Because Masturbation still isn't an option. ;D
So I wanted to do an MSV-type series for future RPs, like a GP-MSV I guess.
Anyways suggestions I'm taking from each person are any two of the following:
- Pick three OYW mobile suits for me to make variants of, with the variant suggestion if you have any. Not really specifics just like general concepts like "Aqua GM Improved Test Type" or "Gelgoog Marine w/ Cannon Pack" or "Gouf Beam Weapon Test Type". Incidently I guess those are my own suggestions for myself now? A better Aqua GM, a Gouf with beam weapons and a Gelgoog Marine that trades some speed for a cannon. >.<
Try to make this category more classic MSV than the others though if possible @_@
- Pick three OYW mobile suits who never reached production and/or variant stages for whatever reasonsand I'll make a mass-produced type and/or variant of it (include suggestions on variants if you have any). These would be machines like the High Mobility Test Type (YMS-08) that lost out to the Gouf, the Efreet that lost out to the Dom, the Aqua Experiment, the MS-11/"Zaku III" concept that the Rick Dom usurped, and the Guncannon and Guntank series who had their fire-support roles filled by the GM Cannon when it came to mass production machines. They could also just be machines like the Acguy who for whatever reason never had a variant or upgraded version of them made (like... they get no love from mecha designers)
Ex: Gyan Desert Type (replacement for the Gelgoog Desert in an alternate scenario where the Gyan is chosen for Zeon's next suit); Gundam [E]-type (space equivalent of the [G] Gundam, the idea is the Federation keeps trying to at least make Gundams in limited production lots versus making only GMs as a counter to all the high powered suits like Goufs and Gelgoogs that Zeon starts to pop out); "Zaku Final Production Type"/"Zaku III Mass Production Type" (like a simplified version of the R-3 dumbed down for the average pilot; it'd still have beam weapons but otherwise probably be more in line with the Zaku F2 and FZ than the R-series)
- Pick three late war MS that never got their family tree properly developed, y'know the ones that seem to be upgrades or replacements but then for whatever reason things happen that lead to them fading into obscurity after a short production run or just a prototype or two (Zeon's late war series of refitted UMP suits, or their next-generation mobile suits like the Act Zaku, Gelgoog and Galbaldy for example, or the EFF's late war projects like the Command series GMs, the rest of the specialized family like the GM D-type, as well as projects that were canceled due to the war ending like the Guncannon MPT and Guncannon II, Guntank II, full armor Gundams, RX-78 units 7 & 8, and the RX-80 and RX-81) and I'll come up with developments of them (like how the Zaku and GM family trees are fully developed) that fill the gap between the 0080-0083 years (suggestions again are welcome just try to be vague if at all possible).
Ex: Galbaldy B & C types (Galbaldy with a mixture of Gyan Hi-Mo & Cannon and Gelgoog Hi-Mo & Cannon features), Guncannon II MPT (Guncannon MPT with the beam cannon of the Guncannon II essentially), and RX-81 Mass Production Type (basically the thing was described in MSV as if the Gundam had been redesigned to take peace-time precision and quality into account to make the thing the ultimate incarnation of the RX-78, so the mass produced version would likely be the best you could get out of a regular GM frame using late OYW tech - though it wouldn't surprise me if the things weren't based on the newer Alex-type frames that apparently were improved over the original Gundam/GM.)
- Pick three existing mobile suits or mobile suit variants, and I'll make post-war/war-continued upgrades that fall into the 0080-0083 (or if I must up to the 0084-0088) era category. These can either be late-war refits to improve general performance (UMP upgrades for example would fall under this, so would ), overhauls incorporating newer technology into older suits (like how the Zaku and Dom-types Zeon the remnants scattered across Africa use in ZZ can equip beam weapons, or how the GM Kais in IGLOO can equip beam rifles, and also the way the GM and Gundam [G] seem to get late-series upgrades to allow them to use beam rifles when they'd previously been restricted to machine guns), or a next era upgrade to a suit (like a ReGelg or GM II/III for example)
Ex: Gouf Kai (an MS-07B Gouf refitted in a similar manner to how a MS-06F is refitted into a MS-06FZ), Guncannon Heavyarms Beam Weapon Test Type (a Guncannon Heavy Arms refitted with the beam cannons from the GM Cannon II and upgraded to post-war standards), GM Command High-Mobility (A GM Command or Command Space Type modified the same way the TTT GM Kai is to bring it up to spec with the GM II in terms of cockpit, electronics, generator, beam rifle, etc)
- Pick three OYW support units and I'll make variants of them. For the most part this may sound odd, but what I mean is something like modifications to better suit other combat roles.
I'Examples: a sealance converted into a patrol/torpedo boat with externally mounted torpedos (this one I got from a book called "vanishing machines" actually so does it really count as mine?), making a seemingly useless machine a threat to regular surface ships like the EFF still relied on a lot; a Mongoose designed for anti-tank bombing with the cannon replaced by the type of wire-guided missiles and rocket pods a helicopter usually carries, or alternately replaced by a machine cannon or vulcan for ground strafing; a Type 61 converted in a heavy APC, made by replacing the usual turret with one mounting lighter armament and removing the 150mm cannon ammo to fit an infantry squad in the back.
- Pick three OYW support units, and this time I'll come up with 0080-0083 era upgrades for them (same thing as with the MS). Think C-88 Medea or the Jukon refits I guess, though the C-88 was more just a variant than a refit.
Ex: Core Booster II Improved Armaments Plan (in a case where the war is continuing, why not give the mass produced version the same MPCs?); Dopp Kai (a redesigned Dopp, taking lessons learned from captured earthnoid aircraft designs and wartime experience);
- Pick three OYW support units (again? I know.) and I'll come up with an equivalent for the other side. However realize it won't just be a simple clone of it, it will merely fill the same role or be a close approximation in most cases. The best canon example of this I can think of is the Dragonfly and the Commu, which were both small liason planes that filled the exact same role for both sides.
Ex. Zeon jet cargo plane (Medea proxy, something of this sort that looks like a hybrid Gaw/Fat Uncle/Medea shows up in the 0079 manga ferrying Garmas troops to the staging ground for their assault on White Base); Weldea (I think I've researched this one enough and gotten requests for it enough when I haven't, its an oversize Medea that takes on the role of the Gaw as an atmospheric assault carrier);
- Pick three real world military units (tanks, planes, warships, whatever as long as they aren't boring as sin cargo vehicles or something) and I'll make them into a UC-ized version for the faction you choose. It probably won't even be remotely similar if its for like say... Zeon, especially if its a boat or a plane. But then again I have to keep a certain aesthetic going.
Ex: Sd.Kfz 251/1 as a Zeon Halftrack APC; M113 as a Zeon APC; M60 as a EFF auxiliary Main Battle Tank
- Sort of the fun-fun bonus category. Pick any three support units from another fictional setting that would lend themselves to Gundam (i.e. they don't exceed the tech limit or go outside that design aesthetic I mentioned) and I'll make them for the respective factions you choose for them. Again like the real world support units they can be pretty much anything so long as it isn't something crazy like a power armor or a mech/walker, etc. Also included in this is support units from other Gundam series, like the ones from Wing, SEED, 00, X, etc
Ex. the M12 Warthog from Halo redesigned as a Zeon Jeep; The Comanchero from Macross as an EFF remake of the old Soviet Hind; the Linear Artillery piece from SEED as an EFF self-propelled howitzer.
