Swlwan noted her surprise, and looked rather quizzically back at her.
"Is something the matter?" He asked her while waiting for the physical copy of the document to be brought forth. When it arrived he'd take and awkwardly hold her pen and sign his own name below hers: Swlwan, diplomat of the Hierarchy, third in rank, subcaste foreign-species ambassadorial corps, first rank. Evidently these people didn't have last names, and instead identified themselves from one another with their caste and job.
The Kelp would also notice that Norman was acting strangely even still, Swlwan raised a hand up and motioned over one of his guards. It would look harmless enough. It wasn't, he made a secret gesture with both his thumbs that signified all 3 of his escorts to be wary. The planties were always on their toes, and he was not taking chances. Even so one of the power armored troops came over, the beckoning was legitimate, it just concealed a deeper motive.
"Scan this and bring me a copy in our language." The diplomat said to his bodyguard, in plain English so the human company he was keeping wouldn't be further alarmed. The trooper nodded and returned to his shuttle to do just that, coming back not too long after with an identical copy of the treaty; just in Kelp-speak. Their language was horridly complex by human standards, a maelstrom of squiggled lines and dashes that looked like something a child would do at random. The closest human equivalent would be the various Arabian scripts.
Swlwan would sign his name again at the bottom, then pass it over to Ilriana to do the same. "Once these matching documents have been signed...we can consider the treaty valid."

Norman watched as the alien in power armor walked towards the table. He was nervous not for the aliens but that of the Nobility of the Empire. Give them too much and they will rebel, is what we was taught. Over the years he knew the corruption of the Nobility and saw only people who needed to be purged from the human race. He will object to such a proposal, but couldn't do much about it. The Ambassador was in command, she was at fault.... she is the traitor.
As the Kelp returned with the other document, it was soon pushed to her taking about a pen she was about sign it.
'With this, another war is averted for the Empire.', she soon thought as the pen was coming down to sign.
Only for the XO Norman Ousto take out his linear pistol and aimed it at her head.
"Do not sign that just yet Ambassador Ilriana.", Norman soon stated.
"XO, what is the meaning of this?!!", Ilriana soon shouted at the man beside her.
"Nothing much, just please edit out about the Rabona Group in that treaty.", Norman soon replied dead serious.
"But the Rabona Group have no military to speak of!! They advancements are beneficial to the Empire and the Iltruskar Hierarchy!! Not once they have tried to do anything wrong!!", Ilriana shouted at the man.
"But their controlled Noble House!! Not to mention their ties to the Duchy of Aurlia and its Duchy Alliance!! Your making the enemies of the Empire stronger by this signature!! Do you not realize the heir to the Rabona Group is also the future Duke of Aurlia?!!", Norman shouted at the woman.
"That maybe so but Aurlia has always been loyal to the Empire under House Avenor. They were the ones who overthrew House Aurlia from seceding from the Empire during the Rialeen War!! I know what I am doing!! Making peace for the good of the Empire! With this no war will come and will ease tensions, what your doing is treason!!", Ilriana said back she was pressing a button already for emergency cases which would signal to other Imperial guards in the station.
"Treason?!! What your doing for the Empire is making the Nobility who need to be purged more power!! Your the traitor for the good of the Empire I ask you edit Rabona out!! That and all Nobles should be exterminated, for a true united human race!!", Norman then finished.
"As Ambassador and sent by the Empress Cirenia the First in her Name... I will not do as you say!!", Ilriana soon finished in defiance.
"Fine then... then just die.", Norman soon finish as he was about to pull the trigger the door open showing fully power armored humans aiming their linear rifles at Norman, lasers pointed at him.
"XO Norman Ousto your under arrest!! Harm the Ambassador or will we shoot you.", one of the security guards soon shouted with their guns trained on him.
"Stand down!! I know what I am doing is for the good of the Empire!!", Norman shouted.
"And what I am doing is for the peace of the Empire.", Ilriana soon finished as she signed her name on the document thus validating it.
"Bitch!!", Norman shouted as he fired his gun at her head killing her outright.
The Security Guards then fired at Norman shooting him to death.
"Quickly check on the Ambassador she might be able to still be saved!! As well check if our guests are alright!!", the lead Security Guard soon shouted.

All that happening caught the Iltruskar envoy completely by surprise, not even they were expecting this kind of chaos in their own ranks. It was almost literally unknown to them for a species to be so fractured, even their own people in the earliest days of civilization weren't so futility divisive.
Swlwan went to draw a concealed pistol on his person to try and turn the gunfight around, but his bodyguards moved faster.
(Protect the ambassador!) Their voices boomed through mechanical augmentation in their powered armor, in the Kelp's native language. Two lunged forward and yanked the diplomat bodily behind them, while the third drew his own pistol and held it firmly at Ousto.
Even so it ended up to be too late, with humanity's envoy shot right as reinforcements arrived.
"What is the meaning of this?! How could you let a saboteur into a meeting this important? Do your people know nothing of security screening?!" The soldier out of that trio not protecting Swlwan exclaimed, while one of the others radioed this back to the Kelp fleet immediately. Never one to be kept in the back for too long, the diplomat worked his way out from behind the screen of his troops and moved around the table to stand over and examine the body of Ilriana. While he knew something of human biology, he could not tell much at all for their internal structures.
"Is she dead? Send for medics!" For now his mind whirled, this could well change the face of everything. It was definitely a diplomatic incident in the making, that was for sure. Provided this didn't make the Hierarchy want to break off relations immediately, it would make a nice impression to seem concerned.

As the Security lowered their weapons they soon check on Norman's body to double check he was dead as others moved to check on the Ambassador.
As one of the security guards moved up to Ilriana and noticed her still breathing quickly he took out an needle to inject her with a form of bio nano machines that begun to repair to keep her brain alive. He soon shouted, "Quickly I need a medic and life support!! We can keep her alive if we move quickly!!"
"Sorry about that I am Chief of Security of the Stars bane, Lieutenant Cooper. Security Screening is normally extremely accurate, and I am in fact shocked that the XO would do this. He has been in the Imperial Navy for over three decades and completely loyal to the Empire. I do hope this doesn't trouble the treaty... as for the XO... he has been treated to a traitor's death. We will be doing a full investigation on the matter at hand.", the Chief soon said.
Just then the medic came through with a special stretcher which itself was the life support unit.
"Quickly get her on the life support we only have a matter of an hour to recover the Ambassador before the rest of her body shuts down!!", the medic soon shouted the him and his medical team moved and took the Ambassador away.
"Sir the Captain is coming sir!!", the Security guard who checked on the Ambassador soon reported.
"Well he better get over here we have a diplomatic crisis, and I want to keep this form turning into a war of any kind.", the Chief then said as he walked to the Kelp unarmed.
"I do hope all of you are alright?", the Chief soon asked.

Swlwan watched with a lot of interest, actually, in how these people went about treating their own people. These nanites...he'd have to remember those. He stepped back soon enough when the medical team arrived and took up a position between his soldiers, who now had their assault rifles out and ready. Not pointed at anyone, mind you, but there wasn't a doubt they'd be able to bring them around fast if it came down to it. This was made worse by the fact the humans had 0 idea what these guns did, it could be very bad very fast.
The diplomat and what seemed to be the head of his security detailed chattered back and forth in their native language, the gurgling tongue all but indecipherable to the untrained ear. For a minute it seemed like they didn't hear the chief, or ignored him, before Swlwan did speak up to answer.
"We are fine but that situation could easily have been averted had you sent your diplomat alone, or with an escort. You have an officer coming, I want to speak to him."
But then the Kelp security chief acted too. "He will be coming to our ship to converse, we cannot trust your station to have not been sabotaged by this man or conspirators. We are not risking our lives a second time when your security procedures were proven inadequate once at the...near, cost of a life." That pause was because he couldn't be sure if the girl would really be saved or not. This man was a soldier, and he knew wounds like that were usually deadly. Apparently this was what him and the ambassador were arguing about, one wanting to stay and the other go. It seems this is the agreement they reached...
IF the captain would agree to it.

"As Chief I understand what your doing... though up to the Captain on what he says.
As the chief waited soon a man entered the room who looked actually younger then the XO who came before. He was in his mid thirties, blonde hair, a beard, and wearing a Captain's uniform of the Imperial Navy.
"Chief tell me what happened this instant.", the Captain soon ordered with authority.
The Chief saluted the gave his report, "Captain Sir!! From my own understanding Ambassador Ilriana Felming was about to end the treaty with a final signature but the XO pulled a gun out on her. I believe from all records he was speaking about editing out the Rabona Group and other shit like that."
"Hrmmm I had my suspicions... looks like the XO was apart of 'that' group.", the Captain soon replied.
"Sir?! Suspicions?!! If you knew something why didn't you inform me the Chief of Security?!! It was my job to keep this place safe!!", Cooper soon replied.
"As it man Chief, there was no evidence but now there is I hope the Ambassador will survive. Anyways what is what they requested on continuation of the treaty?", the Captain asked.
"Ambassador Swlwan and their own Chief wish to continue the meeting on their own ship sir!! Though that is out of security protocol.". Cooper then reported.
"I see and I can understand Chief, keep me informed on the well being of the Ambassador I will go with them to finish the treaty.", the captain soon finished then walked to the Kelp.
"I am Captain Lilfa Geit of the Stars Bane.... I will agree to your terms to finish up this treaty in the name of the Empire.", Captain Lilfa Geit soon finished.

The quartet of aliens stood by and ready as the two officers chatted, with the speaker of the four taking down everything that was said to question later. One of the Kelp soldiers retrieved the documents from the floor right as the Captain announced he would be going with them.
"Captain, my name is Swlwan as was announced. You have nothing to fear, now please come with us if you'd be so kind..." But this time he thought ahead and stopped himself before turning to go. "I advise you bring a pressurized suit. Our vessel is filled with water. It would be...troublesome to drain a room solely for this meeting."
Now the diplomat began to walk down the hall towards his shuttle, guards in tow. "But we shall if necessary."
They'd get to their craft and give Captain Geit time to equip himself, if he so chose, before departing the station and heading back to the Scylla.

Captain Lilfag soon nodded then soon told one of the security guards to bring his normal suit. Soon one of the men brought his normal suit as he soon began to suit up to go.
"Sir are you sure?", the Chief soon helped him in his soon as he asked.
"Ya... it is better this way, as the Ambassador said we need to keep this from becoming a crisis. Right now we do not have time for another war with aliens when we are having problems at home.", Lilfag then said.
"Alright... just be careful.", Cooper then replied.
"I always am.", Lilfag said as he walked towards the other shuttle to the Iltruskar ship.

It didn't take more than a few minutes for the Kelp shuttle to arrive back at their flagship, being the closest to the station for both security purposes, and just convenience since it was where the diplomat was quartered. Docking would go quickly and the aliens would step out into an airlock, motioning for the Captain to do the same. Standard enough...
What wasn't standard was the water pouring in from spouts in the walls after alarm sirens went off to warn those inside of the imminent flooding. Of course, he'd be fine in his suit. The Iltruskari trudged through the flooded room with no problem and out into the hall, Geit would probably have a lot more trouble with it if he decided to walk. I say that because the hallway connected to the airlock was actually quite spacious, probably a third again bigger than the corridors connecting human vessel's stations to one another. They were rounded too, giving the impression that they were in the vascular system of some metallic beast and not a space ship. Water could be felt gently flowing through the hallway around them, only working to further that perception. It was very likely Lilfa was the first human to ever view one of their ship's interiors, or, the first to ever live to tell about it.
Doors and bulkheads were built into the walls, fairly standard issue. Several more troops came to guide the lot of them off to a meeting room of sorts several halls downstream from the entry airlock. The furniture was odd but seemed comfortable enough, no chairs since the backing would not work with their physique, they more had stools with soft plastic cushions adorning the top. All of them took seats at one, there being seven in total surrounding a large ovoid table, with one left for him. Here, Swlwan seemed much more at home...though he did not step out of his armor.
"Thank you for accompanying us, captain. I would like to tell you I'm sorry for the events that happened on board, I hope Ilriana survives the ordeal..."
With the pleasantry underway he went right back into his job, seeming much more direct now that he was on home turf and had the advantage of this situation to help him pry info. "I would like to know immediately what 'group' you made mention to the...late, XO, belonging to. And why they would attack a peaceful diplomatic meeting?"

Lilfa was surprised and shocked of what type of ship he was on. Being the first human on this type of alien ship made things completely different. He followed the Iltruskar, keeping himself cautious just in case. As he was lead to the room he notice the various parts of the ship which he memorized just in case for the future. Soon he was brought into a room with a table and seven stools which itself was different from chairs. Not complaining he soon took his sit with his suit showing how much air and how much pressure was on it.
"Do not worry as due to being very prepared for such things sometimes our security guards all carry emergency packs to repair immediate damage until a medic arrives. Though I am no doctor I can hope as well, since the late XO shot her in a head, which usually leads to death if not treated right away.", Captain Lilfa soon replied.
As he heard the next sentence he knew they were going to ask this but it was state secret.
"I am sorry but the group itself isn't truly a security risk, and I cannot talk about it to anyone. You see its less of an enemy and more of an ideological differences between the Ambassador and the XO. The XO is not a true traitor no... just a bit too loyal to the point doing anything to get their way. It is not much only fortunately you were not, unfortunately the Ambassador was. I do hope this doesn't harm our future relations in the future.", The Captain soon replied, trying not to give too much only enough to get the treaty fully done.

Swlwan took all of that in and nodded intently, showing he was listening. "Perhaps once trade goes underway we can begin to see some of that technology ourselves, it is quite fascinating..."
"But as for the XO...I shall take your word for it..." The Kelp said, eying Geit with scrutiny. He'd probably be familiar with the look, alien or not, you could tell when a politician was sizing you up. And your answers. "Former Executive Officer Ousto revealed much in his...last moments, let us say and be courteous and phase it. I do not care to pry into the secrets of your people, but I would like assurance that this group's actions shall not bring my own people into conflict."
"We will most certainly be exposing ourselves to these radical elements when we trade with your Empire, can we be certain they shall not see us as a roadblock 'in the way of their loyalty'? While we most definitely do not wish harm on any whom do not provoke it from us...I cannot help but think their interpretation of harm too liberal to be safe. As evidenced by that man's eagerness to do what he though was right...and perhaps risk a war in doing so..." Swlwan concluded on a strong note.

"Their will most of the times is the will of the Empress, like all of the Imperial Navy just take a bit more extreme interpretation. There will be no roadblocks in your peaceful trade as long as the Empress wishes it so. As well him risking war itself is a treason by our own military law and doing so he was killed for treason. I will personally make sure the Ambassador's own hard work is not fruitless for this treaty to go through.", the Captain soon stated in hopes to have this treaty officially recognized now.

It seems that this was enough for the ambassador finally, who didn't want to press too much. In truth, their security was the higher priority here, and information second. After all, if their plans went well, they'd be dealing with these houses directly. And that could well bring them into the sights of these radicals...
Ah, but perhaps they could use that to their advantage, too?
"I see. I thank you for your assurances, Captain. I will do the same on my end to make sure that all of our work here is not for naught. Cooler heads shall prevail, I hope to say..." The Kelp announced.
"The treaty can be considered officially ratified, and shall be brought back to the Hierarchs for review without any delay." Saying this Swlwan would take one of the copies out and hand it to him, a bodyguard thoughtfully having it laminated to not deform in water. The other was, of course, kept for their purposes.
"If there is anything you need to inquire of me in return, please do not hesitate. If that is not the case, several of these men shall return you to your shuttle to depart. From there, we shall be in contact. This system is to be neutral if you were not informed...so perhaps we shall meet here again, with no more assaults on either side I earnestly hope..."

Captain Lilfa soon received the document which he held very carefully. He soon nods then replies, "I understand this to be neutral, I will report this to my superiors as well that we should expand this station for both our people for future negotiations in the future. Perhaps even allowing guards and station workers from both sides to work on it to continue our peaceful relationship. With that I will take my life good day Ambassador Swlwan."
With that the Captain was to be escorted off the ship back to the station.

"Indeed, good day captain."
With that Swlwan would head back to the Scylla's bridge where Xulran Renfror was waiting. Both would watch the Captain's shuttle return to the station, saying nothing until he had docked with his own vessel once more. The alien leader had a video feed of all of that going on, so he needed little briefing to be acquainted with the incident on the star base.
(Do you suppose that we can trust them?) Renfror began, asking abruptly.
(That is too broad of a question to answer simply, Xulran.) Swlwan replied, earning him only a puzzled look from the other Kelp, prompting him to continue. (Their kind are nothing like ours. What one may see as beneficial, another will view as anathema. Almost every single one has an agenda of their own, goals, plans...their disunity is staggering. They form into cliques based on these agendas, but even within those, there is struggle.)
For a few minutes there was silence. (I believe we can trust the Rabona Group. For now, I advise wariness of the Imperials. They are divided in two, if not more, ideologies that are certain to violently clash. One of which I believe we may one day end up to fight.)
(Then we shall have to prepare accordingly.) Renfrod stated solemnly.
(Yes. But, for now there is peace and relations are open. Let us prosper now, and later, come what may. There is much we can gain...and much risk.)
With that said the Kelp fleet would arrange itself and leave shortly after, meeting over, to report home.
