Valhedge Citadel City
History:
Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet is more of a new Clan in terms of not one of the original noble families to help began the Far kingdom of Zalboria. Created in the tides of the Civil War that brew six generations ago the Clan was created with a union of three marriages. Political and desperate it formed a coalition of the Paemir Region which is the Mountainous highlands to the farthest east of the Capital Region Zaltium. Rich in minerals and climate similar to snow in winter and a normal weather in summer. The three biggest Clans of the region united with joining in rebellion under the Banner of the Crimson Flag the Usurper Clan Lamont. With this the former small towns that were split were soon slowly abandoned at wars end and given the Title Rank of Margrave. In the years that transpired the once small group soon became a stronger force to reckon with. Building a military might being on the border when the fall of the Lalmir Region to the Central Empire of Baladorax which was on the other side of the Mountain. The King of Lalmir was slain and refugees came pouring in from the fall of their nation. Worry that the Baladorians would eventually attempt to invade they began building up its force to what it is known today. Over time the tension between the Paemir Region and the Empire continue to grow til one day the the war would break out. On the day of the invasion the Mountain King of Paemir was called on in the defense of the land which of course he instead fled like a coward, leaving Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet to mount a defense to the land. For Twelve days Cuillinnn-Rorke-Bachelet's regional capital withstood the siege til it would eventually fell to the Empire.
During this time the disgrace of the Cuillinn portion of the Clan who were in charge of the defense lead to the leadership to be killed in action but leave a large void. A void that would be filled by Jones Rorke of the Rorke branch of the Clan. Eventually by wars end the final battle would be fought in the Highlands of the Paemir Region under at the time High King Kylan IV, The Great. The Clan would be restored and the old regional capital was ruined as a result. With Paemilidum gone the capital would be moved from the border of the region to more the center to be precise where the final battle took place. A new city was formed and was called Valhedge Citadel City, unlike the previous regional capital city which was on the highlands and easily surrounded the new one was build with a forest near it, and up against a mountain. Heavier fortifications as well cannons were placed all along the city walls it was said to be closer to an old Imperial Era Fortress then city.
Years pass as the Clans of the Paemir Region would always be in ready for war at anytime. Unlike other Clans exception of Kasorymor they were on the borders of a vast superior Empire which seemed easily see payback for the previous war lost. In fact tensions were mounting for many decades between the Rorke Branch and the Empire. But due to one fateful day, it all changed the day when High King Kylan V, the Wise died so did the Rorke's main branch and its heirs. What was called the Fafian Rebellion which the clans in the north east attempted a coup to overthrow Royal Clan Lamont from power. It is unknown what occurred but the Fafian Region was thrown into a small short lived conflict, at this time there was a new Mountain King Neville Lamont who was only in his mid twenties. Unlike his older brother he was militaristic, honorably, but more importantly wanted revenge at the death of his father.
He would lead a vanguard of Paemir Royal Forces into Fafian in the initial Rebellion managing to defeat their army on the field with an army only ¼ the size of their own. The Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet Clan also too wanted vengeance and joined with his army and helped eventually secure most of the region forcing them into a three week long siege. Once relief from the other regions arrived the Fafian Clans had no choice but to surrender. Stripped of their lands and their heads publicly executed by beheading in the Main Square of the National Capital of Zaltium. The Clan would slowly exit out of much of the court politics as the High King saw his younger brother a threat to his power base.
Much Time has passed with a new generation of warriors within the clan emerging, the lead Dragoon of the family Achmetha Rorke had announced his retirement his old war wounds which he gained due to a betrayal caused problems with him using the Clan's prized possession the Azure Dragon. As time of peace comes on the drums of war begin to sound once more.
Land:
The Paemir Region is a unique region itself unlike the central lands it has both in higher elevation but its own weather is more harsher. During Winter snows drop and the temperature goes as low as 10 degrees at the most coldest part of winter. Though During Spring and summer the temperature goes all the way up to 70 or 80 degrees. It has highlands for the most part though large parts also heavily forested rich with wildlife. Due to this towns tend to be build in the highlands near forests to allow hunting in those regions. As well various major points within the Region leads to its importance. The first is the Ruins of Paemilidum, though still in the center of crossroads its now more of a trading hub for merchants moving from region to region.
The next major point was the seat of the most powerful clan of Paemir at Valhedge Citadel City. There along the southern mountains tip is where it is located, with it is mostly surrounded by forest not allowing an large army to have easier time to take the city if they attempted to. The city is based on being able to withstand a year long siege, internal gardens, its own water supply from the southern mountains also help keep it well. As well at the very top the main Three Castles which houses the three branches of the Clan is situated.
The next important part is that of the Regional Capital which is located closer to Mount Paemir. Built into the mountain the Fortress City of Ostborough where the Mountain King Neville Lamont's throne resides. Unlike many of his brethren the Mountain King in fact has created his own private army the Jäger Regiment. They train like the clans of the region and consider themselves soldiers who both honorable but would do anything what their ordered. In recent times these Jäger's would raid into Baladoraxian land within the Lalmir Region. Some say this may one day cause an international crisis if they didn't hid their identities.
The next two regions were that the Mountain Pass Fort of Fort Fogholt. It has both walls and a large tower in the middle its sole purpose was to defend the mountain pass and patrol along the border. Its defenses have various trenches and other assortments to allow a way for the Paemir Royal Forces to hold for a few days til relief arrived. The Second was the largest town to the west of Wyvernmill, like the trading hub of the Ruins of Paemilidum it is one of the main regions where many of the clans would have their food stockpiles as well the only place where windmills roamed the Highlands. Somewhat hilly it is the main supplier of food during the spring and summer within the Paemir Region that is within well the rest is imported from the rich farmlands of the central regions.
