Karli had been taking notes for the latest Student Council meeting. It had started in a civil manner until a random noble, freshly arrived from off world, challenged Patriel to a duel of honor. Evidently the events of the tournament had people of the Imperial Political sphere believing Patriel to be #1 potential suitor to the Crown Princess. So the meeting had to be suspended for a while. Fortunately he promptly beat the upstart who proved to be nothing more then a self entitled noble with no skills.
However it didn't stop there, more suitors arrived, and the Princess only encouraged them to fight for her love. Much to Patriel's great dismay. As such the meeting was finally concluded in the early evening just as the sun was beginning to set.
Karli returned to her suite, a bit tired, but relieved the day was over. As she entered her suite, she noted a small black envelope, tied with velvet gray ribbon. Carefully admiring it, she unsealed it, it was an invitation to a carnival.
Quickly dressing for the occasion she happily left her suit and wondered into the city.

Patriel slowly made his way into the suite, his hands clad in gloves, so as not to contaminate the scene. Reaching into a heavy duffel bag that was slung over his shoulder. He retrieved several spheres. Activating one, he tossed up it, a mini rotor spun up and kept it aloft. Repeating this action until five spheres were out. A signal from a custom data slate ordered them to scour the premises for all information. Imperial authorities had already deactivated the defenses and checked the suite. However the Princess asked they not remove any evidence.
As the forensic probes did their work, Patriel gave the place his own looking over, it was surprising how simply a human perspective could unravel things. A rather obvious find, an empty envelope in the trash, carefully he examined it. Doing a quick scan with his data pen, it revealed very little, just Karli's prints on it. The envelope the same you would find in a garden variety store. However, he also noted a small sash on the counter, examining it. From the bends in the fabric, he could infer that it had been used on the envelope, and Karli had kept it.
"You're not from round here, are you?" Patriel said aloud as he stared at it before taking a small sample of it.
