I decided to dump a bunch of old crap here that will likely become nothing and never really did become anything in the first place.
First, "The Myth of Taeris", an RPG idea I had that went nowhere some time ago. Note the links to the site still work. Nice. Notice also all the spam...
NON-PLAYER CHARACTER
Name: Skulmiri Vankish Khashmaron Etalde
Gender: Male
Race: Spider Nerukar
Age: 82
Birthplace: Khashmaron, Nerukar (Northern Expanse)
Personality: Skulmiri is very solitary, brooding, and dark; always keeping to himself when possible while not neglecting his duties as a Nerukar Etalde, or a Herald to the Spiderlord himself. Powerful, but calm and intelligent, he is prone to the use of subterfuge - be it the physical or mental sort. When brute force is necessary, his whim commands an army of Nerukar, and can easily hold ground for himself.
Current Level: Level ?
Class:
- Primary: Dark Elemental
- Secondary: Warrior
- Subclass: Soulstealer
Biography:
Born one of many hundreds of small, insignificant spiderlings, Skulmiri roamed aimlessly from the maternal nesting grounds in Khashmaron and out into the wild. Among the few of those many children to prove superior and survive, he would quickly grow into a more sizable Spider Warrior. However, like most of the Nerukar, he lived isolated for years - without even a name - and trained himself in his natural abilities.
Becoming fully mature, he ventured his way back out of the icy tombs of the Northern Expanse, deep into the Spider Kingdom of Nerukar, and eventually again to his original birthplace of Khashmaron. There, having proven himself, he was given the name of Skulmiri Vankish, the surname being that of his paternal line.
Shortly, his welcoming would be fulfilled
(It ends there)

THE RULES

I. Fundamentals
The Fundamentals include rules that are important in all aspects of the game.
a. The Administration (aka, Game Masters) are the tribunal authority of the Myth of Taeris RPG. Any Game Master is able to take lead in a situation and be the deciding factor in episodes of roleplay. If you feel you are being treated unfairly by any one Game Master, you may appeal to one of the others for a final decision. Excessive arguing with an administrator can lead to a banning from the site. Respect the administration.
b. Keep cursing to a limit. While acceptable, refrain from excessive usage of epithets. This refers to both IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) discussion.
c. Do not harass other players unnecessarily. Doing so may lead to you to being banned.
d. Avoid double posting, or posting twice consecutively in the same thread. If you need to edit something you posted, use the modify button - it's what it's there for. This rule may be ignored when necessary, such as logging information in player profiles or certain OOC areas.
e. If you are in a roleplay on the forums, try to avoid modifying your posts after another player (or especially Game Master) has already replied. Fixing spelling errors is one thing, but not try to change the actions committed in the post itself.
f. If you have any questions, post them in the Support board. Guests may post in this area.
II. Starting Out
a. Be sure to read over all important information in the Rules and Background Information section. As well as info on the statistics system and other relevant data, checking up on the history of the world of Taeris will help you in your roleplaying.
b. Create and post a character profile on the Profiles board. Take into account your character name, race, class, and other important information.
III. Gameplay
Gameplay is done either through roleplay on one of the message boards or in AOL Instant Messenger Chat. The following rules cover the various gameplay elements.
a. When you enter the world of Taeris, after having chosen a starting location, you are a solitary character. As you progress, you may gain NPC (Non-Player Character) allies, or even group up with other active player characters. NPCs are always weaker than your main character and never able to use spells or abilities that are above your current level.
b. Levels are gained every 1000 (?) Experience Points (EXP). A Game Master will decide how many EXP you get from completing a quest, fighting a battle, or whatever else.
c. Quests are given by NPCs in cities and other locations. Quests and new locations will become listed as they are available.
d. If your character dies, and you are unable to be revived by another character, you will lose all experience gained for that level and be charged a sum of gold in order to be resurrected in the nearest friendly city.
