Bio: One of the older ships currently used by the Sarcanus Navy. Continually refitted to keep them in line with current naval forces. These ships have a fixed Heavy Railgun in the center of the ship. Which is why it's named after the World War 2 German tank destroyer "Stug III". Though the weapon takes up more internal space and has a more limited firing arc. It's also better protected and less prone to damage.
Adding to the "assault gun" mentality it has two large particle beams. That can rake enemy armor with greater affect then lasers. This is all supported by several other lighter weapons.
In the case of "The Bastard" it runs 7 medium lasers and 6 small guided missiles. The latter serving the dual purpose of anti fighter weapon and anti-ship to a degree.

The Shepard Class Patrol destroyer has a long service history with the Sarcanus. Initially it was simply a heavy destroyer without a hanger. However as the Sarcanus began taking on private security forces roles. Particularly in defense against quick supply raiders. They felt the need for a ship that could accommodate a small number of fighters. So the already battle tested Shepard class ships were modified with a hanger space that included maintenance facilities.
This made the Shepard a great asset in defending supply lines. With long range recon fighters it could even engage in reconnaissance roles. It's armament made it quite versatile. Able to contend with fighters, damage larger capital ships to a degree, and handle everything in between.
However it lacks additional munitions for it's fighters. Complicating the situation is also it's use of projectile based weapons. It is dependent on auxiliary and long range tender ships for extended operations outside of friendly space.
Even so, they make up the heart of security forces, and provide great escort for heavier Capital ships. It's said the Shepard class will see another decade of extended use before the Sarcanus military brass consider a newer replacement.

Bio: Named after the famous brother of the current Sarcanus Duke. The Darius class light carrier is intended to be a cost effective filler for operations that do not warrant a full scale carrier. It's also intended to be used as a command and control ship for security operations. There exist two other variants, "Eye of Darius" recon variant, and "Marius" which is a troop drop ship variant.
The standard Darius can accommodate ten heavy fighter craft on it's two flight decks and it's internal hangers. With maintenance facilities and four rapid rearm and refuel stations. It however does not have any capital ship grade weaponry. It's only armament being 12 fighter scale railguns.

Bio: The Dime Class Frigate is so named because they are considered dime a dozen. And their abilities are quite limited to escort duty. With only 3 large unguided rockets as it's biggest deterrent to larger capital ships. It is considered almost a torpedo boat of the modern age. However in fleet operations it fills the role of escort adequately. Adding it's anti fighter weapons to those of a fleet and providing a deterrent to faster ships. They particularly useful in conjunction with Stug class heavy destroyers, which lack anti-fighter capability.

Bio: In keeping with the naming of the Dime Class. The Nickle class is an in-system corvette. Not equipped with a jump drive. Instead it's solely devoted to weapon systems and ammo. Unlike the Dime Class, this ship is well armed, even sporting heavy armor. However it has a slower acceleration and one acceleration suite. These ships are intended to operate within a solar system. Small and easier to produce. They live up their name.

Bio: The Sever class fills the role of a fast auxiliary for providing new munitions and weapons for fighting ships within a fleet. With an acceleration of .95 they can keep up with many ships within the Sarcanus Navy. It has a rather modest defense against fighters. But weak weapons to deter ships.

Bio: The Deliverance class fills the role of long range tender within the Sarcanus navy. Intended to provide supply to auxiliaries in fleets behind enemy lines. As well as possessing dock arms capable of doing repairs that would normally be only possible in port.
