Soon after Tamara, own words came out of her mouth the others would soon appear before them. At least the only good news was they managed to regrouo, the bad news was they were not sure where exactly is here. James own words of two mountain's as well stating how everyone was fine brought Gedeon to nod. "As expected Mr. Gransela, so two mountains to the west and east you say? Oh and you haven't changed much since I been asleep.", Gedeon soon noted as processing any information that could help. In reality Gedeon didn't recognize this place, so it ruled out Imaginary Macrosm for sure. Well Gedeon was processing this, Como and his butler turned to Kate who greeted them. Como was the first as he picked up Kate's hand and kissed it. "Ah yes, I heard of you and Mr. Gransela, it is an honor to meet you. I am Como Falcon and this here is my butler Johnson. Ah what an elegant lady and one quite elegant author if one believes.", Como introduced himself well Johnson soon gave a slight bow adding, "Well met." Of course if they paid attention they would notice the nice suit though now dirty on Como, as well the way he carried himself he was a gentleman, though closer to something far more illegal. Not far off Tamara adds,"Como is somewhat of a boss, uhh I believe something called a mafia?" Which got Gwen to look at the man with a cold stare when Tamara revealed that though Como responds,"Not quite I a family man first, elegant helper to the unjust second, and yes mafia boss third but that is just the bonus!" Gwen still didn't buy it but due to circumstances she let it go especially they were in middle of things that went beyond her. "Wait wait wait, your saying we are on this 'Avalon'? OK what the hell did I miss when I was in a coma. Only thing I know hell broke loose, I pick a fight with some dude name Arawn, then I end up here with an very unfriendly blonde who tried to stab me with her sword. Now we are some place else that is obviously not Britain or even my own world.", Gedeon soon asked Dieter which of course also stating obvious here which Tamara soon responds,"Pretty much." The butler adds,"Indeed" Como soon says, "I am just here for the ride, I do not know what they heck is going on." "Your quite simple minded.", Gwen soon added lastly which left Gedeon sigh. With that done it was now for a game plan, Dieter's own plans made complete sense and with the scale they had a higher chance of finding where they would need to go. Though radios didn't work Dieter's plan to use the scale would be extremely well help here. "So search for the civilians and your men and regroup. Seems reasonable of a plan, Mr. Gerhardt we might run into the other Camlann Knights as well we are at it. If this is truly Avalon I wonder what else we would run into here then.", Gwen soon thought as the plan was a sound one. Gedeon soon thought as he began to sense around and soon adds, "That Scale will likely be the only thing for direction, because every time I try to sense around its too much of the same. Alright Dieter lead the way." With that done it was now up to Dieter's scale, as he would use it will give him many interesting reading. For one his own men and Camlann Knights were in fact not far from here. In fact they would be close and in opposite directions. This would broad well, as it would mean they landed in general area. The only issue here was the civilians, they landed far away which would give confusing input. East? Or was it West? In fact if someone took out the compass they would notice west, north, south, and east would be constantly turning meaning it wouldn't work. Never the less the scale would detect much magic in all directions regardless where they went. As for the final try Dieter would attempt to sense Morgan but will suddenly feel a jolt like someone knew he was looking. Whatever it was Dieter would know for sure Morgan was awake, at least it looked that way. (Camlann Knights Landed in 3, Dieter's men on 6, Civilians on 19, Mathor's men on 24)

"What you missed, Gedeon, is an alliance of Unseelie Fey invading earth with the intent of undoing Merlin's seal and unleashing Morgan le Fay on the world. They were convinced that she would held them regain dominance over the planet, and wage a winning war against humanity. I am dubious of their odds of victory, but I do believe that they could cause massive amounts of damage before they're stopped. We arrived in England in a bid to stop the fairies before they could carry out their mission, and I assume your friend there brought you out to accomplish similar objectives; even if he did not know the exact happenstances at the time. We failed the first part, so now the stakes are more dire. We'll have to stop the Sorceress here, before she can get back to earth. Or, that is how I read the situation."
Dieter took the time to catch Gedeon and his new friends up to speed while he was using the scale. He had definitely missed a lot and had to be put on the same page as the rest of them if he was to help. No doubt, he'd realize that Como got him out of the frying pan and into the fire by dragging him here. However, his help would surely be a boon.
"Speaking of you. I notice your aura has changed significantly since we last met, in Egypt. It seems much more powerful, and dark. What happened, precisely?" Of course, he still wanted to know what Salvator's story was regarding that. 'Black' was rarely, but not never, a good thing when it came to magic.
While waiting for responses to that he began to point out in various directions where things were, and how far. Compasses didn't work so he had to improvise here a little, it'd simply have to do. In this instance he used old fashioned directions. It was more for the benefit of his posse, the Scale worked fine regardless, but they'd probably like to know where things were spatially located before going off to hunt for them. Safer as well to do it this way in case they get split up.
"Miss Lac, your knights are to our immediate 'left'. My soldiers are to the 'right', and both groups appear to be equidistant from our current location. This is good. The largest pocket of civilians is to our right and downwards. It would take a lot of travel to get there." So far, so good. He oriented himself towards the 'left' again, his face creasing into a frown. "Downwards and beyond the knights, is where Mathor's host seems to have arrived. There are a lot of them. So we may wish to go pick up the knights first, and then double back. I suspect they'll be coming for us soon enough, and I doubt they'll be in as good of a position to resist them as we are." As far as the Seelie went, there was no indication at all from the scale. Curious, being it got a read on their counterparts. "No information on the Seelie Court. I doubt that there are none here, so they must be masking themselves somehow. Very curious."
Finally he attempted to find out the whereabouts of the big boss herself. "And as for the bo-Argh!" The sentence didn't get finished, because he felt a powerful pulse of mental energy focused on him two seconds after he began to search for Morgan's location. The German's eyes squinted shut and he began to sweat as he forced his will into a barrier against the invading presence. It was very, powerful, and very old. These things he could tell out of hand. Bits of emotion and thought slipped through the link. Amusement maybe? Curiosity for sure. It took a titanic amount of mental endurance, but he gathered up his strength and forced the intruder out long enough to sever the connection, dropping the Scale at his feet. Dieter wasn't far to follow it, slumping hard against a tree and pinching the bridge of his nose the way one does when stricken with a sudden headache.
"I learned a lesson here today," Gerhardt remarked, "using that instrument, is not always entirely safe."
After a few moments to catch his breath, he explained: "I think I met our true adversary. Somehow she knew I was seeking her, and was not pleased. In fact I dare say she attempted to send me a parting gift for attempting at all. I do not think it wise to attempt that again. Still, we learned two things from this. She is in fact real and awake, and evidently, quite strong. Skilled in mind magic as well, we will need to be extremely wary of that. More so those of you not versed in that art, as Miss Casimir and myself are."
There was all the information he had dredged up so far, along with his opinions. After retrieving the Scale he once again put on the table the idea of going to grab the Knights before doubling back to get his soldiers. It was inefficient but inevitable with radios dead in this strange land. Theoretically he could use flares to send signals out, but that might draw much more attention than they could handle right now. So, moving around would likely be the best route. As always, though, he waited to get the input of the others.
"We should move soon regardless. The Witch may now know where we are, but I assume she did before I even made the attempt. We're on her homeground now, and all the disadvantages that brings upon us."

"Why thank you, but I'll have to wonder a bit about your intentions for the compliment. Quite aggressive, are you not?"
Kate lightly replied to the mafia's complement with a joke, and kept a playful attitude to sidestep his advances. She did not know the man well, and being in the middle of a forest is not exactly the best location to chat in either. She does, however, did not say anything clear and leaves it hanging for the man to guess her attitude.
James did not make too much reaction to the short exchange, it's not a rare one and he got used to the way that Kate talks to others at times. He did hear that the man is a member of a criminal organization, although he had different connections and encounters with shady people, this one is not someone he knew about.
"Greetings to you, Mr. Falcon. I'll have to say, I'm a bit surprised to see a person of your status here, and with only your butler as well. I'm more used to seeing others of your profession traveling with a dozen or so armed men."
For someone in charge of an organization, the man sure doesn't act like it. Then again, Dieter runs around and deals with enemies personally, so he guesses that it's not all that rare among the more adventurous type.
With Dieter explaining the situation to Gedeon, there was no need for him to add anymore to it. However when Dieter was affected by the counterattack from their target, James quickly move into action. Although his specialty is not related to mind magic, he is the one with the understanding of how magic works, and knows how he could prevent further attacks.
With a quick wave of his arm, he causes the mana around him to 'quake' by scrambling up the existence of regular mana in the air and those that he directly controls. It would be in a way like chaff, and blocks the connection of magic that is trying to reach their location, and thus reduce or even cancel the effects of the mind magic. This will only last for a few moments before the mana calms back down, and although just moving his mana will not cost him much, it will eventually stack up. Good thing he's not alone, as Kate had followed his example, and forms a thin shield around them. Although this is not enough to protect them from powerful attacks, it's enough for mind magic that does not focus on destructive powers, and hopefully enough to prevent further attacks or detection from Morgan. After that's done, they have a chance to comment about the happening.
"Indeed, just like what Nietzsche had said. 'He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee.' When you try to detect others, they might try to do the same against you, and possibly cause harm."
"The enchantress really does seem to have quite some abilities. My charm magic could not nearly reach as far, and can't affect others just by detection. It might be more dangerous as we approach her, so we might have to prepare for that."
That or they could have James repeat it over and over again, which works for a short amount of time... that is if that's the only thing she can do. Either way the pair did not have anything else to add to Dieter's decision, other than James summoning several wisps to scout ahead and to cover their surroundings. No matter which directly they choose to head to, it would be a lot better to know what's ahead before they jump into the fray, and he can't really have Beatrice jump from trees to trees all the time. When they advance, James and Kate would try to stay in the middle of the group to avoid getting sneak attacked, while having Mei Mei in the front along with the other front line warriors. Annie and Beatrice would stay near James and Kate, and can transform into their humanoid forms if more people are needed in battle.

"Well, that is quite a predicament.", Gedeon soon replied getting updated on everything that occurred as he starched his face which showed how rough it was.
This would continue until Gedeon soon heard what Dieter stated which made him pause a second on his own mana. It would seem whatever happened to him he was not even sure himself and soon only manages to reply with honesty, "Well, I got a theory on why it would which could explain much."
That meant Gedeon suspected himself but he didn't reveal it just yet which brought Tamara soon revealing, "Gedeon... from I know that sort of aura comes from-"
Gedeon soon stops her and soon says, "Fine... fine.... if I can take a guess? Its probably because of my own origins, it is the only explanation. I am not exactly what you call mortal... closer to what you can consider... a demi god of sorts? Regardless now is not the time we got an enchantress to deal with and a world to save... again."
Tamara was going to say something more but understood it would be a good time not to talk about it. After all she herself only heard the rumors and why Gedeon had a tougher time to work for the Mage Knights on sole fact who his rumored father was. After all it was not everyday you hear that a Hero, Viscount Avenor taking in a spawn of the Dragon God of Destruction. When Gedeon soon revealed that got the attention of Como and Gwen for a mere moment until Dieter soon revealed the location of the others in the general area which got her relieved.
Como meanwhile continues, "Ah but it is how one must be in the criminal world, if not aggressive then how can I run a business? As for why my butler and not an army, I don't need it especially Johnson can handle all issues without needing help."
Well he was stating this Johnson was near the river preparing something then took out a few cups from his back pack which he soon pours what it seems like tea.
"Tea?", Johnson soon asked which Como took the cup with a nod.
After all Johnson always had to bring the special cup for Como all the time, no matter the situation one cannot live without their tea. Soon he would offer it to James and Kate as he brought out two more cups from his bag, which looked out of place in this situation. Though the moment Dieter tries to find Morgan everyone turned to him with Gedeon and Tamara moving toward him to help him up.
"Ok what happened?", Gedeon soon asked as he soon revealed on something important.
On hearing what just occurred Tamara soon says, "So we dealing with the real deal then?"
This of course would seem so as someone who as Kate stated could do such a thing at long distance could cause much trouble. Gwen soon took out her blade on to her hand once more and soon adds, "Then let us move, time is the essence if the Witch knows our location, then she most likely knows of the others. We will not have much time before our enemies attack once more so lets get moving."
Once Dieter was helped up by Tamara and Gedeon, Gedeon would soon comment, "Why does she remind me of someone from my School days when I was learning to be a Mage Knight. Seriously its like seeing double..."
Regardless the group would soon move toward the next area toward where the Camlann Knights would be, to their luck they would have smooth sailing as they would follow the route where Dieter would lead them. When arriving in the next area of the forest they would notice something else and see a vehicle would be turned over. Nothing would be seen as it would be empty but one could tell more then just people got thrown into this area. One would note however the vehicle would have tree vines over it as if was entangled over the vehicle. That alone was not only what they could see they would notice as well the trees looked closer then usual as well the ground itself around the vehicle would be full of vines.
"Well that looks prospecting.", Gedeon soon muttered as he took out his blade out which Gwen finally noticed what was in his hand.
"Wait where did you get that sword?", Gwen would soon ask.
"This? Hey Como where did this sword come from?", Gedeon yells over in question to Como.
"How could I know, I was just given to me by Edward... speaking of that I wonder if he knows what is going on.", Como soon replied which brought Gedeon's eye brow raised more.
"Edward? You mean the rich guy you always spoke about?", Gedeon then asked.
"The very same... strange enough he was the reason I came to get you, which itself is have odd timing. Anyways what is with this scene?", Como would soon says as now noticing the image before him.

Dieter managed to get himself back in the game thanks to the help of the rest of the group. James and company for helping to disrupt the incoming spell, and the others by helping him up. They were on the ball despite the adversity, that was good. Despite going through a battle, Gerhardt himself still felt pretty fresh. The benefits of Internal Alchemy. It appeared that Gedeon was fairing similar, and his brief explanation outline why that was.
"A demi god? I see. Something like our Hercules, then? Or perhaps Albion himself, if I remember the stories correctly," Dieter speculated. Half-godlings were pretty common in myths. With his universe being more akin to the old stories than theirs, it didn't shock him that the Imaginary realm housed more of those types of people. The color of it was still concerning, but Salvator had already bailed him out against Arawn. If nothing else, the man deserved his trust until proven otherwise. The fact that they didn't have a lot of time to argue it was equally puissant.
Gedeon, and in fact the others, might also have noticed during the fight that Gerdhardt hadn't bee idle either when it comes to self improvement. He appeared to be stronger and faster, and his wells of numen deeper. Tamara had experienced that firsthand, having trained with him. It was inexplicable, despite doing the same practices, meditations and techniques, they were giving better results than ever. Not just for him either, his entire group. It had to be tied to the Merge. In fact, here he felt especially spry, with so much latent power to absorb. This would be a double-edged sword for everyone, he supposed.
They got moving not long after the issue of where to go and what had happened was hashed out.
Dieter took his usual position at the front of their column, both to guide them and so that he would be the first (other than the wisps around them) to confront any foes. His bravery wasn't deterred by their alien environment and unmappable locale. It was easy to see why men followed him. Since one hand had to stay on Anubis's scale the other one held his Luger rather than the eponymous lance of his order. In situations were bullets wouldn't be the preferred way to do battle, it could easily be ditched for his combat knife or a grenade. It was as prepared as once could be, in this situation.
-
They made good time across the trackless jungles, eventually coming to the location of the knights as told by the scale. It didn't look like anyone else was here currently, the area was deserted except for a single overturned vehicle. Broken branches, crushed grass, and bootprints in the dirt identified that people had landed here recently, but this didn't shed anymore light on where exactly they were at the moment. The scale probably wasn't wrong, so that meant there had to be more going on here than it first seemed.
The vines covering the automobile caught his eye in particular. "Look at that, do you see the foliage ensnaring that APC? That can't be natural, this car must have landed at the same time as us. An hour ago at best, by my estimates. Something must have done this, perhaps attacking the people whom had landed here."
He looked around the area with his Madder-enhanced vision, peering into the shadows behind trees and other pieces of cover. The alchemical pigment didn't just break illusions, it also improved vision in general. Using this, he also hunted for tracks leading into or out of this area. Perhaps the knights had left of their own volition, or been chased? The scale might also have been giving a very general estimation of where they were, which they'd have to narrow down themselves, so better to be thorough in their search so as to not overlook anything that could help.
"One of you, take a closer look at the vehicle and see if there are any clues within it. Doctor, do you sense anything magical in this area? Gedeon, Gwen, help me to keep a perimeter while they do this." The second thought on his mind was that this was a trap, and the knights were being used as bait. Someone was about to have a very bad day if that were the case. The inside of that vehicle might give clues, and if not, any magical residue from spells coykd indicate if a fight took place here, or if the knights were being hidden in plain sight with some kind of illusion.
Or polymorph spell, if they were truly unlucky. Alchemy of that level was almost impossible...on earth. Here? Who could say.
"Watch yourselves, it may be an ambush. But they are here according to the scale. Somewhere."

It seems no further attacks were attempted, so the two casters had relax themselves. With the barrier up and going, it should at least give them enough time to restart their defense even if another assault comes at them, so it should be ok to catch a breath. James heard about what Gedeon mentioned about his bloodline, which drew some interest in him, and a joke to ease the atmosphere.
"Demi-God you say? Hm, now that's something different that I do not have access to... you won't happen to mind me cutting off some non-vital organs would you? I'm sure you'll be fine without one of your kidneys."
He made a chopping motion with his hand before getting poked on the side by Kate for scaring the mage knight. It does sound like a joke, but it could be a valid possibility that researchers might want to kidnap the demi-god for research purposes, and could serve as a warning to him on that part.
"Stop scaring the guy, he's the one with a spear you know."
"Alright alright, it was just a joke... Anyways I don't think anyone of us here would care all that much, except for the British lady we have over there. We're not so heartless that we can just kill off someone that we've worked together to fight for our lives, so you don't have to worry about anything. I would however recommend you not announce it to the public, for your own safety and for those around you."
For now it doesn't seem to be a problem, it kept the man alive and it gave him the powers to fight, so it's an asset. As long as he can keep it under control and not go crazy from it, James don't have anything to say against it. Kate did not give it as much thoughts about that aspect and instead wondered if it could be hazardous to the user, but it doesn't seem to be harmful to Gedeon's health, so she too left it at that.
As for the mafia boss, Kate looks back with her normal expression, without changing the tone of her voice. She is slightly impressed by how well the butler is doing his job, and so were James, but that's a different story.
"True, but that's the criminal world, not how you should be in a normal relationship. I will have to apologize if you're alone for your own reasons."
Which, is kind of a jab to the side in pointing out that either the guy are not in a relationship, or his actions might cause problems to it sometime in the past or future. Either way the two of them took the cup of tea and sips it as Dieter gets back on his feet with the help of others, and together they advance towards the decided direction.
-
After a short moment of traveling, they reach what seems to be the aftermath of a battle. There were remains of vehicles, footprints, and other signs to confirm that the knights were at least in this area until they have arrived. Whatever attacked them doesn't seem to be here, or at least they have kept themselves hidden in someways.
On Dieter's request, James nods and attempt to scan the area, only to detect a gathering of mana in the area. He looked in the direction where he detected, only to be confused when he saw nothing in sight, and was considering if there are some sort of invisible enemies or that they are under effects of some sort of illusion. Kate however had a different idea, and whispered it in James' ear, who slaps his palm with his fist after realizing the possibility.
"Hm, Mr. Gerhardt, I don't think I see anything, whatever it is must have leave after noticing our arrival."
He said that, but if Dieter looks at the one wisp that are floating in the sky, he might notice it looking towards some trees. Another sign is that Mei Mei begins to jump towards one, and stops a small distance in front of it.
"There are many trees here blocking our visions, we must be careful when we travel... among them."
He says that as he head over and pats on Gwen's shoulder, deciding that the swordwoman would be a better choice than the spear using mage, and points her towards the undead servant under his command. Hopefully that's enough to serve as a hint, and she won't just take it as some sort of sexual harassment.
Right as he finish the last part of his sentence, Mei Mei would move as she was commanded, stomping the ground with enough force to create a light gust, and deliver a straight punch right at the trunk of one of the 'trees' that are close to the remains of the vehicle. The stomp serves as a means to create extra power, like how a rocket would ignite it's engines for extra push, the power is then transferred to the strike and sent right towards the target. However that is not all, it was not just a regular, powerful punch that the Jiangshi had delivered. Mei Mei would let her fist stop after the initial impact, letting the punch be a strike rather than a push, so that the force would not be wasted on a moving target. As the first strike hits, her left arm would be pulled back from the motion of the first, and delivers a second strike at the same target. If the first strike was not enough to defeat the target, the second will help to finish it off. And if the first strike was enough, the second will send the remains flying towards other targets near the first to do another extra set of damage.

As they all arrived in time and looked at the vehicle and hearing Dieter for one of them to take a look it was an obvious choice. Gedeon soon shrugged as everyone in the group soon looked at him expectantly which he soon answers, "Fine.. fine."
Walking forward he notice Gwen soon begins to move forward to make a parameter only for James to touch her shoulder. At first she turned to him with a cold stare and soon says, "What are you touching? That could be considered sexual harassment you know"
For a true moment it looked like she was going to cut the man up until she looked and finally realizes what James was pointing to as her eyes narrows in a why touch me face if its that. Regardless she would soon begin making a parameter and walked close to where Mei Mei would be standing as she readied her blade. Tamara got her knuckles ready as a click of bone could be heard as she took her one side looking around and noticing what James meant. All the while Gedeon moved closer with the blade in hand as he walked up to the vehicle. Now on closer inspection Gedeon noticed a symbol that reminded him of blades on a round table. If he remembered correctly he saw this symbol before on Gwen which must mean it belonged to her group. The scale stated they must of been here but where did they go exactly? Gedeon slowly made his way as he saw Mei Mei go into position and possibly figured out what was going on here. As Gedeon soon looked inside he saw it empty but noticed many vines all over even inside. As he noticed even weapons inside had vines all over, as he continued to look he noticed something extremely odd. The roof of the vehicle itself as it was turned over was completely ripped open like the vines went inside. So far nothing happened as he soon noticed one more thing, if only a moment a vine moved.
"Well, that explai-", Gedeon soon was stating until Mei Mei slam suddenly shook as all the vines below him reacted to the slam of her feet.
Gedeon curses as the vines inside the vehicle moved and charged towards him as he put his blade up and cut the vines only for it to suddenly attempt to grab on his sword.
"Well figures the trees are alive!", Gedeon shouts, as suddenly the vines began to wrap around him trying to pull him inside the vehicle and toward the opening of the roof.
Well this is happening Mei Mei Slam awakened the tree before them as the tree itself began to move but which Gwen moved quickly as her own blade cut at the tree which cut, most of it as her own blade suddenly stopped too.
"What the bloody... Don't let them touch you!! They can drain your mana!!", Gwen soon shouts as her own blade was being pulled as she used all her mana to put mana into her strength.
Well this was happening the tree targeted by Mei Mei would break from the suddenly attack not expecting it to be so strong it only screeched as it confirmed something quite right. That the trees were all alive, and it was not one but all the trees they were around them began to move as vines moved quickly and targeted everyone at once. Tamara was already on the ball as balls of flame were fired from her hand as the vines targeted her burned to a crisp. Never the less one could notice all over above the trees branches moved as well vines it would seem they were dealing with something quite magical.
"Great... just fucking great, James I don't think you got enough wisps to burn the entire forest do you?", Tamara soon stated as she was defending herself as she noticed a few vines coming towards Como suddenly.
"Como loo-", Tamara stated only for flames from a flame thrower came and hit the vines before they even touched Como.
Straight from the backpack the Butler had a flame thrower on him which itself came out of nowhere. He looked casual as he soon began to burn the nearby vines and kept them at bay from him and Como.
"Do not worry, Miss Asheborne!! As I stated Johnson has it all handled!!", Como soon stated as he soon put his cup of tea down and took out an AK-47.
"I do not believe a gun would work for this situation Mr. Falcon.", Johnson soon stated as a matter of fact.
"Nonsense, it is the perfect chance!", Como soon stated as he picked up and aimed.... above?
All while they were still busy why in the world would Como would do this if the others took a notice and look up they would see something move and a bit of a flicker above. If they took notice then they would figure it out quite easily.
"Ah I see Mr. Falcon, indeed it is.", Johnson soon looked up as Como soon fired his AK-47 which made a large noise.

Dieter wasn't convinced that all was as clear as the doctor said, and that turned out to be the right call to make. This was realized when he noticed the wisps creeping around, and him subtly giving cues to Gwen. He didn't let on that he knew, realizing now that they were trying to fool whatever was here into thinking that they hadn't yet caught on. So he played the part, right up until the vampire struck one of the trees. Then all hell broke loose. Between unearthly shrieking, scything branches, and free-moving vines, it was clear that they didn't wander into any ordinary grove. Some kind of dryad, perhaps? Whatever the case, they could do study after the danger had been neutralized.
He immediately jumped backwards away from the vines seeking to grasp at him. After seeing what they did to that warmachine, he wasn't eager to see what they could do to a person. His gun flashed as bullets shot at the tendrils creeping on his position the fastest, buying a little bit of time while he hooked the scale into a holster on his backpack opposite of the spear. It came out next. Something capable of hacking would be the order of the day here. Since the Lance had a flattened head and not a conical one, it was just as good for slashing as it was thrusting. Mathor found this out the hardway, and whatever these plant-beasts were would very soon be joining him in that unfortunate knowledge.
Lively fires licked at the corners of his vision from a flamethrower produced from seemingly nowhere by Como's butler, and produced on very short notice at that. Gerhardt didn't even bother to ask, this was probably one of the least strange things they'd encounter before they got out of this place. He kept the spear in its shortened state and, instead, focused on swinging it one-handed like an assegai so that the leaf-shaped head could be used to tear through any vines and branches that tried to swipe at him or anyone nearby. The latter becoming more useful because he moved backwards slowly towards his allies, that way no one could get separated or left behind.
"Stay close and watch each other's backs!" Dieter cried out. If this entire chunk of forest was alive, the trees could likely bury them under their superior numbers. Possibly literally. Strong as he was, having a tree fall on him would probably be extremely debilitating. Not to mention the fact that the area was now on fire, that made it more dangerous for both sides. However, using it was probably well worth the risk. Doubtlessly, it'd strike fear into these clearly flammable enemies.
"Johnson, keep that flamethrower going. We'll cover you." He shouted. The flamer there was probably their best bet of not getting overwhelmed. If these trees did eat mana like Gwen warned, then they might not be able to rely on spells to provide the support they needed. The conventional method was much safer. Meanwhile he worked to protect the butler, hacking apart any foliage that tries to creep up behind the cone of fire that he was laying down. His weapon was magically conductive the way the swords of the other warriors, so he wasn't nearly as afraid to strike their foes directly. They wouldn't be able to siphon out his numen through the weapon; it would take a direct hit. Not nearly so easy.
What struck him as odd was the mob boss shooting up into the air at, apparently, no provocation. The man seemed too competent to be wasting ammo for the sake of it, so that drew his gaze upwards to...whatever was ducking around up there. It was moving fast enough that not even his eyes could identify what was up there through the thick, green canopy. He considered it likely that it was somehow relevant to the monsters attacking them at the moment, so he didn't hesitate to snap a few shots off at it from his Luger to aid Como in trying to bring it down; having never dropped it from his primary hand specifically for purposes such as this one.

"I would prefer if you have more confidence in my virtue, after all, I have successfully completed Anubis' trial, proving both my ability and just."
James stood and watches the battle as it continues, re-organizing his thoughts for his next move before putting it to action. According to Gwen, the trees can absorb mana, so direct contact with them seems like a bad idea. It's a good thing it's not a very quick drain, seeing how Gwen with the weakest pool of mana could still resist them, so there's plenty of ways to do this.
Kate also noticed this, and cast a ward on everyone, which should provide the protection enough to stop the mana draining property of these monsters. After that's completed, she nods to Mei Mei who had paused on her attacks, allowing the Jiangshi to continue her assault. Mei Mei, though did not continue to attack until Kate's spell was completed, was able to protect herself using quick movements to sidestep attacks, and her sharp claws to cut apart the coming vines. Moving or not, they at still similar to trees, so as long as you can cut one down you would be able to do the same here.
As along one comes towards her, she waves her arms in a circular motion and pushes away the vines with the side of her arm, then grabs the bundle of fiber and uses them to pull herself towards the attacking plant. Powerful vines or not, the technique allows her to avoid much of the impact and force, and pushing the rest away with her own strength. Now with the combined momentum of the pull and her own jumping strength, she launches right at her target for another powerful kick, transferring her entire force and weight onto the rooted plant then jumping back away to prepare for another attack. While this happens, the figure in the air was spotted, friend or foe they should end the battle soon before anything else happens.
"Leave the ground to me. The wisps are not actual fire, they're concentrations of spirits and light, they can't cause any flames."
In other words, you guys deal with the air. After answering Tamara's question, James opens his tome and points his palm towards the trees before them, ready to cast a spell that he had obtained from the Book of Coming Forth by Day.
"Spirits of the unjust, fear my words! The lake shall judge your souls, weight your deeds! Let the flames cleanse your body of the unrighteousness, and prepare you for the underworld! Judgment of the Lake of Flames!!"
From his hand, what seemingly endless amount of bright, powerful flames pours out into the area. What James essentially did was that he summoned the lake of flames depicted in the Book of the Coming Forth by Day, the lake that burns the evil, and nourish the good. Whatever these trees are, if they're attacking for no reason then they are certainly considered evil, and would surely work on them. The lake are shown to burn as a neutral state, thus it would not run out, and would continue to burn until James stops the spell. With this much affected range, not only would it work on the trees before them, but possibly a huge part of the entire forest if there are more evil beings lurking in it.
The only worry here is Mei Mei, but at least in Egyptian culture the undead is not necessary evil. Being a servant under his control, the Jiangshi should be able to avoid being damaged by the flames so that would not be a problem.

With the mana training trees which would be considered treants in some mythological lore, their attack of the forest moved against the group before them. They looked just like normal trees that is until one notices they had faces even wooden in looks. With the usage of fire from the others kept the vines at bay as Gedeon and Gwen were both being trained of their mana, Gwen more in danger being with such small amount compared to others she would soon drop to her knees as she tried to struggle. This would continue as the sound of gun fire was going up toward the sky from Como and Kate's protections spells helping the vines from even getting closer. Mei Mei's continious attacks would soon free Gedeon and Gwen as he managed to drag himself out of the vines that were trying to pull him inside the vehicle. Rushing Gedeon quickly grabbed Gwen quickly then moved toward where Kate and James would be.
Gedeon turned to James noticing what he was summoning and then hears the spell then comments, "Lake of fire... nice."
Of course the flames of James attack would soon release itself as his incantation would soon begin to engulf the trees. As they would burn the trees, they were not actually evil no they were in fact neutral in disposition as the flames... were not effective as they should. Yet the Treants still burned as the flames of the Lake regardless would turn the wood into darkened husks as it destroyed them. All the well in the sky Como Falcon continued to fire until finally a small voice soon cries out, "Ok!! Ok!! Please stop!!"
Como stopped firing as even the treants didn't move either, in fact everyone would stop when a little small light from the sky came down and soon bowed before them all.
"Please stop hurting my friends it was only a little joke!!", the small voice would squeck which they would notice a very very small Fairy the size as one palm.
"I surrender!! You can have your friends back too!!", the little fairy stated as suddenly the vines all over below soon revealed over two dozen men wearing uniforms of the Camlann Knights as well two recognizable men who were at the command center earlier before they went against Mathor.
"Knight-Commanders...!", Gwen soon stated as the vines soon gave way releasing them all.
All the well Gedeon soon comments, "Huh, Mr. Gerhardt, Mr. Gransela... your both up."
Of course Gedeon rather the experts handle this situation as he managed to finally relax, with Como, Johnson and Tamara near Dieter would soon finally relax. Of course Tamara turned to Johnson and soon asks, "May I request how you always prepared?"
The Butler simply turns off the flame thrower now practically out of fuel now, which meant practically useless now.
"My Dear Ms. Asheborne, that is a Butler's secret.", Johnson replies as he soon took out and gave Como more tea.
Oh course the biggest question here will be what happened, who was the fairy and the others who were captured soon to begin to stir.

The fight was going surprisingly well, Dieter was happy to note. Despite the heavy numerical advantage of the foe, they were able to hold their ground. He noticed the faces on several of these trees and wasn't sure what to make of that, assuming them to be some kind of fairy and not merely animated vegetation. But then, why would they attack so wantonly? Sadly, it was almost impossible to know for sure when it came to these otherwordly folk. They simply did not think as people did. All he knew was they meant to bring them harm, so they were fully justified to do it back to defend themselves.
Eventually, they managed to shake the nerve of whatever was above them. James's spell helped with that immensely, burning the imposing foes with the flames of judgement. A fascinating thing to watch, being that it only ignited treants that were attacking them and not those that were idle. The latter were completely unharmed, as was their group; the flames washing over them with little more trouble than the dryness of the air accompanying the backdraft. The others were burned into cinder, not even charcoal left of their remnants. Truly, magic was as wonderful of a thing as it was terrifying. At the end of this cataclysm they were joined by the odd being they saw up above once it, correctly, realized that there was no way it could hope to match them in strength nor arcane might. Evidently, this was the 'boss' of this operation. It appeared to be one of the more 'modern' interpretations of a fairy. Tiny, glowing, flight-capable, high pitched voice, and childish disposition. Gerhardt stopped attacking and motioned for the others to do the same all the while giving the tiny fey an extremely fierce glare.
"Check the troops, make sure they're alive and in one piece. If you can, check the for any residual spells. Hexes, glamors, and the like." He said to one of the others. Possibly Kate, having been the teams defacto medic back in Egypt. She would also be the one best suited to divining if they had been ensorcelled by any kind of sidhe magics. He wanted to keep an eye on this being in case it decided to pull more fast ones, so he couldn't do it himself. It definitely wasn't out of character for a fairy to cough up some missing 'friends', only to have them immediately go for the throat of their savior due to some kind of mind-altering dweomer. Several stories covered this, many more surely did that have been lost to time since. No chances, not on their home turf.
"Your 'joke' got many of your friends harmed, little one. It was extremely irresponsible of you, and you surely must have known that it could happen before you chose to have them attack a group of armed men. You're a poor leader, to have lead them into meaningless harm and death, and you let them down in doing so." Gerhardt immediately said to chastise the creature. Initial guess was to say pixie, but they'd see. A bit of emotion slipped into the man's voice as he said this, because this very thing was a feeling he knew all too well. Possibly from just earlier today. "Now. Who are you, and what type of fairy are you?"
As annoyed as he was, trying to talk sense into this thing likely wouldn't go very far. Again, alien mindset, but it was worth a shot. More pressing was to drive home that it wasn't acceptable and that they were hardly harmless travelers so that it, and anyone it talked to, wouldn't be very fast to try it again. Fairies tended to respect strength and tenacity, and he wanted to be sure to set the bar for those fields high as soon as possible so that they'd have less interference by wandering rabble-rousers down the road. Finally, he hoped to try and get some information out of it. As the first native they found, it could point them to the higher-ranked fey and help them out if they played their cards right.

Evil creatures or not, most beings have some level of sins, and that contributes to the damage that the lake of fire would do. Here alone they would already be committing crimes of 'I have not attacked any man,' 'I am not a man of deceit,' and 'I have terrorized none.' These are only three things out of the 42 Negative Confessions of the Egyptian culture, more than enough for James to declare them as sinners. That said, if they no longer wish to attack, there's no need to wipe them out either. He looks at the pleading fairy, wondering how much of their words and identity are real. With a wave of his hands the lake of fire would disappear as if it had never existed before, leaving only the damages to James' enemies as evidences that the spell was used.
"Here's a saying for you... All Fun and Games until Somebody Loses an Eye. Now perhaps you would like to give it more thoughts before pulling something like that on someone else next time. Lets hear some names, introduce yourself if you may. But watch your tongue, we don't look kindly at liars. Kate, come over here and talk to our little friend."
He decided to let a less threatening figure do the talking, while he himself goes to collect the remaining ashes of the trees. These are mythical creatures, bathed in the flames of judgment, so they could very well become useful materials in all sorts of situations. While the professor goes off to do that, Kate comes over and looks at the fairy with a sort of look that a parent gives to their children that has been naughty, but speaks with a calm voice to show that they are not angry at the fairies.
"That's why you should not pick on others, you never know what they might do in return. Never do things to others that you would not like to be done against you, because things that you don't like, would probably not be liked by others either. Now tell us a bit about yourself, what's your name? Do you live around here?"
A more friendly approach might be useful after seeing that terrorizing spell just now, at least more so than having James threaten them to give answers. That said, Mei Mei is standing at an angle that Kate couldn't see, scratching at the remains of one of the moving trees with her claws, and having an emotionless look towards the fairy. Any more threat they need, this should be enough.
As for the other soldiers, Kate had checked up on them before she came over, and they seem to be unharmed. They seem to be tired, with their mana drained out of them, possibly from the effects of the trees they had fought earlier. A quick show shows that they're not under the effects of any other magic, and are generally conscious and can think straight.

As the vines allowed all the captured soldiers go Quintin was one of the first to awaken as he was helped up.
"What in the.. what happened?", Quintin soon would ask as he took a good look around not recognizing anything at all.
The Fairy itself was actually quite terrified from James specifically on the power he commanded, in fact much more then it could even do. Only a few would know such magic in this realm and it was not one of them.
"I am so so so sorry!! When the sky suddenly opened up and dropped many people all over the island, I thought we were being invaded!!", the fairy took sweaked as it turned and saw Mei Mei watching the fairy with a emotionless tone.
All well this was happening, Gedeon, Tamara, Como, and Johnson began to check up on everyone who was knocked out it seemed at least two dozen Camlann knights all of them from the central camp were unscatched though there was a notable exception with Knight-Commander Boris not among the group. As they would fully begin to get a feel of their surroundings the first thing was asked by Quintin, "Does anyone know where the bloody are we?"
Another good question as Gwen would respond, "A magical forest of some kind, Mr. Gerhardt figured it must where were Morgan La Fey is."
Quintin was first to soon respond, "So we are in a unknown region and the first thing I remember was the trees suddenly attacke-"
"Oh don't worry James pretty much handled that practically single handily. By the way, your becoming quite powerful too there.", Gedeon would answer that and the second part of his sentence directed at James.
"Who are you?", Quintin first asked which Gwen finishs, "He seems to be a companion to Mr. Gerhardt's group, he suddenly showed up dropping from a plane and then fought off uhh who did you even fight?"
"Uhh some guy named Arawn? I believe a God of sorts, he hit hard as well..", Gedeon then finished which had both Gwen and Quintin along the other Camlann dumbstruck.
Actually they been surprised time and time again, they expected things from Dieter's group but to have friends that summon gods, and warriors who can fight on par with gods was completely absurd. Well on the task on hand with Kate coming to talk to the fairy who seemed less threatening then James though Mei Mei being close made the fairy fully corporate.
"I am sorry, please don't kill me it won't happen again!!", the fairy begged once more and sounded genuine.
When the question about her name she soon replies, "Uhh its hard to say its a long and drawn out name you can just me Mumiai!! Uhh Yes and no I usually play around here on free time I actually live to the north where the Seelie Court is at- oops not suppose to say that!"
Well that alone would give enough information on where she is from but the next would be where in the world they were and exactly what. From what was stated first Fairy stated Island and then Seelie Court which meant they had to be on some fairy land or some sort.
"Seelie Court you don't say.", Tamara soon commented hearing that which could explain the 'game' the fairy had would look innocent to them but completely not to others.

Dieter wasn't very impressed by the fairy, nor by its seemingly sincere apology. As he had told the Prime Minister when contacted back in Germany, he had dealt with these types before. They weren't as common on Earth as they used to be, but they still showed up from time to time. Their pranks and child-like cruelty were literally the stuff of legends. But, as predicted, they had the being cowed for the moment, and that was good enough. He let the rest of them converse with the diminutive entity while he caught Quintin and the others up to speed.
"I do believe that we're in Avalon, Quintin. The mythical representation of it, at any rate. How this correlates to the 'real' location, I do not know, but I think its safe to assume that it will bear little resemblance outside of the shared name. My suspicion is that stories and tales over the years shaped this place into what it is now, though it wouldn't surprise me if it more closely resembled Glastonbury and other parts of the United Kingdom as they were in the Middle Ages. Suffice to say, those areas look quite different in the modern day than they used to a thousand years ago. " That answered one question, then he moved onto who Gedeon had fought. "Your foe was Arawn, another character from one version of Arthurian Lore. King of a spirit world, if memory serves. I don't recall him being so...demonic, but again, the mutation of legends over the years could account for that. Or bitterness at being forgotten, these beings do have free will of their own."
Both theories made sense, after all, the Arthurian 'gods' could be just as mad they fell out of favor as the Egyptian ones. No doubt, that'd make anyone pretty unhappy. It wasn't beyond reason that this same anger could have made him sign on with Mathor's plan, something to bring them back into the limelight.
"I have some good news for you, Knight-Commander, and some bad. The good news is that I slayed Mathor. There is one foe that won't be bothering us again." Gerhardt didn't seem very happy despite delivering this commendable fact, his expression was still gravely serious. Mostly due to the bad news which was unveiled next. "The bad news happens to be that Morgan is not only unsealed, but awake. We had a short battle of minds when I was trying to ascertain if she was truly here or not; she was, and I received more than I bargained for in the attempt. Yet, the intelligence is invaluable all the same. So, that is where we stand at the moment."
Along with this, he outlined where his men were, where the civilians were, and where the remnants of Mathor's army were. Their immediate plans, to go meet up with his men to the 'right' were also laid down, as this would bring all of their forces together again and give them the greatest safety and amount of options. Around this point the pixie also coughed up where the Seelie were, though he gave his comrades a wary glance to warn them about trusting this thing's word out of hand. Tricksters, as was made very clear prior, couldn't very well be expected to speak truthfully even in the best of circumstances. Also at this point, he noticed that Boris was missing.
"Wait a moment, where is Boris?" he asked. The adventurer quickly made a headcount, coming up with 24 men and then Quintin making 25. Some more were still crawling out of the underbrush to join their comrades, but these all appeared to be grunts or NCO's. Indeed, the other knight-commander was missing. The man wasn't exactly likeable, but they needed all the manpower they could get, and leaving anyone behind wasn't something he made a habit of on top of that. For the most part he allowed Kate to question Mumiai, but he did ask it one of his own this turn: "There should be a fat man with this group, he carries a walking stick and has a few medals on his uniform. Have you seen him?"

After he was finished in collecting the ashes in a bottle, James nods at Gedeon, replying to his comments.
"Mostly thanks to the spells recorded in the tome. The book itself is a powerful artifact written in the far ancient time, so it's natural that it contains powers much greater than anything we see in the modern times. That said, compared to your own growth in physical ability, I think it is not that much of a surprise. If you have time then bring the gold to me, I'll see what I can do with it."
Referring to the blessed gold that Gedeon had received as his reward back in Egypt, James perhaps have his own idea on how he can change it into a weapon rather than relying on machines to do the work, which might destroy the mythical properties in the metal.
"The trees that attacked apparently have no ill intention... if the fairy over there is to be trusted. It did mention the Seelie Court, so perhaps you would like to look into that to check up on your lost allies, Knight-Commander."
"For no we have no worries about Morgan's mental powers, the shields that I can create are more than enough to keep us protected unless she tries anything more powerful."
Kate goes around and creates a shield that covers the newly discovered group, so that they wouldn't have to deal with a bunch of brain washed armed forces in the future. James himself writes down a few things in his tome, after using the lake of fire spell for the first time, so that he could further refine and control it in the future. The remains of the trees should also be able to be used for purification and other similar tasks, as the flames would have cleansed them of any filth and sins, turning them into a more holy material. For now they are kept in containers until James could figure out a use for them.
"Hm, the other Knight-Commander... I would have to say I don't like him all that much, but perhaps the fairies have seen him around in the forest? They certainly know their way around this place better than anyone of us, so it won't hurt to get some information from what... how goes it? Mumiai."
James turns slightly and looks at the floating fairy who seems to have accidentally spoke too much about what they came from, but hey it seems to know their way around, perfect when they need to find out more about the place.
