James heard Gedeon's advice, and gave it a few thoughts. It is true that capturing the leader will bring some chaos in their ranks, but they are dealing with a bandit group, not a trained army with a single purpose. If anything they are closer to a group of mercenary, working together to get some treasures, but for people like that it is always their lives that is the most important.
"Hm, Mr. Salvator, have you seen a rat before? If you observe it, then you will notice the way they act. When cornered by a fierce house cat, although they lack the ability to defeat the cat, they will still attempt to use their fangs to fight their way out with much more vigor than it had done so before. Our goal is their death, not for them to be captured, so it is highly, highly unlikely that they would surrender no matter what we do. They only have two choices, to fight us, and to run, and that decision would not likely be impacted by the existence of the leader. Besides, they have entered this ruin before, they already know about the existence of magic, another reason why we can't let them run off and spread rumors."
There's also the problem of radios and other communication systems, something that Gedeon who seems to be unfamiliar did not seem to notice. If they attack the leader it is quite possible that the rest of the team would either burn down the village or try to escape, and neither of those choices would be favorable to their end goal. They want to protect the remaining survivors of the village, and finish off all those bandits in the name of Bastet to calm her rage, not bring the robbers to justice and behind bars.
"Mr. Gerhardt, how many soldiers would you be able to call upon to support us? We must try to at least surround the village, and keep a close watch on the camp if we want to take down all of them without anyone sneaking out of our sight. You won't happen to have some sort of air support would you? A helicopter or some sort of aircraft with scouting ability will surely be helpful, if not to attack then keep an eye out for any enemies trying to run."
The mummies are not as slow as ghouls and the like, but nevertheless they are still human in physique, and as so is unable to chase down large numbers of enemy soldiers. It'll be a lot easier to pick them off from the sky if that's possible, or have sniper teams set up around the area for similar tasks.
As for Dieter and Gedeon's requests, Anubis is giving a mixed answer to them.
"I have to refuse your request, mage knight. I am quite busy in my daily job to judge the dead, and certainly do not have the time to work as a messenger for you. And you seem to misunderstand the consequences of the sudden appearance of a deity like me in any of the worlds, it is not as simple as you think. Which is the reason why we give you answers as such, so that you can learn from trying to understand our words. If you simply treat everything by the surface, you have not gained any knowledge, and are little more than a puppet with strings pulled by others."
Which is true, look at what happened when James summoned Aion, even in the sea of Aether it caused more than just a few ripples. It's also similar to a military team suddenly appearing in the city of another country without any permissions, at neutral grounds too, definitely not something you want to see happen. Knowledge is a different thing to truly understand, as there's the possibility of it not existing at all in the first place, it is a topic where you have to ponder and learn from. But if you refuse to acknowledge it as it is, you are the same as a clam, without any thoughts of your life.
"As for the location, yes I see it, you're using the scale just fine. Well then, farewell, brave souls."
And within a second, the group would temporary be blinded by the morning light of the desert as they arrive right by the vehicle that they came in. The sun is starting to come out, showing that they have spent a night in the ruins. The treasures that was granted to them remains with them,

"I believe that James is correct. These groups aren't the kind to be loyal to leaders. Likely, this stand-in-elder got the title by being crueler and more cunning than the rest, rather than any sort of charisma. If we announced we have him as a hostage, I suspect his righthand man in the camp would gleefully thumb his nose at us and reply that he is the new boss. Hardly a help, though it would be a good idea in normal instances." Dieter said. What he didn't touch on was the fact they didn't want them to surrender, they wanted all of the robbers dead; no point reiterating that grisly objective.
"Around as many men as they have, 4 squads of 12. We'll come out will less still, but I can assure you our numbers will count for more. Each squad comes mechanized, so mobility won't be an issue. The aforementioned vehicles also sport small-caliber autocannons that should be quite useful, I think. For the camp that is. It goes without saying turning that on the village is absolutely out of the question." The German didn't expect James to try that, it was more for the benefit of the rest who have proven themselves less willing to consider collateral damage. "No air support, I'm afraid. However, we should be able to arrange our forces in such a manner to where it isn't necessary. Once we're back outside I'll draw you a map of what I am thinking."
Not long after that Anubis teleported them out. Gerhardt once again showed his respect and thanks to the deity with a bow. He had to say, for a pagan death deity, the man wasn't very bad at all. Unfortunate that they couldn't speak at length, but ah, mortals probably had little of interest to say to a being of that power and scale. Perhaps there'd be another time or another chance, judging from how their destiny was shaping up.
It took a few minutes for him to adjust to the light and sudden sensation of being shifted across dozens of miles, but the spear bearer was resilient. He took a sip of his canteen and then got to work drawing a map in the sand like he talked about. First he drew the village, and then the temple, with rough layouts for each. He marked a point at each corner of the enemy camp between the guard towers.
"We put a halftrack at each point here, where they can achieve overlapping fields of fire on their camp. With this, there is no possible way they can escape. The two tracks where we are now, between the base and village, can keep the two groups from reinforcing one another, and keep any men from fleeing the village in this direction." At this point he paused to draw a curving line from where they were now, signifying they'd weave around the village and approach it from the opposite side. "Thus, we should attack from this vector so they cannot run past us. Logically if they choose to retreat, they'll do so towards their allies, and run straight into our guns. If they try to move out of the village to either flank, the respective group on that side can swerve down and intercept. I don't recall seeing any cars in the that village, while it doesn't mean they didn't have any hidden, they probably don't have many. This should be acceptable. Further good news is that we shouldn't have to launch an outright attack."
Dieter motioned to his scale. "I can use this to pick out who is with the robbers, I think, judging their sins as Anubis did ours. We should be able to identify and pick them off in groups, if not all at once, without threatening anyone else. I think we should approach the elder pretending to have succeeded in our goals, and then quietly dispose of him before moving onto the rest. Give him as little cause and ability to warn the camp as possible."
That route would also mean he couldn't rally his men for a fight in the village, which would be great. If he didn't already suspect they had gotten out and/or caught onto his trap.
"For the camp: Each squad has a designated marksman. They can help Miss Casimir to pick off targets of interest, and the rest can help barrage the forces inside until we approach. That should weaken them enough that the mummies and ourselves can mop up the rest. I trust Tamara will come in handy here, in addition."
Having laid out his ideas, he got his radio out and barked orders into it. James would recognize this as Latin, Gedeon might as well. That went back and forth for a few moments. "Are we in agreement, or does anyone have amendments to make?"
Supposing not, he'd tell his troops what to expect and where to go.
"I would advise waiting until night once again. Both to make getting into position easier, and so that we have time to heal and catch our breath. However, I feel ready to move now if you all should wish. It will take some time for my forces to arrive regardless, so we'll be getting a short breather in either case.

When Gedeon received his answer he didn't expect it but to be refused on a simple message almost ticked Gedeon off. The one chance he can try to pass a message on to the other Mage Knights that he and Tamara were alive and it was completely refused. Well that just made things harder now, for who knows what is occurring in Imaginary Macrosm with the fall of the Ashborne Line. Actually Gedeon would think it wouldn't be good since the line was fairly important in back in his home world after all. With that done, just meant they had to send a message another way with a far more generous person. As Gedeon checked on Tamara's wound and helped clean it out more which Tamara's head was turned the other way. Gedeon was listening to Dieter's plan of action on how to deal with the current situation. Hearing from how they work, he wasn't shocked his way wouldn't with these men's plan. Then again Gedeon's plan simply back in his own world would be different then here. Here is where a Macrosm difference was genuine on how things are done, different from both worlds. Normally bandits would be far more scared if they knew who they deal with, especially if its someone vastly more powerful then you well here the criminals seem have more sway. It made sense with lack of magic and many people powerless it was obvious both world's would have vastly different ideas. Well regardless Gedeon listened to the entire plan and didn't have a problem with it, it was simply better allow those who know their world better then those who know less. Once he was done reapplying the bandage and closing Tamara up better with the proper tools he soon asks, "Feeling better?"
"Of course I feel better its just bleeding and probably being infected.", Tamara soon replied which Gedeon knew she was feeling a little better now.
Turning to get another canteen of water he soon orders her, "Drink up, you lost a lot of blood your going to need more fluids to gain back your strength."
Tamara took it and began to drink much of the water, well Gedeon turned back and looked at the plan of action. It looked reasonable and he pondered on it as he listened to everything when Dieter finish Gedeon soon nods.
"Not really, we just need to move quickly to silence the enemies before they know it. Now where would you like me Mr. Dieter?", Gedeon soon asked as wondering where he will be in all this.
One thing for sure Gedeon is not going to allow Tamara to be apart of this, with her the most weakened at the moment it would be best to leave her behind to rest. Though to do this within the necessary time frame without anyone noticing will be an issue he soon asks, "Before I forget, how much time until your men can be in position? If we are too slow and time this wrong the entire situation will fall apart."
With that done Gedeon put his hands in a cross and he looked better then before but one could tell he was still exhausted from all their troubles. Its subtle but if someone even pay attention they could notice his wounds seem less then what they were before. Of course there is a true reason for this but its not so apparent to most.
Meanwhile Tamara sat down as she soon put an extra shirt on slowly as she listened to the entire thing. Both her pot and the golden bar they were given were next to her as she looked at both. Without much pause she soon put both in a bag for save keeping then turned back to the others waiting for the meeting to be over.

After some planning among the group, and assigning them different positions to be on for their operations, it's time to put it to use. The group waited an entire day in the desert, so that they could have the cover of the night, and give themselves some time to prepare. After a whole day, James and Tamara's mana should have recovered by a significant amount, and there should be improvements over everyone's conditions. During that time, the reinforcements that Dieter has called would have arrived, and helped in patching up the injuries that the group has received during the trials.
As planned, the mercenaries move into place, surrounding the general area near the camp of the grave robbers, and the occupied village. They are fully armed, and are quietly watching the two locations from a distance, ready to report any sudden movements back to their leader. They stay just out of sight by hiding behind sand dunes and using camouflages to hide their existence, but would still be ready to fight back if they somehow get discovered.
The team has decided to deal with the leader first, since the villagers might be endangered if their operation has been discovered. Thankfully after a day of rest and significant medical help, much of the wounds on the team has at least received some treatments, so they won't have to worry about bleeding to death anymore. That said, they're still in conditions that would be much better if they are sent to the hospital, so they won't be able to do as well as they might have in perfect condition. James himself had little injuries, and had plenty of water and food to bring him back to health, enough for his mana and stamina to be in workable state. He himself took a pistol from Dieter's teams, so that he could do more than just magic.
The plan is simple, Gedeon can use his spell to increase his speed, and take down 'Rashidi' before they react. The reason for this is that James have informed them about the gem in his hand, and that the leader of the grave diggers have the other one. The gem is actually a magical artifact, but James did not use it himself in fear of angering Bastet even more. Rashidi however won't have that worries, and would likely use it against the group if they enter combat. So Gedeon has to attack and kill the man before he could react, and retrieve the cat's eye stone from wherever it is.
The rest of the group are to sneak in, figure out which ones are bandits in disguise, and end their lives. At this time period it is likely they would be asleep, but you never know, if one managed to wake up and warn the rest, they might have to deal with an unknown amount of armed men that might have hostages with them. But they have Dieter's new artifact, which would help them identify the ones they have to kill, making the job easier than without it.
James, Kate, and Mei Mei would be following the other members of the group into the village. Kate, who managed to get dressed again, keep watch for James as he pick a door open. The door was made out of wood, which means if they try they can probably break it down, but that's not exactly the quiet way to do things, so lock picking it is. Once it's ready he would try to listen for movements, then wave at Dieter to show that it's alright to go in. If any gunfight breaks out, they would at least have Mei Mei here whose immune to regular gunfire. During their rest, James had used his mana to repair the Jiangshi's damaged clothing, and tried to pluck out the lead that's still stuck on her so she would be able to work just fine in keeping the team safe. That said she's just one, she won't be able to cover for everyone if something happens.
In the first house the team can see two men inside, asleep on beds. It's too dark to see their faces without getting close, so they would need more information than that to figure if they are villagers or bandits. Now would be the time where they can use the scale.

Dieter's men looked competent, and as was said, they were well stocked and equipped. They wore uniforms similar to his, and brought in weaponry that was equally familiar. Curious was their choice of vehicles, halftracks, but there were a lot of those in the region thanks to Cold War surplus sales, and they handled the sand well. They also made excellent mechanized fighting platforms, which would be good for them, very bad for anyone trying to outrun them. Another perk for the group is that they had both supplies and medics, and were able to see them all patched up before they rolled out. That, combined with some time to rest, left the German feeling pretty good. Physically, that is. Tackling the task of dealing with these villains was still an issue, but one he trusted they were up to the task of.
Once again they also had a chance to gear up different if so desired. Gerhardt swapped out his ruined armor...and shirt, for fresh sets, and received an actual helmet. As the driver in their future skirmish, he'd likely be a big target. He swapped pistols as well for a funny looking Mauser Broomhandle, a rare variant they likely wouldn't recognize. Otherwise, he was ready to deal with the first half of the operation.
They had refined their plan a little bit, so far he was feeling pretty confident in it. Cut off the head of the serpent while simultaneously picking off the small fries one by one. Hopefully they could get a couple before they even realize what was going on, but the most important aspect of this was taking out the man calling the shots. A lot was going to be riding on Gedeon, here.
-
Come nighttime they drove to the village, but this time they gave it a wide berth so no one would see their jeep or hear the engine. They had to leave it some ways behind once again and travel on foot, but that was a small price to pay considering they were risking their lives. They split up from here, Dieter giving Gedeon some brief well wishing before they went their separate ways. The explorer lead the first band into the outskirts of the village, staying low and ducking around the wide alleys between mudbrick houses. Most of the curtains were pulled closed to block out the sun of the coming morning, which would help them out here. They wound around to the front of the first house and prepared to investigate it.
Dieter covered James while he picked at the lock. His eyes scanned the village's main plaza back and forth with wary caution, only flicking back to the doctor when he gave an all clear. At this, he nodded, and gently pushed open the door. For now he had his rifle slung over his back, hoping it wouldn't be needed here. Instead he had that Broomhandle tucked into his belt for quick access, and a knife in one hand with the scale in the other. The interior was dark, but not oppressively so; the low light pollution and lack of cloud cover in the desert made the stars and moon much brighter than someone from the west might be used to. The other advantage to walking into town was that it gave their eyes plenty of time to adjust to the darkness.
There were a pair of men inside. Time to get to work. The scale was raised and held at about half height, facing the two of them. The man holding it envisioned hearts heavy with the black malady of evil, subtly telling the tool that this was the metric he would be measuring. If James and the rest of them were watching, they'd see the left side of the scale dip heavily while pointed at the first of the sleeping duo. A bandit. Dieter positioned it to face the second man, a repeat reaction. The man carefully set it aside and looked back to his team with a nod. They had found some targets, now to get rid of them.
The German took his time, moving with slow, delicate motions. One foot forward, toes to the ground first, then the rest of the weight shifted forward like a ninja on the prowl. This should keep his footfalls very subdued. One step, two, brief pause, three, four...eventually he was between the pair of scoundrels. His primary hand held the boucan knife in a reverse grip, the other was empty. The first thing he did was grab the man's throat, hard, and squeeze. This meant he wouldn't make a sound. Doing this was vital, because then the knife was plunged downward firmly into his chest, straight between two ribs and into the heart for a swift, clean kill. This entire process took maybe a second or two at best, it was carried out with brutal efficiency. During this time he had his body positioned directly between both robbers, so that any blood splatter would hit him and not spray his friend and risk waking them up. Even if he for some reason missed, he could continue to strangle the man and end things that way.
Supposing this went off without a hitch, he'd repeat the process on the other one. Even if it didn't work, the bandit was certainly too close to Dieter to make use of an assault rifle in his best interests. Combined with being groggy, he could ideally take the second villain out even if he woke up in time to defend himself. Whether that would be before or after a call of alarm, however, was the question...
At any rate. Once done with that, he picked the scale back up and motioned for the team to get moving after closing the door behind them to conceal that they had visited. Once again, he'd take up cover and wait for James to pick the lock and give the signal to head in. Hopefully Gedeon could handle his part with the same efficiency.

As the plan was being made Gedeon listened to every detail as they went through everything the day prior. His part would seem extremely important in taking out the leader as quickly as possible. Of course he understood that meant him and the only choice to not fuck it up. Though part of Gedeon's own self was against the way he had to deal with it he had to do it regardless. As the plan was fully fleshed out it was the only would work if they worked in exactly what they needed to.
"So take him out without him knowing, it will work I think only if we got the moment of surprise.", Gedeon threw his own comment of course which was obvious to begin with.
With the plan finalized Gedeon then turned back to Tamara as they would begin the next step of the plan. With a day of rest as well earned at that, along with Dieter's men arrival as well helped them fully recover as Tamara was literally patched up properly this time and was drinking a lot of fluids to regain her blood loss. Meanwhile Gedeon himself changed out his clothing with a bit more sturdy clothing that was not casual as more tactical looking. He borrowing it of course and in a weird sense felt like what he used to do back in his own world on preparing for a large battle. Though the soldiers clothing of this world is much softer and lighter then he was used to. As he checked all the weapons and cleaned them up Tamara came up to him from behind.
"Gedeon...", Tamara soon stated with him replying, "You should be resting Tamara, you were lucky we got through that trial the way we did."
Of course he was almost fully ready as the younger teen only bit her lip then asks, "I been meaning to-"
"Not now, maybe we can talk later on what you were trying to do. I understand what he stated earlier and what you could do but at the time it would only lead to your own death. Its not like we back in our own home where we may had more options.", Gedeon soon finished as he walked away from his charge to go off to the side to begin his meditation.
Tamara was only in silence as Gedeon left, as he left much unsaid and her own feelings on the matter.
As the day passed and the hot sun turned back to night Gedeon was fully ready for what was going to occur next. In fact Gedeon out of the entire group now looked the most well rested as his wounds he had earlier suddenly looked almost he wasn't hurt earlier. Of course no one could explain it possibly due to he was from another world though it wouldn't explain about Tamara who was still very much wounded and was walking with her patched up very much so. As it was now time to enact the plan Gedeon turned to the others with a nod as he noticed everyone was ready.
"Stick to the plan and we should come out this on top eh. Don't worry about the leader I will personally handle him before he knew what hit him.", Gedeon stated though he only said it to give insurance then anything else.
With that Gedeon soon turned around and suddenly gone with only some dust in the air where he was. Tamara was about to say something only for him to disappear before she could simply raised her hand out and then lowers it. She soon closed her mouth with nothing she followed the others as they were to begin their part in this little operation they were about to do. Tamara followed the group as they came up to the first house and looked around. It was quiet and foreboding as the silence was in the town, they had to be quick efficient and of course quit. Tamara would stay silent as she waited for Dieter's scale to tell them if these were the grave robbers or not. As she looked on how he handled the scale she was mildly impressed on how both he and James have managed to use magic with ease. The longer she got to knew them all the more she started to believe they could of been genius' back in her own world. Watching Dieter and James move she simply continued to just be a look out for both men to continue their job as she would help Kate cover the team.
Meanwhile another part of all this Gedeon moved quickly as he landed on top of a roof with silence behind him. He was here earlier then the others as he had to be in position much sooner. Looking over the village as the night sky could be over seen his eyes looked calm and collected. He was in pure black clothing that were similar to what special forces of this world wore and one could see he was fully prepared for battle. Gedeon would mentality remark how this was such a sad scene as the peaceful night was about to turn into a blood bath. Taking a breath he soon headed directly toward where he last remembered where the elder was likely at. As he moved by using his lightning step at intervals across roof by roof with graceful landing after landing Gedeon soon arrived at the destination he needed to be at. Coming up to the door he would notice it of course locked which was expected then anything else. He soon went to the lock and thinking how to proceed, without anyone noticing. Looking around the building he wondered what were his options to get in and as quickly and quietly as possible. Gedeon quickly moved to the top to give himself a better vantage point and looked at the house noticing no matter what, if the elder had a trap inside he would be unable to simply bypass it.
'This is why I prefer the old fashion way...', Gedeon mentality thought as he moved to a nearby window to take a look inside.
It looked to be that living room they were in earlier when they talked to the Elder. That was promising and soon took out a tool he borrowed from Dieter's men to work on the window. He wasn't sure what it was called but he got a crash course on its use as he began to work on the lock of the window. He was being as quiet as he could and soon heard a lone click as it seemed he unlocked it right. Slowly Gedeon began to move the window open as silently as possible. Once open Gedeon moved up and climbed inside. Looking where he was he soon did a prompt lightning step to suddenly appear right in the middle of the living room. Gedeon took a good look around his surroundings and now what should he do next? Where was he sleeping and if he had set up traps or not.

With a series of shift moves, that's two less enemies they have to worry about. Dieter showed the technique of a professional, more than enough to deal with these bandits that did not expected any enemies soon. Blood did get everywhere in the room, that's not going to be easy to clean off. Just as James was going to show his admiration of the German's skills, a fairly loud boom is heard, along with a bright orange light coming from the Elder's home.
"....There goes that plan, Mr. Gerhardt!"
James calls out to the older man to warn him of the happening, and opens the tome in his hand, beginning to read from it word by word. The Book of Coming Forth by Day is a powerful spell book, more famously known as the Book of the Dead. It contains large numbers of spells related to the Egyptian culture of mummification, the happenings in the afterlife, and spells used in rituals. James can use the tome in a similar way that the others used the scrolls he had written, only the tome contains much more power within them, allowing it to be used multiple times without worries of the book being destroyed in the process.
Of course, this only teaches him how to cast the spells, the book itself does little more than improve his casting abilities for the spells that the book contains. However at times, that extra power is well needed in battle. Now, there is one problem, the tome itself is not exactly a picture book, it's difficult to understand it. For magic as per James' theory, one's understanding and imaging of the power is very important, if he can't understand it well, he would not be able to cast the same magic. So what would he be able to do? Cast magic according to how he feels like it should be.
"With that chisel of metal! With which he opened the mouth of the gods! Thy mouth is opened, by mouth is split open by Shu with that iron harpoon of mine with which I split open the mouths of the gods! Opening of the Mouth!"
He finishes casting just as a pair of armed men charges out of the neighboring home, only to be speared right in the mouth by two large harpoons that seems to have materialized out of thin air. The flying pole-arms were powerful enough to pin their body right onto the wall, ending their lives within seconds after severing their spines. It's a very powerful spell, likely not exactly what the original creator had thought of when they wrote that passage down, but James made it work with his own theory.
Another pair came from yet another direction, but gets intercepted by Mei Mei who lunges at them. With a lightning fast slash from her claws, one of man was slashed and stops in place. The poison that her claws contains is much more powerful than the gas that the mummies in the trial had used, enough to paralyze and kill a man within a minute. The victim would begin to turn purple from their limbs, and when the color reaches their heart or brain, there would be no help for them.
His partner attempts to shoot at the Jiangshi, yelling at his other allies to wake them up, though of course that's not needed with the sound that the rifle is making. However he would soon look in horror as he realize the girl in front of him doesn't seem to be hurt by the bullets, and was about to run when he gets punched right in the back, sending him flying onto the side of the building. As he tries to recover, he could see his attacker slowly jumping closer to him, with each blink he took the Jiangshi moved several steps closer as did the end of his life. The last thing the robber saw was the bluish fist that's coming right towards his face.
Another bandit was a bit more lucky in a way, he came out alone, so he wasn't targeted by James or Mei Mei, instead he was spotted by Kate as he tries to sneak closer. The young woman tries to shoot at the man with the rifle, but failed to make impact when the man ducks behind a door. The two then exchange fire, both of them wanting to buy more time for the rest of their allies to join the fray, so they mostly try to pin down their opponent as well as they could.
But that's just parts of the enemies that are in village, the rest soon comes out of their building to join the battle.
-
"Looking for something? Mr. Salvator?"
Looks like Gedeon's target had expected visitors tonight, the man is sitting on a chair to the side, watching the mage knight with a gem in his hand. The other gem that belongs to the village, the one that he managed to keep without being retrieved by James. An assault rifle in his hand, he looks at Gedeon in front of him with a much different expression as when they first met. Looking much sharper, fiercer than before, he watches the intruder like a snake watching its prey, ready to charge and bite at the man in front of him.
"It won't happen to be this would it? I suppose you found out something, if you're sneaking in here, it's not something that'll be beneficial to me. I was expecting you to bring the other gem back, but it looks like that won't be happening now would it? Well then I won't have anymore uses for you and your team, I'm afraid I'll have to end your journey here."
The gem in his hand starts glowing in an eerie way, as if it is an actually eye of an cat, staring right at Gedeon. Whatever it is, the gem gives the man, Rashidi, magical powers that rivals the undead wizard that Gedeon have seen on the ship, and this time he's alone to deal with him while the rest of the team are fighting the other bandits.
"Lady of Flame! Let my enemy feel your rage and your wrath! Let the powers of the sun turn my enemies to ashes! Solar Blast!"
From the gem, comes several large fireballs the size of a basketball, with heat that is more than enough to kill a man if it hits. The fireballs flies right towards Gedeon with different rails so they would not interrupt each other, and can fly towards their target at the same time. On impact it would cause a small explosion, enough to blast a large hole into whatever it hits and picking up large amount of dusts with the explosion, along with creating a large booming sound that would alert the rest of his men.

The blood on the knife was wiped onto the clothing of a dead man while Dieter prepared himself to clear the next house. Him and the professor were going to exchange some brief words, but a loud explosion and flash of light signaled that their plan was ruined. It had barely even begun and already it had been foiled. Gerdhardt cursed into the back of his hand, not that keeping silent was a concern now, shouts were coming from all around them. The man spared only enough time to safely stow his scale so that it wouldn't be harmed in the battle that was certain to be on the near horizon. His back was thrown to a wall beside one of the windows, which he spread the blinds of open an inch to see out.
The first thing he noticed was that James's new book was extremely potent, there was no two ways about that. A few words and the doctor had conjured up a bouquet of spears that were sent hurtling at lethal speeds towards some of the bandits coming to fight them. They were struck dead near instantly, lanced with such force as to be nailed to the side of the house they had just left. Extremely impressive. No less impressive was the vampire making short work of another group of villains, beating them like sacks of potatoes until they were equally still.
A good opening salvo, but the remainder of their numbers were pouring out to reinforce the single man that seemed to be alive from their vanguard. Dieter slipped out of a window, opening it this time rather than kicking it out like Tamara, and got into an alleyway. Going out the door would leave their entire group clustered together, and risk them all being hurt from automatic fire or a grenade. Instead he looped around the next house in line and came around behind it, to place him at the flank of the grave robbers that were just now surging into the village's main plaza.
The gun he had was a special variant of the Mauser C96, as was said. Known as the "Schnellfeuer", or 'fast fire', it had a select fire mode. In other words, it could shoot on full auto mode. The reason he wanted to use this rather than the rifle was that it would provide the same number of shots, without risking punching through the walls the same way the larger 7.92 round would. So that was exactly what he did, lay down a stream of automatic fire on the soldiers rushing in to reinforce the warrior that was currently dueling with Kate. Gerhardt aimed to catch as big of a group as possible in the cone of fire. Even if it didn't kill the bunch it'd make them take cover and pin them down, from which point, it would be easy for James's spells or Mei Mei to finish them off once they couldn't move freely.
Speaking of cover he remained behind the cover of a building to keep himself safe. This way, their bullets would have to punch through two walls to get him rather than one since he was at a corner. It gave better odds of survival, so he'd take it. Only his head and left arm were exposed, the man appearing to be ambidextrous as he handled the machine pistol just as proficiently with that had as he had been the rifle on the rest of their adventure.
Now he just had to hope that Gedeon could handle the boss...

Tamara was still looking out for the group everything was happening according to the plan then suddenly she saw a flash of light and an explosion off to the distance. Something happened with the Elder which Tamara soon frowned then turns to see more enemies inbound and soon takes cover with the others.
"Great, well that just throws the entire thing into worthless.", Tamara commented as she soon took a look at the incoming enemies which were coming from multiple directions now.
Now they were seriously disadvantage which Tamara was yes recovered her mana body was still injured to a degree and wouldn't be as much as she was before she got hurt. Regardless now they were in a bad situation she simply had to support them best she could. She soon closed her eyes and then reopens them again to slowly gather her mana, it would take some time but if she manages to do so it might help them.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Meanwhile in the other side of the town Gedeon was in just as bad but not shocking situation. With the explosion waking people up as well the others wouldn't even know why or if Gedeon was truly fucked things up. Of course it wasn't that he didn't try it was simply everything played into the hands of the elder and which Gedeon suspected prior. He after all stated best to handle him at quickl as possible but with everyone injured and taking a day it possibly left the moment of surprise from their end to the Grave Robbers surprise trap instead.
"Ah, so you were expecting me then.", Gedeon soon stated as he realized landing in the living room thinking it would be so easy.
Of course not it was not easy and he suspected the Elder had planned this far ahead the moment they arrived as well which Gedeon's eyes simply narrowed at the man as he noticed him. The face he was giving was not an kind elder, no but an experience warrior of sorts he himself have seen plenty of in his time. In his bad luck or luck depending on who you ask Gedeon got the 'golden ticket' as one would say in that one movie.
"Oh cut the crap, mister Boss man. You do realize you caused me so much trouble in that place you don't got any say in the matter. Lying to us as an so called Elder and taking this town hostage, I got to say I seen your kind before and well I have dealt with them before.", Gedeon soon replies as he was requesting the gem which Gedeon simply puts his hand on his retracted spear which was holstered into his leg.
When he saw the gem which had eyes of a cat his eyes only confirmed much and at the same time seeing the situation reminded him of the last time. Gedeon was already to kill the man before him but still it felt like two of them were in a face off and the calm before the storm of battle between mages. Which of course Gedeon haven't felt like the days back at home in a while so one would think normally in this situation would be afraid. Gedeon showed no fear in fact he was completely calm and knew of the gem like it was just something common which would make the bandit leader question just who Gedeon was to be exact. As soon as the calm ended though it was a split second as Rashidi unleashed his spell if he was expected a burned up corpse he would be at a loss as only thing before him was a crater and the wall missing. Before he could react Gedeon would already have his spear at Rashidi's neck as he was untouched at the suddenness of his movements.
"Your kind is the typical kind, thinking they have great power that they can do anything. Just a small ounce of that power and a normal man would go mad. I guess it just takes something to make them understand their place in the food chain. Sorry Mister Rashidi but tonight not only you will die but every man under you will experience a hell like no other. Its time for Plan B here and you will fully enjoy it. Its time to kick your ass down the hell.", Gedeon soon stated as he moved to slash at the man's neck with his Spark Death.
If it worked Gedeon would simply take the gem away from the man if it didn't well, he would quickly used his lightning Step to move out of the away and prepare another counterattack.

With Dieter's support, and James the other are able to get behind different obstacles. So far they were able to deal with a bunch of the enemies already, at this rate they should be able finish them off and move on to go help Gedeon. That said, the enemies now know they're dealing with enemies, and begin to move more professionally. Like Dieter they take the route out the window, and close on to the group, firing to force them to keep their heads down.
Now that the enemies are coming from different directions, it won't be as easy to finish them off quickly. The bandits have fought James before this encounter, so they know they can outrun the Jiangshi, and that's exactly what they do in this case. They keep this distance away from her, or use obstacles to prevent her from bouncing towards them. They focus their fire on Dieter, Tamara, James, and Kate, the ones that they could actually do damage to.
James quickly pulls Kate behind the building they just cleared, but when he saw Tamara trying to cast magic, he stopped her.
"Conserve your energy for later on, you'll have a bigger role then. Keep your head down and don't get hit by any stray bullets."
He himself has done the same, and did not attempt to cast more magic unless necessary. They would need plenty of mana for their coming battles, can't risk wasting too much of it in a skirmish like this one. James pulls out the pistol he had taken from Dieter's group, and begins to provide support fire along with Kate, hopefully they would be able to get a few hits in even in the night.
So far it doesn't seem like they have radios with them, so at least the team could relax about them warning about the bandits at the camp. However if they don't deal with them well, who knows if one of them could sneak off to warn them.
-
"Obviously you are over confident in your ability if you believe this is a small ounce of power... young and reckless."
Gedeon may be fast, but that doesn't mean his opponent is unprepared. A powerful shield that shares the same color as the gem blocks the attempts by the mage knight to kill its owner, forcing him back with a powerful shock wave that reacts on impact.
"Do you really think it will be that easy? You may have magical powers, something that I did not expect, but I have not came early hand you know."
Indeed he had not, in his other hand is his assault rifle, the man is not afraid to use both magic and technology at the same time. Pulling the trigger was all he needed to do in a closed space like this, bullets spraying towards his opponent with alarming speed and force, threatening to drain the life out of him. His other hand wasn't just resting either, with an another wave of magical energy, a large lion appears by his feet and charges towards the spear welding warrior.
The beast should be a distraction for the warrior, so Rashidi takes the opportunity to duck back into the darkness, hiding his position. But rather than simply running away, he remains hidden and wait for Gedeon to chase after him, if so then he could send several magic at him just as he tries to head towards his position. Either way if this battle continues here, it could be dangerous for the elder, who Gedeon was asked to save earlier.

Bullets start to come back the group's way within the span of half a minute, and a few near misses send chunks of adobe brick flying into the German's face. He turns at just the right moment to avoid getting the dust into his eyes, continuing this motion from there and pulling the rest of his body back and to the side as more rounds skip off the stone or bury themselves into the sandy ground. Even without seeing them, the commander here was able to make a few deductions:
They were disciplined, this wasn't panic fire. They were using their rifles. And that they were in good moral, there were no screams of distress or calls for orders.
It could be better, but it could also be worse. Before having to break line of sight he saw for sure that he shot down at least a pair of men to his own name, so there can't be many left. Granted, even one of them could put a member of his team into the ground if they didn't watch their steps very carefully. Not a time to get cocky, though some people in the group might disagree with that sentiment.
Gerhardt waited for a break in the fire that meant that the people pinning her down were either moving or reloading, he hoped for the second one, because he took that opportunity to reposition himself. He dove out from behind the building and hit the road hard on his side, by design, because this combined with his momentum let him roll the rest of the way to end safely concealed behind the next house over. Or so he had hoped. Rising to his feet and moving for the far corner brought him more-or-less face to face with another one of the bandits that was trying to outflank the group. They locked eyes with each other at the same moment, no time to move back now. Instead he rushed forward. The impressive weight of the broomhandle was used for a pistol whip, as he attempted to smash the bandit in the forehead with the gun's forward section where the clip fed into it. Ideally that would jar him enough to stun for a second while he used the knife he was still holding to stab him in the stomach.
Whether it worked or not he'd jump backwards to once again place some cover between himself and the robbers. With him continuing to roll up on their flanks they'd have to split their focus even more so to try and pin down both groups, opening up more opportunities for a slip up. Between him and the jiangshi, they'd eventually be able to pin the group down and destroy them. They were already losing the war for mobility, which meant that they'd quickly be dismantled by Dieter and his allies. They just had to keep them suppressed until that could happen.
More flashes of light from the elder's house had him worried about Gedeon. There was almost no doubt that the bandit leader had magic or some kind of trick, no one would be fool enough to use that many grenades in doors at close range. But out of anyone, the mage knight was probably the best suited to a battle of the arcane. Worst come to worst, if he held on, they could probably reinforce him soon. The greater concern was collateral, if anyone else was in that house with them, they may be in trouble with how heated the battle in there looked to be going. Hopefully Salvator took all that into consideration while he dueled.

As Tamara was in the middle of gathering energy she soon heard James as she moved her head up to him who told her to stop. If only should could it would be easier to deal with the enemies but it seemed he must of had a plan of attack. Tamara stopped and let the energy she was gathering go, as she soon nodded and kept herself down.
"Fine... but you better have a good plan.", Tamara soon stated to James.
When the flashes and explosions could be heard off to the distance Tamara's thought's went towards Gedeon if only for a brief moment. The entire situation was still dire as the bullets kept on flying overhead as Tamara continued to stay as low as she could. With now putting her life into the hands of Dieter and James she waited for the moment to be told to attack.
_________________________________________________________________________
As the attack came an magical barrier suddenly appeared before him as his attack and the barrier clashed in such a force wind could be felt from both attacks as he was forced back. The sheer magical power of both clashes were a classical affect when magic collided in battle. Of course Gedeon didn't think that a normal bandit leader of this world would master magic with such ease then again. It has of course happened before with two very people he personally knew. It was itself becoming far more strange of how people of this world is mastering magic which normally takes years to master. Was it completely coincidence, or was something far more larger force at work here? Regardless Gedeon stopped himself from crashing into anything as he suddenly used his mana to force his two feet down on to the ground creating a small breaking of the floor up.
Once he stopped Gedeon soon replies, "Reckless? I been called that but when one grows up in the art of a Mage Knight this is expected to fight against those like you."
Now putting himself back into a fighting stance he soon hears the next which made Gedeon fully chuckle at his resort. This of course meant he didn't have to worry not even going all out the biggest issue at hand was not he couldn't deal with him no. It was more on the fact somewhere in here the real elder was inside the place. He couldn't level the building and be done with it no, he had to just make it fully harder to try to find the elder in this sort of situation.
"Why do people you always play the hard way. *sigh* As well dealing with magical beings, always gets on my nerves!", Gedeon soon shouts as he suddenly disappeared again.
Of course even if one fires bullets towards you is quite dangerous. Gedeon, was not invincible, not even close. As he used his lightning step he only can move as fast as he could. Regardless a few bullets manage to graze him as he headed directly for the window. He ignored the pain as he jumped out, hoping he had made it through in time. Of course bullets can go through buildings easy enough that Gedeon had to do a barrel roll onto the ground then goes down to avoid the rest. The next problem now would be that lion rushing towards him, he quickly rolled out of the way of the window as quickly as he could. Once he did so he raised his spear, to aim it at the window as the lion would come out of. He began his chant, of course like many of his excess support spells which was considered general basics for mage knights he began his chant.
'By the cold wind and the chill of despair! By the power of wind and water come to my blade!! Ice Slash!!', Gedeon soon chanted then pushed forward as the Lion would jump out of the window.
Slashing downward, this spell was much weaker then his main elements, but due to he is dealing with fire, it might be more effective, even if it was a weaker spell. If he killed what was summoned he would instead not leap back inside, and take a moment to pause. He was changing tactic as he stopped himself for a brief moment to think.
'This guy is no amateur that is for sure, the longer this takes the bigger the problem. Now where could be the elder, could he be inside or would he put him elsewhere. No he has to be inside, but where? Maybe a secret compartment below? Or in a small area above. Damn it why does everything I face is always out of my element!', Gedeon meant on his known skills and what he is capable of course.
He was not a true Mage of a power House in fact if Tamara used her power right she would be vastly more stronger then he ever could be. In fact if he remembered correctly as his master told him Tamara is classified as a once in a century type Mage Knight. Specifically she is classified officially as a Mage Cavalier but that is just a place holder. As his mentor stated once fully trained she is could be called the Anti Army Mage Knight or even an Anti God or God Slayer category. In other words she could level this entire town if she truly was trained, well regardless now he had to think. What to do for now he waited as he soon thought hard then made his decision.
He soon closed his eyes and tried to sense where the elder would be but suddenly would feel a wave of interference from the gem Rashidi currently had.
'Figures, that gem is giving off so much energy it is making it impossible to sense the elder. I seems I will have to deal with him before I can find the elder. I better be careful, because one hit fron that gem would likely hurt me extremely badly or kill me out right.', Gedeon mentally thought as he was now in a bad situation once more.
Gedeon now had no choice but to fight this man, but being out of element and his mana was holding steady, but thst wouldn't always be the case for long. His continued use of lightning step strain was coming up on him. He could do it a while longer but the more he did the more likely he could end up breaking himself in the process. After all the techniques Gedeon learned from his mentor is a literal walking a fine line of power and death. One wrong choice and he might never walk again or worse he ends up killing himself in the process. With that done he soon picked up his spear and soon would leap back inside, his mana was pushed into his weapon even more as it had begun to glow blue.
The blue of course was his mana converted into lightning, each mage had their own elements alignment but also the color of their mana also shows something else. Just like previously the green mana came from those who joined chaos, as they trained in that art of magic. As for Gedeon he needed to end this soon, and his mana over his spear and electricity on it would illuminate the dark room. It is here Gedeon saw the incoming magical attacks from Rashindi. He had to move as his lightning step was being pushed once more. In his mind he was counting as he knew how much longer he could use it. Moving he would barely dodge each attack that attempted to burn him into nothing but ash. He as well took out a few daggers and threw a few as he imputed mana into them as they glowed blue eith electricity. Of course he was using them on magical attacks that would hit him no matter what he did. He moved closer to the man knowing full well he had a barrier over him.
'His barrier is strong yes, but there is one sole weakness about barriers! It is it can only sustain as much magical energy the user is capable of!! Which means if I put all my attack into a single point of the barrier then it can be penatrated for a moment!! And into that moment into just need to hit him once!'
Reckless? Yes, of course Gedeon was always reckless. He has always push himself in this way and it was at times if your not bold, then don't even try it. Gedeon' arm was energized with mana as he was glowing blue and eith electricity. Some would call this magical synergy in his world. It showed how much of his energy he was going to do in this one attack.

The battle's being carried out to the team's advantage, if it continues well then they should have no problem in defeating these bandits. They did have the number advantage, but that have long lost that thanks to the team's per-emptive attack, taking down close to half of their numbers before the battle even began. With Gedeon keeping their leader busy, Dieter taking them down one after another, and their fear for James' magic and servant, they are certainly not doing too well. They do have training, just like Dieter had predicted, but it seems they are still no match against the adventurers.
However they're not helpless, although Dieter is able knock down one of the bandits, he was able to recover just in time to try and resist against the knife that's being lowered towards him. The resistance allows his ally to give him a hand, and attempts to attack their attacker using their own knife to force him back. If the German does not pull back, he might risk getting hit by the second bandit, if so then the one that was attacked would be able to recover and join the battle against him. It also reduced the number of men firing while they're busy dealing with him, allowing the others to attack with less worries of getting hit.
On the other side, another bandit is engaged in melee battle with Mei Mei after he was cornered. Ran out of bullets long ago, the man tries his last weapon against the bouncing undead, causing sparks to appear as the blade makes contact with her strengthened flesh. It was futile, if bullets from an assault rifle cannot do much more damage than a scratch, the regular combat knife is not going to do anything at all. It did not take long before the knife breaks after a swipe towards it, and a punch causes his chest to cave in, destroying vital organs along with his chance of survival.
James was struggling to deal with another bandit, though he managed to get close enough to stop him from using his assault rifle, he did not have much physical advantage over his opponent. The two men were around equal in stature, although the bandit had training, James himself was not exactly the kind to sit in an office all day either. With a strong tug James was able to knock the rifle aside, but the disarmed robber was able to kick him back, forcing him to recover and stand back up. The bandit then pulls out a combat knife, swiping it at James a few times, which he swiftly avoids. James was waiting for a better opportunity, until then he would just have to dodge the coming attacks.
Mean while, Kate was reloading her rifle, when the last bandit closed their distance. Unlike the other warriors currently fighting, the young woman was not exactly a warrior, and her ability to fight at close range was quite low if not non-existent. It's not a wonder that she is mainly trying to avoid the man's attacks, and trying to keep some distance from him. She picks up a handful of sand and throws it at the man's face, hoping to blind him for a moment. It did not work as well as she expected, the man was able to brush away the sand as it comes at him, and tackles her down on the ground with his knife ready to stab her. She sure could use some help right now, before she runs out of strength to hold back the knife.
-
The light that the mage gave off was strong enough to illuminate the shadows that Rashidi was attempting to hide in, so he had to think of something else if he wants to keep this advantage. The did not seem to be aimed as an attack, but it gave the room a light source, a quite bothersome move to the bandit leader.
Although he was able to block the attacks earlier, he was not going to simply believe that the barrier can last forever, and tries to keep himself out of harm with or without the barrier. That became more of a priority when he saw the summoned lion being killed as easily as that, showing that the warrior in front of him are quite skilled, and quite dangerous to engage.
His guesses seems accurate enough when the man comes at him with high speed, fast enough to catch up to him within a short amount of time, but he still have the advantage of the barrier that he decides to press on. Jumping out from the front door to buy himself some time, he sends a fireball right by his feet, just barely out of the barrier so the explosion would be blocked by his own magic. He did this to make up for their speed differences, if Gedeon plans to attack at close range, he would have to close this distance, and be caught by the explosion.
If he decides to back off, it would give Rashidi sometime to carry out other plans, which might possibly become a problem to him in the future. The barrier itself seems to be tough enough to block the explosion, it was slightly weakened, but quickly recovers back to full strength within a short amount of time. The gem is really powerful, more so than a good number of magical artifacts, perhaps even more so on the offensive side than James' Book of the Coming Forth By Day, or Dieter's Scale of Judgment. Which is understandable, considering it belongs to Bastet, a goddess that is positioned higher than Anubis in terms of warfare. Rashidi is only using one of the gems too, which makes one wonder how powerful it might be if the man owns both of the artifacts.

The stab ends up to go wide as his victim evades, twisting out of the way of what would be a lethal blow. No surprise, this land bred hard men and they'd almost certainly fought more times than their age would belie. It hardly affected the outcome, it just meant that he'd have to line up another strike and finish the job. No more gunfire was coming his way, so it appeared that this man was the only one nearby would could check his flanking advance. Or so it had first seemed, that was proven false when another member of the thieves' band rounded the corner with a blade in hand to help his woozy comrade just in the nick of time. They took a swing at him almost immediately, steel flashing with the light of the moon. Unlike his foe, however, Dieter doesn't have to choose between dodging or risking getting hit.
For you see, he could parry. Those boucan knives his group ran around with, and it was all of his group that sported them, the team had seen them on the belts of the guys he called up, possessed hand guards just for occasions like this. Dealing with supernatural creatures and weirder things oftentimes meant that you wound up in a brawl more often than was comfortable, so having that extra bit of defense could make the difference between life or death; such as now. Metal sang from their blades clanging together, Dieter raising his and using the flat to deflect the incoming attack from the second bandit. His riposte was lightning-fast, taking the form of a quick-but-shallow swipe to the face. In specific he aimed for the forehead, where a bleeding wound would momentarily blind the bandit if it hit, blood from it would pour right down into his eyes should it connect. More likely, his reflexes would work against him and bring the thief to recoil back out of the way when his subconscious perceived something coming towards him at eye level.
Either way the entire thing was a ruse, the explorer merely wanted him to be distracted so that he could summarily shoot him with his Mauser at point blank.
Whatever the outcome of this was, it would still leave the first soldier unaccounted for. By now, he'd surely have recovered himself enough to be ready to resume his attack. To try and keep that one off balance, Dieter brought up a booted foot and slammed it into the stomach of the second bandit, in hopes of sending him flying back to hit into the other one. This would hopefully knock him back down so that he could be finished off next round, and the other benefit was that if the one turned into a makeshift projectile had survived the counterattack, this would similarly throw off his offensive as well and give the German more time and openings with which to dispatch them.

Tamara during the fight who was with Kate got intense, as Dieter and James were busy with their own issues left the girls on her own. When one bandit started to come toward Kate, cutting her advantage down as the distance was what was keeping her alive. Tamara saw this then she knew she had no other choice she put two of her hands together and began to gather mana around her hands. Though still wounded and not in perfect shape to fight a war she had no choice to prevent Kate from getting hurt or worse killed. As she was doing this she soon began a small chant which suddenly water was forming between her palms.
'By the power of Neptune, may the seas of your power command the storm!! Give me thy power to destroy thy enemies!! Water Cannon!!', Tamara chanted which suddenly a very powerful water shot at the man which would by sheer pressure push him off Kate.
With that done Tamara soon would run up to Kate soon asking, "Are you ok?"
Of course the worse was far from over, as the man on the ground could still get up depending if the water cannon broke his back or not. Just in case Tamara would help Kate up quickly as possible and pulled her back a bit. Whatever the next plan they better have a good one, Tamara would soon hear gun shots and other explosion again from the elder's house from a distance. She hoped Gedeon would still be alright in this situation. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Gedeon knew for a fact he had to deal with Rishandi right away regardless of the outcome due to he knew. The fact is Gedeon would be set up to lose if he allows the fake elder time he needed to plan out his attacks. After all the gem was a God level item and Gedeon was no god, his mana would run out quicker then the gem which is practically limitless power compared to him. So due to this Gedeon knew for a fact he had to press his attack and end this quickly or lose. So as he came in to strike the barrier even though it would be enough to penetrate the fire ball sent to his feet would cause an explosion. Enough to force him completely back normally or even burn off his legs off. Only thing was Gedeon knew that it would hit him and force him back. To Counter this Gedeon quickly activated his Stone Skin below his body, which not only would take the brunt of attack but due to being ground it in fact prevented him from being pushed back. The only issue with the spell? Due to how little time he had and how powerful the gem was it simply broke the stone skin fully once the attack was done. The explosion would cover Gedeon enough that he soon began to gather mana on to his other hand for some reason. It was subtle but Gedeon got a thought on something. If it worked well he would be quite impressed and soon noticed the barrier weakening. It was enough for Gedeon to now figure something out all was left needed was to get close enough to the man to try to kill him.
As he moved forward he soon called his spell he used earlier at the Tower of Babel, the same spell that uses to wind to push him forward he soon continued to give himself momentum. Gedeon knew he didn't have enough time to use another stone skin or another wind so now was the time to strike. As his spear continued toward the man Gedeon would suddenly grab his pistol which was on his holster then activated his Spark Death, on the pistol instead of the spear and soon unleashed all twelve round so quickly the bullets were enhanced and at such close range it would hit the barrier multiple times. If it worked like he wanted he would then swing his spear once more as the barrier would be taking the high speed slugs which if Gedeon guessed correctly, weaken the barrier further.
