Cave of the LostAsher and Jorged moved through the small cave pass with a few torches, looking around the caves were quite large and wondered how the hell no one noticed them before. "Well, so that explains a lot.", Asher soon stated as a few men with Jorge had old P872s on their shoulders. Jorge was leading them and soon turns to Asher and smiles, "Ya, when I first saw this place I was utterly shocked as well. This way... the deeper we go the closer we get to the resistance base camp." Asher soon nods as they moved deeper into the cave the longer, they go in the more it felt they were in a different world. Asher looked at the walls which looked oldest he ever seen and some of it he began to look something metal but shrugs it off as they moved deeper. Jorge continued to lead them in until they came up to what looked like a man made bridge, not even old but been here for a few years. "Careful, though its quite sturdy it is a long drop down.", Jorge soon pointed out as Asher took a look down but didn't see anything below that told him how deep it is. "Well, I guess you can't make it too easy huh?", Asher commented on as he continued to follow Jorge through towards the other side of the cliff. "Well we don't know how the Securitate would move so we split most of everyone up across all over and made this zone our main base camp.", Jorge replied as he held on the rope of the bridge with both sides as they crossed. Once done Asher gave a bit of relief on his face and soon adds, "Let us continue?" The group would continued deeper, as they climbed out rocks which were worked on for them to move. The Torches continued to burn though the longer they went down the more it felt colder, almost if they were entering hell itself. What seemed like hours were in fact only barely twenty minutes until they dropped Asher's face only perked up at what he saw. "What the actual fuck is that?!", Asher soon pointed at what seemed like a ruins of a ship, so ancient he never seen before. "Its an ruin of some sort... originally I have archeologist to study here but with what happened we converted the site into a camp. Food, and even an underwater lake is not far from here. Welcome to the Camp Lost.", Jorge soon welcomed Asher. Before them were torches lighting at different parts around the ruins of the ancient ship or whatever it was as there were at least a few hundred men scattered about in makeshift tents and other crates all over. As they continued into the camp Asher noticed various cookware, things for clothing, alcohol could be smelled but also many old weapons. It seemed they stored as much of the old weapons here as they could possibly to act as a cash of weapons when they required it. They would soon be lead into the largest tent and the lantern burning above it with an older man who wore a beard. Asher recognized the face and soon stopped unable to believe it. "Old man your alive.", Asher soon stated as the man was missing an arm but wore an old Paemir uniform. "Well now... so the boy is fully grown now. It has been many years since I was Captain of the City watch of Valhedge.", the old man soon stated with a smile. "Captain Vertz... I thought you died along with the entire city.", Asher then pointed out giving him an odd hug for a moment. "Ha! I thought so too but I only lost an eye and an arm in the process. Never the less now your here I believe the resistance meeting should begin.", the old man stated bringing out an old map of Paemir as he put various pieces on the table before them. "No one else coming?", Asher soon asked as he noticed no one else entered the tent which made Asher wonder. Jorge was the one to answer with, "Nope... us three is what is left of the resistance leadership. With the rest either dead or soon to be dead." That alone didn't sound well to Asher's ears that meant the Council have managed to effectively win now. Asher soon solemnly nodded as they looked at the map together. "Our biggest issue right now is the resistance has been split up for so long our communication is practically non existent, the Securitate has managed to crack down in most towns causing us to lose eyes within the towns within all of Paemir. To make matters worse then have been gaining much more equipment then us as well been taking most food supplies to the local populous. Not to mention with the change of the laws and the pass of the new Accord that goes in effect next week the Securitate may now cease all noble lands and enforce the end of the aristocracy within Paemir.", Captain Vertz soon stated pointing out where they locations that are known of resistance cells and were not. "Also with the new inspection by one of the representatives of the court coming soon right now they are completely on edge.", Jorge then added which Asher soon nodded. "In short we are outnumbered, out supplied, and soon we will soon lose any sort of edge against the Council's tyrannical rule.", Asher then pointed out. Vertz soon chuckles, "That is right, ever since most of the nobles that were given the offices by the King have died in mysterious circumstances there is only one single noble on the Council. The rest are not even Paemiran nor Noble." "Ah... so the radical commoners that I been hearing about? The what were their names?", Jorge soon asked which Asher replies, "The People's Movement. A radical group that has been spreading in both Paemir and Raoecia for the last few decades. They believe in truly equality by utter extermination of any of the Blue Bloods as they call us. They been gaining ground in Raoeica recently and even considered a large threat to the United Principality. So your saying this entire movement has been controlling the council for a last few years? Why has the crown not even moved against them?", Asher then asked which was a genuine question. "That is the issue, corruption has been rampant within the court and the King himself is been growing weaker by the day I hear. A Weak King only leads to a weaken Kingdom, as well rumors coming from Lalmir as the Governor Richardin has been building up a military force so large that it would easily defeat Paemir like its nothing now.", Vertz soon finished which itself was making the entire point bleak. "So as the Council continues to weaken us, the King does nothing but sit on his ass, the other clans are enriching themselves for their own gain and benefit, all the while the real threat the actual threat to the entire nation is ignored because two siblings could see eye to eye and view each other as threats. So anything at all even going good around here?", Asher then asked which silence was their reply which made the situation a bit worse. "So, how are we going to fix this now?", Jorge then asked which Asher soon says, "If we could solve the equipment problem and get enough people who already hate the council on our side might stand a chance?" For a moment looking Asher continued to look at the map as Vertz soon got a bottle out of Whiskey and served himself to the bottle as Jorge and Vertz discussed longer as Asher continued to look at the map then had an idea. "Say you stated a representative of the Crown is suppose to arrive in a few days for inspection correct?", Asher soon asked as he look at the map closer. "Yes but not like they will care, they never once cared about Paemir in their entire lives. To them we are nothing but numbers for the taxes to be collected. Why?". Vertz asked as he continueto drink his whiskey. Asher looked at the route they would likely take and the stops they would do. Then soon smiles, "Well I think I found a way to get us some equipment." _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Small City of PaeThe small city was the center of commerce ever since the the destruction of the original Capital of Paemir 71 years ago, only a few dozen miles away from the ruins of the Ruins of Vaelmir it was its center and considered one of the last remaining along with the Magnes Port. Being centered of the entire region it was a strongly controlled zone by the Securitate loyalist. Because of this the city would have more laxing in terms how people are treated. Without knowing a convoy of vehicles were coming in which itself was rare. After all most of Paemir was still relied on horse back and carriages compared to the Empire. It showed wealth but one vehicle had a symbol which would turn people's heads if they noticed. After all it was not usual to see the Royal seal of the boar on it, or expected a red head woman of only 19 to come out of the car. "Ah I didn't know that they representative was you, your royal highness", one of the men in suits soon stated as he bowed. "Ah Lord Gauvergan, I see your quite still alive and kicking.", Keiana soon stated as the middle aged man soon bowed and kissed Keiana's signal. "Ah everyday you look as beautiful as your mother before, may the Great White One rest her soul. This way, not the entire council could make it but recently we been.. having issues with terrorist.", Lord Gauvergan soon stated as he lead her into a private mansion of the small city. Keiana listened intently wondering what was truth and what was a lie as she entered the Mansion. In fact the second time she been to Paemir but back in the day she was only a child. The areas they passed through looked recovered enough from the incident several years ago and seemed all going well. Still she was here on business but also another reason only wondering if a all it would even be possible. Never the less the Council President was quite generous as he lead her around trying to show the best courtesy as he could. Of course she was not ignorant completely she heard many foul rumors of this man and others of the Council, some great and some not so great. Being the sole Noble on the Provisional Council after many unforeseen deaths of the others over the course of a few years. At least what she has seen it all looked like it was coming along great but what is still strange on her way noticing many patrols around, possibly due to her annual inspection or because of something else? She would soon be lead to a private room told of her an ball would take place in her honor and that the next few days the inspection would occur. Keiana did notice something odd though, the man himself seemed to be nervous or something. Strange as it would be, because of his expectation was someone else perhaps? She would soon be left on her own devices unknown what was going to occur within the next few days. Later that night"So they plan to have a ball I see.", Asher soon stated taking out a a pair of binoculars as he spied on the mansion which had many vehicles and carriages for those of high ranking Securitate officials. "You know it will be suicide going in, too many eyes and I wouldn't be able to help.", Jorge stated from below as Asher continued to look onward. "That is the one benefit we got here, they know your face but they don't know mine. Its easy enough I go through the roof over there and then take out a servant. My goal is to find where the representative is at then meet with them. Simple... I think.", Asher soon ended it as he passed his Binoculars to Jorge. "And if they catch you?", Jorge then asked. "Then you will know because you will hear a fire fight spark. That also be up to you to get us a ride out and then escape.", Asher then pointed out like it was all alright. "Great... some plan you got there.", Jorge replied with a shrug. "Alright keep an eye out I am heading over.", Asher then stated as he began to climb the roof and make his way toward the mansion. Moving quietly he moved in the shadows keeping low when a patrol passed by. As he moved he soon managed to sneak into an area where many servants were. He would soon go into the shadow as one servant passed by with a empty tray only for Asher to quickly grab the man and put him into a chock hold. As the man soon lost his consciences he quickly changed the cloths of the man into the servants clothing. Once done he would pick up the tray and walked toward the kitchen. Once there he acted like any other servants as they were making more food and carrying out glasses of wine out towards the ball which was inside the mansion. Asher soon took in all what he was seeing and began to see faces he burned into his brain for many years, a few council members were all here as well other supporters of the Provisional Council. To make matters worse he noticed the food which was being wasted as much of Paemir who didn't agree with the Council were Starving. Even though Gransela has given much to Paemir to support it if only they knew large portion of their shipment were taken away after it exchanged hands. As he moved through with his sheer luck would have it no one noticed him as he went silent off to the side wondering which was the representative. Asher continued to walk and serve until he soon overheard something that interested him greatly, "So the Princess is here, it won't cause too much trouble?" "It might after all if she learns of what has been going on here it might anger the Crown." "Do not worry she will not find out especially with the bribes we can do." "Never the less its quite risky and if the resistance hears wind of it they might use it against us." "They will not, security is tight and no one within this city is our enemy. Very soon everything will go as Lord Gervergan says as well our benefactor as well." "Figures... what of the word in Raoecia anyways?" "The so called coalition that has kept the Nobility in power there is waning from I hear, many troublesome Prince's are being too noisy. No matter.." Asher heard enough as he continued by trying to not give himself away as he learned something quite interesting. The one sticking point who was the Representative which made him almost feel something. Old memories he vaguely remember but no matter he had a job to do and now he had to figure out where would be her room here. Moving away from the ball for a second he felt a chill if someone was watching quickly turned his head and saw nothing. He didn't know but it felt something was here and was watching him. Never the less he moved to where he could find information on where the Princess is staying at. ____________________________________ For Keiana the day was dragging as she kept up her proper face on talking with all those at the ball. She was continuing to look around to see if she saw him, with he now being of age it was proper for all the lords of Paemir to attend to this? Alas all she saw mostly were not even nobles but rich business men both from Paemir it seemed and from other parts of Zalboria. It looked odd that she and her entourage were the only nobles here as well Lord Gervangen. As she danced, drank fine wine and noticed some of the brand were from Gransela it must of been quite expensive. Even as she continued to mingle she tried to keep up on how people reacted and noticed something very off about everyone at this ball. It was almost nervousness she felt before like they were not liking she was the one sent to inspect Paemir. As she continued to look around she felt a presence that was vaguely familiar as she turned to look she saw a servant turning their head back and out of the ball room. She didn't recognize the face but the hair looked eerily familiar. The ball would continue to drag on as soon she was finally allowed to take her leave she began heading toward her room. As she moved promptly with her escort now leaving to do their duty she soon opened the door to enter. She turned on a switch for a light switch which was installed into this mansion which showed the small "city" more like a large town modernization. As she turned it on she was greeted with a man with a servant's clothing looking through papers that belonged to her. She soon gasped which the man soon says, "Interesting paperwork you got here. It seems everything has been quite uneventful.. Princess Keiana Lamont." Keiana stood still with her eyes narrowed at the man who continued to look familiar but didn't recognize him. She was not sure if he would have a weapon if she screamed out for help would she be dead even before they come? No she will put a brave face and handle this on her own, she had to even if it meant life and death. "Usually when someone has an audience with that of royal they tend to take it to official channels. As well they do not come into their room at the dead of night to talk either.", Keiana soon stated as she looked at the man. The man put down the paper work as he soon comments, "This is true, alas this is not the time and place to do such a thing. After all this entire sham is getting quite old don't you think?" The man's stares at her made her wonder who could have such a cold stare, like a predator who is seeking out how to kill its prey. She only stared back as she was trying to figure out who this man was and why he would want to speak with her. "So I wonder who you are then? You can't be from those of the Council because they would been at the ball. You wear the cloths of a servant but you carry yourself a bit higher then one. What are you a gentleman criminal or perhaps a terrorist that I hear that has been plaguing Paemir as of late?", Keiana responded as she stood still. Asher soon got up from his spot with his head soon nodding a second then he soon gives a bow, "Ah your correct on the assumption of not being apart of the Council, though I wouldn't call myself a criminal nor a terrorist. I am a rebel but not the in the wrong. For my rudeness I should of introduce myself, I am Viscount Asher Rorke, a among one of the leaders of the Paemir Highland Army also known as the Resistance." That name alone made Keiana completely stop in her tracks when she heard the name, a name she remember from so long ago yet before her was a complete stranger. "What did you say?", Keiana soon manage to speak out which gave a questionable look from Asher. "Can't hear correctly? Or is it the scary terrorist of Paemir ends up being a noble man of Paemir himself? Though I am not shocked either as much of the nobility of Paemir has either died off or been imprisoned these last view years. Or the mass executions of Nobles of so called rigged courts or even the new law that comes into effect next week which would cease all nobles lands for the 'good of the people' only in fact a power grab by corrupt men of the Council who have an Agenda by ending the aristocracy possibly a threat to the entire kingdom? Then again those of the crown are either too ignorant to know or too corrupt. Never the less I am Asher Rorke and the last of the combined clan line of the Cuillinn-Rorke-Bachelet, and one of two people who are of the Founding Clans of Paemir as the rest. Well the Rest have either been killed with honor on the battlefield or were butchered on the orders of a Weak King who only views his negotiating power to protect the realm which only worked for a time but soon all it will crash down as the Will of Cold Steel dictates the end of such an era.". Asher soon pushed on as Keiana eyes began to give a hint of anger. After all Asher just told her own father was a weak King and his ideals were doomed to failure. She was not liking this at all as she loved her father but also knew her uncle was not killed by the orders of the King. "Oh? I tend to forget the good old King Kylan the Sixth is loved by those in central regions.. Still the time of his reign and his peace is coming to an end. Even now this nation continues to fracture into many sides. As men of great power and riches slowly overtake everything and the people of Zalboria slowly are being drained of everything. They say a pillar is as strong as its Foundation but this Foundation continues to crack as cancer comes into it as it brings everything to ruin.", Asher soon finished only to be slapped really hard in the face by Keiana. Anger was fuming out of her face as she stared at Asher, at someone she wanted to long to see only to see someone bitter, someone changed by something wrong. It was more then she could bear as now there might be even some truth in the matter as how could someone completely turn into something else, something wrong. "I deserve that I sort of went too far on that regard. Though meeting under these circumstances would stress anyone, or even not trust one.", Asher stated as he rubbed his cheek. "I trust you...", Keiana manages to reply which gave Asher a questionable look. "What did you say?", Asher soon asked. "I trust you.... because I always have... even now I been waiting... waiting all this time and I got to ask... Ash... What happened to you?! What could make you completely different from when we were children?!", Keiana soon stated with even more anger. Asher was lost for words, in fact he didn't even met the Princess before, so he was weirded out someone called him by a name he hasn't heard since. Wait... red hair almost if familiar... no it couldn't be. "Have you forgotten the promise we made 8 years ago? Have you forgotten me?!", Keiana then stated with force as she felt betrayed. Asher was silent and unable to answer in reality and truth he did. With all that had happened... the death of his entire family. The Destruction of his home, pledging his life to kill whoever was responsible for everything that had occurred. Now he remembers, an old childish promise he made before this all occurred, a promise he made to a red headed little girl and all from a happier time. "I... so much has happened... all I can say is, well the truth.", Asher soon replied. With that he did, everything that was happening in Paemir and everything that lead to him being here. From the slum towns and cities were popping all over and not shown to representatives or ones who been easily bribed. Asher told the Princess everything which lead to one question. What could be done about it? ______________________________________________ A Few days would soon pass as the inspection would go without incident within two days before the new law in Paemir would go into effect urgent messages would be sent out of certain individuals to meet up within the capital by the Princess Keiana Lamont. What reason? Well they would find out when they got there.

"An invitation from the princess?" A feminine voice asked from behind the throne of Cadan Kasorymor. Sharp, regal, every syllable rolling off the tongue with an aristocratic flair, the kind only a court education could provide. She spoke with familiarity, indicating that she was well acquainted with the person to whom she was speaking.
The man gave a grunt of affirmation without turning around. In his hands he held the letter. Expensive looking vellum on which was scrawled flowing cursive handwriting in the language of the mainlanders. The missive was tantalizingly vague. It spoke only of an urgent need to speak with him, in person, at the capital, in secret, in a very short span of time.
"Now, what I be wantin' to know, how'd this message get here so fast, comin' all the way from Zaltium City? Bloody long trek, that, even with one of me boats bein' the one to do the ferryin'." A decidedly less regal voice inquired while his hand smacked the page. That was Cadan Kasorymor. His face was hidden behind his iconic mask, but his speech said much. Curiosity, towards more than one topic, being the primary attribute to pick out.
"They must have went at quite the fevered pace." Mary proposed, still behind him.
"Well, wouldn't be right kind'a me to keep a lady in a rush waitin', eh? Suppose I best be makin' arrangements to get movin' to the capital. Girl sure ain't leavin' me much of a margin to dally with."
"You've kept me waiting plenty of times. On purpose, I might add." The woman said with narrowing eyes. It made the margrave laugh.
"Yeah, but see, I can get away with that. You ain't a landholder, and you're stuck leanin' on me for protection. So how about that?"
"Ah, so now you care about what the crown thinks?" She taunted.
"Like bloody hell, girl. But, I know me an opportunity when I see one. And this here," he waved the vellum sheet again, "sounds like exactly the kind of thing I want to get in on."
Now he had the woman's attention, and she raised an eyebrow. "Do enlighten me."
"Yeah, I be willin' to bet a few zalors that this here meetin's gonna be about that whole Paemir affair. You know those lot, right? Mentioned 'em before, got themselves in some right-nasty trouble awhile ago, an' now got some fat-cat people's council sittin' on the chest of the region, livin' like their own little petty kings an' leavin' the little guys to rot," Cadan explained. It raised her already-piqued interests higher, and she motioned for him to go on with a rolling hand.
Which he gladly did. "We move some goods in there now and then. Some legal, some not-so-legal. Folks talk, they're rightfully unhappy at the whole thing. Hell, I ain't happy. You let that kinda thing fester in one area, might spread and cause more trouble. Last thing we need. This whole movement came outta Edaustros, yeah? Well it's a flawed system there, an' it ain't what we got for a reason."
"Indeed? So what do you intend to do?"
"Kick the door in, drag them out into the road and lop their heads off to the cheers of all the serfs they've been steppin' on." The margrave proudly exclaimed, puffing up his chest to make his voice boom all the more across the throne room.
The queen of the sea was silent for a few pointed seconds. "...are you serious?"
"No, of course not woman. Are you dense? Those bilge rats were put there by the king himself. We'd be steppin' all over his reputation if we do that. I don't like it, but we be needin' to take this one slow. Before you ask, I won't have a sure-fire idea until we see what princess wants. I might be wrong, just a hunch. So how about it, willin' to try your hand at that bet?" He asked with a grin that could be felt, even if not seen.
The woman playfully punched his shoulder. "I think you've won enough of my money."
"Cadan Kasorymor can never have enough gold, dearie. Don't you ever be forgettin' that." A bought of laughter came with this statement. He stuffed the letter in a pocket and grew a little more serious as silence came over the room once more.
"I mean it, though. That council is bad news. We got some right-nasty blighters in there. Ain't no coincidence most nobles died an' only one's left. Thinkin' he plans to make himself some kinda mini-king in his own right, but who knows? I'll be tellin' you for free that if we don't amputate it now, we'll regret it later."
"But is that all there is to it?" The woman inquired with a tilt to the head.
Cadan shrugged first in response, then saying, "I also be hearin' that they squirreled away a vault's wortha cash and valuables somewhere. Wouldn't mind gettin' my hands on that. An' since it's you askin', I'll also say I be feelin' bad for the folks under them. Poor excuses for leaders, nobles, an' people in general. Worst still, they're gonna leave the door right open for Baladorax. Hell, might even jump sides. Folks like that, they ain't got no loyalty but to themselves, coin, and whatever can give 'em more power. Like I said: no good at all."
"Hmm, well, I hope that she provides the inroads you're looking for."
"Me too."
"Oh, and before I forget."
This time it was Cadan's turn to tilt his head, and he did so, finally gazing back at her. The woman had aged gracefully, and still had a kind of stoic beauty about her that couldn't help but draw the eye. "Yeah?"
"What makes you think that she'd be interested in Paemir, of all places? It's hardly relevant to the political scene at-large."
Her question made him smirk. "Because they just had a big inspection out thatta way at the behest of the crown. You know how courtiers gossip, you think they wouldn't be talkin' about the king's princess volunteering to go visit the boonies out of the blue? Pretty suspicious, turned some heads. I be thinkin' I know why she did it. But that be just another hunch."
Mary produced a coin from her purse and handed it to the man. "Doria for your thoughts?"
It disappeared in seconds, a quick hand motion snagging the tenure and dropping it into a pocket in his clothes. "Har har, well if you're payin'. Let's just say I feel bad for her future husband, you know, the one she's been makin' every excuse under the sun to not tie the knot with down in the Republic. Now no more chatter. I need to get ready, you're in charge until I get back. Don't let anything go amiss, right?"
"Right." She affirmed.
The two parted ways there, with the margrave leaving his residence to find a ship to get him to the king's demesne.
-
A series of rivers and canals linked Lake Zalt to the open ocean, although it wasn't a particularly fast journey. This lake is where the capital city derived its water supply, and it was also a major commercial hub. Other traffic only made the trip even slower, and it really made him unhappy about the deadline he had been given to get here. Truly, did that woman know nothing about transit times? It was probably something she took for granted as the bluest of the blue blooded. Even so, Kasorymor managed to make it on time. One of his sloops plodded down the river and into the lake, an easy sight as the only warship here. Riverine naval vessels weren't very commonly used anymore, despite him vehemently protesting that fact. This was an international trend, and at least on that front it was a benefit; those times he wanted to raid the Republic, Raoecia, or Baladorax. The latter was wising up, but he still had dozens of stories to tell about times he took some boats down a major waterway to hit a vulnerable city or base...
But those tales would have to wait for another time.
As the ride of a noble, and a powerful one at that, finding a dock wasn't very hard at all. He passed command of the ship onto his first mate, gave shore leave to the sailors and marines staffing the boat, and then headed down the gangplank at the head of a column of sailors eager to experience the treats of the largest city in their nation. It was an enviable pursuit, but one that the margrave wouldn't be able to join them on for quite some time. He had business to attend to very shortly. A gloved hand pulled a pocket watch from his coat to check the specifics, and that enticed him to beat feet quickly down the paved roads towards the Royal Quarter where the princess had requested him to meet.
Something told him it wasn't going to be a 1-on-1 kind of chat.

"Your highness, Marquess Gransela is here to see you."
"He sure came fast, bring him in."
In one of the most well decorated room sits a young girl who is enjoying her afternoon tea. Her ownership of this room, her appearance, and the attitudes of the guards and servants towards her shows that she is not a normal girl but someone of considerable position. In fact, she is among the most high ranking noble in the nation of Zalboria, being just a step behind her siblings and father.
"Good day, your highness. Your loyal knight, James of Gransela has arrived as per your request."
Entering the room is a man that is strangely young for being in such a high position, the Marquess of Gransela, a powerful clan to the South of the nation that is famous for their industrial power and innovative technology. Known to be one of the major factor in ending the Paemir Incident eight years ago, Gransela had obtained great influence through out the nation until their leader at the time had pass down his position to a young leader. Although there were worries, their new leader had no problem in leading such a powerful clan in carrying out the duty that it is required.
"Ah James, good to see you have arrived. Here, have a seat. Mary prepare a set for Lord Gransela."
"I'm honored, your highness."
James sat down in front of the princess and was given his own set of tea and biscuits, taking a sip, he sits up straight and looks at the princess.
"I was told you wanted to see me for something?"
"Indeed I do, that day-dreaming sister of mine wished to meet with you."
"...Princess Keiana, I've heard that she is trying to spread her influence by taking some of his majesty's duties while he is in poor health."
James took a few moments to recall the information at the back of his head, which is confirmed by a nod from Princess Isabelle in front of him.
"Indeed she have, not a very calming situation, considering we could possibly become political opponents. Even though the next ruler of Zalboria is likely going to be my brother, my father the King was reluctant to declare him the heir, and it seems that had stirred up some unwanted actions from some of the greedy ones out there. That said, he's the oldest male child in the family, so normally it would be unlikely that any changes would happen."
"...The princess wishes to overcome the old customs? That doesn't sound like a good thing for Zalboria to disrupt it in a time where we need to heal our wounds and work hard to improve on our own... is the princess not greatly influence by the deceased Duke of Paemir?"
Duke of Paemir Neville was not a unfamiliar name to either of them, related to the royal family by blood, the man was well known to be the most fierce warhawk in the nation. Although King Kylan had worked hard to attempt to cover the story behind the Paemir incident, James who belongs in the clan that was one of the major player during the incident knew perfectly well what had happened. Isabelle had found out with her own means, and her story confirmed by James when she spoke to him about it. However not everyone could do the same as the two, and found out about the truth, Princess Keiana was among those people that were fooled by the stories and believed Neville to be a hero that died for Zalboria... which had some truth to it, some.
However the problem lies in how she did not fully agree with the King's actions, a problem that is shared by some in Paemir. The truth is, the normal citizen of Paemir did not wish to continue any wars, after all for them you would only gain death from war, the glory did not really get pass to them. Neville did not understand that, he did not understand the hearts of the people, which ultimately resulted in his downfall when he hopes to use radical means to push his own plans.
"I'm not sure she's as ambitious as you think, but it's good to keep our alert. Knowing her personality it might be easy to stir her up and push her towards the wrong direction for their own gain, highly dangerous for our nation even if my brother takes the throne. Nevertheless judging from her haste to finish up her inspection of Paemir, it seems safe to guess that there is some relations behind that."
"The council of Paemir? If she hurried back then it was not pre-planned happening, in other words she either found out about something, or something happened during her trip. Does she want to take the opportunity to take Paemir under her control? Right now it might be ruled by the council as the King's direct demesne, it might not be too difficult in the King's current state to take over the area for her own gains..."
Although the two are having a long discussion about politics and the actions of Princess Keiana, one thing is quite strange in the eyes of others, and that is one of the participant is a young teenager. At the young age of 13, the princess could already be considered among the most skilled politicians of the nation. More than once in privacy had the King mentioned that he would have named her heir if she was a boy, but he is reluctant to do so as a major change in custom might cause too much ripple in the nation.
"As much as she would like to refuse it, she might be married off to a foreign nation, or a powerful Zalborian noble. No matter who it is, it seems unlikely that my father would be willing to lose control over that much land, even if Paemir is not nearly close to a rich region. Combined with how my sister loves the old cover story for my uncle, it is certainly not a calming combination. I do not wish to see her resulting like my uncle, as much as I treat her as a fool, she is still my sister."
"...Perhaps it would be better if your highness gains control over the area? With the support of Gransela it should not be too difficult in rebuilding the region."
"I'll think about it, but for the same reason as her I think it would be unlikely... Well then, lets us go meet that sister of mine then."
"As you wish."
The two had finished their tea, and stood up to head towards their destination point that Princess Keiana had planned. With the princess walking ahead, and James following closely behind like a faithful servant, showing that age did not act as obstacles for the princess' abilities. Arriving at the meeting room, they had a guard announce their arrival, and waited until the host ask them to enter. As they wait, James looks at the other members that seemingly have been invited, which makes him guess the reason behind this meeting. To the others, he nods to greet them, no matter if it's someone of higher or lower standing he had shown his respect and good will to each and everyone of them. However it would be impolite for him to just chat while waiting, so he remains silent.

"Honey, cocoa and coconut oil, the right mix. A good lubricant and delicious treat," Tres said casually, his hand making somewhat lewd gestures.
Cero, the only female on the Council of Five, continued picking her nails with a throwing knife. Evidently not hearing or not caring about what Tres was talking about. But when Uno entered, she stopped, sitting up and flinging a her knife at Tres' head. Which he caught between his fingers and put into a pocket.
"Where are the others?" Uno inquired quickly.
"Dos is handling some disputes between the higher merchants, the standard officials would not do according them," Cero remarked calmly, eyes affixed on Uno.
"Then, they're going to regret it," Uno remarked scratching his chin. "Cautro?"
"There's been a series of murders happening in Fort City Emeliana. Cuatro feels the guards are only for show. To keep peace, but most crimes go unsolved and now someone is making a fool of the Emelian Guard," Tres explained twirling a knife in the air.
Uno sighed. "Fine, we'll look into training an investigative organization," Uno conceded to no one in particular.
"It doesn't matter. I wasn't going to send them anyway. I'm loathed to send two in any case. But we want to keep a low profile. You'll be going to the capital city to meet with the Princess. You both know our concerns. See to it that they are met. If looks like a trap, return immediately, kill anyone in your way." Uno explained in a decisive manner, handing Cero an envelope with the information.
Tres nodded, rising from his chair, followed shortly by Cero. They needed no further explanation and set out immediately for the Capital. Taking the less traveled routes on horseback and going where they could as civilians. When reaching the Capital, they cased several locations, finally finding a weak point to infiltrate without drawing attention. The rest of the way they simply play acted at being a loving couple. Which they did perfectly.
When they arrived at their destination. They found it well guarded. They looked at each, the faintest hints of a smile on their faces. They observed their movements and snuck their way into the building. At one point Tres had to use his knives to hang from a corner of the room, with Cero hanging off him upside down from her legs, her hand itching to fling the knives in her hands. Fortunately the guard had moved on and they silently descended and started into the building once more. They were on the verge of reaching the room via window, when someone spotted them.
"Well, that was fun," Tres remarked.
"We could have done better if you'd move quicker," Cero remarked dryly.
The guards were soon upon them and soon enough the guards were upon the floor, but more guards were coming, so they heaved a guard through the door of the meeting room. The two walked into the room and realized they probably overstepped themselves.
"Somehow, I don't think Uno will be happy with our arrival," Cero remarked, her eyes taking in the others in the room.
"We apologize for man handling the guards. They were quite valiant if that means anything to anyone," Tres said loud enough for the others to hear. The guards were rushing in behind them, so they walked briskly to the other end of the room, but made no move to draw their weapons.

The day would go as all the various invited parties to this secret meeting would be lead into the secondary palace of Princess Keiana. Though there are many various Palaces that belong to the King this one was called the Ruby Palace and tended to be used by Queens and Princesses. Though the main palace itself would be to the King and the Princes there many of these such places throughout various places within the Kingdom. As such the 2nd Princess and Keiana's younger sister preferred to stay at the Summer Palace within Gransela. All the parties who required an escort would be secretly moved toward the Ruby Palace and would be lead to a section which had glass walls and a glass ceiling. There would also be a Garden around to give the place much elegance as the best place to talk is a place one wouldn't expect one to speak of such things. Keiana would seat at the edge of the long table which awaited the various visitors the first to come were of course Lord Kasorymor, the guard allowed escorted him in as they found him within the royal quarter. Keiana has been wondering if the man was truly immortal as the tales have told, she wondered it as well.
"Welcome Lord Kasorymor, it seems even at such a delighted age you still walk among the living.", Keiana first greeted the man with her hand raised with expectancy.
With that done a guard who was by the Princess would then open the seat toward the long table for he could take a seat. If Caden would notice how long he looked a bit too young to be a royal guard but never the less he was here. In fact he acted completely disciplined and acted like a Royal Guard would act like, without emotion. Once done a servant would serve some tea for Caden to drink, then would take their leave. Soon another face would rear his head one Keiana recognized as the man who pledged himself completely to her younger sister, internally she wonder if the man was trying to hurt her sister. He may have stopped expanding his influence due to the word of her father but inside she wonder what was going on with the man's head. She didn't trust him as one learns in the court you cannot trust many but she did trust he would not be so ignorant on what is going on. She turned to her younger sister looking like their father but still she didn't wish any of her family to be enemies. After all
"Lord Gransela I do hope the trip with my sister was quite uneventual?", Keiana would soon inquire as a courtesy once replied she would turn to her her younger sister and come up with a very well placed hug.
"Sister you growing more lovely each day, remember what I say you need to smile more. If you don't you will simply grow old too quickly.", Keiana stated to Isabelle.
The same guard who helped Caden to his seat would soon walk toward a chair for Isabelle first as he bowed low toward her. The Chair would be there as she would seat then he would turn toward James without emotion but seemed to be looking at him quite coldly. He would soon open a chair for the man next to the Princess Isabelle as he would seat he would go backto his post. More Tea would be served to the both of them by servants as they awaited the last of their invited guests. When the door opened once more quite commotion could be heard from the other side the young guard was going to his weapon only for Keiana to shake her head as he soon went back to his post. When it revealed the others of his invited guests it was sort of expected from these kind of people. Keiana heard many stories but knew one thing about them they were completely loyal to the King, so they too could be trusted on much that goes around in this realm.
"I believe that should be all the guests that are invited. Though next time just don't test the royal guard too harshly, then again maybe they should.", Keiana soon wondered outloud as the others would be seated the young guard who helped others to their seat would be soon helped by him to each of their seat and tea served for each of them.
When completed Keiana would soon walk up to her chair as the guard opened it for her as she sat down. As everyone would settle down Keiana would take a sip of her tea for a moment with silence then she would say, "Now then... your all wondering why I called you in in such urgent matter today."
Waiting for responses Keiana would then continue, "Such a short notice yet so little time we have, for one moment please."
Keiana soon nodded her head to the young guard as he and another nodded their heads to the others. Soon all the servants would leave the room and the two remaining guards left would close the door then lock it. The daylight would continue to shine into the glass walls as the scenery made the room look vibrant. As the two guards walked back the young one soon takes off his helmet commenting, "Really... such troublesome to pretend to be a guard... right Jorge?"
Jorged took off his helmet then replies, "Oh be quiet Asher its not everyday we get to see so many powerful players in one room."
Keiana soon says, "Please mind your matters both of you, we have many honored guests here and not much time."
Of course this would make anyone in the room suspicious out right on the situation as both men soon brought out a few papers, specifically maps and other assortment of things. Newspapers both from the capital and ones in Paemir. Then some looked ragged almost illegal in nature and finally various other paper work of things that seemed of interest.
"You will all be wondering why I called you in well to be more precise I only did as a favor for someone else.", Keiana soon stated as a fact well the younger teen soon adds, "That is correct to be more precise I was the one who called you all in here."
That alone was quite a bold statement actually it was almost treasonous in sounding. The young man soon adds, "Ok maybe that sounded wrong. Maybe more of I was the one who requested the princess in calling you all here."
"Sounds better as well.", the older man soon added from his part as he finish giving copies of papers all over to everyone in the meeting.
"You forgetting something Asher?", Keiana soon asked as Asher raised his eye brow at Keiana then she moves her head in a motion of he was missing something.
"Oh right!! I forgot to introduce myself,I am Viscount Asher Rorke, Lord of Valhedge well what's left of Valhedge. I am in all intents and purposes a leader of your so called terrorist in Paemir. Though I prefer to be called a leader within the Resistance. As well my good friend over there is Viscount Jorge Wyvern another leader of the Resistance.", Asher soon finished as he pointed toward Jorge though he soon shrugs at the younger teen.
"You got to watch what you say, you might make the others question our motives once more. Also technically we are traitors.", Jorge then added which Asher soon replies, "Yes and no, traitors to those greedy bastards on the council? Ya but we are on the side of the crown... sort of? Gah too much complications."
"You two please get back on topic here, didn't you say in three days this might be all for naught?", Keiana soon stated as she was starting to get a headache.
"Right.", the both of them replied as they soon turn to those at the table.
"The reason why you have all been called here, to be precise is the need and the threat to the Kingdom as a whole. At this moment a threat so large it could spill over into all other regions and possibly bring an end to our nation. What I am talking about I am talking about the Provisional Council lead by the real traitor Lord Gervengan.", Asher stated as he picked up a Newpaper which showed the old man being praised at a speech from some years ago.
"Well first off before I continue do any of you have any such questions that need answering? I do know there is questions, after all you probably want to ask why the resistance is working with a Princess of the Crown.", Asher soon stated and finished.

Cadan carefully observed the make of the Ruby Palace throughout the 'tour' he received on the way to the meeting room. All that glass didn't exactly do much to make him feel safe, especially since this was supposed to be a secret meeting. Being the women's area it was probably the most well guarded, for various reasons, but the fact is if someone did slip by they could do some damage. Or spy on them. It was the latter that worried him more. The former? Hell, let some stupid bastard try and pull an assassination plot on his watch. Some sport after the trip over here with zero detours was just the thing he needed to spice up his week.
He didn't voice any of these thoughts to the servants, however. No use burdening them with the concerns. And as he got into the garden he was prompt in taking the woman's hand into his own to give a short bow over it in the way tradition demanded.
"Aye, your highness. These old bones still got some kick to 'em. Mighty odd place for a secret meetin', dead center of a big, glass box. Gotta hand it to you, I sure wouldn't be expectin' it." The man displayed his usual sense of humor, a dry kind of wit that he used to poke at obvious flaw in the situation. There was a kind of truth to it, sure, but somehow he doubted it was why she picked this location. No matter, he moved to his seat.
A certain young guard there caught his eye almost immediately. Behind his mask he cracked a wry smile, but didn't say anything...to him. He did say something else to the princess that would, if his guess was right, ruffle some feathers amongst more people than just the princess. "You know, highness, I was in Edaustros not too long ago. Wanted me to be askin' when you'd be showin' up for that marriage. They're startin' to think you intend to leave 'em holdin' the bag."
Next came James and the other princess. He knew them both. Word has it the two were rather close these days, and he'd seen them together on a few occasions when visiting that clan's shipyards for pickups or deliveries. He gave them a curt greeting but more-or-less had the same idea as the new guests, not a lot to say until things got rolling outside of his initial quip.
The third set of arrivals, those were the strangest. They came in at the head of a small column of guards, several of which they had trounced on the way through the door. The margrave gave them a short round of applause, having been able to watch the entire display through the transparent walls and open set of double doors. "Good form, you lot. Try not to be breakin' the heads of any of our best and brightest, yeah?"
After that business got underway with Keiana finally revealing what they had all been called here for on such short notice. The chatter between the two 'guards', along with their removal of helmets, immediately clued Kasorymor into the fact that he had been spot on in his prediction of this mess. There was definitely room here for some snide comments, plenty came to mind. 'The plot thickens', 'they smelled too bad to be real guards anyway', or even just 'knew it', but he decided to keep a lid on it. Maybe he just wasn't in much of a mood for banter today.
However, the plot did thicken as the two of them introduced themselves in proper and started to produce documents for all of them to read. Cadan helped himself to a few, though he already had a rough idea of what they would be talking about. Two sides of a small scale propaganda war between some resistance group and the council over in Paemir, with a few pages dating back even further to just before Neville Lamont was killed. As for the personalities, he knew both of the men at least in passing. Nobility as it were, their names were thrown around a couple of times beforehand. This guy wasn't one to forget anything once he'd heard it, either.
"Yeah, first question's this: Did you three prepare at all for this little ordeal, or are you all makin' it up as you go along? Because, kiddos, you're not makin' me think you're puttin' your best foot forward. Them rocks you rule over back home might be an easy crowd, but us real folks, need a little more work."
So maybe he wasn't entirely out of the mood for banter, this apparent as he took a potshot at Asher's own casual attitude towards his demesne being a pile of rubble, and also his seeming lack of preparation. Granted, that fact didn't seem to bother him much, if anything he found it rather amusing. The others guests...might not take it so kindly.
"I could probably be askin' a hundred questions before you even begin, but I'll just skip all that and say: Spill your guts on the situation an' why we're here. I already got the gist, but how's about cuttin' these fine eriffs some rope? Stars above, boy, you ask for questions after the briefing, not before it!"

The two enters along with everyone else that was invited to this private meeting, with Isabelle returning the hug from her sister, and James waiting until they have finished their show of affection.
"Everything was fine, your highness, thank you for asking."
James did not have much encounter with the older princess, or rather he had chosen to avoid much interactions with her in order to show others of his support towards Isabelle, a political move. Personally he did not find Keiana's ideals any more attractive than the prince, but he did not find any reason to go against her either, which is why he kept silent when Keiana wishes to take the duties of the unwell King rather than opposing it like several other nobles have done.
Returning the hug to her sister, Isabelle had a light smile to her face in return to the greeting. They may have their differences between their ideals and way of governing, but that did not stop the two from holding a level of intimacy that is matching for two sisters. However she knows that Keiana did not know about the potential and ability of the younger sister, and Isabelle had chosen to not reveal it to her for now. To do so, she had commonly asked James to voice her opinions out for her, which creates a false image that James is the one that's having the initiative here and perhaps affected the judgment of her siblings towards her.
"Why thank you dear sister, you too are looking more gorgeous every day. I'm sure many of the nobles in Paemir were stunned by your beauty when you visited them a few days ago."
Except one thing, that her sister is a bit lacking on the "upper" figures, which at times worries herself. Considering their mother did not seem to have such problems, all she could do is tell herself that she'll definitely turn out different from her sister... hopefully.
As they spoke, James had noticed the two 'guards' that were in the room, and clearly realize their identity. After all, they were neighbors and had plenty of occasions to see each others faces. Rather than voicing up his question, he had a pretty accurate guess on why they are here judging from the princess' hurried returning from her inspection trip. James nods to the two guards as he and Isabelle heads to their seats, sitting on the opposite end of the table as her sister, and James sitting to her left. He just finds it fairly strange at the coldness of the 'guard' as he leads James to his seat, considering there was no actual conflict with Paemir for many years, and that by now it's pretty much all thanks to Gransela that Paemir is still up and going. Nevertheless he decides to treat it as some sort of jealousy, perhaps towards his personal standings, wealth, ability, or maybe even just that the 'guard' wanted to get in favor of the two princesses and wishes to have a bite on him as a show.
Lord Kasorymor was a familiar figure to him, although he did not exactly believed in the official age of the lord. Gransela worked with the Kasorymor clan for many years, building warships and other military equipment from time to time, which gave their people plenty of time to interact and build a long term relationship. But having such a man here might affect James' own decision, he wouldn't want to be openly against the Kasorymor clan, it might harm future cooperation.
A guard then crashes through the doors, announcing the appearances of the new arrivals. James watched as the new group arrives and makes a scene with the guards, although they do not seem to have intentions that are threatening to any of the members here, James watched the group in case they had any additional plans and spoke towards them.
"As much as your operations have impressed me, I would recommend against doing anymore unwanted personnel and property damage."
Seeing that the new group seems to be among those that were invited, James walks over and pulls up the guard that was just thrown into the room. After checking the man's fine, he turns and nods back at Isabelle before returning to his seat.
"Lord of Wyvern, one of the most affected major cities during the Paemir incident. Was one of the major clans at the time, but was reduced to close to nothing if it wasn't for their long turn ruling of the area. Lord of Valhedge, was reduced to ruins and have little value."
As the guards reveal themselves, James whispers to Isabelle to quickly explain a bit about the two. He had some knowledge about them, met them a few times in the past, but did not have any personal relations with the two. He finds that they seem to be quite hostile against him in their past meetings, something he could not reasonably understand as he do not remember doing anything towards them. Perhaps the two did not like the fact that he helped Paemirians, maybe their pride tells them that they should try to help their own people with their own ability, something that they seem to lack at the moment.
"Ah, Asher Rorke, I have some vague memories of you from when I was even younger, strange to see you here of all places. I seem to remember you having a close relationship with my sister, perhaps you have decided to call her for help to reinstall your clan as a influential noble of Paemir?"
Isabelle's memory of the older man is not very clear, after all she was only 5 or 6 at the time, even if she's known as a genius it is very difficult to recall memories of that age. She did however questioned his motives, and if her sister is being arbitrary with her influence just for a friend rather than for the nation.
James and Isabelle both have the opportunity to take a look at the 'evidence' that was pass to them, which shows some level of corruption among the Paemir council. It's quite a bit of problem but in James' eyes he was not surprised, considering that according to former records, it was only slightly better back when the Duke of Paemir was still alive. There is however one difference, the duke used what he can for his personal plans to fuel a war, although many of those efforts were put to waste when much of those resources didn't even arrived in his coffers.
"....You are traitors, at least I did not hear anything about a pardon from his Majesty about the military actions in Paemir. If you would want some legitimacy I would highly recommend you get some publicity among the nobles to further your cause, otherwise it would be no different from a rebellion towards the throne. Of course, if you can do it at the level of Lord Ansiktslosa then it would be another story."
Lord Ansiktslosa, the family name that the former rebel, now royal guard captain has taken after his pardon in the Paemir incident. James had the opportunity to meet with him a few times in the past, a powerful, willful man that was able to single handedly tear down the Duke of Paemir from his throne and possibly among the most feared man of the Paemir region. If someone could carry out a rebellion as well as he had, the King might choose to do the same as before, pardon and recruit for the sake of the entire nation at the cost of a damaged region.
James gave them a bit of political advice, as that seems to be lacking from the two younger nobles. They have little experience when it comes to court diplomacy, a common trait among Paemirians which seems to prefer brawn over brains, and wishes to overpower others with military strength which does not work all the time.
"Gentlemen, can we watch our languages here? We're royalty and nobles discussing matters about our nation, not hawkers in a slum market. Lord Gransela, please don't provoke the two lords of Paemir."
"As you wish your highness."
Isabelle did not really care as much about the language, it was just a cover to express her opinion about the situation to James. She wanted to see what they could use out of the situation, as a possible ally, and not as an enemy. After hearing Lord Kasorymor voicing his opinions, James took a short peek towards Isabelle, who nods at him to go ahead with whatever he is thinking of. Now that he had some understand of the possible ally's opinion on the situation, he can share a similar status and do the same for himself.
"Excuse me, Princess Keiana, I have one concern here which I would hope you can answer me. From what I hear from the two young men beside you, I believe you wish to seek help from us in terms of military strength so I must ask you this... is this operation permitted by his majesty the King?"
It's the line that splits this operation from being legal or illegal, quite an important factor in the long run. If the evidence here is true and convincing, they could have just presented it to the King with the help of the princess, which makes everything a lot easier. It would give Asher and Jorge a legal standing against the Paemir council, and could even arrest or put down the Paemir council with the royal army. However if this is a sort of under the table trade, it could be more risky, and be viewed as rebellion as a whole against the nation.
"Another question is, have I sworn loyalty to your highness? I don't believe so. If this is a personal request from one noble to another, what are the chips on the table that we would be able take? What do you have to offer, what kind of efforts are you putting in yourself, and what kind of result would you like to see?"
Like the hundred years old noble, James did not take their light hearted attitude too well. After all, all the members here are taking a risk just for thinking about going against the council of Paemir, secretly plotting against a royal demesne is certainly not something they could openly carry out.

Cero and Tres listened to the banter back and forth. Cero expression's was blank, but inwardly she disliked these people. All so self involved, but then she supposed that their father was the same way.
At a lull in the conversation, Tres spoke up. "If you're not acting on behalf of the King. Then we in the Curving Blade have no interest. We're looking for legitimization in the eyes of the King. Perhaps if we're going to make a move that would legitimize what you propose, then you have our interest," Tres wasn't a cultured man, so he hoped his words conveyed his meaning clearly. Cero stepped back until her back was to the wall. Protecting her back, while watching Tres' back.
They didn't much care of the political schemes within schemes. Preferring to hunker down in their walled cities and tolling the trade that passed through their territory. Though it wouldn't hurt to have greater trade in their region.

Asher turned to Jorge for a moment as the people here all reacted, of course he knew he had to play this correctly. For one the King doesn't know he was here and the best option was to get everything into place. A Dangerous game Asher plays but it has only what he could, though the notes revealed the corruption he has yet to show the full extent what is occuring in Paemir.
"Well it seems everyone is quite observant of this entire situation.", Asher stated as he saw everyone's faces as Lord Kasorymor gave his first reply.
"To be Precise, what you see is only the tip of the iceberg in the treason the Council has begun. Corruption is only one aspect of their rule and the bribing of officials from the Crown. It is why the Council hurried the Princess through the inspection full knowing if she found out what really was happening she would report to the King. The Council is far more dangerous then the previous Duke ever was one a few facts.", Asher soon pointed out then hears the princess soon speak.
"Gain back influence? Not really, after all I rule a pile of ruins and slums which were formed due to the Securitate's tyrannical rule, your highness. That is one of many things not told by the Council on what is going on.", Asher the younger princess back but he was impressed how a 13 year old acted, almost like he was when he was 13.
What a small world it would, it would mean his guesses of she being a puppet was not even correct assumption. It seems she was the real puppet master and no one would suspect a young little girl as being one. Quite dangerous to the nation if she grows up to be ambitious enough to take the throne from the rightful heir.
"Of course I am a traitor because I am fighting for my people and not the a crown who allowed such a Council to form to begin with.", Asher would reply to James in response to his wording.
Of course he didn't push at all only stating the fact and admitting what he was. He was not an honorable Noble but instead a rebeling lord who is going against his liege which he is being completely truthful.
When Isabelle turned to Keiana she soon heard her sister's question which alone a quite deadly question. The Curving Blade Clan were extremely loyal to the King and would never go against his wishes or behind his back. Asher looked at Keiana on her response which showed no emotion but completely a poker face.
"The reason for this meeting is more then just discuss Paemir, the King only knows I have not submitted my inspection report fully as I requested a few days to compile it. He suspects something but he does not know of this meeting... YET. The reason why I called you in was the Council has very dangerous connections which could endanger the entire nation potentially. We cannot permit a Royal Army into Paemir without all the evidence or even move against a Council who has covered their bases quite well. Well until now that is, military action might end up being the only option on one sole fact sister. The other options have already been exhausted.", Keiana replied with what could be considered somewhat treasonous.
"Though, we can make a deal for such requests. After all a deal can be made in many forms.", Asher would soon added on an insitive to gain support of those here.
The truth in the matter was the King only knows something is a foul but doesn't know what it could be yet. Keiana wanted to buy time before making her report to her father, not to mention his illness whatever was affecting him gotten a bit bad lately. She didn't wish to put too much stress until her father recovers a tad before showing him the treason of the Council and she required support of those seated here before it all spilled over.
"Let's cut the chase, the provisional Council has been seizing the the food rations which is turned over to help the people of Paemir, the entire council except of one man is not an original member. In the last few years every noble who was ever of on the Council have been found mysteriously dead over the years. Lord Gervengan has been putting in certain commoners that have one same link, a link which from the network of resistance fighters as well old contacts of the late Duke's intelligence agents have found... the Council are connected to The People's Movement. A Movement who's goal to end all forms of nobility and create an equal government for the people. Ladies and gentlemen the Council is members of this movement and have begun to pass new laws within the region which in effect end nobility within Paemir.", Asher soon stated to those inside the room.
Taking out a small note he began to list a few notable changes that go in affect in two days, "Seizure of all land owned by the nobles to the Provisional Council for the betterment of the people. All militias to disband and must join the Paemirian Securitate for the the betterment of the People. All Noble Titles are voided within the premises of Paemir for the Betterment for the people. All Nobles who resist and do not submit to the Will of the People shall be branded Criminals and sent to the Mines For Life. I could go on the list of laws they begun to slowly take over the region in secret without informing the Crown but here is another. The Duchess of the Mountain Ashalia Lamont is hereby shall be tried for the crime of being the daughter of the Tyrant Neville and shall face charges for being the blood of a Royal. As you can see Paemir Incident was all a plot not by the nobles of Paemir, you see those nobles were all pushed by a faction who wished for destabilization of not just Paemir but Zalboria as a whole. To put in better terms the King and all of us have been duped from the beginning, the People's Movement wishes to over throw our governments for their own ideology."
Jorge would then continue as he brought in a large map that they had aquired through the means of contacts in Raoecia and Eduastros. One would notice the map showed no longer just the nations remaining but showed a third of Zalboria, Raoecia and part of the Republic covered in was written, The People's Republic of New Eden.
"Now then you can see the underlining reason why we called you all in such a hurry. Because within the month Paemir will no longer be the same as the laws go in effect.", Asher then stated watching everyone's reaction.

It seemed that James was coming out swinging, and it wasn't really undeserved, either. The bunch here should really have thrown their evidence on the table first, rather than let the guests here stew and think their own thoughts. Persuasion didn't seem to be their strong suit, but he couldn't really blame them for it too much. It was how a lot of the eastern bunch were. What Cadan was waiting for was to see if they'd be honest with them or not. If they tried to pull any fast ones, they'd lose his favor very fast. All the talk of treason and otherwise didn't matter as much to him, at least, not out of hand.
He listened intently to what he was being told, and continued to pore over the evidence and maps as they were provided. The allegations that the two were making were pretty damn severe, if all of it was true. Some of that he had confirmation of, others, not so much.
"You're makin' some pretty serious claims here, matey. Throwin' around that kinda talk is already a dicey thing to be doin', slander at best. Another stack of treason charges at worst. But I'll vouch for the boy here, a little bit. My lads do some tradin' with Paemir, their port city is pretty strategically located an' they pay a pretty pence for food. They've seen the bully-boys confiscating goods as soon as they changed hands. Technically ain't nothing against the law there, but it ain't in good form, neither, to be doin' it when the serfs are already goin' without in times of peace." Cadan said.
"Now, those dead nobles and mass arrests. Bucko, you're gonna need some proof that this all happened. Now sure, it be mighty fishy all but one guy died, but it has happened a few times before. Far as I know, you got no proof to those unlawful arrests either, other than a handful of clippings. I doubt these dozen or so reports cover all the incidents. You got any pictures for me, eyewitness accounts, even an idea of where they been keepin' and workin' these boys? My lot saw a few arrests once again, but we're outsiders, that don't go for much. What about witness testimony or some other proof linkin' to them bein' aligned to the People's Movement? I know about 'em. Weird place for 'em to set up shop, Paemir, but I suppose it ain't too out of bounds to believe it." After helping him a little, these were the parts he was still skeptical about and wanted more information on.
There was a bigger concern however, and Kasorymor took the note from Asher and held it up for the delegates to see. His finger tapped at the wax seal at the bottom that held the Lord's signet ring imprint, with his signature right below. "But I guess none of that matters since the berk was dumb enough to pass this list of laws out with two of his signatures right on it. Ignore everything else I just said; show this to the king an' you'll have the Royal Army in there cleanin' house by week's end regardless of anything else. Let me count it off: Removin' the nobility, treason. Arrest an' sentencing without a trial, illegal. Trying the Duchess 'for being royal blooded', that one's high treason and would probably get the guy who smashed up your region a few decades ago rushin' in there to stage a rescue operation at the king's personal request. But I suppose there's a couple reasons you don't want to do that. Time, for one. So they don't scatter, for two. But I'm willing to bet there's a third, more personal one, ain't there?" He asked while his eyes flickered the two viscounts, he chose not to voice what that potential third option was. Once more, he'd rather they actually say it.
Meanwhile he did take the time to direct his attention to the Curving Blades to try and keep them interested. "Don't be too quick to dodge out of here. If you're lookin' to get recognized by the King, I suspect rippin' down these rats will get you right on the map. As our friend here just told us, they be lookin' to scalp the king's blood relative, and spit in the face of his good will in installin' them in the region to begin with. Might be worth your time, I'd say."

The three are arguing in circles, not a very good sign. James took a look at the 'evidence' that they have provided, some are true based on his experience with Paemir, but much more are questionable. At least nobles such as the two in front of him should not have access to this level of knowledge, not as clear as they have provided. It's obviously some of these are made up, in a way so that the stories connect, and attempts to convince the others to help. The problem here is, if these evidence are all accurate, they have no need to seek other nobles for help and could have just gave it to the King right away.
"....I'm highly skeptic on the legitimacy of these evidence you have provided, and is not as much worried about such nation, as much as it might harm Zalboria. Paemir has a large area of very poor soil, greatly affecting its ability to produce food, and more so after the Paemir incident caused heavy damage to the farmland region. There's really nothing to gain from the area if you ask me, unless the Empire are the ones attempting it, but in that case they should have been surrendering and not be an independent nation."
To be honest, if it is Gransela alone he would be benefiting from the situation. If the really do claim independence he'll have much to gain by defeating them in battle, unless the Empire gets involved and do so in record time, it would be unlikely for the council to achieve a victory. Gransela would also not need to continue their free supplies to Paemir, which has been carrying on for several years by now, something that James wished to cease if possible. That said he can't just let the people die either, but if they're going to be so uncooperative then he would have no choice but to abandon them.
"Viscount Rorke, Viscount Wyvern. You two haven't done this before have you? Your words are not influential enough, to be open with you, you two are nobodies and your words are not enough to move anyone that did not have a close relationship with you. My clan will not move just because you happen to know Princess Keiana, and have some empty talk about how bad the council is so lets put everything you got on the table."
After comparing her loyal follower James with the two Paemirians, Isabelle is looking quite relieved that she had followers that are much more helpful than the two that Keiana had brought over. The older princess might have many followers, but ihey are all of this level then Isabelle would have nothing to worry about. The two have dreams and hopes to save their nation, but they certainly have no knowledge, or talent, in carrying out a convincing negotiations. She sighs to herself, looking at her sister as if looking at a dog owner whose pet had been in trouble, before turning to James so that he could give them a hand.
"Right now I'm not going to ask you if what you said about the council is as accurate as you think, we have enough witnesses here, but we need to have at least some information that we can use. We do not need to hear your ideals or your opinion, we need facts. What do you have yourself for this operation? How many soldiers? What level of equipment? Even a rookie in commanding would be able to identify and produce such data when they want to carry out a military operation. What about the council? How many men can they send to the front if we have to engage them in combat? How many are you expecting us to provide for assistance?"
Looks like the two kids could use some education in military strategy as well, even Isabelle who is not a combatant have more understanding than they do, and she's much younger than the two. It's the basic of the basic, information, and the two did not seem to take much care in that when it is the most important part.
"What are you willing to give us or do for us in return? You're not expecting us to come save the day and leave, just like that do you? Even in children's books it is not that simple. You're asking us for help as if we're your followers, as if we should help without returns. Tell me, do you have ambitions for the throne? Because you certainly act like you already have it. Even if we're willing to help without returns, just by respect towards other nobles you should have brought up a deal of some sort."
The Curving Blades are already a group that only answers to the King, and both James and Cadan have a higher status than the two younger noble, what exactly gave the two the idea that they could move them as they wish? The two was certainly not a good choice in this attempt to seek help, nor was princess Keiana from the way she handled the meeting. The princess is the host, she should be the one that leads the meeting, but instead she allowed the other two to do so instead. If she's seeking to put on some sort of show to drop his alert towards her, then she certainly have succeeded.
After James finishes and sits back down, Isabelle cross her legs and takes a sip of tea before speaking about the situation, twisting a lock of her hair as if the situation bores her.
"Don't you think this is a bit too hasty, dear sister? Can you trust these two just because you have known them in the past? Father, and even the normally kind brother would certainly not take this lightly. If this is as serious as the two Viscounts have suggested it to be, we should take it to father right away and let him be the judge."
"I'm sure Lord Ansiktslosa would be able to put down the attempted rebellion with ease, being undefeated against the army during the Paemir incident."
James added as the young lady finishes, and sits back to look at their reactions to what they have suggested. It seems the young Princess and the lord of Gransela share similar concerns with Cadan here, if this is big then the King would handle it and it would be the best choice, if it's not so big then they're making up stories here to pull in support.

Tres didn't need to confer with Cero. Despite their differences in personality. They knew the goals that Uno sought. Taking in the evidence, if it was to be believed, their cause seemed to align in favor of the King and would benefit the Curving Blade.
"We can find out if it's true. If it comes to that. I imagine the rest of you have your ways as well. But if this is true. Then the Curving Blade will support your cause. However, our Council expects compensation for any efforts carried out outside of our region," Tres said simply, his hand casually waving to the side. They were still very much interested, but were just as easily willing to drop away from the entire venture.
Cero nodded as if she were listening, but really she was keeping an eye on their surroundings. Everyone seemed to be acting in a normal fashion. It was usually the people that were trying not to draw attention that were the biggest threat. She was mentally gauging the difference in body language and tones.
Meanwhile, back at their home, Uno sat reclined on a couch, flicking a coin into the air. It was from a long forgotten empire. It wasn't enough to simply exist their father had said. We must constantly be learning, growing stronger, smarter, faster. Complacency toppled empires and made men weak. He would not allow them to become weak. And his siblings knew the same. Catching the coin, he clutched it hard in his hand.

Of course the first reaction in all this was the skepticism would surface among the meeting, it was expected. After all how could such a Council do such things and be ruling in name of the King? To those who never lived or been in Paemir it was expected. Though Asher did keep in his mind sometimes people do lie and not all information might be 100% infallible.
"The best would ask directly the people of Paemir who have actually experienced this first hand. That would be the biggest issue due to many people are simply living in completely fear to even talk. For Pictures at most we got a few though these are only a handful that we managed to even get.", Asher soon replied as he pushed a few over but at different locations in Paemir.
"The biggest issue those arrests for the most part only occur at night where pictures wouldn't really help prove the case. They don't just round you all up suddenly they tend to do it at random and usually against those who are malcontents. Where they go most would say they just disappeared, but the resistance knows where large portions are sent off. If important imprisoned directly at the Mountain and the current capital. Others we know they been forced into the mines without much a word.", Asher replied to Caden in his remarks when James gave his he soon adds, "Don't look at me on that? Truthfully if I was in their shoes I wouldn't wish for independence on the sole fact I would be put down really rapidly either by the Crown or the Empire proper."
In a strange twist Asher for once agreed with James though on the matter of why it was utterly stupid to go for independence. On the rest at hand Asher got to the point of everyone truly being there it wasn't man power it was something far more required.
"I know as a Viscount my place within the aristocracy and there is far too many with my title around. In fact that I am a nobody in terms of nobility tells you the dire consequences within the region where there is hardly anyone left even could lead. No I am not here for man power to fight, not I need that the resistance and those who support it number in the tens of thousands the issue here is how poorly equipped we are. Since the Rise of the Provisional Council all weaponry and advanced the corporation Paemir Arms that were working on weaponry for the Late Duke were all ceased by them. They instead gave it only to loyal troops, the Paemir Highland Army at the time were forced to disband even after existing for well over 200 years on the sole fact much of it were loyal to the Duchy and not them. That army if you didn't know is what makes much of what is left of the resistance. But as no way to make more weaponry much of it lead to them using old Post Imperial War era weaponry. We got the horses, muchof the resistance are experienced soldiers the problem we have is purely equipment. Though some help could be nice, the only thing we can repay you in at least the only way I know is. IF we win the entire riches that the Council been hoarding will be spilt among the region and those who help our cause. Which means I will pay you in gold and resources that I know everyone needs.", Asher soon stated as he knew what resource that Paemir has that others would always use.
After all Paemir is low on furtile soil or what little of it they did have something many clans exception of those in the east do not have. Coal, Iron, other metal resources which are becoming something more needed. In fact one of the main reasons the Empire wish for Paemir was on that fact to continue meeting the requirements to keep their war machine going. Armor, and other weapons which have begun to become the norm require extensive metallurgy.
"To be More Precise, for you Lord Kasoyrmor; Part of the council's hoard will be given, which will be equally distributed, you will have the rights to use Magnes Port for whatever you deem nessary, custody of all the securitate's personnel will be given to you, as well a box of confiscated weaponry that were worked on by Paemir Arms, as well ship based resources will be given a extensive discount towards you, and finally And finally, all nobility within Paemir will go back to what it was before the council. With all Lords and or Ladies still living gain back their rightful homes. Need I say more for you?", Asher soon asked Lord Kasorymor.
Jorge then turned to Gransela and soon gives an offer, "Lord Gransela what you say you be offered something only you would wish... the education of the Duchess herself."
"That may work if we could, but sister would you wish to suddenly have the Crown raise an army and march toward a region without much say? Too much noticing also our enemies like the Empire would surely notice it as well, it might be better to be a little more subtle and allow Paemir to rightfully sort itself out?", Keiana then answered her sister when she asked.
Her silence quite quite long and now the two Viscounts stopped their own selling to allow the Princess to give her own reason.
"Sister do you under stand about the culture of Zalboria? I do hope do you because not everything exactly the same. Gransela has their own culture the Ksorymor lands have their own culture, Paemir has their own culture and identity. The reason for why we have many clans is because this nation was unified by military force, the Kings of the line of Zalbor our mother's line didn't talk to create this nation, no they conquered and forced all other Kings to bend their knee. We could simply send the crown armies in and be done with it, but it might not go as we expect after all many clans and other regions may respect our father as King but they do know he is not absolute. To add more to the deal why not I make a added favor to the deal. All here who helps would have them be owe a favor from me as well think about. Would you all have the central government take everything in Paemir or better to split the spoils between all here?", Keiana then added, though she wasn't finish she finishes, "Also sister do you truly wish for Paemir to burn down again to a man who might be a royal guard now but was considered a butcher by the people of Paemir and would only give them more resentment to the crown."

Cadan spent the time while Asher explained himself productively, using it to take a finely carved wooden pipe from a pocket of his coat. The other hand fished out a lighter. Apparently he had already loaded the implement ahead of time, because he was quick to meet bowl and flame. The stem was almost 90 degrees in relation to the bowl with a smaller perpendicular mouthpiece, and this odd design soon revealed it's function when he snuck it up beneath his mask to puff at it without having to take the aforementioned facade off. Plumes of smoke from the tobacco were periodically ejected from the holes below the nose.
"Alright, now we're gettin' somewhere," he said in regards to the arrests, "keep talkin', spill everythin' you got." 'The Mountain', he made sure to keep that name in mind for later. No doubt it'd prove integral to their plans. The history lesson that followed was listened to with equal attention paid, especially those so-called advanced weapons that Neville's industrial flunkies were working on. He'd heard some rumors about that stuff, Paemir Arms working on reversing engineering Baladoraxian tech. Hell, supposedly, they even managed to bribe a few of their tinkers into defecting. True or not, his boys had made talk about some pretty swanky pieces of iron on the hips of the thug squads in that neck of the woods. Worth trying to get his hands on...
It seemed that Asher guessed he'd be interested in that, amongst other things. He gave an impressed whistle at the offer thrown his way.
"Be straight with me here, lad: You some kinda mind reader or somethin'? Because, hell, that was practically everything I was thinkin' of askin' for as soon as you threw on the table you wanted me help! That or you did some damn fine research." That was some spot on estimation by the kid's end. Kind of impressive, and kind of offputting. Had he underestimated this guy? It begged asking, and yet, that was an appealing offer; saying nothing for the ancient man's personal reasons to want to get his hands in the pie. Either way he laughed it off.
Kasorymor considered the proposition, taking a few more drags from his pipe while mulling over the idea. "All this be on the assumption you'll win this little scrap you're puttin' together. You're askin' me, an' the rest of these lot, to buy on margin. Lucky for you, I'm a gamblin' man. So alright, I'll take your offer. I'll also be givin' you this tip: Don't offer more than you can give. Don't much think your serfs will be happy if they escape one form of poverty just to get into another."
"Let's go back to that nobility thing: you're right, I want everyone to get back what's theirs. But what about all the folks what's been killed or missing? Who's gonna lead the region when the council's been put in chains? That one of you two," he motioned between the pair of rebels, "or what? This right here's a pretty shaky situation, ain't never seen anything like it; so I dunno where the chips are gonna fall. Fill your elder in, yeah? No more questions, for now."
He ended there, leaning back in his seat and waiting to see what Asher would offer everyone else, and if they'd take it.

James gave Asher a look, that he's quite suspicious of both the younger noble before him and the Paemir council. The council may have decent level of power, but that doesn't mean they are unsupervised. If they are as powerful as Asher claims, enough make everyone of Paemir be quiet about their actions, then they should clearly be put down by the Royal Army instead. But yet at the same time they're weak because they seem to have stopped their researches and developments of new weapons, which also makes no sense if they plan to declare independence. There's also problems of the natural of the people, if they are, as Keiana had said, to be as loyal to Paemirian leaders as they have claimed then the land itself is useless to the three clans here. And aren't the council made out of Paemirians? They certainly don't seem all that loyal when they have a rebel force attacking them, and looking for outside help in order to overthrow that council.
He did not believed in everything Asher said, in fact, he treated it more as the noble's method of changing their minds if they wanted to take some land in exchange for their help. Making it as difficult as possible to gain control, and make it seem like they should all hand the land back to whoever it is they had in mind as the next leader of Paemir. However one thing did caught his attention, the custody of the Duchess, which could become a valuable political tool in the long run.
"Hm? You want to hand over the Duchess, who is legally your ruler at the moment? It'll be quite a hit to your prestige and leadership in Paemir, perhaps even through out the Kingdom, more so when you're the one that suggests doing it."
It was a warning, in fact, handing over the Duchess might be more costly than simply giving over resources, or even pieces of land. They're essentially handing over the symbol of Paemir, and the source of authority of the region. Looks like these two have more ambition than they claim, that or they're fools that didn't realize all of this.
Isabelle listened to her sister talk about the cultures of Paemir, which seems a bit strange for her to know in such details about a region that she don't even live in. She did not say anything in response, as she felt that what Keiana said not completely correctly. It maybe true that the Paemirians were not too fond of the rest of the region, but then what makes her believe that placing the head with another Paemirian would be good for the nation and their dynasty? If anything the best choice would be forcing Paemir to accept, using a combination of military might and a skilled ruler that could solve these rifts, something that certainly would not be done by a Paemirian as they would just treat it as a normal part of the people.
"I believe you should calm down, sister. You're being a little bit too fond of the region, so much that you are placing them as the priority over the rest of the nation. I don't believe that is wise for someone of our position to take sides, more so when it is a region where our influence is quite lacking. Or perhaps you have some private wishes that you want to take care of with the region? Or perhaps someone of that region?"
She seems to be unshaken by what Keiana said to her, she's simply not all that interested about Paemir. The region may have some strategic resources, but it lacks basic production of its own, a highly fatal trait. It's also bordering the Empire, which means its main job is to act as front-line defense for the rest of the nation, rather than as a mining region. Not only that, the region was taken over in the past if only for a short time, showing that the Paemirians are actually not that good at their job despite the level of pride they like to have. Then she looks at James, who nods and speak to finish up.
"It is true that it would be better if the Duchess no longer stay in the region, considering the level of infrastructure and lack of safety in the region. Very well, the Duchess can stay in Gransela until further notice. Other than that, I ask that Paemir repay all the supplies that Gransela had given to Paemir, of course I don't ask for it to be paid right away, but a 20 year plan payment should be acceptable. Any further caravan would also have to be purchased, and not be expected to be given for free like in the past. Lastly, I want the custody of those responsible in the council, so that they would receive a trial before their punishment."
The last was not as much for his own gain, but more to maintain the righteousness of their operations. If they simply attack and kill those councils without question, there might be a chance that the King would be unpleased towards the three clans, and perhaps even treat them as having overstep their lines. All they need to do is rig up a trial with them or perhaps some of the rebels as the judge and jury, then it should be no problem.
To be honest, Gransela is close to working for free here. The things that Paemir offers are pretty similar to what Gransela already had, in terms of ships a mountain region shouldn't have anything more special than the two navy operating clans so it would mostly be the resources part that might interest him. However seeing that Paemir is close to declaring bankruptcy for their economy, it's likely that they'll have to give those up in order to fulfill payments to Gransela for the essential goods anyways, so he was not too worried about this either.
"Hm, perhaps you could give up something too, dear sister. I happen to know you have a few properties to the South, I would be quite happy if I could have them."
Isabelle was referring to several palaces in the Southern Central region, they're not really all that important to her, nor are they very valuable. However these palaces are in a right location that allows Keiana to gather information about the South, so essentially Isabelle wants to take away those sources of information from her sister, which will allow her more freedom when it comes to pulling strings in the Kingdom.
After they have given their request, there's still some problems that needs to be solved and the two Paemirian nobles have not said anything about, so James would have to ask them about it.
"You still haven't told me about how much men could you bring into battle, and how much would the council be able to send out in response if we enter battle with them. What about the equipment of the two sides? These information are necessary if you really want to go to war with someone, rather than your small scale skirmishes that your group are having. What about a detailed military map? Do you have something like that with information about each strongholds, their strength, and strategic locations that would be valuable for our army to use?"
They're from Paemir, they should have a detailed map, if not one that covers the entire region then at least one that contains their own knowledge. Certainly better than just going in blind, or just relying on these two to lead them in when they seem to lack much experience in large scale battles.
