As the portal opened it felt through turbulence. To be precise the hole itself was losing stability being caused by something. Well any inter dimensional portal that is it was simply throwing the instruments off its rockets or as Igor put it, when the hole cannot withstand your fat ass it spits you out. Igor was being practically choked by his employer and good friend Professor Merlin who was on the other end blaming for something he didn't do!! Not his fault the portal went unstable as soon as they got into the worm hole trying to get back into the mansion for a nice rest. Usually these trips wear Merlin out like a little bitch though he rather not say it in front of the man. After helping the previous world from its crisis it and enjoying the nice pleasantries of the Amazon as well seeing the Lunarians stuck on Earth finally back home it was a job well done. Lunar Plutocracy was no more now a new government was formed and the hostilities came to an end with the death of Apollyon Rorke. Who knows such a man had such a plan though it was both cruel and noble. To raise a flag of rebellion and war against the whole world even to his former allies was a feat in itself. Though it did seem tragic he was ended by his very own brother Achmetha Rorke. Who now interesting enough was King of the Spacenoids with his official marriage to the Queen of Spacenoids, Regina Xalboria. Still much as it was he did wonder whatever happened to James Wong, creating his own pirate nation forming into multiple super powers forced a halt of the war. Though this all took a few years to do it was interesting world to see in his eyes. Now where ever the portal was taking them it was forcing them without their notice.
As the portal's end came int view Igor soon shouted, "Professor Merlin I know your mad but its not my fucking fault!! Now look we coming at portals end so please!! STOP CHOKING ME!!"
"I want my TEA!! I want my CRUMPETS!! BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I WANT MY FLUFFY SLIPPERS!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO OUR MACHINE!!", Merlin cried out.
"BUT PROFESSOR THE DOOR TO THE PORT-", Igor soon shouted back til he noticed the exit of the portal,"AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", Igor soon shouted as Merlin shouted with him.
Soon the portal left and they were in mid air... and they were tumbling down continuing to fall not taking care of the surroundings soon they landed on something soft. As the dust settled they were both wozy from their fall til they noticed something below.
"Will.... will you guys get the fuck off of me!!", a man with green hair managed to say as he was under them.
"Oh thank you!! Thanks you!! THANK YOU!! To all gods of the various Dimensions!!", Merlin managed to say getting up and began kidding the ground.
"Err sorry about that.", Igor managed to say as he got up from the young boy no teenager below him.
"What was that about? Falling from the sky from some blue haze thing from there.", the green haired man soon asked.
"Well that is... uhhh...", Igor soon managed to say to finally look at the teen closer soon noticed something. That was not only he seemed familiar, but spoke familiar and almost like.
'No it couldn't be...' Igor soon thought as Merlin finally regained his composure.
"Now now lets see where we landed... hrmm grass and dirt I see... trees... ah must be nature.. bleh.. AGAIN!!", Merlin soon commented.
"Uhh what is with him? As well what is wrong with trees? I can tell you trees are good for shade and the best place to relax!! There the best thing to this world!!", the man soon defended the poor tree from this problem.
As this was getting out of hand Igor finally took notice the surrounding's as both the young man and Merlin began arguing about nature. Looking around it seemed actually peaceful almost oldish to his view and then finally noticing to the far distance it seemed like a city or a palace? He wasn't sure it was too far away but looked almost medieval in design. As this was happened he soon noticed men on horseback were riding down the main road which wasn't too far off at least the road looked paved. But the men on horseback? Was this a rich person's land? Those men looked to be wearing both armor and fur into their clothing their helmets were similar to what old British Royal Family from the Anno Domini timeline would look like. Except it obviously wasn't and the banner it seemed flying were with a castle wall and three symbols on it. As he soon got closer he soon noticed not only they were wearing older style clothing but also had revolver guns and even sabers. On the Horse saddle looked to have their objects but also holding some of their belongings and to him an old world war 2 era like gun. An old M1 Grand perhaps? Which lead to more confusion as weapon and clothing do not match up. As they rode close it seemed they saw them finally coming up the teen they noticed soon turned and his face went emotionless almost if a mask. Whoever these people were it made him even more on edge, as he walked in front of me I soon noticed he soon raised his hand in a strange gesture. Perhaps a form of greeting.
"Welcome my lords.", the man soon managed to say.
"Well well isn't it the lil Rorke boy. Out on being lazy well the Trial to begin so soon?", a person on a horse soon said he looked also to be a teenager and just as young the man they landed on. But what made Igor stopped was to hear the name Rorke once more. In his mind he began dreading as well thinking this couldn't be, this is defiantly no colony but the likelihood to see a teen looking like the previous two people they saw in the Dimension before. To leave and land on another it was a sense of humor for fate?
"Well I love this tree so much I couldn't help to take a nap you see. As well I have my own guests to take care of Bachelet. Unlike one who is very disrespectful to the commoners.", the Rorke boy soon said with a sneer one thought they were both about to go into full fight right there and now.
"Ah such a mouth, if only you were not the son to the Azure Hero Achmetha Rorke I would kill you for saying that. Alas we are family cousin even if its all political I do hope you do quite badly in the Trial. Me on the other hand I will surpass your joke of a father and bitch of a mother. Not even your Slut sister will be able to stop me!!", the teen soon said with a jeer which the man still emotionaless went stiff. Igor knew that human movement it seemed the teen was holding back from killing the man before him, it almost seemed he wanted to kill them all.
"Now I must be off cousin, have a nice nap with your old men friends. Who knew you were into old men! Ha no wonder you fail at having a chance with any women at Valhedge!! Boys come onward to Zaltium!", the teen said as soon the horsemen soon began riding off.
"Good day to do My Lord.", the boy said as they rode off as they left he soon released himself.
"FUCKING BASTARD!! I should of killed him all those years ago in that fight!! That stupid lil shit of a Bachelet!", the man managed to yell at himself.
As Igor and Merlin were left to their devices Merlin soon walked up with a ponder, "Hrmm interesting..."
"What is it now Professor?", Igor soon managed to say which he knew that face Merlin gave.
"Now now... it seems that little noble prick just not only insulted the boy who saved us from our fall. But as well insulted me?!! The great and all powerful PROFESSOR MERLIN!!", Merlin soon shouted.
'Oh boy... he is at it AGAIN.' Igor soon mentally thought.
As the boy finally calmed down he soon turns to his guests, "Err sorry you had to see that. That was my cousin his name is Validar Bachelet. He always was a douche and scumbag since I can remember. Even as children I would always beat the living crap out of him before. Well... before what happened ten years ago."
The boy soon eyes went down but soon shook his head then says, "Anyways forget about that you didn't tell me who you are and how the hell you came from the sky."
"Well my boy, I am the great and already mighty!! Note please with a g, mkay? All Powerful Professor Merlin!! Creator of great inventions and designer of weapons of great importance!!", Merlin was saying til Igor cut in, "Importance is a subjective term. Sometimes its just a coffee machine that needs fixing for those EDC when it broke." Which Merlin soon turns then says, "That is important without the coffee how could they not be awake when needed be?" Igor then simply shrugs then asks, "Yes but what about that Automatic Nail Clipper?" "Her majesty needed to not bend down her back was strained!!" "The Radioactive Naplam?" "They needed a fire to burn down the bee hive!!" "That Wind Pipe to shoots out blow darts that was meant to use to take out people in space suits?" "They specifically asked a weapon to take out people in sp- err your right on that one that is stupid." "I make my case.", Igor finished.
"Hey now lets stop trying to get off topic here!!", the green haired teen soon managed to say.
"Err right. Anyways back to my introduction, before I was rudely interrupted!!", Merlin soon said glaring daggers at his assistant. "As I was saying!! I AM PROFESSOR MERLIN!!", Merlin said dramatically then added in a dead panned voice, "and this smart ass here is my assistant Igor."
"How do you do.", Igor soon said with a smile.
"How do you do too... I think. So your saying your a mechanic?", the man soon said with a question.
"No not a mechanic an inve-", Merlin was saying which Igor soon says, "Yes an mechanic."
"Stop that will you!!", Merlin soon said with a face if annoyance.
"An inventor you see!! I can design anything you desire, I can even help you on designing a few things to take out that prick cousin of yours. If you get my drift.", Merlin soon added.
"That may sound nice and all but I think that would cause an internal clan crisis.", the boy managed to say.
As he soon looked at his old style watch he took out from his pocket, he soon says, "Well its about time now."
Which he soon began to gather his things, which one noticed a horse was tied to the tree.
"Time for what?", Igor and his wayward maniac asked.
"Today is the opening ceremony for the festival before the Trial of the Dragoon begins. Usually its a couple of days of endless feasting and merry making well those who come for the trial prepare themselves. Its also the beginning of the Dragon Royal Tournament which lasts for the next few months as Dragoons go from on tournament to the next til the finally the championships. All clans usually use this time for prestige, I mean outside the Royal Official Clan Wars this is the only time Clans actively fight amongst each other in combat to show off.", the man said as he finish putting all his belongings on the horse.
"Oh I see well that sounds nice to enjoy a bit of a break I wonder if it has good food.", Merlin soon said outloud as he was already getting hungry.
As the boy untied to horse he soon turned to both men expecting them to follow then stops when Igor soon said something.
"By the way boy... what IS your name?", Igor managed to ask.
"Oh ya forgot to tell you. I am Asher Rorke of the sub branch, Clan Rorke of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet Clan of the Paemir Region. Son of Dragoon Achmetha and Dragooness Regina Rorke.", the boy replied to Igor's dismay.
'Yep I knew it... why do I got a bad feeling we are about to get into more trouble? AGAIN?!' Igor thought then turned to his master who an glint in his eye appeared.
'Scratch that there WILL BE TROUBLE.', Igor mentally noted which he soon dreaded what was about to happen.
"Someone shoot me.", Igor muttered under his breath, thus the next adventure was about to begin.

In the days before time itself the Zeonic Demons lead their rebellion under the Demon Lord. In his arrogance he attempted to destroy what was rightfully the God's. They were thrown into the fray, the War of the Gods would lead the Earth into total desolation. All lead to by the great Red Comet and his horde. That was the day the Hero of the god's died along his gallant White Dragon. The Earth destroyed the heaven's were thrown into endless war.
-Path of the Centuria The Year is 907 of the Age of Comet, the world itself having rebuilt from the ashes of the Dark Wars. Nations have both crumbled and reappeared as the time occurred but even so the land of Alterntia, The Land of the Alternative have continued to exist to this day. In the North the Far Kingdom of Zalboria the great kingdom that defeated two empire is where this story begins. A land of great wealth and power. A land full of heroes but also villains. These Heroes called the Dragoons protect this land and their loyalty to their Clansmen. Even so their mistrusted, treated with scorn and seen as monsters by both clansmen and commoners. Even so they continued to show great power for they are the only ones who command mighty Dragons. These Dragons are large mechanical beings from the ancient past created by the ancients even now they are hard to replicate and used crude weapons to make up for lack of technology. Still such lost technology is on the rise five nations rule the continent and Zalboria is only but a moderate power. The Central Empire of Baladorax, ruled by an old dying Emperor who have kept his blade sheathed after his father failed to conquer the land to the north. To the south the bastion of the so called democracy some people cling to but only a nation in name ruled by all powerful city-states, The Southern Republic of Edaustros. Even though it is more oligarchy then democracy. To the west the cousins of hose of Zalboria, the United Principality of Raoecia, ruled by a Grand Prince who is descendant of the original Royal Clan of Zalboria. Though like Zalboria the various Prince's constantly bickering. Then finally to the east The Minor Kingdom of Doevoasau, exciled from their homeland and founders of the Old Eastern Empire which utterly collapsed. They plot to store their might on the land as a Second Wind of the East. This world this New Earth continues to divide itself, with what is called the Minovksy Particle Occurance. Much of this world is stuck to a near standstill. Regardless today on the eve of the Trial of the Dragoon this world, this nation of Zalboria will undergo a change. Something is about to occur and only one thing it will bring. An Age of Violence, an Age of Betrayal, an Age of Despair, but also an Age of Hope, Happiness and Love. The 10th Century of the Age of Comet will forever change history. But what will you do? How far will you go for your Clan and Zalboria?

As Asher was leading his two strange acquaintances it was not becoming a very strange day. For one he only took a nap after a long days ride to relax before arriving to the capital, under a nice tree which normally would be relaxing. Alas in Asher's own string of bad luck he noticed some weird blue thing in the sky and then suddenly these two landed on HIM of all people. To make matters worse Validar Bachelet had to show up which he had an urge to smack his face in. The two cousin's have always had bad blood between each other since childhood with the death of the Head of the Rorke Branch only made it worse. Of course most view both he and Validar as animals who needed to be caged, as both were children of previous Dragoons. Strange as it was Bachelet treated him kindly but not to Asher, no he was both a Rorke a failure to protect the King as a branch and he Asher who always skipped classes and seen as sub par to many.
Asher didn't give a fuck what his family view him in fact he began to simply not care for his lessons, rather spend time out in the field on the grass under a tree was much better time spent. Seeing those eyes of scorn from the commoners also didn't help much as they saw him more a inferior product of the system. His father Achmetha the Azure Dragoon and former Rider of the Azure Dragon did many things in his life except making Rorke's look bad by marrying a fellow Dragoon, his mother Regina of Dahut. Not to mention the Fafian Rebellion ended his career prematurely to the point that Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet Clan had no current wielder's to its mighty Azure Dragon, that is til his sister showed up..
What bugged him more so is that recently she has left the Clan to serve the Mountain King Neville Lamont thus no longer had a wielder to the Clan's prized procession. To the Bachelet branch it was a betrayal of the highest order. Even though he did love his sister as one brother should, even he saw that one act itself questionable. Rumors began to spread that she spread her legs to him, and thus why she betrayed her clan by going directly under his command. Of course this further made Asher recent his own people and family when he knew she wasn't that kind of person. This is what lead to the current predicament. As its been already almost a year she since left the Clan needed a new main Dragoon for its Dragon and so happens he was forced to packed up to come here of all places. The Trial the Dragon the single most important event in an Apprentice Dragoon's life, to determine if your even worthy to wield such a weapon. Here also both created and shattered one's dreams as well for most do not pass and the view who do then had a tough choice. Your Clan or the Royal Dragoon Guard, no option 3 you must choose or suffer consequences. Being forced here he was now show he must pass so he can prove he is worthy to be a Rorke for his own branch well the show he was better then that bastard Validar.
As he turned to notice both the old men in his mists their clothing strange which made him wonder what kind of fabric to make such clothing was possible. As well that one called Professor Merlin... well he was off... as for his Assistant Igor has been eying him the entire way which made him wonder what this man was plotting. As Asher turned he soon noticed they finally came to the great walls of the capital city, large as it was, it was made to withstand a siege but more importantly large enough to prevent enemies from simply taking the city. The various fixed positions of cannons and noticing even some places to store what appeared to be Battle Vehicles, namely tanks, and armored carriers. Soldiers as well looked top notched compared to many places though Asher could tell they likely hardly seen a day of battle unlike those of the Paemir Region which war was both a business but also a way of life.
When coming to the main gate a check point was made ahead of it, with the Festival of Trial of the Dragon set to begin today of course the place would have higher security. As well he was coming to the eastern gate which was pure land compared to the western gate which a large body of water a river into a lake that lead directly into the city was another way in. The Northern Gate was a bit more uphill, well the southern gate was more lower with a way easily see for miles away. Leading his two new found 'friends' Asher promptly ignored the longer line which were used by Commoners and Merchants who were of not too importance. Being both technically a Noble but also a participate in the Trial does come with taking the shorter lines. As they got into it during the entire time he could hear Merlin speak of great Architecture and much to being quite not so impressed in terms of looks but was impressed in the artistic style of the wall.
As Asher's turn finally came he soon walked up to the guard who was sitting on the table, a bit on the fat side he had two regular looking guards with their helmets on. Unlike much of the Paemir Region the Guards of the capital actually looked fancy in terms of more feathers and was that a ribbon? Really a Ribbon wouldn't even stop a blade or a bullet with much. In fact they looked more like peacocks then guards and actually even in Paemir a fat guard usually only were retired ones not active ones. As he finally came to his senses he soon heard the question.
"Name?", the Guard said in a bit of a yawn.
"Asher Rorke.", Asher soon replied.
"State of Business within the City?", the Guard boringly asked the next question.
"Participate of the Trial of the Dragon.", Asher promptly replied, which the man looked at him in a you don't look strong enough kind of face.
"Others with you?", the guard then asked.
"Yes two old men an uhh... 'inventor' by the title of Professor Merlin and his assistant Igor.", Asher soon said which made the man raise his eye brows.
"Inventor? What in the Path's name is that?", the guard soon inquired.
"My my I am glad you asked my good guard sir. My your colors are fascinating from what animal did they come from?", Merlin soon said which both Igor and Asher soon felt giving a face of not again.
"The usual place a Guild shop by the name Mardine's Magical and Mythical Pleasantries.", the guard soon said with finally someone liking his type of custom he done to his uniform.
"Is he always like this?", Asher whispered to Igor well Merlin distracted the man a bit.
"Of course, you get used to it.", Igor whispered back as both noticed others in the lines were now staring at them.
After too much time for his tastes they finally got through with the man then says, "Remember what I said!! Have a nice time within the city!!"
"You too my good man!", Merlin soon said as he both went passed without being actually inspected thoroughly.
"See that is how one enters a city without needing much man handling of one's one items!! Now my good boy you must show me the nearest place to eat!! I must say I am parched and famished!!", Merlin soon replied.
"Oh hold one moment there, I only got you into the city that you are on your own.", Asher was saying as he was about to leave.
"But we have no form of valuable assets how will we even get such delicacies?", Merlin soon said which to Asher's annoyance meant money.
"Ok fuck fine and you both still need to explain how the fuck you landed on me!!", Asher soon said as he soon tried to remember the city layout. It has been years since he was here though back then a boy and before all shit hit the fan with the Fafian Rebellion.
Some time Late
As they finally found a nice stand to eat there was a small table in the outside well the inside of the place was completely packed. It was of course Festival day and many people from all over were in the capital for this event. Noble Clans, Minor Clans, Commoners of all assortment it was practically one of the largest events in the kingdom exception of a few others.
"This is interesting in.. taste.", Merlin soon said as he ate some of the mutton he was served.
"Its Mutton what you got a problem with it?", Asher soon said eating like its a normal thing.
"Well its not that... I just wish I had tea.", Merlin soon said as he drank this weird drink.
"Tea? What the fuck's that?", Asher said without knowing the finer drinks of life, such a simple Clansman.
"Tea is a form of leaves that are pounded in or put in a drink to give off an aroma. Or something like that...", Igor soon said trying to explain what it was.
"Oh you mean what Baladoraxian Imperial bastards drink.", Asher soon said with understanding.
"Baladoraxian?", Igor soon questioned which Asher looked like they didn't know the obvious before soon people were gathering together.
"The Parade is about to begin the opening ceremony thereafter!!", some random commoner soon said as the people were moving to get to see it in person.
"Parade?", Merlin and Igor soon said together as they finally finished their meal.
"Ya its usually just a show of force of the Imperial Guard marching down the main street with the High King, his family, his court, and whatever fucking extravagance they can think of.", Asher said as he soon paid the stand owner.
"Ah I see.", Merlin soon said as Asher soon got up.
"Well might as well go watch it. There is nothing we can do til its over, because the way to the hotel I have rented is closed off due to the parade.", Asher soon said gathering his things with him holding his horse by its reigns.
At the main Street.
If someone knew this city it was likely the most advanced city in all the kingdom, lamps which ran on electricity were currently turned off but it was noted, there was of course streets being very wide to take both horses but also vehicles namely cars, though not that much bigger. One could see newspaper stand at one point to give off the latest news to the commoners. One could see the fashion of the capital itself was quite different from other regions businessmen wore this weird things like suits to Asher which looked odd. Some had these weird suspenders which gave some men a weird look compared to his perfectly good fur. Speaking of that Asher noticed many gave him weird looks as he looked so obviously different from those of the Capital, it was expected many of the various regions had their own form of clothing which showed the diversity of the clans. As he finally came to the main street he soon heard horns and various instruments like drums and clarinets playing. It was an odd sensation to him because in Paemir they hardly ever did such speckle, no training for war and preparing if the Empire ever would return was far more important.
The talks of the great war with the atrocities committed by the Empire, with talks of their great war machines and aerial might which brought Paemir Region to its knees. To the people of the Paemir Region it was still fresh in their minds even if almost half a century have passed. Being a border Region the war never ended raids on both sides continued to this day, and the tensions have been rising further as the current High King has done increasingly nothing for the people of the South East. But here in the center of the nation, what some clans call center to the world to them, which made Asher vomit inside at their arrogance there was no treat of looming war. No it was a place of celebration and peace. No such thing as a war as if it was already fully forgotten, it was no surprise not once Zaltium Region been a site to war, no the last was during the Civil War six generations ago and the closest was during the Baladoraxian War but they were stopped in the lands controlled by the Exion Clan. There the Clans united together under the High King who meet his foe on the field of his choosing decided the end of the war and the defeat of the XIth Aerial Legion.
The band was playing and marching down the streets, the Royal Guard were in tow on their majestic horses doing various tricks and getting the crowd in celebration. A Show to the common folk that here we are at peace and here we great! Sometimes full soldiers would march in their best uniforms fully armored which of course in real war was totally useless against fire arms, in this day in age but who cares? They were for the commoners who only once in a blue moon see that armor. Flags and pageantry would preside in the parade as floats using vehicles underneath passed by with various lords and rich men who managed to get into this parade in some form, likely simply paid to get in. As the parade continued with the endless drumming of marching and music from the marching bands soon one noticed the main part of the event that many people been waiting for, that is of course the High King and his court were making their way down of course on fantastical carriages being pulled by great white horses. Asher actually never seen the High King nor the court before so he was shown in interest.
"Look its the High King as his court!", one commoner yelled.
"Look its the High King himself!! May the Path protect him!", another person cried out.
"Long Live the High King! Long Live the High King!", a third person shouted out.
Asher finally got a good look at the High King and to his disappointment he was not much to look at. He was short very short and stubby as well. One could tell he had a belly fat beginning to form likely to laziness. Once more he didn't look much a King in fact from his memory seeing the Mountain King when he visit Valhedge Citadel City, now he looked like a King. Both strong and fit, he was honorable and respectful to everyone. Here before him was simply a lazy ass man who simply didn't do much in his life, he could of at least sat on a great white horse in armor to hide his growing gut for crying out loud.
"Look it is the Queen!!", another shouted.
"Look the Crown Prince and his siblings as well!!", another as well shouted.
Asher soon turned to see and soon saw well at least the King had fine tastes in ladies. Before him was a beautiful but much older then he, Queen, her red hair though coming with a bit aged was sitting in a dress with of course a crown on her head. One could tell even at her age she was still have beauty left outside, and still had that aura. The next was the Crown Prince, unlike his father he wore full plated armor as well a helmet on top of his dark red head. He at least looked the part of a King unlike his father but something felt off to Asher when he stared as he was passing by. The next of course was the Crown Prince's Siblings the two younger brothers who looked 7 and 8 years old respectively. Then there was the three daughters, the youngest looked to be 5 well the 2nd oldest looked to be 11. But when he turned to the oldest daughter Asher soon noticed why a lot of the commoners were staring. The woman in her carriage had an neutral looking face and he could tell she was only pretending to enjoy this. Regardless all normal men noticed she had the same kind of aura as her mother the queen was giving off. This made Asher almost felt he was hit by a freight train but at the same time it felt unnatural like she was living a lie. Regardless as the carriage passed he noted her eyes for only a brief second turned to see him and his two fellow acquaintances like she actually noticed him amongst this crowd. But then soon turned back like nothing happened for a second he thought she saw him but it wouldn't be that.
During all this suddenly he felt something but it was weird, not right but he shook his head off for a second. Looking across from the street he soon saw someone or something was staring at him, for a brief second he 'sensed' something but soon as he blinked the person was gone, he couldn't tell if it was a man or woman but felt he was being watched.
'What in the Path's name?'
"Well that was interesting.", Merlin soon said as he knew something just happened only he could notice.
"Say what...", Asher managed to shake his head for a second which he finally regained composure.
"Oh nothing... say are you ok there my boy, Asher?", Merlin soon said with he knew something.
"I am fine just a second just felt a bit... err I am totally fine.", Asher then replied which Merlin and Igor looked to each other if speaking something only they knew.
"Right. Now with this parade coming to a close what is next?", Igor soon managed to clean the air.
"Well first off we can head to the hotel for now then the opening ceremony would take place when it gets dark. Then the High King will do some speech and the main feast would begin in the center square, of course those of the court will not be there but instead be in the grand hall, its pretty much to fit over a thousand people at once if needed to be. There the Clans would enjoy themselves well the rest of us would either eat out here or be near the end of the table. I mean since I am a Apprentice Dragoon technically not allowed on the main tables.", Asher soon replied with much knowledge.
"You keep saying Apprentice Dragoon, what is this term we keep hearing about? Is it a title a form of knighthood?", Merlin soon asked.
"No its much worse its more of a curse then a blessing really. You will see from the Trial of the Dragon, then you will understand.", Asher soon said beginning to lead them through the crowds towards the hotel.

The path that connects the capital and Gransela was quite well developed thanks to the rich Exion clan that controlled much of the South, so many Southern clan leaders prefer to take the carriage over other methods of traveling, James however are one of the few exceptions. Raised to be the successor to the position of leader of a clan that focused on combat and mobility, horse riding was more important than just a simple hobby, it was a standard. To ride the most mighty horses and control your mount as if it is your own limbs is something that is respected among those of the Gransela clan, and James himself is one of the few that can perform such a task, bringing out the abilities of the horses under his control.
So instead of a single carriage, James the Lord of Gransela, and Yumi his personal guard, dashes through the well paved road on horses. To not draw any alert from the guards, the two pull their mounts to a stop a short distance before the gate, and slowly walk over. James turns to Yumi, who nods and take a medal out to show the guards to identity themselves.
"I am James of Gransela, the lady here is my personal guard, and I carry nothing but my strength, my pride, and but what is needed to survive."
In other words, their weapons, horses, and but a bit of gold. The unit that Exion has promised would be transported by the Exion themselves, so he had little need to bring items of his own. Though they are a visitor, having a valid proof of their identity, and being a low in rank but powerful noble allowed him to enter the city without further questioning. The two enters the city, and takes a look around.
"Just like I remembered it, last time I came was with my father, but the excitement back then was no matched for the hardship in the past few years."
"Hm, my only memory is when the old master took me out of the cages."
"It might be a bad memory for you, but for me I'm glad that happened, wouldn't want to miss having you by my side."
Yumi didn't answer, but looks away from him, seemingly hiding her embarrassment to his remarks. But it's common that she don't show much respond to such remarks, so James didn't pursuit on the matter, and instead looks around for a suitable location for their stay. But before they could do that, a well-dressed man walks up to the two.
"Lord Gransela, the Duke of Exion would like to see you."
"Oh? My lord has already arrived? Please, lead the way."
The three then head towards another mansion within the city.
-
[Sometime later]
They arrive at a well-maintained mansion that the Exion clan owns, and often used when the Duke has to come to the capital. Their horses are stored in the stables, and while Yumi waits in the room that they were given, James heads to meet Charles, the Duke of Exion. Keeping a much more formal stance, James greet his lord.
"James of Gransela, here at your summon."
"Hm, well met, good to see that you have finally arrived."
The Lord of Exion is a man in his late 50s, age has started to take it's toll on the older man, but in no way would anyone mistaken him for a weak and helpless old man.
"As we have discussed, I have chosen you to participate in the trial of dragons. As such, I officially give you the rights to the mobile suit "Tyr", may your loyalty guide Exion to glory."
"Thank you, my lord."
"Good, good... you are dismissed, after taking a look at your new weapon, why don't you take a look at the city? You've had tough times in the past few years, take some time off and relax before the trail."
"Understood!... If it is acceptable, I have a... question."
As the official business seems to be over, he seems more relaxed, but that shouldn't explain why he's not looking at Charles in the eye.
"Hm? What is it?"
"I eh... want to ask... will Flo... will the lady come to the trial?"
"Hahaha... it's not like you James, don't worry I won't have any thing against it. My daughter would arrive before the trial begins, won't want you to be distracted now do we."
"Y-yes my lord, I'll... go now."
"Very well, enjoy yourself and be prepared."
-
[Main Street]
Now on foot with their horses stored in the stables, the two pushes through the crowds in order to take a look at the passing high king and his family. Though to be honest, James enjoyed looking at the designs of their carriages more than the family itself, but he did take a close look at the crown prince, and for his personal interest at the three daughters. However he was disappointed that the younger two are quite too young for his taste, the oldest one is a different story, but a sense of pressure makes it difficult for him to enjoy his views of that woman.
When he followed the eyes of the princess, he noticed Asher, but cared little for the man. Instead he had more interest in the strange looking pair that seems to be follow him, surely he cannot let that go unnoticed. After getting Yumi's attention, he heads towards the same direction, but take a shortcut so he would end up slightly ahead of the strange group. Yumi takes a look at James, questioning his motives.
"I might not be living in this city, but I still have the duty of a Knight to keep order. Those two men seems out of place, and they could be spies. Even if not they are still shady characters that is best if we question them, to at least identify them."
Hearing the answer, Yumi nods and continues, at least it's a valid reason and not because he's jealous at not getting all the attention from the girls or something of the sort. The two arrives at a crossroad ahead of Ashen's group, and stands side by side to block their path, but not showing hostility... yet.

The bridge of the Leviathan was spacious enough, for a submarine. Even so the feeling of the walls pressing down on you could get to a man who wasn't well used to the conditions. Cadan Kasorymor was not one of those men. Well at home on ships and at sea, he sat upon his captain's chair without a care in the world as his bridge crew directed the prized vessel of his clan down the river feeding into Lake Zalt, from where the capital city itself derived its water supply. Whether the lake was named after the city, or if it was the other way around, no one could remember after so long. The Margrave didn't worry about it.
"Steady as she goes." He said to his staff when the river lead them into the lake. The ride was a little bumpy, the current pushing them along, as if eager to have the bulk of their craft free of its waters.
"Aye, captain." The woman in charge of maneuvering curtly replied.
Behind the mask he always seemed to be wearing, his eyes moved across the bridge from corner to corner, examining it for the hundredth time along with the fine boys and girls helping him run it. It was a good ship, passed down in his family the way some of these land-based clans passed down their MS. It was likely just as old too, maybe even older. A lot of work had to be done to maintain it over the years, delicate and irreplaceable parts removed for bulkier, lower tech solutions when the originals wore out; sometimes they bought from the guild to take advantage of their 'cutting edge' technology instead. It was a little less roomy in the command center here than when his father sat in this very place over a century ago for that reason, after the renovations and such. But all in all, the Leviathan was a good ship, a true terror of the deep. Totally silent and extremely fast, running on a power source that used no fossil fuel. Better still, it could hide beneath the waves and strike with fury unmatched to surprise the unwary, a technology that has been recreated, but not yet mastered. With most nations' focus on mobile weaponry, Cadan was certain he would own the seas for a time to come.
Its crew were also the finest in his clan, hand picked. They were all like his family by now, fitting, considering how long they'd be stuck together on a long voyage at sea. Once done browsing the crew his keen gaze moved back to the main screen that showed the course ahead. Most submarines had no visual sensors, his did. A small gesture it would seem at first, but the advantage conferred was phenomenal. If nothing else, it also helped to greatly relieve boredom and claustrophobia to see the wonders of the deep. Through them, Kasorymor watched the walls of the city grow taller as they cut across the lake's surface to approach the docks from due west. Lake Zalt was a big lake, shipping used it and its rivers frequently to move goods throughout the Zaltium region. Warships usually did not navigate inland waterways, but Cadan was no normal sailor, and the Leviathan was no ordinary ship. The vessel's twin eyes sat just above water level, with its conning tower raised out into the air like the fin of a great shark. Indeed, to the commoners of the city it would look uncanny, the ship resembling a sea monster come to bring ruin to the area more than a ship on a glorified mail call. No doubt, that perception heavily influenced the name.
"Maybe if we're lucky we'll scare the locals away from the docks so we can get in without a fuss." Cadan said in jest to one of his officers.
"Heh. It's never that easy, Cap'n."
"Oi, a man can dream. I remember the first time I sicked this boat on the Queen. She still hasn't forgave me for scaring her entire entourage during their little beachfront tour." He fondly recalled.
"She was right pissed at you for that one."
"Wouldn't have it any other way. Queen of Kollelkost my butt."
"Too true Cap'n, that title belongs to you."
A joke of that caliber would probably get a man beaten at best for disrespecting the nobility, but it just made Cadan laugh.
"Damn right it does. I don't care if they call me the Great Bastard Child of the Deep, long as they remember those islands are mine and so is everyone on 'em. You lot are stuck with me to the end of the earth."
"Wouldn't 'ave it any other way, boss." Another man chimed in.
"World already ended once as I recall. The old stories?" The girl from prior thought to bring up.
"Guess you're shit out of luck then, because it ain't happening again on my watch!"
The banter was cut short when they proceeded past the harbor's gates and found a good mooring point. The nobles had their own section cordoned off for use during the event, so it was a mercifully short excursion. A good thing too, as the rest of the dockyard was packed with merchant vessels bringing supplies in hopes of trade during the busy occasion, along with visitors from abroad to see the trials. The Sea Lord picked up the phone built into the arm of his chair and dialed in the entire ship.
"This is the Captain, we've arrived at Zaltium City. From this moment on you're all on shore leave, I don't care what you do in town as long as you don't get caught doing it. Just because I can bail you out of jail doesn't mean you want me to, I'll have you scrapping barnacles off the hull for a month. Now, I want a security detail watching my ship at all times, and another with me. Those of you stuck as my escorts, meet at the airlock in 10 minutes. Rest of you, get lost and have some fun on the King's doria. We deserve it." Once finished saying what he had to say, he hung up summarily and headed for the exit hatch to proceed with his bodyguards.
A little later
Margrave Kasorymor made his way to the Main Street just in time for the parade, with a group of Gwithyas at his side to accompany. Cadan wore his usual naval officer's uniform, and his men sported similar. Dark green jackets with gold bands across the front, notably fewer than Cadan's, with a khaki undershirt below it and slacks of the same color to match - the soldiers preferred to wear their jackets open when not in cold conditions. Their outerwear lacked the tasteful, if gaudy, epaulettes and gilded sleeve designs like the boss's. Over top of the shirt they clearly wore armored vests of more expensive make than those of the trevlu back in Kollelkost. The militias used rubber backed with leather, the Gwithyas had a vest of nylon with aluminum plates woven into the material. While both could block bullet and blade, these were much more likely to stop a rifle sized round at close distance. Their helmets were steel with a visor that could be flipped up or down; for now they were up. Over their backs were slung longarms, both proudly and openly displaying their arms and armor alongside Cadan.
Not at all content to miss the view from within the crowd the rowdy band hoisted themselves up onto the lip of a fountain and from there watched the parade go by. It was fortunate the sailor wore a mask, because it meant he didn't have to try and hide his contempt for the slovenly king riding so smugly upon his float. He quickly deduced that those vehicles below them were sophisticated petroleum burning designs, and that only made him frown harder at the fact that technology was being both hoarded and wasted on something so petty as a parade. But he put up with it because he was here for a very specific reason...
But he didn't find it. He was hoping to see Queen Mary Lamont in the parade, but apparently only the High King and his favored kin were there.
"No luck, my lord?" One of the bodyguards inquired.
"None. Maybe she went on ahead at the grand hall."
"I'm sorry to hear, margrave."
"Ah well. I can meet up with her later." Cadan said and hopped off the edge of the stone fountain that him and his entourage were using, the men did the same and followed him as he moved through the crowds and back to the docks. He had seen enough of the overripe landlubbers and their parade, there was no reason to stick around to see the rest. The real events wouldn't kick off until night, and while they were given rooms in the city for the duration of the trials, he'd much rather be in his ship than rub elbows with the local bluebloods looking to curry favor with the various clans here to compete. All the ass kissing brought out in these events was enough to turn a stomach of iron.
In truth, his relationship to the Queen of Kollelkost wasn't as bitter as it would appear; a sporting rivalry would be a good way to put it. He didn't like anyone else being able to call themselves the ruler of his land even if their power was wholly bunk, and she knew that. In retaliation he usually distorted every request she made, amongst other attempts at one-up-manship. For instance, she had wanted to take his vessel here. That wasn't an uncommon request, his ship was quite spectacular and it would no doubt be the talk of the town for her to arrive in it...and it was fast, that was another key benefit. That's why he sent it out to sea and sunk it the day before her messenger arrived, having got word from a contact what she was planning beforehand.
Sucker.
...though that vaguely made him wonder if she wasn't in the parade because he made her late in doing so. Ah well, not his problem. She can help pay for the damn thing if she wants free board.
On their way out of the parade ground Cadan briefly noticed Asher and the two men at his side. He didn't recognize any of the trio, but did notice how out of place and lost the two older gentlemen looked, this is what made them stand out enough to draw his attention. As a career brigand his keen eyes picked out the second group from Gransela moving to cut them off, he always knew a maneuver like this when he saw it. That lot he had vaguely heard about, they were the sword of the rich and prosperous Exion clan, who outsourced their muscle to smaller vassals if memory serves. A short laugh escaped his lips while watching the scene unfold. In truth, he had already slated his own men to be the first ones to cause a ruckus during the ceremony, but hey, he wasn't going to complain if someone else got the black ball for once.
For now the Kasorymor group didn't move to do anything about it, or even act as if they were paying attention.

Asher lead his two guests to the Hotel they were going to stay in, unlike his cousin who was invited into the small mansion of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet that was in the city when the clan came to stay. He was not allowed in, as not the dominate branch now and technically in disgrace he was forced to buy rooms to an Hotel within the city, and due to not large budget it would actually be a commoner's hotel. Asher was used to it, he hardly cared anyways as he preferred living like a commoner easier to be unseen. As he lead them down a road he didn't notice James and his guardian moving to cut him off, though he felt something was staring at him, he was not even sure what it meant. As he continued down the road he soon was coming up to an intersection which was two blocks away from his destination, looking back at his two acquaintances they were looking at the surroundings still intrigued at the design. Still in his mind something else was bothering him that was the parade itself, it both made him bored but also he couldn't take his mind on what happened. He was sure she looked at him but maybe in fact she was staring at Merlin and Igor? It wouldn't be a first, as they did look and act strange. Or it could of been his dress was still in the Paemir Regional Attire and similar to what the Mountain King wore as well who decided to take on the Regional clothing as his royal garb. Without really noticing the cutting off in front of him it was almost too late when he bumped into James.
"Huh... Oh sor-", Asher was saying when he got out of a daze and noticed the man before him.
"Uh... sorry about that can you please move?", Asher soon said as Merlin and Igor walked right behind him.
"Hrmm? Trouble my boy?", Merlin soon asked.
"Professor there is always trouble a brew when your walking.", Igor soon added.
"Hey, what was that?!", Merlin soon said.
Asher soon noticed the two before him one was the man before him he looked like a guild similar to his own possibly an Apprentice Dragoon here for the Trial as well? Then he turned to see the woman next to him which he noticed her assets but also how emotionless she seemed which made it a bit creepy.
"Uhh can I help you?", Asher soon asked but felt that was wrong thing.

Yumi herself don't care too much about Asher looking at her, after all her lord is James, and we all know what that means. But James had half a mind to draw his blade and introduce Asher's neck to his sword for "noticing" Yumi's "assets", eventually he decides against it and just point at the two strange men.
"You can't, but it would save you a lot of trouble if you would either step aside, or is able to provide proof of these two mens identity. A pair of shady characters from parts unknown being in the city, during an important event such as the trial of the dragon, could very likely be foreign spies... Now, would you kindly do as I've ask, or should I take you to the guard house and introduce you to the barred up rooms for a few days?"
He's not going to cut down the two strange men on his own of course, but arresting the two and taking them to the authority for a questioning seems to be the right choice to make. After all if these two are really spies, they could be here to sabotage the mobile suits, or even assassinate important members of powerful clans and the royal family. The chance might not be too high, but the only one to blame would be those two, being suspicious at such an important event.
Though the two are just standing in front of Asher and his group, they're more than prepared for the need for combat. Yumi has her hand on the handle of her sword, and James is but a second away from pulling out his prized Armored Magnum to blast the possible spies in half.

Cadan watched the exchange go down from a distance. No words could be heard over the throngs of people, naturally, but the gestures and poking at the outlanders said plenty enough. Looked like group B was laying down the law on A, probably for good reason.
"Looks like everyone's already having a good time." Kasorymor joked, nudging one of his men.
"I'm envious, boss."
"Don't be, we get plenty of fun that won't wind up with us in the clink...or a duel. Those two can handle it."
With a jerk of the head the party of islanders moved to avoid the confrontation, leaving them both to sort it out.

Asher saw the two before him he wasn't sure who he was but to act like all high and mighty made him a bit reminded of Validar exception without the annoying voice and a bunch of petty followers at his tail. He wasn't going to allow Merlin and Igor be taken, not only they owed him money he paid for their food but they had some explaining to do on what occurred earlier. For this moment Asher didn't want this man and his partner from taking them away. As well doing so likely make him wanted by the guard needlessly, which somehow if he heard Validar would so enjoy helping him his humiliation in the process. Still honor bound to both find answers and they owing him he was only thing to do.
"Well under normally I would... but..", Asher soon said then suddenly taking out two hidden 8 Shot Revolvers from his cloaked aimed at both. Of course expecting their own weapons to be drawn it would simply be a standoff then anything.
"They are honor bound to me and they owe me. As well I have my own questions and not you or some guard would get in my way. Now lets just take this calmly and both of you move aside. My two acquiescence's and I will go through you will let us pass and we will forget this ever happened between us. Understand?", Asher soon said with a threat, as a man of the Paemir they do take honor seriously. As not to mention they are not pushovers when making a threat, though Asher simply wanted to avoid this conflict to begin with. To get to the commoner hotel relax for a few days then to the Trial, simple and clean. Exception this man before him just had to go and ruin that.

As soon as he saw any wrong move from Asher then James would already be pointing his own weapon at him, the Armored Magnum is a large handgun with enough firepower to punch through armored units, and more than enough to turn any human being into pieces. But even faster than James and Asher is Yumi, who draws her sword from her side. By the time Asher and James are finished with their moves, the sharp point of her blade would have already be touching the skin of Asher's neck, close enough for him to feel the cold, steel blade.
The best way to avoid conflict would have been to just go with the two, after all if the two strange men are really just regular civilians, then they would have been released within a few minutes of their arrival. But Asher resisting the arrest is pretty much the same as pleading guilty to his crimes, and give James every reason he needs to deal with this situation by force. Not to mention Asher was the first to carry out an aggressive action, so even if you take out the faction of the two men, he would still be at fault for drawing his weapon against a minor, but a fellow noble. After all, neither James or Yumi had actually draw their weapons, just had their hands on them to be ready.
"Then you leave me no choice, guards!!"
At his call, a dozen guards rushes out from the sides and surround both parties. Normally the city guards should not be so quick at their job, but the security of the city is much higher than usual thanks to the events that's being taken place within the city. Not only that, their equipments are of higher quality, with many of them carrying firearms, while others have shields that are normally used to protect important figures in the case of an attack. One of the guards, wearing extra badges compared to the others, took a few step forward and yell out at Asher.
"Put down your weapon now! Or you will pay with your blood!"
Obviously he's only referring to Asher, seeing how the guards all aimed at him instead of towards James and Yumi. Sometimes it's better to inform the parties involve before you carry out an operation, at least with the right actions James have managed to avoid faults towards him in this situation.

"You called that one." One of the gwithyas noted, looking over his shoulder to see the posse of armed guards surround the trio.
It made the sailor laugh. "Don't I always? I'm a regular prophet."
((I'll pass, since I have no reason to get involved in that scuffle.))

Asher was quick but this woman next to James was defiantly faster, he simply was hoping the man before him would back off. Alas he was now in the situation he wanted to avoided. Now being surrounded by Guards, a gun at his face, and of sword a sword at his neck he knew the end.
Asher sighs then says, "Damn and here I thought I would get a normal day in the capital."
Soon he undoes the hammer of his guns and let the handle go but the guns still ringing on his fingers. He soon raised his hand in surrender no point when he was only here for a Trial. With that he expected to be dragged away along with his belongings and horse. Still he knew Validar would likely near soon though Asher did wonder who the hell was that man who stopped him and to his what nerve to suddenly ask questions. Already the man moved from an annoyance to his shit list whoever it was.

Some guards goes over and put handcuffs on Asher and the two strange men, but James who had put away his weapons, goes over to the guard captain for a short talk.
"Captain, the young man's foolish, but he's got honor in defending those two that's with him. And he looks like he's got connections, so I would prefer if he's not treated too roughly."
"Yes my lord, I'll make sure he won't get treated the same as commoners. Men, take them away!"
A carriage gets called over and the three arrested men are guided over, then taken away to the guard house for further questioning. After he see that his job is done, James turns to head back to the Exion mansion with Yumi following close behind. If he's a commoner then he would have asked for some coins as reward, but a small bonus like that is not what he's aiming for, so he may as well save himself time and just leave before any other event happens. But he can't help but feel that it won't be the last time that he'll see those trios.
"You were a bit slow in drawing your gun just now, did those three caught your interest that much?"
"No, it's not that... I suppose I'm just, a bit tired from the way here."
It's a little bit more than that, both Asher and the princess from earlier gave him a strange feeling. From the princess a feeling of pressure, but yet she seems to long for something. While the man seem to be quite reckless for his age... or perhaps James just have more control of himself due to his duty and positions.
Yumi seems a bit concerned after hearing James is tired, but there's little she can do, after all she's not a doctor.
"Perhaps we should get some rest then, there's still a busy schedule later."
"Yeah, I should, lets go back."
Like she said, it's going to be a busy day for James, so he may as well get as much rest as possible back at the mansion.

Opening Ceremony
The grand square before the Citadel Zalboria thousands of people gathered to watch the opening ceremony. Tables that would be placed were stored away for more could come and in to see. As the people gathered this Trial of the Dragon originally was a small affair after the Great Doevassu War. Now it was this large event where commoners and nobles alike would come as it was in mid spring between the Spring Harvest, and before the Tournaments that were held throughout the land in spring and summer. Due to this it was over time showed both the opener for those tournaments but also became a big event. Originally set to three days to prepare for the Trial to make secret alliances, secret deals, and also a time to train. It soon became a festival to mask it from looking like one. The High King would soon appear on the grand stage set up for this event and other events as he as his court would sit in front of the people. The other clans were already within the grand feasting hall that could held a thousand people, this was more of a speech to allow commoners to begin the feast.
"This marks the tenth year of my reign and the 10th time to give you this speech for the Trial of the Dragon!! As every year before I will say this again, enjoy this great and grand feast, please be moderate! As well enjoy yourselves after a long days of labor!! Glory to Zalboria and let the feast begin!!"
Soon the people would cheer well the High King and his court left. They would then begin to disperse and form their tables to eat and begin to enjoy themselves. Games would begin, people would eat, children were run and play. As well couples would secret themselves away for love making and various liquors spread about to the men. Colors flashed drums beated, trumpets sounded, and spring instruments began playing. The capital was in a jubilation and thus left to their own devices.
Inside Feasting Hall
The various clans already within the feasting hall already took their places as the High King entered as all soon got up. The tables were set up that the first three main rows were of the Royal Family, members of Clan Lamont, and those of the court. Duke Charles Exion would be on the third row before the main long rows began being apart of the royal court as treasurer. Then those who of higher birth were in the front of the long rows then as their importance decreased the furthest the way they were. As the High soon got a goblet in his hand all the other lords would do so in turn, which they awaited his word.
"The commoners are pleased and now time for us to begin our own feast. Glory to the this feast before us!! Glory to the participates of the Trial who will show us a great show of marshal strength!! Glory to our land and prosperity!! Now let us eat!!"
The lords in turn would soon shout in reply, "Glory to the High King and his Family!! Glory to Zalboria!!"
Soon all would eat as the servants brought out the food for the various lords, liquors from all over Zalboria and outside would be served. Foods from all over vegetables from Exion, various meats of various animals, cabbage from the mountains, and fish from the Kollelkost ocean. They would be decorated in various ways to show both pleasing look and great taste, spices would also be on the variosu foods enhancing their tastes. The Feast began with people eating, enjoying themselves, and of course talking amongst themselves. With the hall nearly full many lords arrived even if their not participating as it was both free food but also to gain talks with 'friends'.
During this the High King would bellow and laugh with his advisers talking and some joking. He was officially now drunk and no stopping him. The Queen both beautiful for her age stand still next to her husband nibbling on food when she wanted it or saying no when she didn't. It was the Queen's duty to be near her husband and did so with grace others would envy. The children on the other hand were different the younger kids were simply playing with their food or talking to other kids they hardly ever see or never seen from the other lords. The Crown Prince Kylan was with the participating Apprentice Dragoons wanting to know what they do. One amongst them was of course Validar Bachelet who talked of great things of the branch of Bachelet but also joked how his cousin couldn't come to the feast.
"My cousin is a stupid fool, not knowing much I believe he was taken by the guard! Ha my crown prince I will show you a great show and those of the Paemir Region!!", Validar boasted, who looked like a proper Dragoon. Of course others looked at him with disdain he was just too stupid to see it.
During this the Princess Keiana Lamont sat in her chair also nibbling like her mother but paid no mind to what was going on. She was giving off her usual aura of too high for you but also any would easily stare at her and her beautiful dress. As she ate she soon hears someone come up to her and then says, "My little princess you have sure have grown into a beauty like your mother before you."
Keiana turned to his an older man with hair greying, he was of course her great uncle Koeff Lamont. She soon gave a genuine smile then replies, "Uncle Koeff! I didn't think you would make it here!! I thought you would now be too old to come such a distance!"
Of course ignorant on how truly close Exion lands were it was in fact a very short distance and taking a train that is within the Zaltium Region made it easy to come to the capital. He soon smiled then replies, "These old bones cannot break so easily, as well its a great reunion with family members of the Lamont Clan!"
Soon both would hug as she would get up off her seat to greet him. This also was of course true a large portion of the Lamont Clan came but not enough to be a true reunion more of the same of the central and southern regions; with a few from the west and north. None of the eastern Lamonts even came as they were not invited. As during this the Queen Eirica would notice Koeff then says, "Ah Uncle Koeff welcome I do hope the train ride was not a burden." She soon turns to her lord husband who didn't noticed as he was too drunk then says, "My love your uncle is here to greet you."
Turning to see his uncle he soon given an drunken like smile then says, "Ah Uncle Koeff your here! I do hope you had a good journey here!!"
The Trade King soon smiled then replies with a bow, "Your majesty tis was a good journey. I am here to enjoy the festivities and see the results of the Trial. As well to see such a great feast formed by Duke Charles Exion."
This was of course telling, Koeff gave a look of a kind olden uncle who had no ambitions at all. Nor cared for the throne, though in truth he was the opposite. He saw his nephew a idiot and a fool, a man who didn't know what to do when a bad situation came nor cared if someone killed him. Then of course he was easy to control, the various vipers in court all had their agendas, their favors, their own ideas. His own was better control the merchants along side Duke Charles Exion which was majority of the royal economy. As well having an idiot and foolish King was easy to control and not have eyes on him. He didn't care for the throne in truth he did have some care for his nieces and nephews yes. Though he sees young Kylan an naive boy who not only utterly trusted him but also had an foolish idealistic notion Dragoons were great knights who served the kingdom truthfully. As well a boy who wanted adventure, interesting enough his niece Keiana though acts like her mother secretly likely had a rebellious side she never lets go and her too wishing to see the world. Naivety and easily controlled, he rather the current crop of main branch royals stay in power for a long time for it would be easy for him and his two sons to control everything.
"That is good uncle, what prospects do you expect this year's trial will bring?", the High King asked.
"Ah there is many who came form major clans this time I seen. Though from I hear Duke Charles's own favored is one of the ones expected to win. A young Dragoon named Margrave James Gransela. He interests me as well Apprentice Dragooness Viven Choel from one of southern regions. As well Apprentice Dragoon Arvel Dunbar is one who has many bets. Mine is on of course one from the Exion region, Margrave Gransela, it is fitting I bet on my own.", Koeff soon said which the King understood.
With this the Princess soon smiled then says, "Excuse me I need some fresh air."
Soon she would get up and walk to see the various other lords part of her wishing instead to see the nearest balcony that was close to the hall. There she looked out, enjoying the night sky, soon hearing the merry making within the city by the commoners.
"If only...", Keiana soon said to herself.
At the Guard Jail
"If only I can get the hell out of here.", Asher soon muttered as he looked out from the jail bars of his cell.
The night sky could be seen and one could hear the feast in full swing out there. In his cell next to two others Professor Merlin and Igor sat in their own cells which bars between them. Of course then there was the guards in the room not to far on the table playing cards. Their uniforms unlike peacock and others out there were in fact the most sensible as well normal ones he seen. Even their helmets were simple in itself and looked like any soldier would wear in battle. They were smoking and drinking water, due to on duty not allowed to get drunk which itself made total sense as well. They didn't manhandle him and so far simply left them in their cells saying after the Trial they will figure out who they were. Of course this what has made Asher a bit on edge being stuck in jail was not on his plan nor was missing the Trial. Igor was actually the most calm of them with Professor Merlin being the one who made the most racket.
"I DEMAND A LAWYER!!", Merlin shouted once more.
"Can you quiet it down old man we are playing cards here!! As well what the hell is a lawyer anyways?", one of the guards said as he put a card down.
"For bloody sakes!! A Lawyer is a man of the law who defends his defendant from the other party!! It is to prove one is innocent before their guilty and-...", Merlin continued on his tangent which both Asher and the guards simply sighed at this.
Asher turned to Igor who was simply sitting there and looked to be in deep thought til he noticed Asher was looking at him.
"Well not my fault we didn't plan for this accordingly.", Igor shrugged which was true, with security here tight if he wasn't for the guard outside the gate being an idiot and easily convinced they wouldn't of been able to get in.
Not to mention running into that man who ever the hell he was sort of threw his entire plans into a ditch then burned into a crisp. At least the woman next to him looked nice but then that sword was so fast he didn't even see it.
'That woman was fast.. too fast not to mention she didn't even look Zalborian at all. Where the hell she came from and what kind of movement was that?' Asher thought but still he was stuck here for an indefinite amount of time. The time was ticking and he had to either bribe the guards or simply escape... somehow. As the time after hearing the beginning it wasn't long in fact only a few minutes even after Merlin calmed down soon he heard something. Getting up he wondered what was all the noise coming from other side of the main jail door, which even the guards sitting at their table heads perked. The other people in their own cells also sat wondering what was going on.
"Hey you can't go in there!!", someone shouted.
"Like hell we can you have no say to what we do!!", a familiar voice soon shouted back.
"But its by the High King's orders no trouble make to be let out til the Trial was over!!", one guard soon shouted.
"I don't give a damn what he says.", an older much strong male voice soon said then adds, "Now open this up or I will have it blown off."
"Wait wait!! You can't just do that!!", one of the guards soon said.
"You better if not...", the female voice soon says then adds, "Your majesty I would be allowed to cut off his manhood right?"
"Of course.", the voice replied.
The guards at the table soon put their hands over their own, a bit nervous they soon got their batons in hand thinking they might need it. Suddenly the door unlocked and it soon opened, anyone looking would see a lead guard in his peacock armor come though quickly opening the door to allow some people in. Asher, Merlin and Igor looked with intent which shown first a man to be in his twenties enter in fur cloak but also one could see a decorated spiked helmet on his head. Soon more of a similar guard came in their armor were extremely similar to what Asher and even Validar wore, except more fancy. Finally two people came in one of them Asher completely recognized.
"Kennocha?!!", Asher soon managed to say as he totally recognized his sister.
"Well well brother I see your in good health I do hope they didn't hurt you too bad.", his sister soon said as she walked over to his cell.
"Not really... but what are you doing here?!! Aren't you suppose to be apart of the Royal Dragoon Guard of the Mountain King?!", Asher soon said not realizing she was.
"So Dame Rorke this is the younger brother you talked about?", a man who looked to be in his late thirties soon asked.
Asher turned to the man who was had a Van Dyke beard on his face his hair was dirty blonde similar color to the High King Kylan except. This man before him looked regal, strong, a man who tower before others. He wore Paemir Region Armor similar to the head of the Cuillin-Rorke-Bachelet Clan wore. To his side one could see a royal Rapier on his belt and even an decorated 8 Shot Revolver which was used usually by those in the Paemir Region. On His head a helmet with a spike on it except it looked made partially out of gold and braids of red on the very top which signified one of high birth on the battlefield. Over his fur cloak one could see a Mountain and a Boar under it which gave away the Crest and banner of the Mountain King. To Asher he felt small compared to this man then putting two and two together then shouts, "Your the Mountain King?!!"
"Asher mind your manners!! Your speaking to Royalty!!", Kennocha soon chastised him.
The man soon chuckled a bit then replies, "Do not worry Dame Rorke, I prefer my own subjects to act normally when around me. I mean most would fear the sight of me but to see a reaction of this boy was interesting. As well I dislike that the reason I am here is in jail and not at the feast itself is troubling. Guards release Apprentice Dragoon Rorke and his companions at once. He is a participate to the Trial of the Dragon and I will not see such slap to my regions representative before me."
Soon the guards not wanting to mess with one of the biggest fears in the Central region nodded at once. One guard went to get his belongings well another went to unlock the cells.
"Uhh thank you your majesty... though I expected more...", Asher was saying trying to word it.
"More what boy?", the King said before him.
"Beard for some odd reason I thought you would have a beard thick and long.", Asher soon said which to Igor and Merlin soon looked to each other then thought of an epic fantasy from one of the other dimensions.
For a second everyone paused, not anyone can come and just make fun of a King's beard. Which Neville soon smiled and gave a hearty laugh.
"Hahahaha!! That is a good one boy! Most people would never dare have the balls to say such a thing. You know I am beginning to like you boy, coming to the capital and getting into a fight with the my greedy bastard of an uncle's lackey's lackey. You got courage, bravery, as well honor to defend those you were obligated to defend. Yes I can see why Dame Rorke spoke highly of you and said that the Azure Dragon was in good hands!! Now let us be off but first... you need to get cleaned up for this feast you will be coming with me.", the Mountain King said as Asher, Merlin and Igor soon came out of their cells.
"To where?", Asher soon asked if only half dumb.
"To piss off my elder brother bloody. I do want to see that smug off his face turn into terror; it brings joy to my eyes to see it.", Neville soon said as if he was being serious which Asher thought was a joke.
As he was getting out of the jail it soon dawned on him HE WAS serious. Not much to do only way out he simply followed the Mountain King's party which lead to get himself freshened up and cleaned. This was not going to be a good day.
Back at the Feasting Hall
As the feast was still in full swing, the various lords were having a good time. The Princess was still out at the balcony when her elder brother of 17 soon came walking up to her.
"Sister your missing the feast you know.", Kylan soon said with a smile as he finally got away from the others in the party.
"Of course I am brother, I want to avoid it for now.", Keiana soon said with a sad smile.
"Ah but there is a chance on of the lord's sons there would become your husband one day. Father would want you to at least know the various suitors you will have to deal with.", Kylan then said ash e came up to the ledge of the balcony.
"And you will become High King Kylan the Seventh in his name. King of Zaltium, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and High King of the Far Kingdom of Zalboria. I take that gives you fancy, eh? Though I still find it silly all those of the the Lamont Clan's High King has to be named Kylan.", Keiana soon said.
"Oh sister your saying I should rename myself? That hurts to the core of my heart!!", Kylan soon said with dramatic pause.
"Oh shut up Kylan, I do not need your over-dramatization.", Keiana soon said with her face turning back to the city before her.
"Hah, its nice to talk to you like this sister. Every time during parties you give off an impression of being untouchable. You need to learn to not do that you know, father is becoming not pleased. Also its beautiful right?", Kylan then said.
"Ya though I think looking over there in the various lands there is more to see. Don't you wish we could leave the Zaltium region and visit other places? Why do we have to keep to Exion and Zaltium Region where there is 19 other regions out there? Don't you want to see the people one day you may lead?", Keiana then said with a bit of excitement.
"Truth be told yes... I would actually I mean I am future High King I must know my subjects. As well listening to the stories of the Apprentice Dragoons gives me more excitement.", Kylan admitted as they stood there for a brief while before both walking back inside.
The feast was at full swing still as people were happy all was well til a commotion was heard. Everyone turned their faces and where it came from and it came from the main doorway.
"You cannot go in there!", One of the royal guard shouted from the other side.
"Hey stop this instant!!", another yelled.
"Your not invited to this place!! Now leave!!", a third and lead guard soon said.
"Get out of my way or I will blow this door off its hinges myself.", a manly voice soon said which Keiana didn't recognize.
Suddenly the door opened harshly as men came into the great feasting hall, they were glad in fur cloaks and some armor. As well they were all wearing similar helmets a soldier in the Paemir Region wore. The entire party soon went silent as soon the men, a woman, two older gentlemen in strange clothing, the man who was leading them, and finally the boy who she noticed earlier during the parade. No one moved nothing happened it all seemed it was deathly silent.
With Asher
When Asher walked with the Mountain King he was admitted a bit nervous not every day you walk with royalty. Especially Royalty who simply barging into another king's Palace. He noticed the Royal Guards were trying to prevent them from going, on the grounds of being not invited. Still the man before him gave off a deadly aura which any man would simply knew his threats were real. On hearing about blowing the door off its hinges that was when the royal guard just let him through. Once the Mountain King's Guard soon opened the door then entered into the feasting hall to the result well it was expected. A Deathly silence engulfed the hall and everyone looked both shocked, surprised, and at most baffled.
With the silence kept on going as they walked down to the main table then finally they came up to it. The Mountain King then did a small sigh of his breath then says, "What? Have you all gone mute on me after ten years? Or you all too shocked to see my face?"
The High King was first to react to this in his drunken somber he soon got up and yelled, "What is the meaning of this?!! You're not invited!! Nor given permission to visit the capital!! On what grounds have you come to the feast of the Trial of the Dragon, Mountain King!!"
Neville before Asher soon smirked at seeing his elder brother angry but also he could even tell he showed a bit of terror in his face.
"Obviously my dear brother I come for the feast, in no law states that one of royal blood and a monarch of a region cannot come in to the Feast of the Trial of the Dragon. Don't you ever read them? I mean reading is good for one's brain but I see this has simply fell through that fat ass of yours. Not to mention I have not one but TWO participates who are apart of the Trial of the Dragon from the Paemir Region. In fact doesn't it also mean I have all rights to be here?", Neville then added, which was utterly true. Nothing in the law states this or that in fact he SHOULD of been invited traditionally. No matter what the Mountain King won this one and Asher soon saw this. To him he just saw the High King sat down back on his chair then says, "Fine do as you will."
Asher was utterly shocked it worked and to him he sees not a normal monarch no he just saw what a real king would do and showed back bone. This alone was both to show the incompetence of the High King and give more show that Neville would make a better king. Soon the feast would continue but to Asher it was only the beginning of the long night.
