In most parts of Zalboria the militia are strictly defensive troops mustered in times of war and unrest only; this is not the case in Kollelkost. While the trevlu does perform that function, it also covers non-professional soldiers who join in on seasonal raids and expeditions. Kasorymor's laws differ highly from that of the mainland, and men wanted there are often able to find solace in the rugged frontier. For that reason the trevlu can encompass foreigners, bandits, run away serfs or exiles from the other clans, and citizens from the clan's holdings seeking opportunity. While given a small payment to cover expenses, most join out of a sense of duty or hope of finding loot. Usually both.
Compared to other militia their equipment is more modest. Their guns do not use bolt-action mechanism, favoring older lever styles. The Pencast carbine has been used by the clan for several decades and is favored due to its ease of production, use, and maintenance. A standard length version of the Pencast does exist, but typically is only used by hunters and sentries - the carbine is favored by light and naval infantry for its reduced weight and smaller size. The gun holds 8 rounds in a tubular magazine located above the barrel. The armor commonly sported by the trevlu consists of a sleeveless overcoat worn atop normal clothing to protect the soldier from the elements, and overtop of that is a vest of rubber strips fastened to a hardened leather backing. In essence, a modern form of kikko or brigandine armor that is able to stop bullets at a range and some melee weapons. It's also waterproof, keeping it from getting soaked and dragging the soldier down into the ocean should he be thrown overboard as with the ammunition. The preferred melee weapon for the soldiers is the boarding axe most men and women of the sea carry on their belts. With a bladed head on one side and a spike on the other, its as much a tool as a fearsome weapon; useful on enemy ships and their own. This item closely resembles a tomahawk and can be thrown. Supposing cavalry or an infantry charge are imminent, the carbines also possess a folding bayonet like many of the clan's weapons that can be quickly fixed to deal with situations unsuitable for axes.
By way of training trevluyow troops surpass most militia, everyone is given some rudimentary training in how to fight after reaching adulthood; supposing they had never been given the ropes while growing up. A tradition of fighting and combat usually reinforces this, to make them rugged and strong even in the face of professional troops that would usually outclass these minutemen.
Gwithyas Squad - 1 point

20x Boarding Axe (Replaces club)
Compared to the trevlu, the gwithysi (singular: gwithyas) are the professional soldiers of the clan. In times of peace their numbers are composed of volunteers and act the role of men-at-arms, watching other towns, cities, and other important areas. Their numbers are bolstered by conscription when Kasorymor marches to war. Upon joining, recruits go through basic training and then receive equipment and posting. In an ironic twist of fate, most gwithysi see less combat than their trevlu comrades. Even so they're quite capable should the need arise. As a municipal garrison they don't carry rifles most of the time, but shotguns, allowing them to clear crowds with less-than-lethal munitions, or buckshot if it is truly necessary. For melee engagements these longarms have bayonets, but for mobs they have lead-weighted clubs to deal with any unruly suspects. Two men in each squad are assigned a Tanbellen, or "bomb" pistols, which is a naval flaregun modified to fire special grenades; these can be armor piercing shaped charges, HE for clearing enemy troops, or even anti-riot loadouts. It goes without saying they can still function as a normal flaregun, as well, for signaling. With that they carry a variety of thrown explosives and a seven-shot revolver for situations where compact firepower is a concern. In a community their role is varied, from a police force to men-at-arms, usually what they do depends on the daily circumstance.
In times of war they can trade the shotguns out for fullsized Pencast musket, making them more than a match for other infantry. In that case, the tanbellen can also be swapped for a light machine gun while the clubs are exchanged for the clan's trademarked axes.
Kasor Squad - 1 point
15 Man Unit
Training: Superior
Armor: Sleeved leather buffcoat, Ballistic nylon vest with aluminum plate inserts, Steel helmet with visor
Equipment:
15x .45 Corentyn Suppressed Revolver Carbine
12x .45 Bryok Revolver
3x "Tanbellen" Pistol
30x Grenades (Any variety)
15x Battle Axe
15x Boarding Axe
1x Backpack Radio
Optional:
15x .56 Pencast lever-action carbine (Replaces Corentyn)
- 15x Folding Spike Bayonet
1x .303 Plobmdybri LMG + Bryok Revolver (Replaces Tanbellen Pistols and Carbines)
The kasors are the elite infantrymen of the clan, if the name was no give away. Typically operating as marines, they're also prized for their talents as light infantry. With good training and good weaponry, facing them isn't a fun prospect for many. Entry into the kasors is a seen as an honor, and prospective members face a grueling trial before even being accepted into the fold. The following training regimen makes the resulting soldiers tough and fearless to the point of being unbreakable, and the fact that many of them go into battle taking draughts produced from several local plants only reinforces that further. Other nations refer to these soldiers as 'berserkers', and rightfully so; they'll gladly fight to the death against any foe, and oftentimes shrug off wounds that wound incapacitate a normal man. Their reputation is fearsome, and it is from them that the parent clan receives much of its own acclaim.
The kasors are fans of melee and close in engagements as is to be expected with a background like that, and have a bad habit of getting the drop on enemy ships and encampments in the dead of night with their silenced carbines. They use the same caliber as their sidearms for ease of production in the island demesne, but the particular variation used for the longarm is subsonic and elongated. Combined with an integral suppressor, hearing the gun firing beyond 50 yards is quite difficult. Designed with high mobility use in mind, the Corentyn comes with a folding stock to make it easy to carry in dense terrain or water. In a pinch, the carbines can be loaded with normal pistol-grade ammunition, but noise and decreased chamber pressure makes that an ill advised choice when it isn't strictly necessary.
As tends to be the case with many of the clan's units, they are not made nor equipped for pitched battles on land. Their kit reflects thus, as does that of most others save the Gwith. While very effective at its job, the Corentyn hasn't entirely caught on, with some squads preferring the older Pencast carbine for use.
Support Elements:
Fire Support Squad – 1 point
7 Man Unit
Training: Regular
Armor: Sleeveless leather buffcoat, Rubber brigandine vest, Steel helmet with visor
Equipment:
1x 10-pounder Dynamite 'Pack Gun' (Heavy Weapon, Howitzer.)
5x .56 Pencast lever-action carbine
- 5x Folding Spike Bayonet
5x .45 Beyok Revolver
10x Smoke Grenades
1x Backpack Radio
Optional:
10x Grenades (Any Variety)
Fire support squads, as the name implies, give long ranged fire support to aid and assist conventional infantry squads in battle. Air guns have long since been popular choices for weaponry in Clan Kasorymor, and the principles of pneumatics have been pushed into service amongst both the army and navy. These breech-loading howitzers lob high explosive shells without muzzle flash and little sound, and can be used to fire directly or indirectly. Because they don't have to withstand the harsh pressures brought about by powder combustion, the frames and barrels of these cannons can end up being very light compared to their more conventional counterparts that have to be solid enough to weather the repeated explosions that are needed to throw ordnance. This was the primary reason that the gun was adopted; the light weight. These guns are known as 'pack guns' because they can be broken down into 5 parts and packed up for ease of transportation. The individual parts are actually light enough that a man can carry one piece on his own without being a significant hindrance, something of an unusual feat for artillery of the era. The advantage to this is that the crew can reposition quickly and put their guns in the most opportune spots that slower towed guns would be too slow to reach, or would not be able to reach at all such as on the top of a mountain cliff or beyond a river.
Another key benefit of the dynamite gun is that it allows the use of blasting gelatin that would explode in the barrel from the shock of powder combustion, meaning that regular artillery can't use it. While not as powerful as modern explosives point-for-point, this nitrocellulose jelly is very cheap and easy to produce compared to other explosives being pushed into use, which are not so easy to manufacture and would thus strain the industrial might of the island nation all the more. In a pinch, stones can be smoothed and fed into the gun to be used as cannonballs if no real ammo is available, which is another benefit that comes from pneumatic propulsion. This makeshift round shot has been used in several sieges since the gun was rolled out decades ago.
The crew consists of 7 men. One commander, three guard/spotter, two loaders, and one gunner. Technically two men could work it if casualties are sustained. The artillery piece has a forward gun shield to protect the soldiers manning it, optional wheels to tow or push it once deployed, and a sizable compressed air tank below the barrel.
Land Vehicles:
Avarhek Light Tank - 5 points
Amphibious Vehicle
Crew: 6
Training: Standard
Armor: Steel Armor
Equipment:
1x Turret-mounted 2-pounder cannon
1x Coaxial .303 machine gun
2x 2-tube smoke dispensers
The Avarhek is Clan Kasorymor's attempt at entering armored warfare. The fact they live on scattered islands, and tend to fight on coasts domestic and foreign both, necessitated an amphibious design over a standard tank. Many sacrifices had to be made for this to happen: chief amongst them being the small gun and somewhat thinner armor than other contemporary designs. Despite several setbacks in the prototype stage of the project, the finished model is a rugged and robust machine able to be launched from the deck of submarine and traverse both coastal and inland waterways. Several hollow pontoons along the front and side of the tank provide much of its buoyancy, the increase in size and bulk being a necessary evil to keep it afloat in turbulent waters. However, when operating on land for long periods these flotation devices can be easily removed, lowering its profile down to a much more respectable measurement that wouldn't be out of place on a light tank.
Avatreusi APC - 3 points
Amphibious Vehicle
Crew: 3
Training: Standard
Armor: Steel Armor
Equipment:
1x Turret-mounted .303 machine gun
2x 2-tube smoke dispensers
Capacity:
30 Infantry
Based on the Avarhek, this vehicle is made using a stripped down and refitted chassis from the clan's main tank. The turret is taken out and so are many of its internal components to make room for a compartment in the back that allows for a squad of soldiers to ride the APC safely into battle. The interior is rather cramped, which makes it not very popular for infantry, but it does retain the same amphibious capabilities of its parent design. By way of defense it relies heavily on the soldiers it carries for support, but it does have a small rotating cupola-style turret above the passenger's seat that houses a .303 machine gun for suppressing hostile troops. The Avatreusi's pontoons can also be taken off for use inland to slim its profile, making it harder to target in battle.
JMS:
Souder - 5 points
Junior Mobile Suit
Training: Standard
Armor: Steel Armor
Equipment:
1x Hand-carried 1.40in Semi-automatic rifle
2x Shoulder-mounted steel shields
- 2x Smoke Dispensers
1x Hip-mounted 3-tube grenade rack (Can be of any variety)
1x JMS-sized Boarding Axe (Holstered on right hip)
The souder is a basic JMS designed to support infantry and vehicle advances in battle. The name means soldier, and it is a very bare bones model that epitomizes "grunt unit". The rifle used by the souder is little more than an AA flak cannon taken from its mounting and modified to shoot faster, being one example. Perhaps the most complex feature it boasts is the capability to fire its grenades from the rifle for added versatility.
