shocked at how opposite their replies are, both are right in their own way but at the same time both have faults. James cares for the commoners too much and will be his own downfall, whereas Asher's use lowering morale down is effective is also costly. Strange how Neos can be the same yet so very different, anyways I better get going or people will talk.", Kennocha said as she was beginning to head out.
"Oh by the way, when you get back home tell your father Achmetha Rorke thank you for the Imperial Wine that you guys raided that one time. It is nice to know you all know how to properly plunder. As well send my regards.", Rafulton soon said with a smile.
"It is a way of life of Paemir, everyone has to be harsh to some point, it is survival of the fittest in our lands.", Kennocha said with a smile then she left.
"Survival of the fittest huh... isn't that always been the case?", Rafulton soon managed to say.

Gaining some rest after the exam, James was just leaning on his chair when he noticed Asher. He clearly saw the worried look on the other man's face when he finished his exam, and guessed that he didn't do too well. But the part that caught his attention the most is when Asher was sulking on the side, showing heavy signs of being bothered by something.
After a few moments, he turn his attention away from Asher, and at Arvel who just came over to talk to him.
"It was alright, not something that couldn't be dealt with. As for him, I don't see any efforts from him in trying to mend the situation, all I see right now is him sulking about why are these things happening to him, without thinking about the reason. There's no reason for me to help someone like that, more so when he is the main cause of the problems."
Giving off a light yawn, he looks around in the room.
"The rest of these guys, I doubt that they have any experience in actually kill anyone themselves, so I'm not too worried about that. You should be more worried about the ones that you're not sure about, those are the ones that plan in your back."
He knows that several of them would pull off some tricks in the future, but there's likely to be more that he did not know about. After all it's a lot easier to deal with visible enemies than hidden menaces.

The televised parts of the trial weren't set to begin right away, until the actual competitions started up in earnest. No one would find it very interesting to watch a bunch of teenagers stumble around through a maze of hallways and then fill out some tests, at least, that's what Cadan wagered they'd be doing right now if the test hadn't changed in the last century or so. Which he doubted, these lot weren't creative enough for that. While the pirate wasn't too interested in watching the other parts himself, it did give him some time to screw around while the queen was out mingling and watching for the outcome. She had a vested interest in this through her ties with Neville, but Kasorymor thought the whole thing was pretty crappy with the 'changes' and all. Funny thing about Cadan, he didn't like being shot at, and he liked having his men shot at even less. Someone was going to have to pay for that, and his time during the trial was dedicated to finding out who. Goes without saying the big problem here was finding out who the culprit even was.
The margrave had a pretty good idea, but he'd need some dirt before making any real assumptions. One thing was for certain though, that monster and three dozen automatic pistols didn't just come out of nowhere....though he did appreciate the chance to swipe a couple, he'd have to study those later.
While the logical part of the test was going underway the islander ducked into his ship and changed into something a little less conspicuous. Much as he liked that dress uniform, it stood out, and for now he didn't want that. The mask had to go too, but that wasn't something he was very fond of ditching, a suitable replacement would be required. For now he slipped into a standard sailor's uniform, there were hundreds of men dressed near identically in the harbor district alone, so it'd be almost impossible to pick him out from the rest. Dealing with the face issue proved a little more troublesome, and it thus sent him rifling about through his personal effects (and loot) to find something to cover whatever it was he didn't want seen.
"Aha!" He eventually exclaimed to himself, being his room was empty, when he tugged a leather facemask used by the western clan's soldiers. Honestly, he couldn't remember where he got the dreadful thing, but supposed it didn't matter. "Probably picked it up after a brawl somewhere. Eh, suppose it'll do me fine."
After slipping that on he slinked off the Leviathan again to head back into the city. It wasn't all too busy luckily, a lot of the common folk left to go grab the best seats ahead of time to watch the trials in person...or hide out in their homes until the inevitable crime wave will have passed with its conclusion. The idea had him shaking his head, but it didn't distract him from his purpose. Cadan didn't really have a singular set location in mind for where he was going; rather, aiming to cast a wide net over the various seedy hole-in-the-wall establishments that cropped up around Zaltium City's harbor district. He knew for a fact there were a handful of bars and gambling dens around here that catered to sailors, smugglers, and even the odd bandit and other type of brigand. Kasorymor typically dealt with the first two more than the final demographic, but he wasn't very picky. All of them were good for dealing information, and his contacts with those types ran wide and deep - what he said to Gransela in the Grand Hall during the feast was not an exaggeration. The sailor very likely knew at least someone on every boat in this kingdom and the next.
And he was going to take advantage of that today by shaking down the local gangs to find out who attacked him, and whose ass to kick for it. With that in mind he shouldered open the door to a particularly smokey tavern and disappeared inside after casting a furtive glance back and forth to be sure that no one was following too close behind.

At the Tavern
In the city there was of course many sailors who come to the capital for one reason, one most important was for the booze, another is the women, but most of the time was to either get richer or sell their illegal weaponry. As the smoke, laughter, as well calling for food usually happened. The bar itself was usual seedy character's galore and when the door opened various faces turned to see who came in. He looked normal and even wore a leather mask. They soon turned back to their own tables figuring it was just a normal day, oh how wrong they would be.
With Asher
Asher continued to eat til Validar came up to him he soon took note of him with a shrug which then Validar slammed his fist into the table.
"What is it now Validar?", Asher soon asked in a bit annoyed voice.
"Well you been silent all this time but more importantly.", Validar soon said then went lower whisper, "What the hell was with that entrance? For sure I thought you would be stuck in that prison!"
"Well maybe because I am not such a jack ass to stay put? Why are you bothering me again Validar? Did I spill your milk or something?", Asher soon asked.
"That is not the fucking point!! You know fine, I just hope you die in this for I am not. You screwed up our reputation with your... well you!! I am going to go eat some cake, see you later.", Validar soon finished he low voice rant which he began to walk towards the cake.
Asher soon got up til he noticed a familiar blonde woman pass by him. Vivien Choel then whispers, "I wouldn't eat the cake if I were you."
Her eyes told him all, for a second he was going to let Validar just eat it. But.. well fuck Asher didn't want his own family dead even if he hated his cousin.
"Validar wait!! Don't eat the cake!!", Asher soon shouted for everyone who began gathering to get a piece which Asher soon jumped on his cousin.
"Hey get the hell off of me!!", Validar soon shouted.
As the struggle ensued in front of everyone one of the Apprentices who already ate a piece began to cough, first it was one. Then it was a few who began til dozen of the apprentices began coughing out blood and turning blue. They all began to fall to the ground unable to talk only Asher could see blood coming from their mouths, ears, and eyes.
"What in the world...", Validar soon said which Arvel soon got up away from James to check on the down apprentices.
"Their... their dead.", Arvel managed to say which the entire room went into silence.
"That meant... its...", Asher was about to stay til a few Dragoon's came into the room.
"What is going on here!!", one of the Royal Dragoon Guards said only to see a dozen apprentices down with blood.
"Quickly get the Captain in here now!! As well a medic if you can!! Hurry!!", the Dragoon soon yelled.
As the time passed Sir Rafulton Pots came in to check on what occurred when he saw it he knew something managed to get through. Looking at the cake he soon internally cursed himself. It seemed they just lost a dozen good apprentices in a single moment.
"Blue Death, a poison that is instantaneous. Usually only used in assassination, whoever did this likely could be anyone in this room.", Rafulton soon said looking at all the apprentices.
For a moment Asher was a bit shock on what just happened, meaning someone here was actually actively trying to kill everyone.
"Well due to we do not know who is responsible I will put this down as apart of the death list of the Trial. Regardless everyone here passed anyways, most notably you James Gransela you did give food examples. However...", Rafulton soon said with a pause when he got his attention then continues, "Sometimes sacrifices must be made even if it means destroying your own land to do so. If you fought a normal enemy on the battlefield you would for sure win. But if you fought against an foe far greater especially a large war machine that is unstoppable. Open field battle can lead to your downfall, please remember that, oh and I can say the same thing to you Asher Rorke, you should look at James more closely for better information. After all both of you ended up with the highest scores here even if you have quite opposite answers."
Of course he was using Asher's own idea to fight against the Empire would be more effective then James, especially when outnumbered and out gunned. Yes it was harsh to allow people to be abandoned and die but it is war, sometimes a few hundred must due to save the thousands. In a way both were right and wrong, the situation changes given the circumstances and both needed improving.
Soon nodding Rafulton soon says, "Alright the next part of the Trial is here, this time there is no tricks to following me. You all proven to be capable enough platoon leaders though after this trial is done I will give you the faults of what your answers were. This is to make you all better men in the end so do not ignore my advise.", Rafulton soon finished as he left the room expecting others to follow him.

James just look on the scene from his position, not moving to take a look, nor is he surprised at what happened. There's a reason why he didn't eat or drink anything here, predicted that something like that could have happened. He don't like the dirty tricks that was pulled, but he's got no prove to stop others either, so he decided to remain silent. He is however, quite surprised that Rafulton and the Royal Dragoon Guards show just as little interest as himself. After all it's a part of their job to prevent things like this from happening, and he's quite sure that the clans that the dead nobles belonged in won't be happen about this.
When Rafulton commented on his tactics, he replied to explain himself.
"It's not the tactics itself, it's how you carry them out. If you're afraid of the enemy's numbers, and are not willing to even strike out at them before they arrive, you won't have a chance against them during the siege either. If you won't at least stall or weaken the enemies before they arrive, their full strength would strike at your city, giving your passive defense little chances in acting against the enemies. Perhaps the more experienced Sir Rafulton is more willing to sacrifice the safety and wealth of the people in order for victory, but I prefer to do as much as I can to prevent or reduce that damage."
As long as you maintain the higher mobility, there will not be much difference between fighting the same number or 100 times the number of enemies. It all depends on how you carry out your tactics to achieve higher damage without suffering as much yourself, such is how powerful empires of the ancient times destroy enemies using relatively small armies. It is true that numbers are getting more important with modern weapons coming into the picture, but with Minovsky Particles blocking most communication and detection systems, they no longer have the dominating effect as they have in the past.
So to James, Asher's talk about how his people are suffering, is all because of what Asher and his clan chose to do. They could try other tactics, but instead they decided to sacrifice the people for victory, not something that James would like to do.
But leaving that aside, he got up and follow Rafulton to the next trial.

Cadan didn't flinch when the assorted scum in this joint turned to look at him. While that might be enough to make some men shiver, Kasorymor's nerves were steelier than your average bear's. Still, lots like these ones could be a paranoid group, and for good reason, so it paid to not give them anything to raise eyebrows over if it could be helped. For that reason he walked right in without batting an eye, letting the clientele go back to whatever they were doing while he weaved between chairs, tables, and passed out patrons on his way to the front counter. On the way over he scanned the various people in here with him briefly, both to keep an eye out for any potential threats and gauge who all was here. Looked like quite a few westerners, which was a boon for him, otherwise he'd look pretty out of place with that mask of his. Didn't surprise him they showed up, though, he did see a couple of the bigwigs from that area at the feasting hall, so it made sense their grunts would be here too. Likely they took the same entrance he did.
The margrave slumped down into a stool at the front counter, near the center, but at least three seats apart from anyone else. After all, he didn't want to risk anyone overhearing anything he had in mind to talk about. With that in mind he motioned the barkeep over.
"I'll take a glass of rum, black." He said and dropped a few doria for the drink.
After a few seconds passed so as to not be too suspicious he'd go ahead while waiting for it to be poured and served. "Pretty dangerous place out west, y'know. Buncha slavers tried to attack my village two months back, had to plug one of 'em in the gut that was tryin' to drag off one of me buddies. It's bloody crazy out there." While the story was fabricated it wasn't something unknown in those parts, and it set up for what he was moving into.
"Don't suppose you'd know where a man in need could turn for a little help?" Cadan asked, noting subtly that he was looking to buy something for 'protection'. Of course these types didn't usually hand out info for free, so he flashed a pair of zalors that he was holding in his palm for a brief second. Being that just one of those was a month's wage, he figured it'd get whoever was running the show here talking. "Would be willin' to help keep the doors here open in return. Folks gotta look out for one another."
Rather than come across as someone running a shakedown, Kasorymor instead posed as a buyer interested in picking up some pieces. That would be much more likely to get him pointed in the right direction. Hopefully it'd lead him to whoever sold those automatics, and then he could twist their arms into coughing up more info. Or, failing that, it might lead him to a rival arms dealer who could do similar.

The people near Cadan's faces went up which the bar tender soon looked to his right which the head then shook.
"My friend over there may help you.", the bar tender said as he handed him his requested rum as he pointed toward a table.
Of course this tavern was used to that kind of business which then they had a special room for this kind of discussion. The man who sat at a table was close to another door which looked to have a tough guard who stood there. The Man looked more like one's who tended to screen the buyers before they are allowed to talk to the boss, if he determines you right he would let you see him.
Back at the Trial
Rafulton soon lead the remaining apprentices down an old ancient large elevator, as it continued to go down one could see a window that began to show the 'facility'. In fact underneath of the Royal Dragoon Guard's building was an ancient Research and Development facility. You could see that much of it was aged but also seemed to attempted to be fixed in crude form. For example the old lights were not working but added wires and poles for crude electric lights in the entire facility. Once the door opened to allowed the apprentices into the facility proper, there one could see some Dragoons walking around carrying paper note pads and even one could see off to the side large Dragons which were stored, only seven of them could be seen as they were the entire Royal Family's Dragon they even had. The most then other clans but it was expected, seven Dragons for the Seven best Dragoons of the kingdom.
"Welcome to the real Royal Dragoon Guard's Headquarters. This place is one of our best kept secrets against the likes of the Empire, it is also a place all Dragoons and those who fail are not allowed to talk about. If you remember your history class there was talking of a Dragon that saved our kingdom of Zalboria from the Old Eastern Empire of Douvassu. In truth it was seven of them, as you can see all seven Dragons here are in fact the very same ones who fought against the Ancient Magi, though they are not exactly the same.", Rafulton revealed as they passed one of them which errily to Asher looked like his Azure Dragon in terms of having a v shaped crest on its head.
Rafulton soon took note and then began to name then all, "White Sky Dragon, Red Flame Dragon, Green Rock Dragon, Yellow Lightning Dragon, Orange Dew Dragon, Violent Blood Dragon, and the Titan Slayer Dragon. That is the names of all seven if your wondering. All of them are technically are active but currently mothballed til their needed in times of conflict."
As they passed the Dragons they soon came up to a door, which of course lead to the next part of the Trial.
"Here it is, the main simulation room door that all of you will partake. Once inside the doors will not open til the next part of the Trial is done with. You will form two brackets, one is red and the other is blue. In Each Bracket you will fight one another in single combat, do whatever it means to win. Though losing doesn't mean you will not pass, each match will be judged on all skill shown. Give it your best.", Rafulton soon said as he pressed old buttons from the old doors which soon whooshed opened.
With the various nobles
Keiana soon took her seat and most did for the next part of the trial. This of course was the 'main' event of the trial, with many nobles she could see her brother sat right next to her.
"Who you think is going to win?", Kylan soon asked.
"Does it matter, winning doesn't always mean you become a Dragoon you know.", Keiana pointed out, which as it was obvious.
"True, true, but that doesn't stop the betting. Regardless I already know you picked your favorite.", Kylan said knowingly.
"Kylan gambling if going to be the death of you, you know.", Keiana soon joked.
"Ah I can see it now The Gambling Prince, naked into the streets after losing a bet!! Then hit by a Dragon that came out of nowhere!! Hilarity will ensue, or something on those lines?", Kylan then asked.
"Possibly, regardless the next part of the Trial is about to begin.", Keiana soon said of course she had not noticed her other seat next to her was open.

[James]
Entering the room that was assigned to him, James got ready for the match, preparing the data that would be used for the simulator. There's little to say or to be done now, all that is left is to see his opponent, and destroy those that stands before him.
-
[With the nobles]
Among the nobles are Charles and Florina, with Yumi standing closely behind the two, and some Exion troops on guard around them. Being a powerful clan, they were able to get seats with great view of the match. Several other friendly nobles approached to have their greetings with Charles, and talk about what happened during the trial.
"Lord Exion, I heard that several of the participant died during the trial earlier. They tried to cover it up, but news got around quite fast."
"Hm, they couldn't find the one responsible though. With a dozen participants dead, some of the other clans would have their heads for this failure."
While Charles talk with the other nobles, Florina lean back a bit to talk to Yumi.
"Is James alright? Whoever is plotting all this doesn't seem to care if they affect innocent people."
"Knowing James, he can handle it on his own. We have already considered the problems that might come up, and made preparation in advance so you won't need to worry."
At least they didn't receive news that he died, or failed in parts of the trial, those are good signs.

"Thanks pal." Cadan said and flicked the coins across the counter to the info broker, doing so quickly so it wouldn't be picked up by anyway around him.
He didn't move right away and instead decided to poke at his drink a bit first. The sailor swirled it around in the bottom of the glass and then held it up to the light when no one was looking. The hope was by agitating the fluid, he'd be able to separate any 'additives' that he wouldn't want to imbibed. Provided it check out on that test he'd sniff it, and then drink. "Not bad."
Could never be too sure around these types. While he wasn't here to enforce any law, there was no way to be sure that they wouldn't think that.
After a couple minutes passed he slipped from his seat and meandered over to the table he was directed to, taking a seat across from the man sitting there and putting his elbows up on the table top. His eyes flickered around him briefly, watching quietly as a few new people filtered into the building, even as some of the old left. The tavern seemed to maintain a constant equilibrium of smokey mist and dim lighting that made it almost surreal.
"Looking to do a little shopping, guy I know pointed me 'ere." Cadan said in a low voice, deciding to get down to business. Behind the goggles in that mask he examined both this guy, and the thug behind him. He nonchalantly gestured back the way he came, indicating who sent him specifically. "Said you might be able to help. I'm mighty interested."

As the man sat on his seat he noticed the masked man sit before him usually only ones wanting business he soon says as he sipped his mug.
"I may be of help, depends on what your looking for... We just received a fresh shipment of small arms that could help. But first...", the man soon said as he looked at the man before him.
Suddenly a man who was seating not too far was suddenly thrown on the table. They began to search through him then found something which the man on the table nodded. Soon the man was dragged away with soon a scream then a shot.
"The Boss dislikes liars as you can see, especially kind that are the law bidding kind. If you get my drift?", the man soon said as the man they just dragged was likely an undercover spy for the guard.
"By the way the name is Levan Brooth, now to business what kind of shipments your looking for?", Levan soon said as as he slipped his mug again.
At the Trial
"My Lords and Ladies let the Second test of the Trial Begin!!", the crier bellowed with the images of the ancient screens lite up to see the simulation play out.
As the various apprentices fought it seemed most were at most average, moving in and clashing most preferred to take a melee approached quite standard. When Vivien Choel fought against another Dragoon she pretty much hacked the Dragon all the way and then cut into the cockpit of the simulation. Of course this was usually frowned on but this was The Butcher's Daughter who showed no remorse to anyone. Arvel Dunbar fared very well, beating one contestant each time without much damage to the Dragon nor surroundings. The matches continued without stopping with one victor after another.
With Asher he activated his Dragon into battle, whereas most preferred melee, he preferred using cover and other assortment of tactics. Firing his Bolt Action Rifle he would normally aim at the cameras then finish them off by cutting the Dragon's legs with a short blade. Not to mention he was doing some dirty tactics and those of the Central or South would call it. He would also use any means necessary even using buildings as a distraction to win. With that last match done Asher soon waited his next opponent, it was no other then Arvel Dunbar who was to be his next opponent. Asher sat again in his simulator and waited for the match to begin as Arvel entered his own.
"Hey you Rorke over there? You do its not nice to play dirty.", Arvel soon commented.
"Fighting with Dragon's is not a place for honor you know. All counts is to win, if you lose your clan is surely defeated.", Asher soon replied.
"Ha but without honor how could one keeps the people safe and hero to the people. A Protector the people require, my friend truly believes that and I do too!!", Arvel soon shouted.
"Then your friend will die on the battlefield.", Asher then replied as the match began.
Moving quickly Asher took out his Rifle and fired first. Arvel's own Dragon raised his shield in defense blocking the bullets with ease as Arvel preferred a medium size shield. He continued this then moved to the left in the simulation. Soon he would take out a larger scale Grenade then throw it towards Arvel's unit without a care that was in the middle of a city. Taking cover to the next building Asher soon began reloaded his Rifle to begin his next attack but suddenly as he turned the corner Arvel with a long sword in hand stroke his Rifle which he used as a pole arm to deflect the attack.
"Did you know guns are good and all but in a larger scale their quite useless against an Dragon!! Especially in close range combat!!", Arvel soon shouted as he used both his hands with the long sword alreayd abandoned his shield.
"Shit!!", Asher was saying til his controls were responding slow.
'Impossible all my attacks should of hit his unit but it all missed?! How can this be!!'
Arvel then did a kick which Asher dropped his rifle and he rolled away to take out a larger scale Revolver. Taking aim he soon fired which were close but all shots missed.
"What are you a bad shot or something? You can't even hit me at that close range!!", Arvel soon said as he forced Asher back.
Unable to gain balance his unit fell down a cliff which alarms in the simulator began to blare. The unit was still active in the simulation but his monitor went black simulating it was damaged. Backup cameras all worked but he knew if he couldn't see the enemy it was over.
'What is going on here? How could they all miss especially at point blank range. I got to think god damn it what is going on!', Asher soon thought til he heard a familiar voice.
'Calm down Asher, just feel him and his next move.', the voice soon said.
'Who was that? Wait... Keiana?', Asher thought but the voice was once again gone.
"Maybe she is right... if I calm down and sense Arvel Dunbar's next move then maybe...", Asher soon said then closed his eyes.
As Arvel's own Dragon moved down the cliff to finish off Asher his sword ready to strike.
"Yield now Asher Rorke you have lost.", Arvel said as he readied to strike the head of the unit.
"Go to hell.", Asher soon replied with his eyes closed which he soon heard Arvel sighed.
"Very well I guess I just will have to finish you.", Arvel said as he was about to strike down which at the last second Asher's Dragon managed to avoid the sword and then broke his short sword directly into the generator would be stored.
"No I will.", Asher soon said as he finally understood when he felt Arvel's movement.
"Dishonorable bastard.", Arvel muttered as his own simulation ended.
"Victor Asher Rorke!!", the crier shouted.
With Keiana
"Well that is a twist.", Kylan commented as he turned his head towards his father not too far who showed a sign of distaste.
"As well it seems father lost his own bet.", Kylan then added as he turned back to his sister who's eyes were closed then opened.
"It is going all to my plan.", Keiana soon said as she saw Arvel's Dragon deactivated.
"Next up is James Gransela and Vivien Choel a match to remember!!", the Crier then added which Keiana simply got up to leave.
"Your leaving already?", Kylan then asked.
"It is quite obvious who is going to win there. Especially with that man as her opponent.", Keiana said as she left.
With Vivien
"How the hell does he know!!", Vivien internally screamed as she tried to move only for James to use his cross bow that stopped her in her tracks.
The battle was not long but somehow she lost her large butcher knife and missing an arm. James not only showed vast better skill with his own sword but manage to corner her.
"Fuck you James Gransela!! FUCK YOU!!", as Vivien charged only to lose her units head and then its legs.
'Damn... I lost... I can't lose!! I can't!! I can't!! Sister!! I have to save you!! SISTER!!'. Vivien internally screamed in his mind as this was her first true loss.

[James]
His opponent is in no means weak, her skills might be rough and unrefined, but are fierce and bold. Unfortunately for her, the Tyr is a heavy armored MS that is skilled at defending against any attacks that gets sent towards it. If you don't have the attack power to punch through it's armor, your attacks would likely not have any effect. As James himself shows by guarding or dodging every single attacking sent towards him, and counterattack when there are openings in Vivien's movements.
"I'd prefer... if you would, keep it clean!"
With a quick swing of his shield to knock away Vivien's attack, he brings his sword down on the unbalanced unit. One slash after another his sword cuts into the joint of the other MS, disabling it to be safe, then finally finishing it off with a killing strike.
After the last slash to finish off his opponent, he takes a step back. Holding his sword up to his unit's torso, he gives a light bow to his defeated opponent to show his respect.
"Thank you for the opportunity, allow us to meet again with no bad feelings among us."
After he's done, he turns off his simulator and prepare for the final match... that very person that he arrested a few days ago and had at gun point.

[With the nobles]
Compared to Asher's victory, many more of the crowd cheer and give a round of applause for James. At least in their eyes, James' victory was a well performed, fair and honorable match, and he even respects his opponent after his victory.
"As to be expected from the leader of Gransela, a splendid performance."
Charles was quite pleased of the victories that James has obtained, one after another he defeats his opponent, and this time even the butcher's daughter. He originally feared that James might suffer a defeat in front of her, but looks like it was not a problem judging from the clean victory just now.
Florina did not say much, having little knowledge on actual combat and other military related subject. But she is quite happy to see how James is able to win with what seems to be minimum effort, it would just be one more match before a complete victory could be achieved, something that is rarely, if ever done.
While Yumi stood there in silent, not commenting on James' victories. She knew there's little that could match his ability, if she has to choose someone among the participants that might have a chance it would be that man from before. He drew his weapon fast enough to match James' own speed, even if it's a bit slower than her movements it would still be an impressive feat. Perhaps that man would become an opponent to James, and not just another number on the scoreboard.

Cadan was just about to reply with what he was looking for when he was cut off by the guard informant being thrown down and beaten by a couple of the other thugs in the tavern. He watched without words as the spy was drug outside and taken care of. The sailor was used to hard business so he didn't seem overly perturbed by it, even though he himself didn't like to operate on that level when it wasn't needed. He turned back to the arms dealer.
"Well Mr. Brooth, I don't think there's anything illegal about a little trade. Call me a fool but I think it's pretty bloody stupid the nobs get to run around with all the toys and not us folk that do the real work here, eh?" Cadan replied. Which was, to his credit, actually true. While those laws didn't apply to him due to his stature, he didn't apply that stuff to his own people unless they proved they couldn't be trusted. Criminals and such for instance...but anyone caught doing that usually had bigger problems than having their guns confiscated.
Kasorymor leaned forward and talked in a hushed tone, acting like what he had to say was really important. "As for what I'm lookin' fer...I'm after somethin' rare. Your boss got anything rapid fire? Nice and compact? Want to make sure anyone who messes with me learns their lesson...the hard way."
Of course he was talking about an automatic pistol, but he couldn't come right out and say that. "Lotta' money could come your boss's way if he has what I'm after. I wager he'd be interested, I don't lowball."

Tavern
"We may... we may not, only the boss knows.", Levan Brooth soon said as he soon turned to the bouncer behind him.
"Ollie Bobo, Let the guy through.", Levan soon said as he saw they had a customer.
Ollie Bobo who now can see he was of Douvassau descent soon nodded and moved from the door to knock. Soon the door opened which Levan got up then says, "Come lets meet the boss."
With that he soon lead him in through the door which the door shut right after both he and his customer to a room which he soon knocked.
"What is it now?!", a male voice soon said which Levan replies, "Its Levan, boss I got a customer."
"Oh fine let him in then.", the voice soon said which opened with a man in his middle age can be seen, he was skinny but wore a mobster like clothing and ha cigar in his mouth. When he looked up at who was the customer his cigar soon dropped to the ground.
"Oh no... NOT YOU!!", Pepper Jones soon said as he stared at who he exactly knew who it was.
With Asher
Asher drank some water to cool himself as the final match was about to begin, he saw others looking him at disgust but he was used to it. As he finally cool himself down he went towards the simulator for the final match. Still something was off from earlier and wondered why. His shots should of been perfect but each one failed to hit. As he entered the Simulation he soon sat down and ready to go, as the images soon changed from one section into what was from the Fafian Region.
"Well this is interesting", Asher commented as the weather around turned into heavy snow.
Looking around he soon sees James before him in his Dragon.
"Who wouldn't thought we both end up here. Its almost like fate we had to fight, especially after unfinished business.", Asher soon said over to James.

[James]
Slowly, Tyr comes into view, and stand before it's opponent at a fair distance away. Its silver armor glowing from the light reflected off the snow, mono-eye glowing as it glare at the enemy unit.
"Perhaps, there are many reasons for us to fight. With my close friend Arvel defeated by your hands, I must avenge his honor. With your treacherous ideals, I must vanquish your kind. And for personal reason, for my lord, followers, and loved ones, I must obtain victory."
His unit got ready as the match is about to begin, moving the balance slightly so he could move at any moment.
"But, allow us to fight now with honor and just. Let our swords crash, and decide the victor! I am Margrave James Wong of Gransela! Loyal follower of Charles III of Exion! En guard!!"
As soon as the match begins, the first thing he does is take the Crossbow that's on his back, and slowly advances towards Asher. Taking careful aim, he fires after he takes one of his steps to minimum the reduction in accuracy do to movement of the unit, sending a large, explosive filled crossbow bolt towards his opponent's torso. Firing one, he quickly pulls out a second bolt and reload his crossbow in a short amount of time, and after that he stores the crossbow onto his back, and replaces it with the large shield.
