The sinking feeling in the pit of Kasorymor's gut proved to be all too accurate by the time the announcement was given. For a second he hoped that the people would see through this petty attempt at revenge, but it seems he was too hopeful, as furtive whispers turned to cheers. Cadan was most certainly not part of that crowd, and neither was Mary. Both exchanged looks of outrage and concern, amongst other things.
"The man is a fool, a greater one than even I anticipated." Mary said with a bitter scowl.
"A fool? The guy's a full-on idiot of the highest caliber. We have a bloodthirsty empire on our door, and what's this guy want to do? Kill off two-thirds of our up and coming dragoons! Bloody stupid. They're going to walk all over us next time and this'll be to blame!" Cadan said in agreement, noting that this would have far reaching consequences beyond just some spilled blood. But he doubted Kylan VI saw any of them.
When Asher spoke he nodded. "Guess you were right. A lot of good people are going to die for no reason, and it's disgusting. They're not even men and women, they're kids. Talk about an outrage."
The soldiers that didn't go back to the sub chattered amongst themselves, until Cadan addressed them.
"It is an outrage right? It isn't just me?"
"No boss." One spoke up.
"Nope, man oughta get his 'ead looked at." The second chimed in.
"I wish I was more surprised." Mary lamented, folding her arms while watching the crowd shout the king's name.
It made the margrave groan. "And to think, I was going to start sending people here again. Not no more, that idea just got torpedoed and put 1000 leagues under. Tch."
The masked man turned to Asher. "You better watch your back. You won't just have other participants after you, you're going to have murderers and thieves taking to the streets now because they can get away with anything, long as they say it's being done on behalf of a dragoon. That's supposed to be my job, bastards are cutting in on my business."

James and Yumi were listening to the announcement among the crowd, they already knew the news, but James wanted to see the reaction of those in the trial but did not know about it.
"Is that all? Not really that big of a deal..."
"Aren't you worried about the causalities?"
"If they couldn't even withstand this trial then how could they survival the battlefield? May as well retire before they meet an untimely doom fighting against invading enemies. But, I suppose if I do meet any injured members during the trial, it would be in my code of honor to patch them up and send them to safety."
He does notice how Asher seems extremely reactive to the announcement, and decide to voice his own opinion.
"And the same could be said for your own, Mr. Rorke."
He did not call Asher by lord, as he found out from Charles that Asher do not have any claims to his father's title, and there was little reason for him to treat the foolish(in his eyes) man any better than he is now.
"It is the same as if I throw dirt in your face, and expect you to simply step down and lick my boots. To some people in high positions, face could be just as important as lives, how else could you expect any feuds to be called off if even the High King are not taken seriously? If you're not willing to give your own respect then you can't expect others to do so for you, not to mention you were one of the cause of the problem in the first place. If you are worried about your own well being then I would suggest that you resign now and avoid any bloodshed, if you can't face blood now, then you won't be able to do so on the battlefield either."
He's completely fine with using deadly ploys to achieve his means, as long as it doesn't harm civilians or those not involved then he'll be willing to do pretty much anything that still fit his honor. Besides, being a talented person is one thing, you can't just kick the High King off his throne without considering all the strings attached, it might even cause a much bigger problem trying to claim the position for yourself. At least every other of the Kings and Queens won't be happy that anyone else besides themselves holds the position, so any forced changes done would certainly mean the outbreak of a civil war.

"I sort of figured with what happened earlier. Right I will watch my back, I usually pay attention to my surroundings to some degree.", Asher replied to Cadan as he look at the various cheers which annoyed him.
'Pch... people of the capital are for sure ignorant.'
"So quick question Margrave, doing dirty work is your main business? Then what is a crime then?", Asher asked Cadan in almost joke answer. Of course many would easily suspect what they meant since they did tend to raid like those of the Paemir.
Soon after he heard another voice which almost was becoming more hindrance then anything.
"This King is weak, so far I seen only inept ruling and growing too soft with the likes of Exion. This man is disrespectful, fat, and so easily weak. A man only should deserve respect when he has proven he is worth that respect, if a man cannot earn respect of entire peoples then why should we give him in return? The battlefield is what I was breed for, it might be softer in your land but in mine a Dragoon's sole purpose is to be an instrument of war. To be the perfect swords to cut out the enemy or the cancer that festers the body, we give up our titles and our rights to serve, though we keep our last name. We are not respected but hated by the common folk for they see us as monsters who are cold that will follow orders in war. In the frontier I seen people starve in winter, seen the threat beyond our border that the threat of the Empire still poses on us even after forty years. They have tanks unlike our own, planes that are mono type, great strength that they see us as jackals waiting that only wishes to eat us. The High King I seen is is not strong but truly a weak man, this kingdom is doom under him. Right now shouldn't be the time to kill senselessly in a Trial, what the High King is doing is stupid. I do hope you see my point of view, because so far you been only meddlesome little boy scout.", Asher soon said to James turning to leave without even attempting to listen a reply from James.
Asher walked away now having to prepare for what was to come, though he suspected this may come to bite him back in the ass. Regardless it was true the merchants of the Exion Region had too much control of this nation's economy and more and more serpents have implanted themselves into this once great city. Though he was at least hesitant, he didn't know why but as he talked to James he felt something... pressure? Almost like he was choking him for such defiance. He almost felt small like a little animal just picking a fight with the worst predator in the area. He only managed to give his own courage because the training his father had given him since he could remember. He taught him many things, his father. Such things how to hunt, how to fight, how to kill, as well how to see a man when you execute him for the good people of the people. Regardless who they are you will act to your views he said, show no mercy, give no quarter, the enemy must be destroyed, the cancer must be purged. Though grilled in him for so long he didn't take this seriously, thus why his slacking off, his naps in the middle of the day. He never took this seriously, but now here in the capital he finally understood what his father meant. Could that be the reason he has trouble in general? The worried look at his father's eyes showed he was tired of many things. Though he always showed his only good self to his mother, it was strange seeing his parents seemed that they gave up something but he wasn't sure.
As Asher continued to walk the alleys he was heading back towards the hotel he was staying in. It was now time to prepare for the Trial itself that will be in but a short view hours. He has to be on guard, he must muster his strength and be prepared for anything now. As he walked he soon noticed Merlin and Igor were rushing to him which made him wonder why.
"Asher, boy we got to talk to you its urgent!!", Merlin soon said which made Asher's brow go up.
'What it could be?'
Else Where
"Ha, so will it be easier now you know.", Vivien soon said with a smirk as she was in the mist of the cheering crowd with the hooded man sat on a chair not exactly next to her. But looking he was enjoying a drink as in fact talking to her.
"Except... you fucked up Vivien.", the hooded man soon said.
"Mister Hoodie, how could I know that idiot would try to pick a fight with him!!", Vivien exclaimed.
"Stop calling me that. Regardless the Project was not suppose to be used like that was it your idea or 'his' idea.", the hooded man soon asked.
"Obviously his, not my fault he ended up being burnt to ash by that pistol from the Margrave. As well I hear that monster of yours is heavily wounded.", Vivien added coyly.
"Indeed, he is the only one who managed to survive the process, though his life span is much shorter then normal means. I will for now give you a second chance with that beast. Bring me James Gransela and Asher Rorke, ALIVE mind you. I already have another plan to take the Princess unawares, I suspect she is beginning to suspect us now.", Mister Hoodie soon ordered.
"Fine.. fine... but I can... uhh take a piece right? I mean you said alive you didn't say anything if they are 'missing something'? Err Right yes?", Vivien then asked like a little kid who is asking for candy.
"If only you have no choice in the manner, Vivien. If you do not succeed there will be consequences, especially those with 'close ties' to you get my drift?", Mister Hoodie said as he got up to leave.
As he left Vivien alone she bit her lip then whispers, "Those damn bastards. If they touch her I will..."
Vivien soon stopped herself, no she had to do this. Capture the three Neos and then she can think of the reward after.
With Asher
'Ah, so this is what they meant.', Asher thought as he entered his room he was staying, well dare lack of room to be precise.
"We were not inside but as soon as we were heading back from our early lunch. Your living quarters soon combusted into a ash and fire.", Merlin finally answered.
"Exploded would of worked better.", Igor soon said with a snort.
"That it may be... did anything survive?", Asher soon asked.
"Nothing survived except what you took with you.", Merlin said with a nod.
Asher soon managed to reply, "Ah."
He then begins walking away like it was nothing but soon as he turned the corner one could hear. "You got to be fucking kidding me!! Damn this stupid city!! Damn whoever blew up all my things!! I didn't even finish the 'Adventures of Admiral Darius Athelstan and his merry band'. God Damn it to hell!!"
Today was not a good day for Asher that is for sure.

Cadan laughed at the question posed to him. "What counts as a crime goes by how I feel at the day, kid. I run a region, what I say goes. Benefits of being in charge. But ambushing people in the capital and trying to kill them definitely constitutes 'illegal' even in my book. That's something even I wouldn't do."
"Speaking of, I want to know who those jokers are, and they had best hope I don't find them, or they'll be meeting the business end of a torpedo." The margrave added a second later with deadly seriousness. Attacks on him and his people were absolutely not tolerated...well, lethal attacks, anyway. Even he had to admit some of them deserved a good beat down here and there to keep them in line. But machineguns and robots was certainly over the line.
...
He supposed that went for the Queen too, but he'd never admit that plainly.
Kasorymor waited for the congregation to disperse and then went his own way, debating bailing on this ceremony now. He wasn't very interested in watching the next generation massacre each other, and frankly, he didn't feel up to dealing with all the nonsense it'd bring out. One gunfight was enough for this little outing.
Either way he chose to stay out of the budding enmity between the two dragoons-to-be. He had no reason to not be reasonable to both, but this wasn't something he needed to be involved in. For better or worse, they'd end up sorting this out.

The only thing that Asher's words got from James is a series of laughter, and a look of both pity and slightly apologetic.
"Haha...haha... sorry about that, but it was just a bit too much for me to hold back. Going by your words, respect should only be deserved by those that have proven their worth... then looks like you don't deserve any, from any others? Do you have any well known deeds? Have you overcame great difficulties to reach your positions? Have you done anything that shows you deserve the position that you were born in? Unlikely, and by your standard, you just insulted a large portion of the young men and women in the world, not everyone got their position with complete experience and knowledge of their job you know."
Everyone starts at 0, and then were given skills, wealth, and position by their parents or their surroundings. Even the High King that seems to be worthless in the eyes of many people have given his effort, skills, and experience to reach his position and do his job. Looking at others in the way Asher is doing is pretty much the same as looking down at others through a piece of glass, and seeing them as ants without thinking about their own position and roles.
"Myself for example, did not started out at the position I am now, who are you to just ignore the effort and ability that me and my followers have placed and claim that me and you are equal? I could have men struck you down for that insult if you were not cowering under the Mountain King's boots! Claiming the High King is weak? I don't see you in any way stronger than he is, with the exception of you physical abilities. You are not an honorable warrior, just someone that looks down at everyone that is not directly around you, be ashamed of yourself! If you truly want to help the people, then you would have done so other than in combat, maintaining the law and keeping peace. But I have not seen you done either, all you did was selfishly declare your dislike of the High King, and committed crimes to further your own needs of obtaining power of the throne. You don't think I forgot the reason that you were arrested yesterday have you? Smuggling in shading characters, resisting arrest, and breaking out of jail with the help of your 'strong king'! How can you place your trust in someone that could not even follow the basic law?!"
Then he waves to the crowds around, some might be poor, but at least they're not starving or subjected to any danger to their lives.
"Look at the people around you under the High King's rule, do you see them starving? Yet you claim the people are, in others the starving ones are the people to the East, people under your clan! How dare you shift the foolishness and impotence of your own officials, and blame it on the High King who have entrusted the land and people to your clan!!"
It's not wrong to focus on military, but if you focus it so much that your own people are starving, then you have a problem. At least for Exion, they placed enough care on both military and economy, so their land are developed enough for the people, but still have enough military to be effective.
"If you are so blind that you cannot see such clear facts, then pack up your steel and return to whence you came! Or I will not hesitate to stop your rebellious nature by force!"
Though Asher seems to have ignored what James said, many others around at least agrees with parts of what he said, and give a round of applause at his speech. Some noble, some peasant, but mostly those that agree with his ideal of having a more stable Zalboria. After all if you have other choices, most people other than warmongers would prefer to not go to war for every single bit of reason. Most peasants just wanted a loaf of bread and a piece of cheese and they're happy for the day, but with the help of the Trade King and Exion, people of the Central and South regions enjoy a quite relaxing lifestyle. With enough food and drink to fill their bellies, and some free time for those that want to reach a higher position in life too. So it's unreasonable to think that they would prefer to fight against 'the threat of the empire' when they're not actually advancing, not yet at least, they'd prefer not to think about it, until it happens.
The nobles however, mostly agreed on the part that Asher does not have respect for fellow nobles, and this actually helped James by showing the opposite. Since even a newer noble like James could show his respect, yet Asher who seems to have came from the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet could not do the same. But as Asher is the same as the one of the representative for Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet for this trial, his action is equal to the action of his clan, and this lack of respect does not make them any more popular than before.
That said, James himself don't have any opinion about the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet, not at the moment at least. But Asher himself has shown to be someone that is completely against his own ideals, and at the moment it seems unlikely that he'll change his opinions. In someways he could feel the mind of the other man reaching out towards him, but his own mentality is strong enough to 'bounce off' the act, and stayed strong to his own ideals. He just paused for a moment, and glared at the direction where Asher departed at, then turns and head off with Yumi, whose been quiet all along, following.
Parts of James' ideals were influenced by Yumi, but she rarely speaks out herself on similar matters. If James could be seen as a ruler, then she would act as his pawn, following orders without question unless it would bring harm in the long run. If needed, she could go take Asher's head for her lord, but James himself did not give any orders for that, so she simply follows him and wait for any requests.
"Tsk, not a good way to start the morning... lets go back."
"You might want to calm yourself down before returning."
"....Hmph, you're right, don't want to let the Lord and Florina notice it."
The two wanders around the city for a few moment, returning greetings to nobles and peasants alike. Looks like the speech have some effect, at least it brought a sense of friendliness to the people in the city, and it's quite good for his image as an honorable knight that fights for Zalboria and it's people.

"Ah what interesting things this shop.", Merlin soon said as the trio into a shop within the capital.
Of course once Asher's things were blown up it left him with almost nothing once more that butler? Well ya him soon came to warn him about what was to occur, a little late but due to that was given actual funds to buy things to prepare for the Trial. With that Asher and company headed off to buy the needed supplies, of course there was only an hour left before the official beginning. He continued to over lookm grenades, some ammunition he was low on his own luck they had only a single box worth. With that much it will work but he needed another just in case, looking he soon picked a good size old hunting bow used by commoners. To some nobles they would scoff at such notions but as a hunter in Paemir you were training in all ranged combat even olden bows. Soon picking it up he examined it, and saw to sturdy enough to be some use. As well he saw some other 'kits to make arrows, as well a hunting knife. When he was done he had enough to survive the final part of the test but for how long? He didn't know always things happen. Paying with Doria he was given he soon left the store with Merlin and Igor in tow.
"I am going to give you guys my things to hold til the third part of the test occurs.", Asher soon said as he walked the streets to the first test, already he had 'avoided' a few likely traps set by other participates.
"Oh what if they come after us? Ever thought of that?", Igor soon chimed in.
"Of course their coming after us but if you didn't notice the royal guards men in plain clothing you also know they wouldn't move on us so easily.", Asher soon said as he noticed some of the guards of the capital.
"Say what now?", Igor managed to ask.
"Ah so your benefactor I presume?", Merlin soon asked with a knowingly eye it was the princess orders.
"Of course though I am still wondering what is her game.", Asher soon admitted as they were coming to the military special zone within the city.
"Perhaps a bit a 'interest'?", Merlin then added which both Igor and Asher both sighed at the comment.
"Possibly but unlikely.", Asher soon said a bit red, though he hid it well and remembered the kiss from earlier in the day.
As the trio came through a gate where the royal guards were stationed at the gates, Asher soon handed his things to the two men.
"Remember the first test is a basic theory on tactics and logic test. Which means less likely to allow to kill someone as this is by old rules. Unless you can keep it secret you can easily be caught in the test. Which means then by tonight is the I believe Dragon portion of the training, which we go in free for all combat of Dragons. I am just not sure if its using real ones or something else. Til I return keep safe.", Asher soon said as he entered the gateway alone.
With that he continued down the path always keeping himself on guard, here weapons were not permitted which normally have to turn them in. Instead Asher gave his to Merlin and Igor to keep them safe, he didn't trust the guards here. As he walked through he soon looked up at a window and soon saw 'him' a man with an eye patch which he looked familiar but from where? He wasn't sure. Was it something from his past or more? Regardless he continued walking as the man nodded his head and he replied with his own. He soon entered the great doors to the dragoons special zone building which lead to the main great dome which showed great golden statues of the Royal Dragoon Guard. Soon Asher gathered with various other participates for now they would wait til the final part before the first part of the trial to begin.
With Sir Rafulton
"So that is the kid.", Sir Rafulton soon said to himself as he saw the young clansmen of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet Clan.
Still it wondered what was to occur now the trial was started he wondered what will come of this time.
"We will see the result and I suspect it will be interesting.", Sir Rafulton soon said out loud then soon went to take his place for the opening of the Trial.

(...Not much to say)
James stands among the crowds, his weapons left with Yumi, and takes a look at Asher when he enters. The appearance of the young Rorke reminded him of how Asher attempted to reach out towards his mind earlier this morning, but decided that it's not worth his effort to actively be hostile against someone that have no title or actual power. Instead he turns to other participants and have somewhat peaceful conversation, there is of course hostility against some of the more aggressive participants but they're not going to make their moves here in front of everyone. Thankfully there are more friendly characters than otherwise, mostly those that are supporting the Trade King or the High King, and share similar ideals with James himself.
He also listen carefully to pick up conversations that he's not engaged in, so that he could gather information about the actions and plans of other participants. After all, information is the most important part in any sort of military action, you can't fight a battle while you're blind.

As Asher looked into the various participates he soon noticed some were whispering near him when he arrived. It seemed most if not all hated his guts, likely with lately he has been stirring trouble. No matter he knew they probably were plotting something, as for him he simply needed to survive and pass. As the various apprentice's talked he soon noticed a few notable people, one was of course James Gransela, then it was Validar not in one part of the crowd, and finally he saw her. The girl from earlier in the day her blonde hair was not mistakable but her hood was gone. He soon finally figured out who she was as he saw her clan's colors and sigil, which lead to Choel Clan, which meant.
'She must be the daughter of The Butcher, which makes her Viven Choel' Great... one guy who hates my guts, an asshole boy scout and now the daughter of the infamous Butcher. My life is just getting shittier by the minute.' Asher soon thought for a brief twenty minutes they waited.
With Arvel
Arvel soon walked in the crowds, many apprentices shitted their pants when he passed by. I mean who wouldn't with him being one of the favorites to pass and being good friends with Margrave Gransela would make any normal noble stop short. As he moved around he noticed others and then finally James. Walking up to him he soon put his arm around his friends back then says, "Well I hear you been pretty busy as of late."
Of course he meant the whole speech he gave earlier about one Asher Rorke of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet Clan. Well almost everyone agreed he was not totally falling for his friends speech, being immune for years.
"Truth be told your speech went on your usual rant. Seriously you know how many times I have heard you talk it makes me want to go drink a bunch of wine to drown myself from it. I mean one time I had nightmares about your speeches.", Arvel soon jested being friendly as he looked over to see where Asher Rorke was but noticed his stare towards Vivien Choel. To anyone else most wouldn't notice but he noticed hostility being thrown between the two.
'Oh Boy... why I got a bad feeling about this?', Arvel thought as he already had 'plans' to keep himself and James safe. Of course likely Yumi herself have already prepared ahead of time... expected.
"Anyways I did some snooping you might be interested in. Want to hear?", Arvel soon whispered with a serious tone.
Else where
"Make sure he lives.", Keiana soon said as a butler who simply nodded in reply.
"Madam Keiana , may I inquire why we are protecting Asher Rorke?", the older Butler soon asked.
"What a silly question... he is required a bit more for my 'own' plans. I do know they will be attacking during the Survival portion of the test. Both there and towards me.", Keiana said nonchalantly.
"That maybe but does this requirement for your 'deepest wish' then?", the butler soon asked.
"Of course Geoffrey... I need him and the other one that Margrave Gransela to live. It is rare that one like us appear in our kingdom, after all I think this is a beginning of a new chapter of Zalborian history. Don't you think?", Keiana soon asked out at her room window looking at the city before.
"As you wish, we will make sure all arrangements are done.", Geoffrey soon said with a bow then left.
With Keiana alone she continued to look out at the window which she soon mutters, "Stay alive... your my ticket out of here you know."
Another place
"Everything is proceeding as plan.", a hooded man soon said as he talked to Mister Hoodie.
"Good make sure this time no one sees you, make sure you can capture our three targets. Alive preferable, dead if impossible.", Mister Hoodie replied as he drank a glass of milk.
"As well what of those two strangers with the troublesome one?", the man then asked.
"For now ignore them, though they are interesting we only need the Neos. As well if the Margrave Kasorymor finds out we must not let him know. If he does it could cause problems for the cells in the west.", Mister Hoodie then ordered which the man nodded then left.
As he drank down all his milk he soon got up to look at he crowds of people. Ignorance, so easily manipulated, the people of the capital would so easily crumble to the Empire within a day. Alas such tidings were not for this day and not his mission. The Cells within the Empire does their own work and they do their own. It doesn't matter what is happening only thing he knew was his mission. Get the three Neos before the coming storm destroys any possibility of research. Since such young blood is a waste if they died, it would lead to delays to the project. So he soon left into the crowds waiting for the results of what was going to occur.

"Well, you know how it's like for me, got to speak up against rebellious fools like that one. And good, if you're having nightmares, then you'll remember my words, so it's making an impression on others."
He does make speeches from time to time, mostly because he see it as a cheap, simple, but effective tool to convince others and draw morale from allies. But it has it's limits, so he tries to keep himself from doing it too often, only when he felt he has to speak up.
When Arvel suddenly got serious, James did not show the same attitude, instead he take on a more relaxed form. He makes it seems like the two are just having a joke and not an important conversation. But from the corner of his eyes, he takes a look to calculate the distance of the other nobles around, and reply after deciding there's enough space between the two of them and the rest of the crowds.
"Lets hear it."

"Well from I hear, talks about that Asher Rorke as of late. One he has been seen talking to the Princess privately and more so some nobles think someone is being a bit 'ambitious'.", Arvel soon said which obviously mean Asher Rorke being here was more then simply taking the Trial. To some nobles such acting from a Dragoon itself was considered taboo, some see it an young upstart trying to wiggle his way into the royal family.
"But I got more important information.", Arvel soon said turning his head around a bit, "It seems some are planning something during the Dragon simulation, just in case don't trust the simulator on what it shows."
Of course in the second test they use old lost technology to determine Dragoon skill. A simulator is what was used to train Anicent Dragoons without using their Dragons. As well too costly to even use, if they want to use the Dragons.
With that soon a man with a side arm cloak over his whole arm which never moved once. On his face he had an eye patch which meant he lost his right eye at some point in his life. He was wearing the Captain of the Royal Dragoon Guard colors which determined who he was. Everyone in the room went silent as he walked down the step then looks at the crowd of Apprentice Dragoons.
Participates: 123
"Alright Maggots today is the beginning of the Trial!! Before you all protest about me calling you that, that is exactly what you are. Til you pass this Trial are nothing more then maggots feeding on the utters of your clan names. Some here come from commoner blood, showing skill, some from great and mighty clans!! Here your all the same to me, I will show no favoritism I only want results!! First rule within this pre High King Kylan the Fourth's rule set!! Your not allowed to kill each other openly during the logical test!! If your caught cheating you will be kicked out! If you help someone cheating you also will be kicked out!! Here right now you either win or you die!! I am Sir Rafulton Pots, no laughing at the name or I will personally throw you into a gutter!! I am your judge, jury, and executioner!! If you wish to pass, impress me, if not get the hell out!!", Sir Rafulton soon shouted to the crowd, no one moved all stayed put which he looked over everyone.
"Fine then follow me to your logical test.", Rafulton soon said as he began to walk back up the steps, with expectation for others to follow.
With Asher
Asher noticed the way the Sir Pots talked and noticed he acted like a drill sergeant of an army. He showed no remorse in his speech and didn't care about anyone's station, which got on nerve of some of the others he noticed. Asher didn't care as he soon followed the man up the steps, as the crowd of people continued to follow Asher turned his head at the sides of the walls. This continued til when Rafulton turned a corner... he was gone. Everyone began to panic which it seemed was he a ghost or was this apart of the test? He began to look around to see any secrets, he soon came on a painting to one wall well most of the others panicked. For a moment it looked like normal, but at the more he followed the other painting the more he noticed something on the things.
'Strange... its almost like its about... wait. It is isn't?!, Asher soon thought as he soon began noticing others moving away from the group or outright disappeared.
Most of the others were trying to figure out what in the world was going on, some said to follow the path way at the corner was best due to it was in the same direc- that was it!! Asher soon got out of the group noticing the various signs, in fact the walls were pictures of specific battles of the past, they were obviously had a strange order which lead to.
'So that is it!!'. Asher soon moved from the group and began following the paintings specifically in order where Dragoons fight in. He kept on following and most of the group mindlessly trying to figure things. As he came to follow each painting he turned and followed where it went. From stairs to through open door ways he finally came to a single door that lead to it. He soon opened and noticed a few others already inside all standing on the side and before him were desks.
"Ah another maggot managed to figure it out." Rafulton soon sad as he sat on a chair. Asher looked around and noticed people he knew, specifically James Gransela, Arvel Dunbar, Vivien Choel, Validar Bachelet and others.
"So I guess the trial began at the beginning huh.", Asher soon stated the obvious in front of the man before him.
"Of course one must be prepared for anything, even when you think one thing but not the other. Regardless Maggot, your the last one to arrive.", Rafulton soon said with a chuckle.
"Huh but aren't there suppose to be others?", Asher soon asked.
"They have a time limit and you just made it with the skin of your teeth. Now maggots take a seat the logical written part of the test is about to begin.", Rafulton said with a evil smile.

"Hmph, makes you wonder how loyal he is even to the Mountain King. One moment he's off insulting the High King with his actions along with the Mountain King, the next moment he's trying to get in favor of the princess. Even if he has the ability to be a dragoon I will not see him as anything but a traitorous rat."
When they started, Asher was just some other noble to him, not someone that he should care about. But his actions prove that he is not someone that James could place his trust, or even respect in. The only thing that's keeping him from cutting down the scorn fool is that technically they're still on the same side, as a noble of Zalboria,
"As for the scheming ones... well, let them do what they have to. If they think simple tricks will work on me then let them come, I'll show them what it means to stand before James Wong of Gransela."
Pretty soon he noticed the start of the trial, and got pass without much problem. However he focused more on 'seeing' the trail of Rafulton rather than the paintings, being the leader of a plain based clan means that your tracking skills would be much greater than most others, and James is not an exception. Several others with similar background as him have similar skills and reach Rafulton with their own ways.
He's just got one problem, being called a maggot over and over again, he's not too happy with that. But for now he'll just have to endure whatever insult that Rafulton throws at him.

With that Asher took his seat and one of the Dragoon's began handing tests, on it were of course the logical part of any test. Mathematics of weapons, battle tactics, how one can plan attacks. In fact most of the test was given to one level of a general and mechanic at the same time. For Asher strangely some of it was harder then he thought, the actual mechanics was above his own head. He was soon struggling figuring out his problems but continued to to try.
Sir Rafulton continued to watch as he saw some struggling with their tests, as expected Arvel Dunbar and Vivien Choel were going through them with ease. When he turned his head he soon saw the struggling face of Asher Rorke which he internally chuckled. If only he knew his test and one James Gransela test were purposely put harder then the others. For what reason others wouldn't know but for Rafulton he soon saw some contrast between the two. James Gransela's face showed calm demeanor who knew something was up with the test but likely knew these answers already. Asher on the other hand face couldn't hide the fact he was struggling. He also already figured out their personalities, Lord Gransela would follow the laws to the letter, a idealistic man who believe in the kingdom totally. In Asher he saw defiance but something else, it was just as idealistic as James but more realistic, almost like he gave off resentment to those in power. Both were honorable that is for sure in his mind but something was different between the two.
'I better watch them better, I got a feeling their meeting for this Trial was not happenstance. As well what is the Princess' gain for getting closer to the Rorke boy.'
He already had his suspicions but he would never voice it, after all he was a simple Captain of the Royal Dragoon Guard.
