Anyways, I've been sitting on Bittletime, and really nothing is getting done with any RPG, aside from AUC, but unfortunately that RPG does not interest me, and it looks like no one else can find the time to actually get another RPG up and running for more than what would seem like a month, as evident by the last RPG Sarah did (Revival of Zeon I think). To top that, Galactic Gods is never going to get off the ground, its reached that point where things just stop getting done.
That being said, I want to find, and if I can't find anything, I want to create a new RP/RPG game that will blend together popular aspects, offering a challenge, excitement, and entertainment to all players. That being said, I'm not sure what I want entirely, from Sci Fi, to modern day, to fantasy, with aspects of player interaction, political debates and action, along with strategic and tactical battles and warfare. I did an RP where players took the part of World Leaders, Military Officers, Soldiers, and even terrorists and rebels in a real world rp set in 2020 with the goal of attaining world control by any means necessary, whether it was assassinating another leader, forming an alliance with another nation, or invading a country that stands against you. Also a decent and original zombie idea has come to mind, a mix between tactical, strategic, and survival elements, give it a blend of flavor and a lot of appeal to a player base.
Another idea I have is something...different entirely, its an RP(G) that puts an emphasis on crazy and insane, where players take up the role of an evil mastermind, with your goal to spread chaos and destruction, perform evil deeds, build your evil lair and eventually combat other evil masterminds along with the forces of good. But its just an idea really, not an easy one create at that.
So I'm wondering what anyone here has to say, your opinions, and input. I'd hope to find other members with a similar interest, but any little bit of input helps.

Not sure what input I can put that would be helpful, but this thread looked so lonely. ;p
I'd have to see some ideas with some framework laid down to see if I was really interested. The only thing I feel like I can really add is that I'm working on a RPG. Unlike the other RPGs, I'm going to include dice rolls in the combat system and make it much smaller scale game then AUC. Yes, I feel this may take some of the RP out and put more Game in, but at this point... people can be quite picky about people taking damage and the moves they make.
Things like people stalling their posts annoyed the crap out of me. The larger faction sizes and fleets help caused this. Delay posts to buy yourself more time to buy units next week. Since I'm going to make the game small scale, you'll only be focus on your one and ONLY group. Thus there's no point in slowing your posts, though I wouldn't be surprised at someone slowing or not posting once they start losing a battle.
Okay, I haven't even touched up about what the RPG is that I'm trying to make. Like 90% of the things on here, its based around Mech pilots. Each player gets to play a mercenary. Not even a group to start. There's going to be three corporations handing out jobs (think of Loki's Zeon RP's missions). Hell, like I suggested to someone during that time, you can make the missions have an overall story arc. Eventually your player progress and you can attain wingmen (that you don't have to pay to come with you) and even a ship or two.
Generally, I want 6 suits and 1-2 ships to be considered BIG for the game. Maxed out at 9 suits, 3 ships because I imagine the dice rolls and who's attackin who, usin what, would get hectic and take a while to figure out. (Though I've made a spreadsheet to cut down the time on this, so people can post and I can do the rolls and such for them)
I would still love to see interaction between players, teaming up, building rivalries, etc. General RPing. Perhaps coming up with clever missions for more RPing.
One other benefit from having the combat decided by rolls and system, is we can finally add NPC pilot growth. If they survive and participate in battle, you can give them exp to gain level/skillpoints to make them better.
Eheheh, I felt like I typed this all out in a bit of rant and not really organized. Like scatter shot my thoughts onto a post. Sorry, if this isn't useful to ya or if not interested in any of this xD
Edit: Oh and the reason I went to adding dice rolls and going small scale, is to try to limit people arguing about things going on in the roleplay and balance issues. Everyone will start off on the same foot, the only balance issues is the system which won't really have loopholes, but will probably have some sort of stacking issues.
Ex: Stacking Dodge is more effective then stacking Armor by a lot (cost wise). OR Weapons are scaling too fast for Armor to keep up OR Stacking Armor, though more expensive then Dodge, doesn't have an effective enough counter. ETC

Hey Pig, remember that idea we had floating around for a while ? The Star Wars RP ? The one where Vader and Starkiller assassinate the Emperor, then the Grand Moffs create a break away faction from Emperor Vader's government, and reactivate the droid army to serve as their troops, and, all the while, the rebellion sprouts early ? I think the time has come !

I wouldn't mind a space opera-y RP... though I'm not too sure I'd want to do actual Star Wars.
Lucas' butchering of things long-established in the Expanded Universe in the prequels and the Clone Wars series kind of turned me off; ex. Death Watch were the rivals of the supercommandos that Jango more-or-less killed off, not some kind of Neo-Super Commando group that wore lookalikes of his armor.
Also the way IG assassins are some ubiquitous mook droid now instead of a one-time experiment gone wrong resulting in a walking arsenal of badassitude.
But ranting aside, space opera FTW. Especially if it focuses as much on the politics as it does the conflict.
I feel like all the past few RPs have just been "brief saber rattling monologue by both parties, pointless week-long (IRL) battle where hundreds of unnamed NPCs die without any consequences addressed or anything getting resolved, rinse, repeat."
*Edit: 2020? You mean like as in Cyberpunk? Heck, even just "near-future" works.

Well, it's not like the man could come into our RP and make us change the story...right ?

The only problem i found with my 2020 site was my fault, it became poorly regulated and the staff were a mix of a tyrant and a wimp, especially since i would be away for long periods of time. Would i ever be interested in doing it again? Sure, it was fun, but i would definitely change a few things.
However, i'm pretty much down for jumping into any Rp or RPG at this point, i'd just kind of like to do it on another site where i'm not paranoid that the rp will shut down when everyone disappears at the same time.

Well jump into the AUC RP then. You want to do something then do something, don't sit around and bitch, it might not be your cup of tea but at least you're doing something. make the best of things. and so far it's been chugging along just fine.

I will never join AUC, I created this not just to post ideas, but to discuss different ones as well, along wi getting feedback on existing ones. Tome AUC is garbage, I've read several posts, and I am unimpressed with it all, and there is no nice way to put how I truly feel about it, so i won't drag that up. I am interested in creativity, and that is why I like to post ideas here, I do not wish to be held down by the shackles that is AUC. Along with the fact that I have asked several members about it, and they've told me not to waste my time even looking into the boards, so I stand by that as well.
I enjoy the political aspects of rp's, something I feel is underdone in todays modern ones. It offers a challenge to gameplay, and makes players think before they act.
